The girl climbing out the tv and what you said is what still fucks with me about this movie when most others don't bother me. Well that and the context of your environment the first time you watched it. The first time I say this movie. I had recently moved to a desolate state in an even more desolate town that I had ever lived in my life. I didn't know the area very well. My boyfriend that did know the area was. An hr away at work. I had rented this movie to watch. It was about 3am. The first time they showed the well in the movie. I remembered there was one just like it with a lid on it and chain locked right outside my kitchen window. 🤦👀😳

The Ring scared me twice the first time I watched it. I was in the Navy at the time and our ship just returned from a deployment. A shipmate was nice enough to loan me the DVD for the evening. Half the ship was gone so I had the whole living space to myself. I turned off all the lights, hit play on the remote, and sat the remote on the arm rest of the couch. The movie ended and was pretty much spooked. Then I noticed a feature on the DVD called "Don't Watch This." I selected to the feature and placed the remote back down on the arm rest. The feature was just the video from the movie spliced with deleted scenes. As I am watching it the TV just turned off by itself. I froze and started looking for the remote. I thought maybe I could have hit the remote by accident or something. With arms resting on my lap, I slowly turned my head to see the remote still sitting on the arm rest. There's no way I accidentally hit it. I swiftly got up and got outta there. Found the shipmate that loaned me the DVD and told him what just happened. We had a laugh about.
With being said, love the channel! Love your reactions!

"I can't imagine being stuck down a well all alone like that. How long could you survive?"
    "Seven days."
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Tess Hall.
Location Location Fact: Seattle, Washington was chosen as the chief location of the film production because of its wet, isolated setting.
Killer Marketing Fact: Long before the movie premiered, the killer video was used as a commercial. The commercial did not mention any movie for nearly a month.
Shadowless Green Fact: For the choice of the film's color, it was decided that everything was to be tinged with the color green to give the film a sickly, unnatural feeling. Sets were also lit in a way that none of the characters have a shadow, to create an almost subconscious sense of creepiness.
Americanized Silliness Fact: The ring shape motif is unique to the American remake. Kôji Suzuki, the author of the novel upon which the movies are based, says that the title referred to the cyclical nature of the curse, since, for the viewer to survive after watching it, the video tape must be copied and passed around over and over.
Cursed DVD Fact: The "cursed" video is available as an easter egg on the DVD. Once the "video" has started playing, you can't stop it, pause it, fast-forward it, or return to the menu. Unless you turn off the TV, you're forced to watch the whole thing. When it's over, the DVD returns to the menu, then you hear a phone ring twice before you're given control over your remote again.

The movie you're probably thinking of J is Jennifer's Body. There's one scene that is very key to the plot. The Ring started a whole wave of Japanese horror remakes that thankfully died out fairly quickly. I remember the horror FPS games that came out around this era, F.E.A.R. The first two games were pretty solid. And yeah man, if Margot Robbie walked out of my TV, I don't think I'd question it too much. I'd just ask if she'd like to have a seat and offer a drink.

You know those Universal Remotes they sell at Wal-Mart and places like that? If you know what brand of TV your friends and neighbors own you can have a lot of fun with one of those. The ring is an American remake of the Japanese film Ringu. Samara or Sadako in the original Japanese film was inspired by the Onryu. Onryu are caused when someone dies a traumatic or violent death. They become vengeful spirits and they seek to destroy those who have harmed them and anyone who comes across their territory etc. The Grudge/ Ju On is another film that talks about this spirit.

This movie scared my mom so much because she worked night shift as a police dispatcher, and the room had several screens for watching the surveillance cameras. They were all in black and white too. She was so creeped out sitting in that department alone at night 😂

I remember when The Ring dvd was released, one of the bonus features was the full cursed film. Once you started watching it, the dvd player controls stopped functioning, making it impossible to stop it until it ended.

Oh hell yeah! This movie is gosh darn scary. I saw this in theaters at 12, and my solution was to rest my tv on the windowsill on Day 7… I live on the 19th floor. I just wanted to see the girl fall, haha.

Love your reactions Jay, a great movie you should check out for Halloween is the 2019 sequel to The Shining Doctor Sleep, it's one of the best newer movies I've seen in a LONG time.

I was "lucky" enough to have seen the original Japanese version long before this - renting it from an indie video store that handed me a what looked like a blank vhs tape. I couldn't sleep for a long time after. I also had my best friend make a copy of the tape.

In the original Japanese novel, she could come out of any reflective surface pretty much. Came through a motorcycle helmet visor and killed one dude. Good shit!

Omg I just realized why samaras voice sounded so familiar and google confirmed. She is also the voice of lilo from the Disney movie lilo & stitch. I don’t think you could have had two things more polar opposite 😂

When I first watched this film, I was supposed to pick up my little brother from school later in the evening. That night, the fog was so dense that you couldn't see more than ten feet in front of you. The whole experience was creepy as hell.

Anyone else remember the video from the tape being played on TV with no context as a marketing gimmick? It was brilliant. The internet went crazy with searching. Fun times.
I can't wait to see this reaction., especially to... that scene. I remember my reactions first time watching. 😂

I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it to the premier, but when I saw this on the list, I'm like...'Oh stfu, J's gonna watch The Ring?'
IS J gonna watch Thirteen Ghosts with Megan Fox? I actually loved that movie because it was so creatively done. But scaaaary. Let's give J ONE movie that isn't THAT scary. The Haunting with Lili Taylor, Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Owen Wilson.

05:47 jennifer's body 2009 film was epic for that type of movie if u was gonna watch that one when mentioning the megan fox film. I dont know more than 2 films she was in, transformers which i wasnt bothered with for her or the transformers. and jennifers body which i 100% think she did a amazing job on. not just her. Amanda Seyfried and the rest of the cast. Deffo worth watching i'd say for any reaction channel 👍🏻
