I like how freya's character was being portrayed in this movie, she was never really bad, she was just driven to bitterness and grief after what happened to her daughter and her heart turned cold. But in the end, it was clear that she really loved her children.

You know, Freya easily froze the mirror from a distance, enough for it be shattered by an axe when frozen. Makes me think that she did not hug Ravenna to freeze and kill her, but I think that hug was more of her attempt at trying to appeal to Ravenna's humanity to stop her.

Freya went mad after speaking the spell engraved in the mirror, she invoked Ravenna.
*And from that moment on she began having an internal conflict: Ravenna and Freya were both using Freyas body (her vessel) and the scenes are cryptic*
Ravenna appearing out of nowhere, telling Eric she missed him, and he made a weird face.
All her soldiers making faces when she was delivering her speech, etc.
In other words; why is the queen speaking in different voices and acting differently?
      Ravenna was possessing Freya.

Ravenna once again got some part of herself out of there so they could make a third movie but at this point (just my opinion) they’ve ruined any good story that could happen. What I like about THIS mirror is what he said to the snow Queen’s sister:
“I ask nothing. I am, but a reflection…and YOU have already decided.”
The mirror is merrily exactly what it says. It is a reflection that takes form and tells whom ever summons them. She has no else to blame but herself, and I think the mirror knew by then just how evil of beauty this woman was hiding.
It’s bad enough that she made her sister lose her husband, but making HIM do the dirty work, killing her sister’s baby and letting him take the fall for her.

The Florence and the Machine song from the first movie, "Breath of Life", also goes along well with her speech here. She started out wanting to be a good and fair queen to her people, as well as being a loving and loved wife and mother. But her heart had become so dark with evil and self-love that she was beyond redemption. She was even deluded to think that her actions were part of a "higher/divine calling". So she basically said to herself: "I might just as well be the most beautiful queen the world has ever known, as well as the most evil."

The mirror itself says 'i am nothing' and clarifies that it's nothing more than an echoing chamber that simply reflects what people are. Perhaps it's the fact that only vain and cruel people are able to get a hold of people that this keeps happening. I wonder if the mirror itself is sick and tired of all the bullshit it's been forced to look back at. He certainly sounds like it.

I decided to rewatch this on a lark; and holy shit, I just discovered something really cool!!! At around 2:17 (though it really picks up and becomes obvious at like 2:40), while we're getting the backstory on the whole child-killing thing; there's a melody in the soundtrack. High note, lower note. High note, two lower notes. And it repeats really subtly. Why am I bringing this up? Because for those of you who remember Sleeping Beauty (the animated film made in 1959); there's the scene where Aurora is being led up the secret passageway in the fireplace by Maleficent to her curse. And the EXACT SAME FREAKING MELODY, THE SAME MOTIF PLAYS!!!!! High note, lower note. High note, two lower notes. Look up the scenes and listen if you think I'm wrong.
Can I just say I love composers? They're really cool people who like to do this a lot.
