Yeah, so I spent over 3 hours today just trying to get 3 Logitech webcams to work together in OBS for this video. If that doesn't deserve a like I don't know what does...😅
i know this is off- topic but how do i see my total viewers? like that have visited my stream? i haven't started streaming yet but 2 people have been on my channel and i'm just curious who it is.
First video I've watched of yours, well done! Very thorough, slickly and cleanly presented. I also love for comparison you throw in a $500+ camera, just to show all the contestants who's boss 😂
Regarding the problem mentioned at 6:30 As I understand it (I've also personally experienced this), the issue is in the software being used. If you use the old "Logitech Gaming Software," or the default software, to control the cameras, it will cause the settings to be "forgotten" or "reset" upon reboot. The fix for this is to download and setup the "Logitech G Hub," which is a newer (using the term loosely) software that allows the control of multiple cameras/devices individually, and at the same time. The downside to using this software is it will default all settings for cameras (and other Logitech devices) that you allow it to start controlling, requiring time spent to set everything back up the way you had it, before.
The other use for the streamcam's rotation feature is when you have to clip the camera to the side of a monitor. Then you can reorientate the camera can shoot in landscape while clipped to the side of a monitor.
Biggest issue found with the 920 is the focus. Auto focus is turned off and it still goes out of focus from time to time while live streaming. Looking forward to your final review of the new elgato cam
Portrait mode might be used, as you mentioned on TikTok and Instgram, but also on Facebook. Stabilization might be important for IRL streamers and that's why the USB-C cable - to connect to your phone? Maybe?
FINALLY a reviewer that also points out - PROPERLY - the downsides of a product. I would say the image quality between the 920 and Streamcam were significant though. So, StreamCam will be my first streaming camera. Yay :) And thanks!
Just adjust BRIO white balance and you have best quality webcam (looks like you wanted BRIO look bad compare to StreamCam). StreamCam looks like C920 with very small improvement and 4x price. Funny that Logitech can not compete with their own 8 years old product.
Image stabilization actually sounds like it would be good for my setup when playing racing games. I have my monitors on a mount that clamps to my desk and due to the size/layout of my space I have to mount my wheel and shifter to my desk as well. So there can be a bit of movement for the monitors, which would also be moving any webcam attached to them. Thanks for this comparison video! I was literally just about to run to Best Buy to get a cam for streaming when I saw this!!!
What about being able to mount the camera vertically instead of horizontally and being able to rotate the camera to keep the image normal. Portrait mode could be useful for this.
The portrait mode could be handy for green screen streamers? We don't want the background, so if you have just You visible with no room background then I think the portrait mode could be handy, I think I'd use it :)
Awesome video as always! One of my older C920s have been stuttering a lot so I had to swap my secondary one to become my main. I noticed the StreamCam was introduced to the market and was waiting for a comparison video and I knew this channel would be a reliable source. Thank you!
Thanks for the comparison video ... I wanted to get the Brio, because it has "Windows Hello" and an USB C Plug so I can use different cable lengths. But now I am even more unsure what to get. :D
I've had the streamcam for a few months and I love it but I'm also mad that WHY WHY and WHY logi didn't make the cable detachable? It's a great little webcam but the cable is annoying. Easy to use, decent image quality.
The reverted settings bug also exists in the Logitech C922 - for example set zoom, pan and tilt in OBS/OBS.Live and have to do it all again after reboot. Have read a few comments here and saw a mention of Logitech G Suite which I will be taking a look at regardless of having to reconfigure from scratch because this issue has had me pulling hair for ages - thanks for that comment and appreciate the great review done here 👍
Im going to try and post my first RUclips video this Sunday. You really helped thanks. I ended up going with the c920 really the other webcams for the price aren't worth it especially since the webcam on screen is small and probably going to be outputted in 720p for new streamers
To be fair, vertical mode CAN be useful, especially now that RUclips and several other platforms have "shorts" and twitter has stories, all of which are vertical, so recording via the streamcam in vertical makes it seem like they were future proofing and preparing for that. Also, I've seen several art streamers (myself included) who like to have a vertical frame for their camera and normally have to use some manual crop to adjust the image down, so it's actually a nice touch. And depending on how you have your camera mounted, if it's mounted to the table, and your table is susceptible to a little bit of shake as you type, you do notice a LITTLE bit of camera shake on the c920, so image stabilization on the StreamCam is actually a pretty cool feature that most people don't think about. You don't care about image stabilization until you notice in editing that you're typing that's causing your camera image to wobble a little. In terms of product name... unless you REALLY know what you're getting, if you're getting into the streaming or content creation game, knowing the differance between the c920, c922, brio and all the other numbers Logitech have brought out... "StreamCam" is incredibly easy to remember, so I think the name works and I don't see this camera needing to be updated for another 5 years, so it's a name that works and sits well for a few years.
yes its exactly what im explaining upstairs. you can use it in your phone to improve stuff even... maybe for him is useless (and much other reviewers, is not the 1st that say that) buy people with imagination, could be VERY useful
This new product have great tweaks about webcams that I liked. But I still prefer the FoV of brio. The problem with brio seems to be in the software that comes out of the box completely unbalanced. I always need to change te color temperature, exposition, and even gain to obtain a good image. This new StreamCam seems do be a regular webcam with the software issues from Brio, fixed.
The annoying thing about the C920 settings bug is that it carried over into the C922 as well. Every time I restart OBS Studio, or the PC, I have to reset the camera properties for zoom, pan, tilt, lighting, etc. However, it would have been interesting to see you run the comparison using the C922 instead of the C920 - the C922 is closer to the price band of the Brio and Streamcam.
Before even watching it, based on the streamcam advertisements I've seen, I believe the BRIO is better webcam (disregarding the DSLR). I just wish the white balance was better without adjustments.
@@NamFlow yeah the white balance and overexposure issues are a problem but the FOV is pretty important for a streamer. Also, the visual issues can be "fixed" by changing some settings
Stabilizer make sense for someone with a tablet (Surface Pro 7 , Surface Go 2 , iPads & so on with USB-C ) also there are apps for phones for live streaming with usb cameras
The streamcam (two years later) is now $99 new. The only thing I don't like about it is the short, short cable. You can't attach an extender to it unless you want a LOT of lag. That's it
The Sony is by far, superior BUT...the 920 seems to be a magnificent balance between price, practicle function and size, and quality. I can see why it's such a popular camera choice. Thanks for the extensive review.
This was an awesome super engaging, fun, interesting & insightful video as per usual, Pete! Thank you for going into an extensive level of detail during your testing for this comparison. 😁 👌 Cheers mate! 🍻
I honestly can't believe this is the best they could do. I personally feel the c922 looks better straight outta the box. I'd not be surprised if it was the same exact sensor. Save your money. Get the c920 or c922. This thing isn't worth $160!
man, I think StreamCam has much better quality than c922. Plus 60fps. It's dope. I just wish there were cams in between both... But I refuse hang at low quality c920.
This was a super helpful video: to the point; visual comparisons; well produced. I'm researching webcams for a nascent niche academic RUclips channel with a friend, and the different Logitech models had been bugging me for a while. I think the Streamcam so far seems the best option...
I think what tips the Brio's price more is the Windows Hello support. It's got additional IR sensors needed for facial recognition. The streamcam doesn't support Windows Hello in spite of having a better image closer to the mirrorless camera.
Very good comparison! A pity it doesn't cover the C930. I upgraded from the C920 to C930 and was pretty happy with the jump in quality. Less noise, more detail, more accurate colour, and a wider field of view. Downside to the C930 though is the auto exposure that tries too hard. It overexposes when there's not much light. You end up being able to see more in a dark room but things like a streamer's face get blown out. I'd be keen to see a full comparison, but at a guess the C930 sits somewhere in the middle of the 920 and the StreamCam.
I like the possibility to stream with the non landscape mode. I stream with my cam cropped almost to a square because my room is really small and I don’t want the viewers see white walls on the sides. But I would like to see a bit more up and down the screen, that my viewers can see more of my decorations in the back above me. So I think the new view mode would be perfect for me.
Gaming isn't the only streaming going on. It maybe pretty popular, but there's a lot more content out there. @7:50 I'm a (primarily creative) streamer and I prefer my face cam to be portrait mode. I know of several others who do the same. @8:00 Several streamers I know personally use webcams on backpack rigs to livestream while out in the world.
The huge difference between the StreamCam and every other webcam on the market is the StreamCam's tight field of view while most other cameras emphasize their wide angle. It is even tighter when you use the Auto Framing feature in the Logitech Capture software that works with it. With Auto Focus, the StreamCam zooms in on you and keeps you in full view at all times regardless of where you are behind the computer. I prefer this for Zoom and other meetings. There is no benefit in showing the stuff behind me. If I am sitting back with my feet on the desk, the StreamCam still shows my head and shoulders and makes it look like I am sitting directly behind the monitor. The close up is great for the little picture typical for a participant in Zoom or when another screen is the primary focus of a presentation. It would be too much for a typical RUclips video of a single person. In that case, extra background would look better. I would buy a StreamCam again for the way I use it. If a tight field of view is not your primary interest in a WebCam, you should buy anything else.
I agree with all of your points 100%, except the portrait mode. I actually see quite a few people, myself including, cropping the webcam to portrait mode these days. I would definitely say it's a growing trend. Is it massively used? Not yet, but it certainly has a potential and I personally would use it and I know a few other streamers that would as well.
Decided to just use my Samsung S21 Ultra via the Iriun app. At 1920x1080 it seems to do an amazing job compared to the small megapixel webcams out there. The phone does all the processing and correction much better and I haven't experienced the lag people seem to complain about (perhaps that is due to having a good router). I think phone AI and processing is king. Even if the argument for mirrorless being better because it has a depth of field due to the lens my counter argument is third party phone lenses such as moment.
Thanks for the side by side comparison. Streamcam vs the DSLR is noticable, but not enough to pay more than double. It's a nice upgrade to shoot for when I make it big, though.
How are you changing your settings? The new "Logi" thing won't let me do any advanced settings on my Streamcam. The "tripod" mount for it is flimsy. My 922Pro looks much better
The vertical/portrait is something I've been looking for my business. I prefer to save and edit the file on a much more powerfull machine than on my mobile
Great video! Im sticking to my brio, love the wide view, high resolution. The colors are off out of the box ut nothing i couldnt fix with some OBS tweaking when first setting it up :)
@@ModernLifeDating you rightclick the camsource in obs, choose "filters". And then add the filter called "color correction" i believe :) here is an article with steps and pictures: streamshark.io/obs-guide/color-correction
Very cool video, exactly what I was looking for with great information and testings, bonus was the comparison to the a5100 as well. Awesome thanks again!
Excellent video, and EXACTLY what I was looking for. The Brio and the StreamCam are about the same price atm. I do wonder how the Elgato FaceCam compares.
Dude, your videos are awesome, top quality! Thanks for making this comparison, i'm considering the StreamCam for my streams but i'm just starting out tho 😊
I was looking at ways to set up for a streaming rig. I decided the best way would be to use a HD-SDI camera with a prime lens and an hd-sdi to RTSP stream converter. then streaming the RTSP stream to a separate PC that has Xsplit or OBS. Then have an hdmi converter from the gaming rig streaming to the streaming rig. that way it takes all processing off the gaming rig. HD-SDI cameras can be had for less than the stream cam and have better quality and are a much more professional solution.
Fantastic review. Making the jump to a new Webcam / Streamcam and at todays price can get the Logitech C922 just barely north of $100 US and I'd imagine the USB C and better throughput. That Save settings is a must also for those you set these up for don't want to have to reset every restart. -thx
This is the video I needed! Now I decided to get the c920 but it is like double the price on amazon, the prices are just crazy now, at least here in México
Edit: I have it now and the colors look awesome! I got it for less than its cost on amazon but then amazon lowered by 20$ than the price that I bought it lol
This only my own opinion, but at 3:31 when the comparison between the Streamcam and the C920, the skin is all red, like a sunburn on the Streamcam. If someone was standing in front of me, my real skin tone is the same as the C920 example, which is what I prefer. I don't want to be saturated or darkened or modified, like they do to models, just want to show up as myself. In all examples shown here, the C920 example is the looks I would want. Just my preference.
Sony A5100 is a clear winner here. If you are tight on a budget just find a used one in a good condition. Now I have a question - what is the best prime E-mount lens for streaming/vlogging when camera is placed behind your monitor in a several feet from your face?
Great review. How did you get the "looking straight into the camera" look in the later part of your review? What camera was used for that part? How was it mounted for you to stare right into it?
You could also stream on a GoPro Hero 7 Black or the 8 if you anyone has those. It does require a cam link but the quality of it is super good. I say it’s slightly better than the StreamCam
Thanks for the video. Great comparison! Are we in agreement that the Streamcam has the best image quality out of the box for a webcam (without tweaking)?
Great channel. I just bought it. I thought to many was going way to hard on it. Its abit confusing to use with OBS and Logitect capture at same time for me though. But its a real good cam, especially with the auto framing.
Silly question here, but you can turn off the mic function on any of these and use a Shure mic with audio interface for the audio portion, right? Well done video!
I literally just bought the brio, am having issues with lag on everything, on my m1 mac, probably an apple issue. I watched your video and I literally just packed up the brio and am returning it. Not sure if ill get the stream cam but you just proved to me this camera is not that great xD
Yeah, so I spent over 3 hours today just trying to get 3 Logitech webcams to work together in OBS for this video. If that doesn't deserve a like I don't know what does...😅
Any recommendation for an inexpensive lens for the a5100 that's better than the one it came with?
Yes you can stream to Instagram from desktop.... I’ve tested it and it works. yellowduck.tv

This is how you make a guide. 10/10, thank you for putting so much time into such a great guide!
What is the device you are using to control lighting? Nice review! I was considering Brio, but I stand with StreamCam,
it looks like the ElGato StreamDeck XL... i may be wrong though
Great video! Im sticking to my brio, love the wide view, high resolution. The colors are off out of the box ut nothing i couldnt fix with some OBS tweaking when first setting it up :)
hey how did you tweak the settings in OBS? I need to do that.
@@ModernLifeDating you rightclick the camsource in obs, choose "filters". And then add the filter called "color correction" i believe :) here is an article with steps and pictures:

Very cool video, exactly what I was looking for with great information and testings, bonus was the comparison to the a5100 as well. Awesome thanks again!
Great video! Helped me a lot to realize I don’t need the streamcam, the c920 will do the job! Thanks much ✌️
Excellent video, and EXACTLY what I was looking for. The Brio and the StreamCam are about the same price atm. I do wonder how the Elgato FaceCam compares.
THE best review I found. Definitely getting c920 since I didn't see much difference with StreamCam + money wise it is more affordable.
Thanks a lot for comparing Brio and StreamCam!
Thanks for the review! Can you share as well where you got your key light?
Superb video! Good to see your channel is growing consistently, I’ve been watching your content for a while because you cut through the BS
Fantastic review. 10/10, thank you for all the work you put in here.
Brilliant review! The StreamCam looks awesome!
This is an excellent comparison. Thanks for putting it together.
Fantastic review. Making the jump to a new Webcam / Streamcam and at todays price can get the Logitech C922 just barely north of $100 US and I'd imagine the USB C and better throughput. That Save settings is a must also for those you set these up for don't want to have to reset every restart. -thx
I stream with Brio in 4k 30FPS on my twitch channel so... :D downscaled by pc to HD but it see better quality and better greenscreen works.
They're $99 in Canada right now
Great video. Congrats. Would it be a good idea to use an iPhone 11 Pro Max or iPhone 12, Pro Max, as the external camera instead?
This only my own opinion, but at 3:31 when the comparison between the Streamcam and the C920, the skin is all red, like a sunburn on the Streamcam. If someone was standing in front of me, my real skin tone is the same as the C920 example, which is what I prefer. I don't want to be saturated or darkened or modified, like they do to models, just want to show up as myself. In all examples shown here, the C920 example is the looks I would want. Just my preference.
Thank you so much for this great comparison video ❤ what mirrorless camera setup are you using?
Sony A5100 is a clear winner here. If you are tight on a budget just find a used one in a good condition. Now I have a question - what is the best prime E-mount lens for streaming/vlogging when camera is placed behind your monitor in a several feet from your face?
Stabilizer might be good for IRL (in real life) streams? Walk n Talk?
You’re gonna walk around with a laptop and a webcam 😂
CJ46 - Phones can do that.
@@timtrottproductions yeah so that's why it's stupid the webcam has stabilization
Great Job! Would have liked to see the 930e in there, instead of the C920, but anyway, great job.
Great review. How did you get the "looking straight into the camera" look in the later part of your review? What camera was used for that part? How was it mounted for you to stare right into it?
Love the videos I always make sure to like.
Keep up the great content
You could also stream on a GoPro Hero 7 Black or the 8 if you anyone has those. It does require a cam link but the quality of it is super good. I say it’s slightly better than the StreamCam
Streamcam looks better then the c920 but the c920 can look just as good with some obs filters and manual adjustments. Great video
How is the green screen quality on this? I noticed on the 920 and 922 you tend to get a lot of background artifacts on a white screen.
Cheers for the Review Pete. I have the C920 & C922. Have you ever considered S
DSLR?
Really useful, nice one!
great job! this is the best review I have seen!
Great video! You helped me make my decision, thank you!
