Good movie. I'm glad Freya finally learnt the terrible truth about her baby's death and that Ravenna did it to manipulate Freya into unleashing her dark side and turning to evil and redeems herself by helping Eric destroy Ravenna once and for all.
yes, i agree completely. However, i think ravenna is a lot more twisted than we think. Using it as an excuse to unleash freya’s powers, but really she wanted to eliminate the baby because it was more ‘beautiful’ thank her. She didn’t do it out as a favor for freya but she wanted to satisfy her vanity
The Florence and the Machine song from the first movie, "Breath of Life", also goes along well with her speech here. She started out wanting to be a good and fair queen to her people, as well as being a loving and loved wife and mother. But her heart had become so dark with evil and self-love that she was beyond redemption. She was even deluded to think that her actions were part of a "higher/divine calling". So she basically said to herself: "I might just as well be the most beautiful queen the world has ever known, as well as the most evil."
Let's be honest, Freya would have definitely won this if only she went for the kill without hesitation at the very beginning. I really wish she could have survived this and went to have a movie of her own.
I think it's because her heart broke on the spot when she learnt the truth about her baby and lover, which weakened her and caused her to take too long to freeze Ravenna. If her heart had been filled with fury instead, she would've obliterated Ravenna on the spot.

Actually in this movie we can understand the true nature of the Mirror... a artefact that makes you powerful... but slowly will consume you with vanity madness... from time to time the mirror will announce one would be prettier than you... and it will make you commit horrible murders or else your powers will start to weaken... a very dark artefact indeed
I kinda think the opposite. Not saying your take is less valid, just my opinion. The mirror itself says 'i am nothing' and clarifies that it's nothing more than an echoing chamber that simply reflects what people are. Perhaps it's the fact that only vain and cruel people are able to get a hold of people that this keeps happening. I wonder if the mirror itself is sick and tired of all the bullshit it's been forced to look back at. He certainly sounds like it.
The darkness was inside her all along is speaks of how vanity being one of the 7 sins can overcome somebody and cloud ones judgement to the point of no return.
I feel like the huntsman and the rest of the army knows Freya loved them all in her own twisted way. That while Freya had her own plans to take over kingdoms, any child she took into her army, Freya treated and loved in some twisted level. Thats why when the huntsman fell in love Freya felt betrayed because she wanted her children to love only her, and thats why she was willing to die to save them when their lives were threatened.
Freya is a very interesting character, she doesnt kill people that are innocent like her children. Yes, she keps them hostage for decades, but she never did kill any of them. But at the same time, she tells them to kill everyone coming their way. And at the end, she killed her own sister because she realised her sister framed her actual innocent lover and killed her daughter.
Funny how Jessica Chastain (Sara) portrayed her role pretty well as an adoptive daughter of Freya when in fact Emily Blunt is way younger than her in real life 😂
With this movie, the only two things that I wished were that the story focused more on the sisters and the second thing is showcasing the Ice queen’s powers. I feel like she could have put up WAYYY more of a fight against Ravenna.
Ravenna really made Freya strong. Despite becoming a grrief driven and evil, she was able to fight for what she really love and gain back what she has lost until the end.
I decided to rewatch this on a lark; and holy shit, I just discovered something really cool!!! At around 2:17 (though it really picks up and becomes obvious at like 2:40), while we're getting the backstory on the whole child-killing thing; there's a melody in the soundtrack. High note, lower note. High note, two lower notes. And it repeats really subtly. Why am I bringing this up? Because for those of you who remember Sleeping Beauty (the animated film made in 1959); there's the scene where Aurora is being led up the secret passageway in the fireplace by Maleficent to her curse. And the EXACT SAME FREAKING MELODY, THE SAME MOTIF PLAYS!!!!! High note, lower note. High note, two lower notes. Look up the scenes and listen if you think I'm wrong. Can I just say I love composers? They're really cool people who like to do this a lot.
The special effects and visuals of this film were awesome! 😮 Also, random thought - did anyone else think the mirror voice sounded like the Overmind from Starcraft? 😂
The only thing that frustrates me about this film is the fact that the snow Queen did not survive. She could have Changed And done some good again. Plus emily blunt played the hell out of that role and she deserved to survive.
What I never understood was how the mirror knew that Freya’s daughter would grow up to be more beautiful than Ravenna. It wasn’t able to do this for Snow White while she was growing up. It only acknowledged that was more beautiful than Ravenna once she became an adult.

@@denzjames1973 That's not true my friend, the movie snow white comes before the huntsman, snow white killed Ravenna , but at Ravenna's last breath she casted her self to the mirror and made bond with it and snow white was getting crazy because of the mirrors disturbances and had to send it away only for Ravenna's exiled sister Freya awakening it again
Bring these kinds of movies back
All the Woman Actresses in this Movie have an really beautiful Performance and outfits.
The sound design in this scene is amazing
Well someone clearly wasn't paying attention to the movies if that's your take on it.
@@firesong7825 Someone clearly dont realize the mirror is a evil artefact and it lies... no reason to believe in what it says
Love how for a brief moment Ravenna did feel bad for killing freya’s daughter, the first apology was genuine but she quickly backtracked
This franchise had great villains and great imagery. I remembered I stanned when they reimagined the mirror
this scene is full of art and looks so aesthethic love this scene and the witches!!
They wasted Emily. The sisters should of had a epic battle but what we got was not that at all.
The witches carried this movie/ franchise in their backs the leads were just there
This franchise had a lot of potential.. I honestly wouldn't have known about it
A bit of an under-rated film.
Sadly yes :,( It’s deserves more.
@@aksowlregind1957 yeah better war between the two
Freya is a very interesting character, she doesnt kill people that are innocent like her children. Yes, she keps them hostage for decades, but she never did kill any of them. But at the same time, she tells them to kill everyone coming their way. And at the end, she killed her own sister because she realised her sister framed her actual innocent lover and killed her daughter.
She didn’t kill her sister, she killed the mirror who control her sister.
Funny how Jessica Chastain (Sara) portrayed her role pretty well as an adoptive daughter of Freya when in fact Emily Blunt is way younger than her in real life 😂
the movie would have been so much better if they focused on the sisters
When Freya used the last of her magic to freeze the mirror, I was so fucking proud🥰
Ravenna's power is so amazing, I wonder what it's called..
00:54 they've managed about 2-3 meters but their facial expressions have been climbing for years.
With this movie, the only two things that I wished were that the story focused more on the sisters and the second thing is showcasing the Ice queen’s powers. I feel like she could have put up WAYYY more of a fight against Ravenna.
I really wish they elaborated and choreographed the fight between the sisters ugh. Only wish I got to see more of them
There goes the CG effects budget!
Its all fun and games til the ice queen starts twitching her finger lmao 😂
This Combo lives in my head rent free... Somedays I wish they could make another one😂
Wow and we thought their relationship couldn’t get better. Poor baby though like wtf child abuse.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all ? That line is the one I like in the movie.
Just finished the movie and I’m crying my eyes out over Freya’s death. She should have lived
Life's not fair....
I’m okay I’m not

Nothing stronger than a mom's love. Emily Blunt never disappoints.
Just imagine charlize as the enchantress 💀. She is just iconic 👏👏👏
Ravenna really made Freya strong. Despite becoming a grrief driven and evil, she was able to fight for what she really love and gain back what she has lost until the end.
Chris Hemsworth always slays the final boss fight with the power of his axe, here he used the mirror breaker.
The actor for Thor as the huntsman was genius
Freya is the real beauty,❄️She’s really beautiful.🤍And OMG her voice.♥︎♥︎
Is Freya the ice queen
I pray everyone heals from the things no one ever apologized for.
Wow! It's true!!!!
Wow good ear! Thank you so much for this nugget 😍😍
Charlize is so iconic. Actually, the whole cast ate, they were great.
The special effects and visuals of this film were awesome! 😮
Also, random thought - did anyone else think the mirror voice sounded like the Overmind from Starcraft? 😂
Came to the comments section looking for this exact statement
The only thing that frustrates me about this film is the fact that the snow Queen did not survive. She could have Changed And done some good again. Plus emily blunt played the hell out of that role and she deserved to survive.
What I never understood was how the mirror knew that Freya’s daughter would grow up to be more beautiful than Ravenna. It wasn’t able to do this for Snow White while she was growing up. It only acknowledged that was more beautiful than Ravenna once she became an adult.
because Freya's daughter would grow up to be more beautiful than Snow White.
Up until now i'm still in love with Freya💙💙, quite a pity she died as villainess (or maybe an anti-hero)
