This is the most important factor, in my mind, when first planting tomatoes. Everyone is very excited to put tomato plants in the ground and they usually do it way too early. We are convinced by plant companies to put them into the ground because plants are for sale already at stores. But don’t fall for this trick. If you plant tomatoes too early they could die or their growth could be stunted at the very least. You don’t want to spend your money on more plants to replace the ones that died.
