The Philadelphia area has seen constant 90 degree plus days with high humidity this summer. Almost feels like a 1-2 punch. My second round of tomato flowers aren't doing well and this helped give me some ideas on what may be happening. I I've had the shade cloth installed for a couple of weeks so for now all I can do is wait it out.
I’m in NJ and have plants in beds and pots. They do better in the beds and very large pots (best in storage totes). I had the same problem two years ago when it was also hot and dry. 5 gal containers need watering twice a day. I’m having a big problem with blossom end rot so I toss the small tomatoes and cut off the bottoms of the big ones. Still edible.

It’s been dumb hot, and humid, here in southern Ohio this year! I’ve just recently had a couple tomatoes, that I planted late, just spring up out of nowhere but are lacking real flowers and maybe it’s just too dang hot! A couple of the young ones were looking all droopy and I had to move them up on my porch in the constant shade in order to get them back up to snuff. I’m very new to gardening, this is my second season so I’m learning a ton of information this year and I’m super excited to get started next year already 😂

Good video. I think its heat stress, I'm in Canada and July was unusually hot here. Its better now So I think my plants will start to flower again. I was watering them religiously and pruned them as well. Lets wait and see.

I'm so bummed out! All my tomato plants are doing this. It has been both hot and humid here in Georgia. I hope by the time the heat and humidity go down there will still be enough sunlight.
Lots of calcium needed where I live this year to help with blossom end rot. We got almost a year's worth of rain in just the month of June and July has been almost as wet!
I have about 40 tomato plant. Out of those only two have produced fruit but now are rotting while still green fruit. At first I did see some flowering , but during that time its leaves started turning yellow and some drying up. What could be wrong with my plants?
Potted planted need pretty regular feedings in my experience. I'd follow the packaging guidelines, but usually for liquid nutrients it is around once every 1-2 weeks.
Fox Farm 3 stage organic liquid fertilizer is absolutely amazing for tomato plants. It works like magic for all life stages of these plants.... and others.
Tomatillos are not self-fertile like tomatoes and peppers are. They require cross pollination with another plant, so you need to plant multiple plants near each other in order to get a harvest. Very common mistake, sorry to bear the bad news!
It happens! It's a balancing act, really. Some seasons you get it better than others. Rainfall and other factors are out of control. Hope you get a good yield anyway!

San Fernando Valley, LA.90-105F every day and 40% shade cloth isnt cutting it. Flowers still drying out.
I'm in the same boat in Philadelphia area. So many flowers drying out. I literally have 2 small fruit. Installed a shade cloth too a few weeks ago.

Wow… my tomatoes started flowering for the first time this week, but they started falling off despite my previous efforts. Perfectly timed post! 🙏🏽

most days, I love our New England growing weather.... but those DOGS DAYS of summer, late July/August, are sometimes rough on the garden.

You need self pollinating with your plant.

More info pls how long do you stop watering until flowers ate abundant and how long do I apply rice vinegar is 2 or 3 applications
Phosphorus added to water also potash/potasium.

If more phos is needed at flowering stage, how can you recommend a 2-1-3 ratio throughout life of tomato plant?
More potassium is needed at flowering, not phosphorus

Organic liquid, feed them once a week. These organic quality fertilizers are very unlikely to burn your plants when used as directed
well, we haven't been below 70 degrees in a couple months, so the shade cloth isn't helping much, lol

Soak clean banana peels for about a day or two pour the water that has been soaking into plant
2-1-3. That's pretty close to what alfalfa pellets offer.
