Thank you so much for sharing the details of your amazingly different life.
I found your channel today and am now hooked! Started from the beginning and I have now stayed up too late! I come from a small town of 200 people in the far northern part of California. I’ve lived in the woods my whole life where off grid is normal for most. I’ve recently been going through some hard times and finding you and An’s channel has really inspired me. I just want to say thank you, and even though the struggle is real at times you two are very blessed. Sending good vibes to you both!
Love the videos
Must take some serious effort to make this happen.
Well done and looking forward to some more!
Haha yes exactly!
Your life seems ideal for me Marjolein, I can understand it’s not perfect , but I would do anything to swap places with you. I only discovered your channel two days ago btw and I have already binge watched all your videos. I love watching you and your husband.I am not into surfing, but I would love to live off grid on an island like yours. I have just watched you guys on Exploring Alternatives channel as well so well done guys, your channel is growing as people are interested in alternative living. Take care and all the best, Xx
Thank you! 🫶🏼
You might not be able to go grab a coffee with a friend to talk but clearly the rooster is there to have a conversation with you.
Hahahaaa yes 😅
Goed gedaan Marjolein, heel realistisch, indrukwekkend! Lieve groet! ❤
Dankjewel Martine 🥰
Your video is very soothing❤❤❤
Thank you
Thank you too!
Good to hear the reality of your life & as well as seeing its beauty 😊
Exactly! That’s what we’re trying to do with this channel ☺️

Hi, my name is Janneke, I was born in the Netherlands, but I moved to Sweden a couple of years ago. We have more extreme seasonal differences than we used to have in the Netherlands, colder winters, sometimes warmer summers, but not always. I struggle with heat, can't work very well when it's warmer than 20 degrees celcius. In the winter we got -28 celcius past winter, which was much lower than normal. I really like it here. We're also starting to grow some of our own food. It's fun to see what life is like where you live, since it is so different. Although we also have a lot of mosquitos, I hate them!
Amazing! We’d love to visit Scandinavia one day!
if you really wanna experience the true island life you should come to the CNMI its pretty fun and cool and there are all types of people :) we are friendly and barley anyone knows us because our islands are small.
Wow just had to google that! Looks beautiful! How do you get there?
Dengue fever is not fun. Glad you fully recovered. I somehow managed to get Dengue fever and Chikungunya within a 4 month period while living in Sint Maarten and know firsthand how serious they can be.
Take care! ❤
Oofff that doesn’t sound fun either 😅😬 take care too!
although population density of Sumatra is about 126 and population density of Canada is about 5 , The fact is the populations of both are concentrated leaving apparently vast unpopulated areas . It looks as wild as Canada on Google maps !
Yes exactly! Villages and cities definitely have loads of people here 😆
The struggle is really there but nice to see you can handle but may later when all done finish the house everything will be ok ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes 💯🫶🏼
That's everything I wanted to know all this time and that was answered. I am very impressed with your determination guys. So, good luck and Merry Christmas in advanced ❤💛
Thank you 🙏🏼 and an early Merry Christmas to you too!
Next video will be a traditional rooster recipe!
Hahahahaaa 😂
Hi There. I stumbled on your channel a few days ago and I'm hooked. Love your new home btw! Have you encountered any Salt Water Crocs? Indonesia is a major habitat and was wondering if they are present around your island.
Around where we live there’s never been seen one. More down south of the Mentawai islands there have been a few sightings and some incidents.
@@OurIslandLife Ok, that is good to hear. Just always be diligent and careful. 🙂
I saw starlink is available in Indonesia now 👍
Yes we just bought it!
1.5 hrs to the shop in the afternoon traffic in Manila take your pick?
Been to Nias and can understand the place and the situation.... It's a paradise as long as you are careful enough in taking care about you, your live ones and the basics. Can u get treated under BPJS?
Yes exactly! We do have insurance luckily :)
Hi Marjoline, have you tried keeping mosquitoes away with lemongrass extract? In my case it helps, not a single mosquito comes near me when I apply the extract on my skin. I really hope it helps you too. 🙏🏾❤️ In the past I have also used this to keep away biting flies that were bothering my dogs and causing them bloody wounds.
We sometimes rub lemongrass on our skin 😆 but haven’t used the extract, thanks for the tip!
❤
Other plants that, if they grow with you, can help heal and soothe wounds: 1. Aloe Vera with the yellow flowers. 2. Dragon Fruit, also called Pitya. It is good for herpes sores.@@OurIslandLife
you will love starlink
Yes i think so! 😆
Thank you for sharing your challenging yet beautiful life. If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for money now?
RUclips and An does some jobs locally too ☺️
@@OurIslandLife 🤍🙂
👌❤️
Interesting life you have. Do you work from home office? Though no internet there. Good luck to you!
No, no internet indeed. Until a few days ago! We just got Starlink. But at time of filming all these videos we didn’t have any wifi connection.
Wow its increase your subscribers ❤❤❤❤❤
😊☺️
hope one day you can visit my home of Palau 🇵🇼
Yes, it looks so beautiful over there!
Hi am going to Mentawii in August might visit you guys
Would that be ok ?
We don’t have a surf camp but maybe we’ll see you in the water!
how much did your beautiful island costs?
We don’t have the entire island 😆😅
Also, following on from my other comment already posted, what about fluoride, car exhaust, shedding, emf's, big ag - chemical farming-, 5g, weather engineering and more, I get immediately sick when traveling in the matrix from all of this. I also cannot eat matrix food. Even a so called healthy diet in the UK when I was there in 2017 made me inflammed and fat. I am so surprised that you don't mention any of this. Also, these so called poor people who have no access to the pharmakeia ( sorcery in Greek) hospitals live until well into their nineties whereas your average Gringo as we say here dies of cancer, diabetes, immune disorders, alzheimers, dementia etc in their fifties now. Of course, a fearful, chronically inflammed matrix person could die from a mozquito bite, but that would not be due to their being unable to get to the hospital!
❤❤❤❤❤😊

Wow.....
🫶🏼
Satay Ayam soon LOL!
Starlink internet
Hello! I've created tropical garden in 🇬🇧 London. I subscribed to your channel! 🌺🌴🌵
Epic! Thanks for following along!
Why can’t locals go to hospital?
There isn’t a proper hospital here so people have to go to the mainland. Unfortunately most local people here cannot afford that 😔
I feel exactly the opposite way about pharmakeia treatments. When I go to Europe or Nth America I am way more careful than when I am home: high Andes in a village of 90 people. I work super hard on protecting myself from your politics, pharma system, so-called judicial systems and programming in general. We can heal almost everything when we are in real health. You two glow with health because of your environment. Nature provides all you need. Here we still remember how to live and how to use plants as remedies, how the psychological, physical and spiritual are intertwined and we do not run easily to the matrix unless absolutely necessary. For me, this is what saves me from death, my distance from the madness of western society.
