Now that eSIM is the only option in many countries for iPhones I show you how to reset iPhone to Factory and also what happens with eSIM. Thanks for watching, it is always appreciated.
At 2:00, I didn’t quite understand what you told about using a computer to revert back to what apple allows. Does that mean if iPhone 13 series running ios 16 can be restored to ios 15 when restored using a computer?
When I upgraded I was able to get unlimited iCloud backup for a month for free so you don't need a paid iCloud plan. You can start the iCloud backup and it will remain up to date on its own until you get the new phone and then restore from backup. This method allows you to use your old phone while the backup is restoring to the new phone and then you wipe the old phone to trade it in. You will see at 5:31 the message at the top and "get started" button which lets you use the unlimited iCloud for 1 month and the option to extend this if it will take you longer to get the new phone.
Aaron!! I need your advice I know this is off-topic of this video but my iPhones battery health recently dropped to 79 and I don’t have the funds at the moment to get a new phone or replace the battery is it OK to still use it with it being this low? Kindest regards. Drake
It’s still definitely okay to use it but once in a while it might restart out of no where and it’ll definitely be laggier than usual due to the CPU throttling you. So, safety wise, it’s A-OK 👌🏻
@@DrakeEdwards17 nah, swelling isn’t as common as you think and that happens mostly with stored phones. Since you’re constantly using it, it shouldn’t swell. If it DOES swell, you’ll definitely know it lol. Just keep using it until you can upgrade or get a new battery from Apple.
Hi Aaron if I factory reset my phone with iOS 18 beta on it will it revert back to iOS 17? I don’t care if I lose my iCloud as I only had iCloud for a few months and haven’t done much with it while using beta , any help would be great! Thank you for all that you do for the community aswel! I’m a big fan of your work!!
I’m confused about the eSIM. I’m giving my old phone to my mom (who is in the same AT&T plan as me) and I’ve already transferred data to my new iPhone 15. I’m about to wipe my old phone to give to her but do I not delete the eSIM since we are in the same plan? Or will her eSIM be transferred from her phone once I give it to her? So confused
Hi Arron, great video. I have an iPhone X and an Apple watch ultra. I’m going to get an iPhone 15 Pro max at launch. I would really like to see a video that is focused on getting a new iPhone and transferring the old phone to the new one and mainly focusing on how to transfer the Apple Watch without losing health App data…
Hi Aron! I am currently using ios 17 beta but i want to go back to ios 16 but i am scared that in that process my esim will be gone! is there any way to backup esim?
Very helpful, thank you. I’m sure the process will be a little bit different as I’m switching to android/S23 Ultra, from iPhone but at least I know how to properly factory reset the iPhone and what steps to take.
If i want to update my iphone via itunes on my pc, do i need to keep it plugged in until the ios update is ready or i can unplug it once it starts downloading the update and re-plug it again when it finishes downloading? I'm asking bcause i don't have a super fast wifi and ios updates take forever to be downloaded on itunes. TIA
It should ask you there as well. But there’s not really a reason to do that unless you’re going back to iOS 16. In that case, when you’re just restoring software, it won’t remove it.
I have a major question. I just upgraded my phone and I forgot my Apple account password will resetting my phone back to factory condition. Allow me to make up a new Apple account.
@@zollotech i seen other say they have problems from moving esim to esim . In that video i see physical sim to esim I was interested in seeing esim to esim from iphone 14 to iphone 14 or something

Hello everyone! I don’t have a new iPhone, but would really like to do a full reset on my 13 Pro Max because of performance issues and bugs that don’t seem to be rectified with new iOS updates. If I follow Aaron‘s instructions exactly as in the video and keep my eSIM configuration, my question is will I be able to download from iCloud back up and restore my phone back to its original state before I did the full reset. I’d like to do a full reset but don’t want to lose any of my text messages and things of sort. Has anyone done this in the past? Please help as I would really rather not purchase a brand new iPhone if this reset would possibly help with some performance issues that I’m currently having.
Good day of I have a iPhone 14 pro max and I what to the trade for a iPhone 15 pro max for Apple much money do you think I would have to pay with the iPhone 14 pro max
Apple should have an easier way to transfer your esim to your new phone 😓 here in Peru you have to physically go to your carrier store and ask them to put in to your new phone
so this isnt working for me. Its asking for Apple account password. I put it in, then my NEW phone is asking if its ok to authorize, i say YES, then it wants me to put in some code in the OLD phone to allow. HOWEVER, on the OLD phone, its trapped on the password screen after i press "turn off" when i have told it to skip iCloud backup. There is NOWHERE to put this stupid code in??? ugh
Hi Arron, i use to always watch your previous video (how to reset iPhone) whenever I’m upgrading to a newer iPhone. You used to mention that we need to turn off (find my) before signing out from iCloud but in this video you did not do that. Does it matter if i turn off (find my) or not? Hi, a little correction here. Only the US models support Esim only, many countries outside of the US still allow physical SIM cards

When you remove your iCloud account or just reset it will remove it automatically from Find My.

Nice explaining, Aaron. I understand why you did this since eSIM is now the only option for iPhones.

I was really wondering, is resetting on iPhone the same as resetting using IPSW(with Mac)?
Yes, it will reset the same way, but also reinstall the OS. However, that really makes no difference.
