I love the quiet of this movie. No distracting CGI, no blaring soundtrack. You're just left all alone to experience the abject terror.
One of the most terrifying lines in a horror movie "Because you were home." .... no motive. No reason. Just because they could
"Because you were home" terrifies me more than any other line in any other horror movie.
Your line of: "...I'm all about education." when it comes to bad people trying to do this stuff in the country was just perfect. Reminds me of the sign that says:
"No trespassing!
Trespassers will be shot!
Survivors will be shot *AGAIN!* "
If you haven't seen it, yet...PLEEEAAASE react to "The Others" starring Nicole Kidman!!!
Yes please!❤
Yes please I hope he does 🙏💖
YESSSS!!!!
Oh hell yeah!!!!! Please please!
I asked the same thing!! yes!!
This film is absolutely cold-blooded. The casual sadism on display here is enough to linger in the mind for a long time, and the overall atmosphere of it was one of the most grim and confrontational I'd seen in any horror film of the 2000s.
You should review movies bruh… very well said
@@DJ_Cublol I actually do from time to time, but not professionally. I'm trying to actually MAKE movies, myself!

Brother, it is criminal that you don't have way more subscribers! You have one of the most entertaining and real reaction channels on RUclips.
I remember seeing this in theaters with my friend and he and I were bored. Everyone was being dumb. None of that would have happened with either of us. It would have been a short movie for us. Dude chopping the front door would have gotten an ass full of buckshot before he knew I had a shotgun. We would have been calling the cops in the morning to collect 3 bodies. "Yeah, we met some folks that wanted to find out." Regardless of all that, I liked the video and reaction as always. I'm always here for whatever you guys watch. Keep up the great work team EOM!
As a Kentuckian, you're RIGHT! "You can play this game if you want to! Ding-Dong-Ditch ya DEAD!" I always relate to your roots.
💯! I’m a Kentuckian too, and we don’t play them games!
WV girl here & he is 100% right! Plus, I’ve got kids, so I DEFINITELY am not fucking around.
SO excited for this one!! This was really the first movie to make me feel scared/uneasy as an adult.
It will never ever get old hearing J talk tough during these types of movies and then see him jump at the things he does. Love it! 😂😂😂
If it wasn’t for the audio in the headphones I would never jump lol. Notice in some of the videos when stuff explode or suppose to scare I don’t jump. That’s because the volume is low in those movies. If I watched this in the living room y’all would be like damn why don’t he jump any more. - J
"Why are you doing this to us?"
"Because you were home."
Pure evil.
" Because you were home" One of the most chilling lines in horror. As they want nothing but the chaos, violence and death they seek. @JL Always a treat good Sir
As a country Texan I can tell everyone EOM ain't lyin'. Would have been a 5 minute movie if this happened in the Bible Belt Country.
"For every childbirth they give you a shotgun" 😂 the mental image of a doctor handing a mother a shotgun while she holding her newborn has me 💀
That’s what I got for my first birthday. A shotgun 😂😂
I’m from Alabama.
"get shot if ya want too!" love it, lmao
The jloween intro music is perfect
Had to watch this movie like 5 times before I realized that the pickup truck was following them home in the beginning
I don’t find supernatural movies scary, well except for The Exorcist. I find these kind of Horror films a lot scarier because it can actually happen to you and anyone you know. Their is absolutely terrifying human beings walking around waiting for an opportunity. Because they were home, it just meant to me, they most likely knocked on a few doors before someone answered.
“I’m over here tryna make a kid deposit.”
“Ding-Dong Dixie end up dead in a box.”
“You better find a corner.” LMFAAAAAAAOOOOOO PLS HE’S CREATIVE🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ding dong dixie😂 DEAD
You killed me. Thank you.
I loved how jump scared you were getting over the knocks on the door😂.
I live in a part of Lexington where it could be a deer, a murderer, a coyote, a prankster, a prison escapee, a raccoon, or a possum at the door so a gun is necessary 😂😂
I loved the atmosphere with this movie but man, it still bothers me how he had the upper hand having that shot-gun and still fucked it up lol.
I don’t like slasher films but I watched this premiere to support the channel. That jump scare of JL’s at the end made it totally worth it.
Slasher films are the best
I think the creepiest part was when that first girl says "I'll see you later." That should have been a warning sign...Always a reminder for all of us to please keep your doors locked, especially at night, and definitely do not open the door if you don't know who it is.
This movie scared you so bad your ‘hood came out. I was dying the whole time. I never rewatch this movie, but bro, this was fun. I’ve always said I’ll face ghost, demons, bears or lions, but people? NO THANKS. People are vicious.
I don't answer the door past midnight. ain't fuck all good that's going to happen from answering the door late at night. hell even 10, 11 is too late. I've got a ring camera and I'm still not opening that shit. it's not like you're going to open the door and have someone go "WOW YOU WON A MILLION DOLLARS FOR OPENING!" nah, you're getting shot and or robbed and or stabbed.
I miss seeing the copilots on the bed so much, but that jump scare at the end was great lol😂
Drogo not able to get up there anymore so Rom just lay next to him most times. We trying to figure out how to get him back up there - J
@@EOMReacts we have stairs that were made for our dog to get up in the bed. Ours isn't 100 pounds like Drogo, but it might be an option if you know someone that could make some industrial strength stairs.
This movie scared the shit out of me. Their silent stalking is absolutely terrifying 😂
Oh man could I really use an EOM reaction on my work break to pick me up. Done deal!
27:00 PREACH!!!... F around and find out.
That's how we handle 💩.
This is the absolute best channel for horror reactions. Shit was hilarious.
I know right the first time I found him was when he watched The conjuring. J is the best. The goat
Another intense home invasion movie that will give you a heart attack: WAIT UNTIL DARK. A doll stuffed with heroin ends up in Audrey Hepburn’s apartment. Three thugs want it and what begins as a hustle gradually evolved into an intense battle of wits. Make sure to turn off the lights during the last 10 minutes.
I grew up watching horror movies (literally since I was a YOUNG child) so it's extremely hard for me to get scared from a movie. I fell asleep in the theater during 'The Ring'. I still don't understand its appeal. The whole movie is just this woman doing research. Anyway, I watched this with my mom as an adult, who got me into horror movies in the first place, pretty soon after it came out. We were home alone at night. Both of us were absolutely terrified because of how realistic it was. People actually do stuff like this. I'll never forget hearing, "because you were home", and my mom and I immediately looked at each other in horror and she goes, "well...we're home...". It was so bone-chilling that there is no rhyme or reason to do this to people, other than the pleasure of terrorizing and watching people die. Absolutely horrific.
“Supernatural” horror isn’t TRULY scary in a lot of cases because your rational mind knows it’s not real. Even if you are someone who believes in ghosts, demon possession, haunting etc, there’s still enough reasonable doubt to talk yourself down when you start thinking it could happen/is happening to you.
But stuff like this happens all the time. People end up murdered for no reason every day. Relationships go horribly wrong and end with one or both people dead. People snap. Mothers kill their children. Untreated mental illness leads to psychopaths who become full blown violent criminals. Any and every person walking around on earth right now has the potential to fall victim to these circumstances and what’s really unnerving is that the odds are higher for some than others. More often than not, we don’t know how high our own risk is compared to someone else.
Supernatural horror is creepy. Reality is scary. There’s a big difference that I don’t think horror writers and directors acknowledge enough in mainstream cinema. A lot of horror ends up being campy and more cartoonish than frightening. It takes a REALLY good story and impeccable execution to make it feel real and threatening. I personally think that taking advantage of the human mind as a character has much more potential to make a genuinely terrifying film and I think it can be used more efficiently than it has been in franchises like Halloween, Saw, Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc. The Strangers is a good example of how it could and should be done and even this is kinda campy to me in some ways. It was still well done and scared the bejeezus out of me and that is why it’s a classic.
This is why this form of horror is so unsettling to me. As much as supernatural horror can be terrifying it is the horrors that human beings can perpetrate on each other that are often at least as monstrous.
"Because you were home" is basically the encapsulation of this movie. And it's horrifying. People just looking to start shit with other people for no other reason than "because you were home" are just monstrous people. And they are asking for payback in the extreme. This movie is basically a movie about wanton boundary violation...for the pleasure of it. Truly sick.
Maaaaannnnn!! I watched this at home, at night while my husband was at work. I was absolutely horrified and literally sat on the edge of my bed, too tense to even lay down!!!! Excellent movie!!!
This movie doesn't work for me though because the main characters make such dumb decisions. I know it's hard to judge how someone would react in situations like the ones our main characters do in a slasher movie, but sometimes it feels like the only reason characters do the things they do is so the rest of the movie can happen. The Strangers is one of the worst examples of this.
Dear Jay:
So a couple of comments:
1) It was worth watching the whole video just to see that jump scare at the very end, because I knew that was going to get you!
2) In watching this reaction video I noticed something I can't quite figure out. The time sequence doesn't make sense.
I am very good at deciphering the time of year and timelines of movies partly because of my training in meteorology. At the beginning of the movie we see it's 4:05 am. Not long thereafter we see it's about 4:32 am. But the events that have passed in that time don't seem likely to happen in only 27 minutes - the guy left the house and came back. Where can you go and return from and do something important when your life is being threatened in only 27 minutes??? Jay, you later noticed how the ice cream had not melted. That's another time question. It seems unlikely that all of this could have happened before the sun rose, or at least before there was any dawn light in the sky. Notice how it's pitch black basically the entire movie until the ending scene when it's bright day.
We know from the intro this is based on real events from around February 11th. By that time of year the sun would be rising early enough anywhere in the USA such that there would be some light in the sky by around 6:30 am local time most anywhere. I just don't think all of this could have happened in the amount of night left before the sun rose.
3) Of all the movies I have ever seen this one has been one of the most disturbing. Why? Because it's plausible horror. Unlike supernatural horror for which Stephen King is well known this is a story of people being murderous to others, and for no reason other than "because you were home". I cannot easily watch this movie because it's basically a movie about boundary violation. As someone who was deeply traumatized I can tell you I would have been fighting back long before these two finally did. It's like they were almost inviting their attackers to victimize them as long as possible. Sheesh, STAND UP for yourself and fight back. The second time that girl shows up and asks for Tamara, after ALREADY being told nobody was there by that name, I would be calling the police. Who shows up at 4 am to ask for someone and then stands outside in the distance to look intimidating. CALL THE POLICE and/or get your gun out!
I personally really enjoyed watching the sequel once I first heard that the attackers from the first movie got a taste of their medicine. And I mean a strong taste!
Amazing to watch grown adults allow themselves to be victimized to the point of death.
And, yes, you can tell I have thought a lot about this movie! LOL. 😜😜😜😜😜😂
A fun and cool Halloween Movie: FALLEN 1998, Denzel Washington at the top ofhis game, truely charismatic lead actor, John Goodman , James Gandolfini (later Tony Soprano). even the puppies will love this movie. Spooky, a little scary, reqlly cool movie
They filmed it in my neighborhood my school yard was in it
I forgot all about Fallen! That was a great movie!
I'm not gonna lie, when I saw this I was positive the whole deal was orchestrated by the boyfriend as a way to emotionally manipulate her to 'need' him and thus forcing her to reconsider his marriage proposal.. 😂😂
If you hear from a distance "thanks for playing". You know its over for you.
That smoke detecter alarm fucked me up. Im sitting here like like im not even cooking pizza at 3 AM.
just found your channel past couple days and been binge watching your reactions. Great videos and you are hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂 I was looking for the quiet place 2 RUclips cut but didnt see it. Keep the reactions coming! 🔥
DollFace's actress appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as the mermaid singing "My Jolly Sailor Bold". Funnily enough, her character is credited as 'Tamara'.
I always laugh at the thought of Glenn Howerton rolling up with Danny Devito as their characters from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Frank would have just started blasting them with his guns. And Dennis would go into stalker mode. J if there's ever any chance of getting Always Sunny reactions on your channel, I'd absolutely love it.
Entire plot of this movie: "Let's fuck with people for a couple hours for absolutely no reason then stab them slowly." 😂😂😅
As someone who has snuck through my own house before, standing behind people and watching them...they don't always feel the eyes on them. To this day, I can slip into my dad's place, do my laundry, and leave without anyone noticing. Of course, my stepmother has terrible hearing, so it's easy with her.
Dont forget Mike coulda turned the damn music off too since his dumbass went in the house 😂🤷
This is my favorite scary movie!
I don't flinch at monsters, ghosts, demons, aliens, because they don't exist. But crazy people are out there and that makes this terrifying.
Can’t wait for this
She scared and traumatized the hell out of that lil kid at the end lol
Love that you watched this i was waiting...this is definitely in my top 5 horror/scary movie
My favorite reactor taking on The Strangers! This movie scared the bejeezus out of me. Now I’m going in for the kill and watch your reaction!
As a person from Texas, I can also confirm his statements are also correct. Hell, the people attempting this would be lucky if it was just a shotgun the person in the room had because in reality it would be about 5 different guns. Lol
You are very right. MOST of us in WV have one if not many guns lol (304)
I'm from Eastern, KY and ever word you said about us country folk is 💯 true!
If you liked this, check out "No Vacancy" with Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson... similar vibe but very different
I was just gonna say that!
Thanks for the video! Enjoyed it!
As a Canadian who mostly doesnt agree with guns, id still take whatever weapons the intruders had and send them to the hospital or to the lord with them lol
I’ve been waiting for this reaction!!! If u start it over u will notice when he proposes the truck pulls up in the background so they were followed
If somebody walks into a random house without announcing themselves isn't from the south and definitely didn't pay attention to Texas Chainsaw Massacre lol
3:01 - lmao. You always know something jacked up is on the way. This movie might be the scariest one of this years lineup.
That jump at the end was worth it.
Thank you so much for watching this, I had recommended it as well. I think it's creepy af because it's something that can actually happen.
I like the 2nd one too
Great reaction as always 😂 love this channel! Would you ever consider reacting to playing video games? I only ask because I’m sure I heard you mention before that you play sometimes. A horror video game series would be hilarious with you and the co pilots!
Coming soon 🤫 - J
I completely agree with you on multiple points. I would have barricaded myself and my loved one and waited for them. I'm glad I didn't watch this with my wife, I would have pissed her off by yelling at the TV. I have a bunch of weapons hidden in every room of my house, particularly for this awful situation.
Funny that the jump scare didn´t get me at all (for a change). I enjoyed how you jumped though! I agreed with you on most comments you made. But the way characters acted and responded was so implausible in far too many ways. I just chalk it up to it being a ridiculous script.
I'm here more for J than I am for the movie ! 😆😅😂🤣👏😎
Yess I will def be tuned in. I get off at 8 today too so this will be the perfect unwind before bed. Lol 😊
The Burger Chef murders in Indianapolis. 4 kids were rounded up around close at a fast food place and taken out in the woods and beaten & stabbed to death. My first girlfriends grandparents lived on a hill directly across those woods. It's in Greenwood, Indiana and it's never been solved
🎭 💫
Best jump scare ending
This was such a creepy and Erie film, and I loved every second of it. Liv was a B*** in this, homeboy proposed and she turned him down. I’ve never been in a relationship long enough to propose, but I think if I did and she said no. I don’t know how I would react, and the fact he stayed with her after the fact is 🤯 The Strangers were portrayed so well, barely had full dialogue which made it terrifying.
This reaction and Tucker and Dale both got me wanting J to watch Justified more than anything else. He would fkin love how country that shit is and man is it a banger of a show.
Another amazing reaction! One of my favourite movies! Thank you have the laughs!
The Fog-1980, not the remake. It sounds pretty bad, but is a great movie
Dennis Reynolds would have turned this around on the bad guys, not get shot. Sorry Mike. 😂
He would come down on them with the hammer of Thor, the thunder of his vengeance would echo through the halls of that house like the gust of a thousand winds and he rarely ever references the Nordic gods.
By this time my whole neighborhood is shooting out the windows and front doors at anything that moves. Shouting questions across the street. Y'all ok over there?
Any brotha or sista who wanting to leave the hood and live in suburban, better rethink your plans.
*Knock Knock*
*The Purge*
this film.
It is more safer to live in the hood than burbs as you already have your guard up. But in the subs, the beautiful surrounding will betray you enough to get your guard down.
This movie is part of the reason I like living in inner-city St. Louis. Yeah, it’s dangerous - but not in a taunting way. If you’re gonna get got, it probably won’t be some drawn out nightmare like this. Also, the police are usually within 2 blocks of my home dealing with some other bs, so I don’t even have to use my phone to call them. 😊
Lol. If you live in inner City Saint Louis, it's WHEN you're gonna get got, not IF. 😂
Dude I was thinking that I would back into a corner in this situation with a gun and then you said "She needs to find a corner" lol we on the same wavelength
I’m surprised you haven’t reacted to part two yet. The Strangers: Prey at Night
What do you use to edit your videos?? I love it.
Bro I agree with you 100% it doesn't matter if it's a friend or we need some type of situation like best are you going to get the New Yorker and I'm going to shoot first and ask questions like you always say you going folk lol
Crap man, new subscriber and frickin’ YT didn’t notify me. Double checked my ‘Flair’ though so, should be good!
Your right about living in the country. Lol. And farmers do get up early.
Another amazing reaction im just getting Caught up im almost to your newest video im so happy i found you from a star wars reaction cause your funny lit and you have the best vibes out of every reactor i seen i can honestly genuinely say i could watch only your videos for the rest of my life cause your that goated that good im gonna start sharing your videos on Twitter to hopefully get more people to your channel and hopefully they sub
My deceased partner hates this movie simply because it was scarier than a Jason or Freddy because it shows the deepest and most evil pathways of humanity. He said people do this crap, look at the Manson family
You used to get to pick from a new tv or a shotgun when you bought a new vehicle here. lol You just assume people have one because it's more weird if they don't. This movie was a lot better than I expected it to be, for sure. Great reaction as always~ Also, "Just because you were home," is indeed a scary answer. No real reason. Just bored and decided to kill some people.
As I recall this is extremely loosely based in a true story that happened to the director or something. Someone came to his door and asked for someone that didn't live there. He said as much and the guy left. Turns out, the guy eas ringing doorbells to see if anyone was home. If not, he would break in and rob the place. So the director thought...what if, instead of hoping people weren't home, the stranger wanted the house to be occupied. What if they weren't interested in stealing anything? "Because you were home."
Lol, J had the same reaction as me when I first saw this. I'm from Louisiana, as soon I had the shotgun, it would have been game over. You don't fuck around in the South with shit like this lol
Ya got that right fellow Southerner
This reminds me of When a Stranger Calls, which you should also check out
Most definitely, I forgot all about that movie
I am 100% with your assessment.
The ending jump scare got most of us J lol
Anyways great reaction bro, I love your videos...keep it up
I would have yelled, Hey I’m here, where are u?
Only just realised that’s Aragon’s girl in lord of the rings
I am a horror junkie to the core and have seen it all. This is the only movie that made me feel physically sick during that end scene. Sooooooo sick to my stomach!! The very slow stab and them taking turns and saying "because you were home". It was too real.
Now I know there wouldn't be a movie if it weren't for the characters doing stupid shit but it's still infuriating!!! You were spot on about getting a gun and sitting in a corner to wait! Unless you're one of those anti gun morons who think they'd be able to call for help and the police will take care of it🤦♀️. Then I also go crazy when people see a slashed or flat tire and think they can't drive that shit!! Of course you can still drive it!! I know it's just movies but I also know how many morons there are in this world who would make the same dumbass decisions!😤
You are spot on,and I'm sure you'd agree that it's hard to call the cops if none of the phones are working,so my advice....Dutch the anti-gun if you want to survive a situation like this one
Ditch not Dutch 🙄
@jonajohnson9138 Seriously? Have you never accidentally hit a wrong key before?
28:00 thought, you said according point earlier. It's the guy who got denied...this then becomes Scream, Happy Death Day...pretenders whose yourcenders.-Ernie Mm9re Jr.
Brother, I’m with u 100% on how to handle that situation.
Hipsters were doing "The Purge" before it became mainstream.
Vacancy with Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale!
This movie is great👍. Loved rewatching with you💖🐕🐕🐾🐾.
