Something I noticed upon a second viewing of the movie: you can clearly see the personalities and priorities of different characters right from the beginning. Ikaris starts by attacking the Deviant; he saves the kid in the process, but he's very clearly not interested in or focused on the kid at all. Ikaris only cares about the mission and has no real regard for humanity (or for his team, seeing as he abandons them to try and solo the winged Deviant). Makkari starts by saving the kid (who's only in danger again because of Ikaris' carelessness), and is consistently more invested in getting the humans out of danger than she is in fighting the Deviants. Even when she *is* fighting Deviants, it's more about helping her team than wracking up a kill count (she could *definitely* have knocked the Deviant charging Kingo off the cliff herself, but she just staggers it long enough for him to get a clean shot). She cares about the safety of humanity and her team more than anything, and it's obvious in hindsight that she and Ikaris would eventually come into conflict.
It’s stuff like this why Makkari is among the best Eternals. She’s just so pure and only ever has the best intentions. She even sympathizes with Tiamut after they stop his emergence. For being a fighter, she has the absolute gentlest of souls.
That's a good observation, but I have to point out that while Ikaris doesnt really care about humans, he does care about his team. That's why he looked for them in the film, after killing Ajax. Just to keep them safe from the Deviants while the hatching of Tiamut is on the way so they can leave together eventually.
I can't stop watching this scene, the soundtrack is awesome, and the action sequence is great. I love how this 3 minute scene introduces all 10 eternals and shows each of their abilities (except for Sprite, which could have easily been shown as she floats down from the ship, waving her hands to uncloak the domo). Also when they all stand together, it shows the 5 thinkers on the right and the 5 fighters on the left.

Am I the only one who actually liked the movie? I’m kinda shocked that people didn’t like it. It has comedy, action, romance, and a plot twist like every other marvel movie. It deserves slot more attention and love imo.
I really enjoyed it, and while it isn’t the best Marvel movie, it’s not even close to being the worst. I love the superhero genre but it was great to get something different than the usual repeated formula. Having said that, I feel it would’ve benefited from being a series, so the characters could be fleshed out a bit more, which is why some people had problems, but I loved it

That’s why they used sign language. If you want to know why the character is deaf, well while it is never confirmed, I have seen a theory that I think could explain it. Makkari when using her super-speed she is not affected by the sonic boom that accompanies her cosmic running, implying that her being being able to hear, could possibly hinder the usage of her powers. Since all the externals were created, this would therefore make sense as a design choice by the celestials.

The first nine minutes of this movie proves that it is one of Marvels' best movies. You really need to watch this with a very open mind as it will surprise you.
I personally love Sersei’s character. She’s intelligent, curious, nurturing, compassionate and also a total badass. She’s a well written character, with traits that you don’t typically see in superhero movies.
I love her but I wish they gave her more nuances. The other Eternals seem to be more well rounded (Makkari havibg interest in artifacts, Kingon loving the spotlight). Aside from loving humans, what other things is Sersi into?
I really liked ETERNALS, it was almost not a superhero film but about Gods and their creators. The cinematography, score, etc was on WB level of production in terms of quality - like recent films Dune, The Suicide Squad, Doctor Sleep, and of course DC films akin to Man of Steel, ZSJL, etc - but the pacing was a bit off between characters and their motivations, and lacked some character development but they do have a really good foundation and bunch of characters for a sequel, so I welcome ETERNALS 2. This is a film that felt more matured, focused on plot instead of packing in action, Gods essentially trying to be more human in their justification as to stop Tiamut, like the Gods of Olympus trying to stop Cronus from destroying Earth. Zhao' direction was great for this kind of MCU film; but 500 critics give it 48% compared to 10000+ viewers whom gave it 78% on RT, fan and viewer reactions matter more, they always have. A bad review hardly stops me from seeing a film.
I agree with literally everything you said, it might actually be my favorite because of it's theme and cinematography like you said feeling like a WB DC film. I love this movie alot and would love an eternals 2

Eternals just became my no. 1 MCU movie. I love everything about it. Stories about the creation of life, lores and mythology is something I find very fascinating, that’s why I love Prometheus as well. Can’t wait to see more of the Eternals ❤️
What say you about Moonfall? Wasn’t perfect either. Had more flaws than Eternals. But people missed the fact that for the first time in cinematic history, we have Dyson Spheres and the Kardechev Scale utilized. It was amazing to see that! What humanity could be like in the distant future.
I really really enjoyed this movie. Great visuals, I liked the plot, good action scenes, much more grandiose tone to other Marvel flicks. Plus I'll take more Celestial action any day so cool to see them on screen.

i gotta say, i recently rewatched this movie and it felt MUCH better than the first time. the scene at 2:20 is as good as it can get, the score is just majestic and divine, very fitting to these higher beings.
It's probably because people don't even wanna watch a boring marvel movie, but to some of us, including me, we wanna just enjoy something, and yeah, it definitely is underrated.
They were fantastic. I think this film was way under-rated. The second time I watched it I rated it 3 points higher on a scale from 1-10. So much subtlety and confusion that was there, on purpose, because of deception the characters fell for, and thus, we did the first time through.

Wow in the book of Enoch: part of the Apocrypha. It describes the Angels of heaven who came down to Earth to teach mankind the mysteries of heaven, against the will of God. They taught divination and forms of what we know to be Magic. They also taught man the construction of weapons from heaven. What a weird parallel this is.
1)Be not a minister of the word. Discern their dark/hidden meaning. 2)Perfect love drives our all fears. Don't feed fear and don't consume it either. 3) The bible is not the first or only book to describe such things.
Those people who gave a low rating in this movie, did not really understand what the movie is trying to protray. It's one of the most beautiful movie Marvel Studios ever created. You just need to focus more on the story, then eventually you'll know the true message or what the movie offers a new perspective on the phase 2 of the avengers or even a perspective in our own reality.

It's probably because people don't even wanna watch a boring marvel movie, but to some of us, including me, we wanna just enjoy something, and yeah, it definitely is underrated.

there’s one thing this movie does better than a lot of mcu movies nowadays is the cinematography, visuals and the cgi . truly feel more unique.

I smiled so brightly when i recognised Time by Pink Floyd.
This wasn’t a bad movie or even a bad addition to the MCU it just hard to make it fit.
This movie is beautiful and ambitious. It's visual high art.
I seriously hope we at the very least see more of Sersei, Kingo, and Phastos in the MCU. They legitimately felt like the heart and soul of this movie.
They were fantastic. I think this film was way under-rated. The second time I watched it I rated it 3 points higher on a scale from 1-10. So much subtlety and confusion that was there, on purpose, because of deception the characters fell for, and thus, we did the first time through.
The second I heard the first riff of Time I knew it would be my favorite Marvel movie

best cast and my favourite movie! marvel fans just wanted something flashy and funny action they weren't ready for this movie. the Director won an oscar and she did an amazing job.
Wow in the book of Enoch: part of the Apocrypha. It describes the Angels of heaven who came down to Earth to teach mankind the mysteries of heaven, against the will of God. They taught divination and forms of what we know to be Magic. They also taught man the construction of weapons from heaven. What a weird parallel this is.
Not weird,it's going to repeat. Just watch as the end of days further unfolds
1)Be not a minister of the word. Discern their dark/hidden meaning.
2)Perfect love drives our all fears. Don't feed fear and don't consume it either.
3) The bible is not the first or only book to describe such things.
I really liked this Movie, I even watched it twice!
Those people who gave a low rating in this movie, did not really understand what the movie is trying to protray. It's one of the most beautiful movie Marvel Studios ever created. You just need to focus more on the story, then eventually you'll know the true message or what the movie offers a new perspective on the phase 2 of the avengers or even a perspective in our own reality.
