I just really really wanna point out that the fucking prince did nothing either time. It was fucking fate that solved the problem. It was fate that it was raining and the witch slipped and it was fate that Snow whites true love happened to pass by her. Let’s give credit where credit is due 😤
Yeah the kindness in Snow White compels everyone around her to do good. That's power and a good influence. Her maintaining to be loving and optimistic, that's strength.
Yes especially when the world around her is evil like it is today, to still be able to be kind is not a weakness its maturity and strength not every woman can stay strong and still love others and the world after almost getting murdered by a family member.
The main characteristics of psychopaths are: 1. They are obsessed with power and domination. It's their goal N°1. 2. They see love, empathy and feelings as weaknesses. Unbelievable. 😂😂😂
As if the original Snow White wasn't extemly strong. This woman lost her parents at a very young age, got abused my her stepmom, and the only thing keeping her happy was her animal friends and the hope that her prince would save her. And then she has to run away and then pretty much took care of these grown men. The prince didn't even reapear until the end of the movie. This girl is the definition of courage and she's one of my favorite disney princesses.
That’s a lovely take on the movie and you’re correct, the prince had a supporting role throughout the entire movie and showed up at the end. And what’s wrong with waiting for love, is that really so bad? People all over the world are united by that, which has no cultural or language barriers. What gets me is how we feel obligated to redo everything now to make it fit the narrative for everyone. If that’s the case, can life just all of a sudden become fair for everyone too?! Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. Sometimes things don’t really need a remake but a fresh pair of eyes and a different perspective!
! EXCACTLY ! there’s nothing wrong with being “girly”, soft and feminine / liking really “girly” things… a “girly”/feminine princess is allowed to wish for a prince / love and also be strong / fight and be independent… For me, Kristen was the perfect Snow White, looks-wise and also how she portrayed her character…
And being saved by a man doesn't mean you're weak either. Kristen understands that needing help doesn't mean women are weak. She says something to that extent in another interview. I mean , look at Sarah Connor, Ripley, Rita ( Emily blunt from Edge of tomorrow) all very strong females who all needed help from strong capable men.
@@louisedolan2384Ick, women are not here to support you. When we talk about women and how they are beautiful there is no need for anyone to bring men into the conversation. Men are great in their own ways, and so are women. It’s so disheartening when people make it seem like we are only good if we can support a man.
@abjectmadness4461 do you ruin the beauty in everything or is it just this subject? Men and women are beautiful but in different ways, we compliment each other. Nothing wrong with accepting that fact
I love Kristen's definition. I feel like she captured the character more accurately and more beautifully. It takes more courage to stay steady, compassionate and maintain your heart and goodness through trials.
Yeah that second girl is the reason I wont go see this one and I will give almost anything a chance. Snow white and her character have held up for, what, 80+ yrs? She has some nerve to think she should come in and change her! She is not and never will be Snow White. They should have just called it something else for real.
@ElleD308 it's not 2014 anymore. It's weird to hold grudges against people you don't know. I appreciate how much better Kristin is obviously doing now in a relationship with a woman. Did you ever think the director is a pig for leaving his wife for a young cast member? Or do you just always blame the woman 100%?
The weird thing is romance is a huge genre. I don’t know the stats for movies, but it makes up for about 50% of book sales. To act like romance is not something people aren’t interested in is just inane.
I liked Stewart's take of "being attacked but not being hardened by it but instead keep being kind" cuz lets be honest this is very difficult but also the strongest version of any person on this earth to not hold grudges and move on.
Believe it or not, the original movie was an appeal to the life experiences of the people at the time. And Stewart’s movie is one that’s pretty relevant to our life experiences now, without shitting on the original story
Watching Kristen talk really puts it into perspective, love and kindness are the real strength and power. Not this "I need to act like a man to be strong and powerful".
Could have told us that in the 90s and 00s when all anyone told us girls was, "Men see women as sex objects. To be valued as equals, you have to be just as smart, cunning, strong, and cutthroat to make it. You have to make them not only crave your body, but respect/ fear your power." Or you have a jr. high teacher like mine who held up a Georgia O'Keefe skull painting to a diagram of the female reproductive system, saying, "Men will ONLY see you as a trophy, something to hang on a wall, something that can give them what they want, be it pleasure or progeny to brag about." Meanwhile church was trying to tell us that we have too many strong and rough women, we need more gentle and nurturing women... while our gentle and nurturing got us abused and dad stole my innocence, and after their divorce I had an early adulthood helping provide for my sisters (while being their shield on mandated visitation, the courts laughed the 'accusations' of sexual misconduct out because I was a teen and therefore goodie two shoes, straight A me would just go sleep with anyone to frame my dad smh...). There was a push not for women to be strong and capable of handling the roughness of life, it was to be dependent on your husband and sacrificial to your family. Anyone who was single was pitied and told to get a move on, anyone trying to make their own way (self reliance anyone?) and be an asset instead of a liability was shamed, anyone going against the sexist grain was lectured. 14 year old female me was yelled at in the chapel by the Elders for having the audacity to try and help put chairs up, and told to go talk with the women because that was what women do... be lazy, chit chat and gossip when there was work to be done!!! The pendulum has swung this far because there was a need. Hopefully it swings back before too many more lives are broken over it. Men and women should compliment each other, like two sides of the human coin. The same value, different strengths and uses. But until men start accepting women as equals for being feminine and not just sexy? It can't happen, because the only other way for women to make it is to either become way too motherly and creepy or become just as gruff and promiscuous as the boys... as society has rewarded since the sexual revolution.
Almost every self proclaimed “strong woman” is just a jobless, childless, out of shape keyboard warrior. Real strong women wait til marriage, have many kids with one man, provide for their children in the ways their husbands can’t, holds on to her convictions, doesn’t want the opposite sex to be in the same bathrooms as her sons and daughters, doesn’t want her kids to learn the lies of modern public schools, and stands by her husband and children, no matter if the left gaslights them not to.
Snow White is a strong female character, because she doesn’t get hardened by the cruel world around her! She has the strength to always be herself! To be gentle and compassionate to everyone. Even after the Huntsman was about to stab her. She shows concern for him! That’s strength!
To top it off she stays his hand using her femininity to put down the weapon. Snow White while soft, innocent, and kind has a different kind of strength combined with her unwavering faith and ultimately the belief in the goodness of people and even overall humanity.
Exactly how folks will remember their strong feminine grannies, will call you honey and make ya soup while smacking you upside the head cause she knew you didn’t try on your last test
Yeah right it’s deranged, I can’t think of anything more universal than wanting to love and to be loved, trying to make that some anti female notion is nonsensical
I wasn't a fan of the Twilight series, but huge points to Kristen. Sh had a superb frame of mind for this character and brought a movie that many in my family enjoyed. :D Really ironic that Universal pulled off a better live-action Snow White that Disney will. -_-
i was a big fan for kristen untiil she cheated with this movie married director (with young kids) That cheating showed kirsten was not emotionally mature nor kind then, unless she is a very calculated female who didnot care about kids' long term feelings!
@@sirtchreyacts8741 HE that actor is, actually, a HE . A trans. Just go back and watch the video as he talks. That's one hell of an Adam's apple "she" has , huh?
Kristen's Snow White was a f**king badass. She put on a suit of armor and fought for her kingdom. I thought she was pretty modern. And then Ginnifer's Snow White in Once Upon a Time was a f**king inspiration and a girl power icon as a mother and expert archer. Like they're trying to make a point with this movie that has already been made.
Ikr, bet if Snow white was a lesbian they would've let that slide...Disney nowadays (I'm sorry if this offend anyone) But seriously tho what's wrong with a pair of lovebirds? It's not like she just came straight outta thin air and instantly became a "girlboss"
You can want to be loved and also be a leader. The problem is when you think love will save you from your problems internally or externally. It's delusional and unhelpful. Delusion about love is why some women end up stuck in abusive relationships.
@@genericfishstickIt kind of does. Kristen was beautiful in the way she carried herself, her appearance, words and manners where the second girl was nasty in both her attitude and words and it showed in her appearance.
Is that the movie featured in the original clip ? Never watched it but the actress really seems to understand the character and seems like a live action snow white done right
I actually came across that movie on a flight years ago so I watched it... I actually enjoyed that movie and find myself enjoy it... so I was surprised that it had a not so great movie rating and review online when I googled it after the flight 😅
@@HeejinbunnyThe Snow White and The Huntsman movies are pretty good. They made snow white strong, but in a good way. She had to lose her sheltered princess ways pretty quickly and fight for survival.
Disney doesn’t seem to realize that Snow White and the Huntsman already did the “Snow White as a leader” thing- yet they managed to also still keep her kind/gentle/maternal/feminine, included a love story, and somehow even managed to not shit all over the original haha.
Disney need to stop with these “live action” remakes and instead focus on the story plot of original content. Most are bored To Tears with sequels and prequels of old original plots and modernized spins on their vault classics.
@@MargaritaOnTheRox No, it wasn't a romantic love story. The Huntsman did grow love for her tho and that's why his kiss woke her. William didn't love her, they were friends and then he was just guilty they left her. Snow and the Huntsman were just two broken souls fr.
Honestly I miss those types of characters, yeah having the princess be a oblivious idiot is boring but that doesn't mean she has to be a sword slinging mary sue too.
Being a leader and being strong doesn't mean that you're incapable of compassion and empathy. That's horrible message to portray. All leaders have to be cruel and heartless? That's messed up.
Its weird when Snow White and the Huntsman is MORE accurate to Snow White than what is supposed to be an actual live action remake of the Disney original.
I wish people would read the original stories though 😂 Disney literally condensed everything and put a bow on it.. Most Disney fairytales are old European tales and they are much much darker
@@Soup-manI think the best political themes both don't overpower the main story as well as be timeless. Anti pointless war or a stories telling the dangers of authoritarianism are always gonna be poignant, and scarily close to reality, as the years go by.

Exactly. All these modern feminists don't even know what true femininity looks like anymore. Woman do not generally battle. They do not often lead worlds or armies. Not because we want them pushed down, but because they are dominant in other fields.

"She's not going to be saved by the prince" What if girls want to be saved by the prince? what if girls want true love? It doesn't make them any less of a women or any less of a leader
I want to be saved by a Prince and I am a Girl. I want a Man I can lean on when life's challenges hit. Someone that would hold my hand every second of the way.
This turned into a problem, because it's not just about wanting true love, it's also from waking up from death. how the heck is she supposed to wake up if the prince doesn't kiss her?
@@dragonsman4733 if the roles were reversed, is it still somehow oppressing women or whatever they're claiming? like, the point is true loves kiss, regardless of gender, to save the main character. it could've easily been the roles being reversed and the plot wouldn't really change, but ppl r butthurt because they see a more classic idea on a guy having a protective role towards a woman, but ig if the man was struggling it'd be such a woke iconic submissive man moment with woman being powerful, hooray!
I absolutely hate this idea that “you cannot be a strong female if you depend on a man or say you need help from a man”. I’d say admitting you need help is probably the strongest thing you could do

@@PerfidiousPuffinThere are definitely women who strongly desire and strive to be leaders. That's not rare, and it's more about the type of personality you have. Some women are leaders in a good way and effectively improve systems and manage others, some wrongfully take that desire in places where there isn't supposed to be a "boss", like in the family. But generally speaking (like at work), there's nothing wrong with wanting or not to be a leader. Personally that's something I don't want at all. The problem here I think is that Snow White never seemed like the type to want leadership. She just wanted to help people and to feel love and happiness and always pulled all the happiness she could find from any situation she was in, no matter how bad. Also, even if she wanted to be a leader, why wouldn't she be allowed to want love too? People are multidimensional. And why is wanting love weak?? In any case I'm sure we all agree these people really dropped the ball with this "modern" version
@@Marina_7 I think a lot of the issue too is that nowadays it’s impossible to have a “strong female character” unless they want to lead in some way. That isn’t what makes a woman strong. Yes there are definitely women who want to be leaders and that’s great for them, the issue being pointed out is this seems to be the same lazy formula slapped on every female lead because nothing else can make a woman strong and independent
That's what freaking "Peter Pan" was really about. Peter was an allegory for naive, curious, and playful childhood and Hook was an allegory of cutthroat, humorless, loot-minded, and power-ravenous adulthood (diametrically opposed with Peter/youth) complete with the persistent adult fear of getting literally eaten by Time. 🐊⏰ That was *always* the dynamic that Walt philosophically danced with in his company's art throughout his lifetime (he died in 1966): how to make it through old age without losing that soft, pure, childlike spark of soul that differentiates humans from steely automatons. I boycotted "Saving Mr. Banks", but it's worth pointing out to lay Walt-era animation appreciators that Mr. Banks and Mr. Darling were practically the same character, a relatable archetype, and Walt poured his own life-experience with (and fear of) his own father into producing both of those movies. I'd bet anything that Walt's worst fear in life was the plausibility of becoming too much like his own stern, overworked dad; and that the *radically disingenuous* studio strike in 1940 really put his resolve in that regard to the test. All the testimonials that Walt was a gruff personality around the studio postdate that event; I think the strike taught him to make as few friends as possible with the artists he hired (because they got jealous of each other and took advantage of personal favors without considering the friendship mutual) and that he built Disneyland afterward almost merely to escape from his animation studio suddenly crawling with hostile employees whom he couldn't legally fire. 'Real hard to go to work every day after finding out your "friends" hate you enough to play with a guillotine right under your office window for a month. YEESH!! 😲 I think Walt is an interesting person, and himself a better living illustration of a battered adult stubbornly clinging to the ideals and optimism of his youth, including promises to his younger self to not turn into one of the fairytale monsters (twisted personalities) who frighten children with the ugliness of their worldliness, than "Snow White" ever could be. I believe that if Walt ever could have had just one selfish wish magically granted, it would have been to go back to being the unscathed, optimistic boy he started out to be in Marceline, 1907. Walt's decision to meticulously replicate the architecture of Marceline's Main Street (as the template for Disneyland's Main Street) was a downright PATHOLOGICALLY nostalgic thing for someone to do. 😲 But it wasn't really the town that Walt missed, because he returned several times later in life to physically visit-it was the idea of the place and the onetime version of himself that had lived there in a specific time period, which were existentially irrecoverable-except in a weird "pay it forward" kind of strategy.
@@eutytoalba Though, the original tale of Peter Pan was apparently created to scare children into growing up and Peter's appearance was quite creepy too. Not an allegory for how good childhood is, even if childhood is a great and important time in the life of a person and most times I too wish I could go back to relive moments of my childhood. Wendy as a character always served as a metaphor for "childhood can't last, sooner or later we all have to grow up and accept that". She infact chooses to go back to her normal life instead of staying with Peter, not because of some kind of woke mindset, but because that's what reality is. Childhood doesn't last forever and Peter Pan was never about love. I didn't see the recent Peter Pan movie and I don't know what they made of it, but the animated Disney version is quite romanticized. Still amazing.
The way that Rachel talks about it makes me think that all she sees about snow white is that she’s weak and she’s not, but she’s some how interprets compassion and kindness and love as weakness and it’s literally not. Those are such important qualities to have in those can make you strong be able to stay a kind and compassionate person and stay true to yourself, and still have heart after going through tough things like snow white does getting kicked out of her house and having to live in the woods is such a powerful thing that is really hard it’s like Kristen said being able to stay that person and not get hardened buy a scary world is really strong.
It reminds me that I used to be bullied by a cousin because I was soft, shy, and quiet. My family used to scold me because of this as well. It is kind of unfair. We shouldn't ONLY admire the "traditional strength" where one has to be out going, outspoken, physically strong, etc. Soft and warm women make a save haven of this chaotic world. Now people say how they like my soft spoken manner, they tell me I make them feel like meditating haha

They were very limited back then with what they could do. Honestly if any of their movies could use a live action remake, it’s Snow White.
Girls, there is nothing wrong with being feminine and compassionate but also strong in our convictions. It's okay to want marriage and a family. As a matter of fact, strong nuclear families are the bedrock of society.

She did save herself in the original version. Snow White was kind and brave. It went hand in hand. She could not have thrown herself into the abyss to save herself, made friends with absolute strangers, and a home in a radically different environment if she wasn’t. Unfortunately she was tricked by the jealous witch queen because of her nature, not judging a book…, and had a sleeping death. Everyone she befriended mourned the loss of their dear kind friend. But it was by her very nature that the good prince fell in love with her! If she was anything else and he was anything else the kiss wouldn’t have worked. I just watched a clip from Snow White in a film class. I complete forgot how purely feminine and kind she is.. ifs so refreshing and admirable. Her gentleness and kindness is why everyone loves her. No she is not mature, that is the problem she is young and naive and does not understand that you can be a string, independent women and still dream of true love. You can know when to be strong and when to let a prince save you. True love is a partnership with each having their different strengths, you can be a truely strong women with a strong man at your side. Dreaming of true love is an important part of the story, Disney and thus actress missed the real story and its meaning. Of course today's feminist do not understand real women's lib...the struggle was to be treated as equal as a women not to become like a man to be a considered equal. Today's feminist are an embrassment to those women like myself who fought for our rights and recognition for decades.
Kristen is the girl in the first clip, Rachel Zegler is the girl tearing down the true love aspect in the second clip. That’s what they mean. Kristen’s breakdown is more mature and accurate than Rachel’s take of Disney’s upcoming breakdown.
The part of staying true to herself and who she is to her core in a dangerous world and seeing if she'll keep that or if she'll be hardened by the struggles is really important. Her kindness is her essence, and that doesn't make her weak,it's what makes her...her.
In a sense, with modern updated Snow White, we now see the other side. An alternate story. 2023's Snow White shows us what could happen if she loses herself in that dangerous world.
And just because she fell in love at the end, doesn’t mean she’s weak either. Disney is really letting their feminist activist writers dig the company’s grave. The new actress basically called her weak bc she fell in love at the end. :/
@crispychiggm honestly! Would I call a man weak cause he fell in love or cause he dreamed of falling in love and getting married? No, I'd call him a man, cause he's still human. She's not weak for dreaming of falling in love or anything of that nature, not all girls want to be leaders or fighters. Snow White was not only my favorite Disney princess but just my most beloved folktale! Her heart being her guide and kindness her superpower that endeared her even to nature itself! Not to mention the supernatural naming her most fair in the land. That same kind heart making her beautiful from within and also making her a target for the darkness of her jealous bitter stepmother/frenemy. Not to mention the lessons on how even when hope is lost we must still have faith that there’s a chance for a happy ending. I didn’t know she wasn’t a boss babe as she was!!!!
Fun fact. Both Kristen and Rachel are the same age here, but my god what a difference in maturity. Kristen clearly loves film and understands character depth where as Rachel just seems like a bully.
What an insightful comment. They are light years apart in maturity & intelligence. Also Rachel is brash, harsh & unpleasant, Kristen feminine, thoughtful & strong.
This is night and day, one understood the character of Snow White whilst the other is completely clueless. Snow's strength is her kindness and softness. Kristen understood her assignment.
Most people’s definition of girl power or whatever “power” is just completely taking away the fact that being compassionate or loving can be derived as strength too. These feelings can leave us vulnerable, but what can kill you can make you stronger❤❤❤
Agreed... It's more difficult to be soft in a hardened world, rather than giving in, and becoming hardened...staying true to your heart, your humanity, ...that's true strength.
The modern hollywood version of "girl power" and "strong female character" is basically just a cheesy 80's action movie hero but with boobs. All snark, sarcasm, and quips, and nothing that really makes them a woman.
@@wumpusratTrue, the most respected person for most men must be their mothers, rarely it's the fathers. What is qualities that make them respect mothers the most? Caring, loving, comforting, basically touch their sons' hearts everyday. The ability that fathers often lack the most.

Exactly, there are tons of male heroes like that too, to take away such traits is to take away their humanity, which is why people don't like emotionless stoic characters, who are just that and nothing else.
Snow White did not save by the Prince. She's saved by her kindness. The hunter who supposed to kill her, couldn't do it and asked her to run. The dwarfs enchanted by her kindness and eventually became her allies. And the prince met her first in the castle and also charmed by her voice and kindness, that's why he fell in love. So in conclusion, this new artist (i don't know her) never seen Snow White classic before in her life.
Snow Whites strength has always been her innocent and compassionate heart. She is a 14 year old girl who even tho she was oppressed by her step mother, she never let it get to her and kept an optimistic point of view even dreaming of a prince who loves her coming into her life one day.
I don’t know why many people don’t like her but I think Kristen is a great actress. She was a very good Snow White and was perfect as Princess Diana in the recent movie. Anyway, what she said about Snow White in this video shows that she understood and respect the character (unlike the most recent Disney Snow White)
It takes immense strength to be kind, even after facing hardships. Kindness and humility goes a long way. Kindness doesn't automatically equate weakness.

In Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), it's Charlize Theron who played the Evil Queen, and I personally find her more beautiful than Kristen Stewart portrayed here who played Snow White (not that Kristen Stewart isn't beautiful, she's absolutely gorgeous, but Charlize Theron is prettier, imo).
Kristen Strewart Truly is My All Time Favorite Live Action Snow White. 2012 Snow White may have experienced a lot of Trauma but she is Still a Kind Person.
I give Kristen a hard time just because of the Twilight movies, but here I'm willing to give her some credit. That was a really good way of describing Snow White.
Thank you for pointing this out. The real Snow White had no weapons, no combat training, no leadership experience, yet she avoided being killed by the Huntsman, she charmed seven grumpy dwarves, and she persevered into a happy ending. She’s clearly ecstatic in the final scene, is she not?
Snow White is all about a beautiful princess who trusts and helps those around her. She sees the good in everyone even after she had gone through traumatic incidents that should’ve made her a completely different person. Hence it is why she is beautiful and strong.
How can Rachel completely miss the part where Snow White, with literally nothing but the tattered clothes on her body, lifts up and becomes the leader of SEVEN men. She literally saves SEVEN MEN!
Mirror Mirror is to Snow White as Ever After is to Cinderella. Both take liberties with the original and both have “girl power” woven in to the storylines BUT they don’t take away from the heart or the romance of their original stories. It’s reimagining done the right way.
@jesseharter8673 Fun fact the original snow white uses mirror mirror. Disney's Snow White is the only time magic mirror is used. Most other movies use mirror mirrors. (And if you didn't know, we are talking about the movie, not the quote)
Snow didn’t wait for a prince to save her she got out of a toxic household , stayed with people who she took care of and took care of her , was very trusting of others even to a fault . She didn’t ask to be kissed . The whole true love concept is so underrated . Everyone’s so ok being hardened but if I can find true love I think that would be beautiful
@shibanwitaroy2073 You can tell she didn't have any guidance from anyone beforehand, especially not her... stepmother? She was 14, pure, and very naiive. She didn't assume that just because the old lady was ugly, she was a bad person. Not to mention, people seemed more trusting back then.
You can live as a woman and a leader and still want to fall in love. Being a feminist is not only wanting rights but recognizing the beautiful characteristics of a woman.
That's not being a "feminist". That's any person who's not ignorant & understands the vital roles both men & women have to play & how they are equal partners. That lingo carries negative connotations these days.
Being a feminist today is being a man-hater. It's anti-family, anti-male, and has lead to the downfall of the West as a whole. We need to intergrate all men into society instead of banishing the low value low tier men to obscurity and loneliness for most of their youth, and rewarding the high value high tier men and then wondering why they abuse you. The later is the result of giving women unearned privileges. Either you want true equality in which case you lose your gender protections, or you want your traditionalism. You cannot have both and still call it equality because thats superiority. Some men do not develop coping mechanisms for their loneliness and delete themselves.
Alternatively, you can recognize that men and women are not equal at all, because we are vastly different. Men built the world, and keep it spinning on an axis of 23 degrees. Women birthed the men who built the world. Men must create environments plausible for women to bear us children. We have two very very different biological purposes in life. Both genders need to embrace their purposes, or humanity will dwindle. It's happening to the West.
I just love the answer Kristen gave ! It was compassionate, deep and actually clever and well articulated. She did not shit on Snow White as if she was less of a woman because she is more « female » but actually uplifted her because of it. The other one…😒😒😒
I’ll admit I have never been a big fan of Kristen Stewart, but this interview gave me a major boost to my impression of her and her character. I may not agree with everything she has done in the past- really not my business- but I truly respect that she can recognize the true power of being a woman and not buy into the feminist rhetoric that has become so prevalent. A woman can be strong and independent and still be soft and nurturing. Compassion can still exist without being weak.
The point of Snow White is that her kindness is her strength. Couldn’t have said it better myself, Kristen.
That's actually so beautiful
No one was expecting you to say it better, fool.

And who says she's not gonna be kind and feminine in the second movie?
I just really really wanna point out that the fucking prince did nothing either time.
It was fucking fate that solved the problem.
It was fate that it was raining and the witch slipped and it was fate that Snow whites true love happened to pass by her.
Let’s give credit where credit is due 😤
Yeah the kindness in Snow White compels everyone around her to do good. That's power and a good influence. Her maintaining to be loving and optimistic, that's strength.
I agree
Yes especially when the world around her is evil like it is today, to still be able to be kind is not a weakness its maturity and strength not every woman can stay strong and still love others and the world after almost getting murdered by a family member.

Women have unique strengths. They don’t need to be like men to be strong.
Exactly
YESSS thank u
Being equal has never meant being the same. Viva La differance!
Could have told us that in the 90s and 00s when all anyone told us girls was, "Men see women as sex objects. To be valued as equals, you have to be just as smart, cunning, strong, and cutthroat to make it. You have to make them not only crave your body, but respect/ fear your power." Or you have a jr. high teacher like mine who held up a Georgia O'Keefe skull painting to a diagram of the female reproductive system, saying, "Men will ONLY see you as a trophy, something to hang on a wall, something that can give them what they want, be it pleasure or progeny to brag about."
Meanwhile church was trying to tell us that we have too many strong and rough women, we need more gentle and nurturing women... while our gentle and nurturing got us abused and dad stole my innocence, and after their divorce I had an early adulthood helping provide for my sisters (while being their shield on mandated visitation, the courts laughed the 'accusations' of sexual misconduct out because I was a teen and therefore goodie two shoes, straight A me would just go sleep with anyone to frame my dad smh...).

I mean yeah a lot of people do dream about finding true love which theres nothing wrong about that, but most disney princesses are alllll about that and its kind of repetitive.
1937 isn't an insult. That was a time where values and principles were important. We need to strong values again, society now is a mess because everyone thinks they can do what they like.
"She's not going to be saved by the prince"
What if girls want to be saved by the prince? what if girls want true love? It doesn't make them any less of a women or any less of a leader
these "feminists" are evil stepmothers. They want to keep true kind girls away from men.
It's actually the 1937 values about The Leader: He has no official bride because his bride is his country.😎
I’d say admitting you need help is probably the strongest thing you could do
Also "She dreams about becoming a leader." really? That's what women dream about? That's a women's primary desire? To have to lead everyone else? Yeah ok. Sure.

@@alyahamzah1952 sorry to say but I think women like you are becoming an endangered species in the west
Going through life without getting hardened. That hit in a very very deep spot
That was *always* the dynamic that Walt philosophically danced with in his company's art throughout his lifetime (he died in 1966): how to make it through old age without losing that soft, pure, childlike spark of soul that differentiates humans from steely automatons. YEESH!! 😲
I think Walt is an interesting person, and himself a better living illustration of a battered adult stubbornly clinging to the ideals and optimism of his youth, including promises to his younger self to not turn into one of the fairytale monsters (twisted personalities) who frighten children with the ugliness of their worldliness, than "Snow White" ever could be.
Snow white was very compassionate. That was her strength and what made her special. She was NOT a warrior. She was NOT violent.
Now people say how they like my soft spoken manner, they tell me I make them feel like meditating haha
i can really relate to this. i used to get bullied by my family and classmates for being ‘too sensitive’ like it was a bad thing to feel deeply for myself and others. of course, being sensitive does not mean i am exempt from criticism or too fragile for the world.

Wow i've never heard Kristen in an interview and she's actually well spoken and insightful
She's always been that way during her interviews and talk show appearances. She is actually quite wonderful, but I am a bit biased as I've had a crush on her for years.
She's a deep thinker, which might be surprising to some. I've seen a couple of clips of her talking in interviews and it's obvious that she has a good brain.
Her anxiety made it easy for social media to dismiss her and treat her poorly, but seeing her in the interview there really shows her growth.
I remember reading somewhere that she was on a list of celebrities with high IQ. Ke$ha was also in that list.
I think people don’t know or forget that she’s very eloquent because of all the hate she got while filming twilight. But that’s just my personal opinion
It was true selfless love because of their character. Do you think the jealous queen witch, who only loves themselves, is capable of true love? No!
The humility to start and the smugness to finish couldn’t be more stark.
Very simply but very well said, a perfect description of this clip!! 💯

Snow's strength is that she takes the time to get to know each of the dwarves and knows how to bring out their best. She does the same with the forest animals.
She is kind and tolerant of everyone (the dwarves are a great example of all personality types) but has expectations. They all look up to her bcuz they know she requires the same from them, as well. She faces temptation but overcomes by staying strong and remembering her convictions.

Being compassionate and feminine is extremely strong in its own way.
Kristen is just more mature and she knows the character.
She also knows the audience shouldn't be insulted everytime you open your mouth.

It makes her strong. ❤ Because it takes strength to not be hardened and selfish in such a cruel world.
It's still BS, just an earlier, less extreme BS from before studios execs lost their minds in a vain glorious attempt to increase female audience numbers through unnatural means.
@@jensphiliphohmann1876 well it kinda is, since snow White's supposed to be more beautiful than the evil Queen, and she isn't even near as beautiful as the first actress
@@dragonsman4733 To be fair, I often found the Evil Queen more beautiful than Snow White was.
It is its own kind of strength to be able to stay kind, hopeful and gentle in a harsh and cruel world. Snow White was that kind of strength.
How can Rachel completely miss the part where Snow White, with literally nothing but the tattered clothes on her body, lifts up and becomes the leader of SEVEN men. She literally saves SEVEN MEN!
Ya i mean Disney movies were about the Prince and Princess BOTH coming together to create a difference with their love and power ❤
@@hsd287 And the finding true love was just the icing on the cake. She was a success story even in the tattered clothes singing at the Wishing well.
Add Mirror Mirror to this!! That was a good snow white movie
Mirror mirror I so underrated
This is part of the whole Mandela effect thing. The line is actually "magic mirror on the wall" not "mirror mirror on the wall".
Mirror Mirror is to Snow White as Ever After is to Cinderella. Both take liberties with the original and both have “girl power” woven in to the storylines BUT they don’t take away from the heart or the romance of their original stories. It’s reimagining done the right way.
@jesseharter8673
Fun fact the original snow white uses mirror mirror. Disney's Snow White is the only time magic mirror is used. Most other movies use mirror mirrors.
(And if you didn't know, we are talking about the movie, not the quote)
@@sunnydaze2712 I thought Snow White: A Tale of Terror was more the equal to Ever After.
The difference between a Class Act versus someone who thinks they bring something great to the table
and yet they do bring
People should write their own “modern” sh*t instead of trying to “modernise” the Classics
But accepting an apple from a random stranger from the streets was a dumb move on Snow White's part.
That doesn’t describe any feminist I’ve ever met. They’re obnoxious with insufferable victim mentality. Many have true hatred in their hearts.
Also real women never needed to "ask for rights" because they already knew they had them....
