We heard of several home or a hotel withdrawal, only one Rehab was mentioned and that took the failed attempt of a staged shooting in which he was the target? Then straight to rehab? If I understood correctly. So much detail is being allowed in his cross rather than be direct with answer, surely there is a strategy for him doing so and for the attorney to give him the slack. During cross the clock is ticking and 7sec on the clock at this point the clock is being run out, and defense req to insert 2 last minute testimonials, keen judge saw through that.

Murdaugh admitted that he was still in the kennels when Paul filmed the 8:45 p.m. video, in which he can be heard trying to get a chicken out of Bubba’s mouth.
“I got out of there,” he said, noting that he went back to the main house “to the air conditioner” before he “dozed” off on the couch in front of the TV.
map this house, the kennels are more than a five minute ride to the main house.... he would of clearly heard gunshots BEFORE he got to the front door.... 8:45 at the kennels verified on Paul's phone.... no way he got into the house, and went to sleep in 5 minutes...

Very good points, I agree. Although I've only seen it in pictures and bodycam footage, the kennels and the other structure(s) in that same area are a pretty good distance from the house. The property appears to be not only secluded and wooded, but also a pretty quiet area in general. He absolutely would have heard gunshots, even if he was in the house. There's no doubt, especially seeing as there were multiple shots fired. And you're so right, no way he immediately fell asleep within a couple of minutes upon going into the main house.

Only because the defense knew the fact that Paul's video CLEARLY has him there, they put him on the stand and for the FIRST TIME IN YEARS, he actually says he WAS there after all.
So, painting the long running history of him lying and stealing from injured and grieving families makes it obvious he is a pathological liar. The rest of today's cross examination just showed his abuse of legal power, and a professional working knowledge of how to cover up or fabricate details to get away with murder.

Law & Crime interviewed the attorney for Eddie, the distant cousin, handyman and person who was supposed to be his partner in opioids. She said his testimony (he has an alibi for the murders) is that Alec called him to road side, took a gun, tried to kill Eddie who is a big guy too, who struggled with Alex and shoved him back. Alec then fell back on the concrete road. They were still talking and Alec realized he had a cut from the fall on the back of his head and it was bleeding. That was when he came up with the story that Eddie, his 5th or 6th cousin, was trying to shoot him per an agreement that he kill him so Buster would receive his $12 million life insurance policies.

It was so calculated to take authority over the viewers and deny sex with a more palatable form of language in order to force us to believe him. Then he referred to Monica as that woman in order to distance himself from her, and to tell the viewers that she wasn’t even worthy of a name. The abuse of power in that situation was unbelievable and yet he was so confident in his ability to lie that he came on television to do that. I voted for him, and cheered him as he reduced the national debt. But at that moment I knew he was lying. Totally get it, but just acknowledging the ownership of said properties is a moot point. Of course that just like probate all depends on what type of vehicles of transference of the properties upon death were set up. If a trust was in place probate is not a factor.

You say money wasn’t a motivator, but how much would Maggie and Paul have cost Alec in future if they’d lived? He admitted he was the sole breadwinner. Maggie wanted to buy a lot of things he couldn’t afford. Paul was already going to cost him millions. Men kill their families due to financial hardship every single day. Alec thought he could have his cake and eat it too, and come out a poor victim for sympathy’s sake.

Indigo Maggie and Paul had no life insurance so there was no reason for Alec to kill them for insurance money , so the state has no motive as to why he would want them dead ? And they have no DNA , no guns, no fingerprints, zero on Alec , except he lied about being at the Kennels at 8:45 with Maggie and Paul around the time they might have been killed .
He told sled he hadn’t been there , but Paul’s phone recorded his voice there .

@@rosesmall1245 - Who said it was about insurance money? Maggie met with divorce lawyers. Alex was going to lose at least half of NOTHING. She would have forensic accountants to find the millions missing and would have further exposed his embezzlement. The lawsuit Paul was in the mix of was asking $30 million to settle. They were about to expose Alex’s embezzlements too. Paul’s legal fees for his criminal defense would be another burden. He literally said he thought hr could win Paul’s case after he died.

That is what is bothering me. He asked his wife and son to return to that house and meet him at kennels. Then he testified, due to car forensics, that he went down, took a guinea out of a dog's mouth, and told them he was going to make a RT to visit his mother and would be back. After He asked them to meet him there for some reason. What were they to do, stand at attention for 1 1/2 hours. The goes to see his mother, 1 1/4-1/2 hr trip, goes to kennels and finds them. In the morning testimony, I thought he was doing well, but a full day of AM wears thin. I think his wife's sister said his wife had already told her that if he was sent to prison for something (pre-murders, of course), she was not going to be there every week or month, baking him cookies and bringing him food. That says she was a fed-up wife.

I am beginning to put a lot of stock in forensics and technology because in the areas where there is viable testimony, if the jury has already made up its mind, it ignores the viable and sensible testimony because it had decided on its verdict, but neutral data can give Great influence to move out ahead of poor juries to make proper findings on appeal. We may be seeing the beginning of a real clean-out of the jury system, when juries cannot keep up with technical data.
