So for clarification about why Sugawara is setting from the start of the 5th set: At the end of the 4th set, Kageyama was essentially hitting the limits of his stamina, and was starting to make very uncharacteristic errors because of it. So they’re resting him up as best they can to bring him in later in the set. Personally, I think it makes sense even though it’s rocking the boat, as they wouldn’t want to risk Kageyama getting more and more tired and having his performance deteriorate towards the end of the 5th set, as that would likely result in them needing to switch him out for Suga for the end of the 5th set, which would probably be a pretty terrible time to have to switch him out, especially for the team’s morale.
This often happens in NBA or even NHL games where coaches manage the teams rotations so that they can have their strongest unit fresh (as possible) in crunch time.
Suga is dependable and stable enough to keep them in the game while he's subbed in. Sure, he's probably not gonna make any game winning plays, but unlike what was happening with Kageyama, he won't make uncharacteristic errors that drop points. Kageyama in the meantime can rest, and as long as Karasuno are still in contention when he comes back in, they can make a comeback, which almost certainly wouldn't happen if they had to put Suga in last minute, he's not bad, but Suga's not going to make any of the game winning plays that you need against Shiratorizawa, not to mention that it entirely puts Hinata's quick out of the question.

Hinata didn't jump because of telepathy. There's this concept in Japanese folklore called "ki," more famously known by the Chinese "chi." It's said to be the life force and can be sensed by others because it emanates like an aura of sort. What that scene conveyed was Hinata sensing Ushijima's killer intent to show how intense his desire to crush him was.
Hey Vic, I'm just letting you know that there is an OVA (like extra episodes that relate to the story but also are just off to the side) called Riku vs Kuu (Land vs Sky). This deals mainly with Nekoma and how they're doing! Very interesting and I recommend watching after this season.
4 years ago this show changed my life, i joined a volleyball club, made lots of friends, which was rare because I'm rly shy and quiet, met my gf, and now, even though I'm 5,5, I'm the second best hitter, the captain and the main setter for the juvenile and adults team. All thanks to this shows making me love volleyball!
I'm so glad you understand my satori now. He has spent years being pushed away by others and hated for who he is then he came to shiratorizawa and they accepted him. I know how he feels and finding that group or person that just accepts you after years of never being accepted just has such an impact.
Vic, I think you missed the part where they saidi that Kageyama was exhausted so that's why they started the 5th set with Sugamama. Also, I love what this show has done too. I love sports, I play soccer and love watching athlete's compete with all their physical and mental strength. I never understood volleyball so I never watched it. Now, thanks to their reaction videos, I watched Sarah Pavan in beach volleyball and Erik Shoji in indoor during the olympics and it was amazing! My new favorite sport to watch.
If you could, please rewatch episode 7 after the ad because you missed something after the ad break. There’s another scene with young Ushijima with his family that you should watch but I think you missed it.
You might've missed a bit from episode 7 then, cause I thought it cut off weirdly in between scenes. And figured it was editing, but with your issues with crunchy roll, you might've missed some younger ushijima scenes then. It has a pretty epic ending after the coaches line, I recommend trying to watch the final like minutes or two after that, cause it's pretty hype. Looking forward to the final two episodes of this insane season.
I love you explaining how you want Shiratorizawa to be this unknown evil force, since I went to U of Hawaii, our women's volleyball team has had some knock down drag em out battles with USC...so I went back and watched a match UH vs USC back in 2016? You were a sophomore serving specialist. Times were simpler when I didn't know anyone on the opposing team. If I had a dime for everytime I heard the commentator say another save by Garrick, I'd have like at least $5. It's like I watch volleyball with new eyes since I understand the game a little now...
This video reminds me why I love your channel so much despite not knowing anything about volleyball and having never ever played it in my life 😌 I just smile a lot seeing you watch haikyuu and its somehow healing I still quote : 'is it the show or is it something going on in my own life' when I get emotional over something 🤣
39:21 "That was the most ninja thing i've ever seen!" Ah yes, it was a very Ninja thing to do 😏 ALSO VIC YES YOU DID MISS A SUPER IMPORTANT THING AT THE END SO PLEAAAAASE WATCH IT NEXT WEEK CAUSE IT'S LIKE LITERALLY VITAL TO THE NEXT TWO EPISODES LMAO.
I was going to say, Kageyama played 4 sets at such a high level of precision that even towards the middle of the 4th set he was already reaching his limits. They just wanted to make sure Kageyama was in tip top shape when they sub Suga out to finish out the game.
Sorry, I'm behind, been a little busy, but just to clarify, in episode 7 when Tsuki's expressions are on his face, it's an expression of frustration of not being able to play, and not so much of physical pain. The reason you were confused as to why everyone was talking about his teammates is because everyone was trying to cheer Tsuki up and win for him because they've seen how much he's grown for the team; because a year prior Tsuki would not have been able to feel this frustration so openly and honestly with his teammates.
The irony of Vic starting out the episode by saying "look at this cute band-aid" and showing us a band-aid on her finger is just so funny to me. I swear, there's some psychic stuff going on here
What sad is that the Duo of Shiratorizawa (Tendou and Ushijima) also has sad backstories that can make you relate to them. Like, being called scary because of your appearance and how you act is sad especially if that makes people aloof of you. Or that your Family wants to correct your left handedness just to be called "normal" and then the only protector you had, left you alone in that household.
When she said that Shoyo's block/recieve was the most ninja thing she's ever seen, my mind automatically yelled "YESSSS NINJA SHOYO" (It's a manga thing)
Seems like Crunchyroll glitched out a few times, which isn’t your fault at all, so dw!! But here are some things you might want to rewatch in case you missed them: • The final scene in episode 8 /doesn’t/ end with Ukai saying that, actually-try watching it again and there’ll be a surprise at the end :) • I don’t know if Crunchyroll might’ve skipped this earlier, but there’s some Ushijima backstory here that wasn’t shown in your reaction, where they talk a bit about his lefthandedness and the type of family he grew up in. That’s near the middle of the 7th episode I believe-go to the very beginning of the scene where Shiratorizawa are all eating lunch and talking to each other in the cafeteria. And this isn’t explicitly mentioned in these episodes, but Narita is Karasuno’s backup middle blocker! He’s one of the second years who quit the club in his first year but came back eventually, like Ennoshita. :) Thanks again for another wonderful reaction!!
Honestly, someone should recomend another place for her to watch it on. I'm not sure how that would go on with youtube, but Crunchyroll sounds like it's full of bugs at this point.
Coach Ukai's last line there was actually the last line his voice actor (Mr. Tanaka Kazunari) recorded for the show, he sadly passed away in 2016 (hence the change of voice in next episode) He was such an incredible voice actor and loved by the whole community, thought it was important to let you know!
I always liked that pep talk from coach Washijou to shiratorizawa. Since he's an old school guy who only cares about tall and powerful player, it's merely him reinforcing that if they play for him, it's because they're good and there's no reason to doubt it.
my mother used to play vb and i started seeing my classmates playing vb too so i got interested then i found out about haikyuu and they made me love vb more
17:07 You have heard of Yuji Nishida right? if I am not mistaken i think he has gone on record saying that Haikyuu was what made him try the sport and keep at it.
For anyone who listens to Haikyu’s music, the album that came out that covers season 3 starts with the coach’s « Volleyball is a sport where you always look up » 😭😭😭

I remember in your earlier reactions you said something along the lines of, how you don't understand why people find anime characters "cute" since they are just a drawing. But now 3 seasons into Haikyuu its funny to see how you simp over younger versions of characters. It's funny to see how a non anime viewer's perspective changes once they give anime a chance. It's not for everyone, but you never know until you give it a try. Anyways just a passing thought lol
Yeah that parting line from Ukai is like leaves from the vine vibes... It makes such a difference having crunchyroll premium will change that 6 to an 8 at least lol I remember feeling emotionally exhausted with this season and at the time it was weekly release. The physical and mental stress on both sets of players so noticeable. Can't wait for next week. Hype.
I read all of the comments about the Narita part, and I still wasn't prepared. I just laughed so loudly lmao! Also, super excited for next week's reactions!
What she said at 17:08 made me tear up a bit. It reminded me how much Run With the Wind helped me when running in college after burn out and losing the joy for the sport.
So excited to see your reaction as usual!! And just a side-comment, I had the same feeling as you about the season 3 intro for the first couple episodes-catchy, but maybe not my favorite. Over time I really warmed up to it (especially the chorus! I scream “HIKARIAREEEEE” lol), but my favorite rendition of it is the moonlight version, performed by the same band who wrote the original! It makes me cry every time I hear it, and I totally recommend you take a listen to it if you’re interested

Today's episode had everything. Thriller volleyball play, relatable reaction, comedy, and more "I told you so" moments with Vic 🤣🤣 When she first met Tendo I was like "uh huh uh huh tell me more about how weird he is, Vic 🤣"
I played Volleyball on my second year of high school. Brazil has always been a strong country for volleyball players so we're used to hear about it, but I wasn't that fond of it, just needed a excuse to not be at home during week days afternoon. Haikyuu in fact made me appreciate it a bit more, to the point of staying up late to watch the Olympics or having breakfast with the highlight of matches from the italian league as background noise. I believe in the end it doesn't really matter where your love for it comes from and neither if it doesnt end up being something big in your life after all, but it really is impressive and really heartwarming how a good narrative and passion for something can bring random people together.
Not joking watching haikyuu made me finally decide to start playing volleyball and now I am captain of our high school team and it is one of my passions. I owe my life to this show
I loved watching (and playing) volleyball ever since my dad got us watching it during the Olympics as a kid. Since they never really broadcast volleyball matches on TV, other than beach vb, we would have to wait for the Olympics to watch. This show and the reactions to it made me nostalgic and miss watching games with my dad and sis, so thanks for creating these vids. It's like sharing it with a friend.
Since I saw you with the Band Aid I knew that will come out in the classic Victoria reactions. By the way until now I realized why I prefer your reactions over other ones.... Yours are so wholesome, and so genuine, just keep in that way please
Dayumm You'll pay premium just for "Haikyuu!!"? that's commitment O.O Also that last line of coach Ukai is legendary, cause that was the last haikyuu line of Ukai's VA (Voice Actor) before he passed away, R.I.P to Kazunari Tanaka, ukai's first VA...danr it i'm crying now :""(
The last 5 or so minutes of S3E8, starting with the flashback to the opposing coach's days as a player, has my vote for best moment in the series. The utter desperation in Karasuno as they fight through the long rally, the quiet yet simple strength and declaration from Shiratorizawa that "We're stronger," the utter defeat as the crowd chants "One More Point," Coach Ukai's final words, and then the incredibly hype moment that Vic missed at the end of the episode that offers a glimmer of hope. The roller coaster of emotions is unmatched for me even after Season 4. Just perfect sports drama.
Tendo's character design is heavily inspired by the mangaka (writer and illustrator)'s earlier career as a horror mangaka, so don't feel bad about judging him on his appearance! You were meant to do it ^^
I’ve literally been dying from the moment I saw episode one of your reactions for you to react to a specific moment in season 3 from someone, it blew my mind and I’m sure the comments might know who it is I’m talking about because you’re going to love it. Next week CANT come quick enough!

I feel a lot of haikyuu anime onlys would find that start very jarring.
Hey Vic, I'm just letting you know that there is an OVA (like extra episodes that relate to the story but also are just off to the side) called Riku vs Kuu (Land vs Sky). This deals mainly with Nekoma and how they're doing! Very interesting and I recommend watching after this season.
Someone get Victoria to this underrated comment.
"who the heck is Narita!?" with that face, I fainted
literally same 😂😂😂
22:01
my tears are ready to fall cause of the previous scene and then...
"Who the heck is Narita?!" made me cry out of laughter 😂😂😂
Same😂😂
Right XD I was like “Vic he’s been there for quite a while” XD
Lmao
@@TimelessTendeM to be fair I didn't know what his name was until that episode when I watched it the first time
I'm so glad you understand my satori now.
I don’t want to be that guy but remember, if karasuno loses this match then it’s the last high school match that Daichi, Suga, and Asahi will play.
If you could, please rewatch episode 7 after the ad because you missed something after the ad break. There’s another scene with young Ushijima with his family that you should watch but I think you missed it.
I was thinking the same thing. this comment needs to be up more
vic: (about hinata) “that is the most ninja thing i have ever seen”
me: *laughs in manga reader LOL*
Such a nice compliment, right? >:)
ah fellow manga reader
I KNOW RIGHT??? VICTORIA AND THIS WEIRD POWER OF HERS,,,,,,
She's gonna freak out when she comes to that 😂
NINJA SHOYO
You might've missed a bit from episode 7 then, cause I thought it cut off weirdly in between scenes. And figured it was editing, but with your issues with crunchy roll, you might've missed some younger ushijima scenes then. It has a pretty epic ending after the coaches line, I recommend trying to watch the final like minutes or two after that, cause it's pretty hype. Looking forward to the final two episodes of this insane season.
up!
Victoria: The set might not finish this episode, good thing we're watching two.
Me: Oh boy....
This video reminds me why I love your channel so much despite not knowing anything about volleyball and having never ever played it in my life 😌
I just smile a lot seeing you watch haikyuu and its somehow healing I still quote : 'is it the show or is it something going on in my own life' when I get emotional over something 🤣
I've rewatched Haikyuu so many times, but it's still intense every time.
x 2
You should DEFINITELY watch the last part and including it in the beginning of your next reaction!
i was waiting all day for this!! these reactions really make my dayy
Facts #HHH
39:21 "That was the most ninja thing i've ever seen!"
Ah yes, it was a very Ninja thing to do 😏
ALSO VIC YES YOU DID MISS A SUPER IMPORTANT THING AT THE END SO PLEAAAAASE WATCH IT NEXT WEEK CAUSE IT'S LIKE LITERALLY VITAL TO THE NEXT TWO EPISODES LMAO.
I swear, there's some psychic stuff going on here
lmaooo vic, you were cracking me up in this episode. at 31:45, they were “perceiving each other’s energy”, and that's anime logic for you
What sad is that the Duo of Shiratorizawa (Tendou and Ushijima) also has sad backstories that can make you relate to them.
Like, being called scary because of your appearance and how you act is sad especially if that makes people aloof of you. Or that your Family wants to correct your left handedness just to be called "normal" and then the only protector you had, left you alone in that household.
When she said that Shoyo's block/recieve was the most ninja thing she's ever seen, my mind automatically yelled "YESSSS NINJA SHOYO"
(It's a manga thing)
Seems like Crunchyroll glitched out a few times, which isn’t your fault at all, so dw!! But here are some things you might want to rewatch in case you missed them:
• The final scene in episode 8 /doesn’t/ end with Ukai saying that, actually-try watching it again and there’ll be a surprise at the end :)
• I don’t know if Crunchyroll might’ve skipped this earlier, but there’s some Ushijima backstory here that wasn’t shown in your reaction, where they talk a bit about his lefthandedness and the type of family he grew up in.
Thanks again for another wonderful reaction!!
up!

Honestly, someone should recomend another place for her to watch it on. I'm not sure how that would go on with youtube, but Crunchyroll sounds like it's full of bugs at this point.
YAY IM FINALLY EARLY
i love the fact that victoria calles hinata "shoyo" because it feels like she has a close bond with him and it melts my heart
Im pretty sure vic skipped the entire lunch scene in shiratorizawa and a little bit of ushiwaka's backstory
I can’t wait for Victoria to meet the Miya twins, especially Atsumu.
For anyone who listens to Haikyu’s music, the album that came out that covers season 3 starts with the coach’s « Volleyball is a sport where you always look up » 😭😭😭
I loved when Ushijima was venting his frustration of Shoyo and Victoria is going like “Yeah he is awesome” but she missed Ushijima calling Shoyo untalented and stupid 😂
"That was the most *ninja* thing I've ever seen."
Manga readers: *sweeting*
Hey Victoria the name of this Op is called Hikariare from Burnout Syndromes. They were they also the singers who sang the second season 2 Tobe Fly & the next season op Phoenix. You should check them out, they are an amazing band
"Dont you dare look down!" That was the last line of Coach Ukai's VA. He passed away after.
This gal really uses every chance she gets to flex her ring bro 😂😂😂 I love her. Like tsukki’s finger almost breaks and she’s like “we are like twins” showing off the bandaid, you can’t trick us Vic we know you just flexing on us ❤️
I always wondered how you felt about the comments when you make silly small mistakes. Like I know we joke about it, but I think all of our intentions are pure and just hoping to make you and other's day with a laugh.
So I'm glad to hear you like our jokes! I never liked when RUclipsrs get so self-conscious about comments especially when y'all work so hard to provide content and are PEOPLE like everyone else on this earth.
This needs more likes!!
Victoria opens with her bandage.
Me: "I see she has already started her predictions"
"Dont u dare look down! volleyball is sport where u r always looking up"
Hits so much when u realized that was the last line of the original coach ukai va said before he passed :(
I remember in your earlier reactions you said something along the lines of, how you don't understand why people find anime characters "cute" since they are just a drawing. But now 3 seasons into Haikyuu its funny to see how you simp over younger versions of characters. It's funny to see how a non anime viewer's perspective changes once they give anime a chance. It's not for everyone, but you never know until you give it a try. Anyways just a passing thought lol
22:03
Vic: Who the heck is Narita??
Me: *Cries*
She can't just disrespect my man Narita like that 😭
Basically no one knew Narita at this time XD
I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE OVA AND SEASON 4 LIKE, THERE ARE SO MANY GREAT CHARACTERS😭😭
10:20 this my fave ad/commercial break animation for haikyuu
Yeah that parting line from Ukai is like leaves from the vine vibes...
It makes such a difference having crunchyroll premium will change that 6 to an 8 at least lol
I remember feeling emotionally exhausted with this season and at the time it was weekly release. The physical and mental stress on both sets of players so noticeable.
Can't wait for next week. Hype.
41:01 "Where's Tsukki?"
The scenes are so intense she forgot about his injury 😂😭
I read all of the comments about the Narita part, and I still wasn't prepared. I just laughed so loudly lmao!
Also, super excited for next week's reactions!
i just love that the shortest set we see in the entire series is one that takes more than two episodes to finish :,D
What she said at 17:08 made me tear up a bit. It reminded me how much Run With the Wind helped me when running in college after burn out and losing the joy for the sport.
"Who the heck is Narita?!" Don't worry, we were all the same hahahaha
"who the heck is Narita?" it's just comedy gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg I love this reaction ❤️
39:20 THE FORESHADOWING omg, vic really is the queen of future telling. (for us manga readers).
Ikr i was shocked when i heard it
Favorite moment in series, is finale of S3E4... 2nd favorite is the Noya miracle, Vic is gunna cream.
Lol did you know that apparently a cursed headcanon is that Ushijima can’t swim. Also, there’s a post credit scene at the end of episode 10, if you forget to watch it, here’s a RUclips link you can use: ruclips.net/video/Utjg2EmYqE8/видео.html
Edit: I’m sure all your Haikyuu homies would like to find out your starting 7 at the end of season 3 so please tell us at the end of next week’s video
"Who the heck is Narita!?" Lmaooo this was outstandingly funny 😭😭😭
Victoria now realizing how Intense her predictive abilities are 😂
Meanwhile me finding it hilarious how she predicted something from the 4th season pt2 unintentionally 👀😭
Today's episode had everything. Thriller volleyball play, relatable reaction, comedy, and more "I told you so" moments with Vic 🤣🤣
When she first met Tendo I was like "uh huh uh huh tell me more about how weird he is, Vic 🤣"
You had me cracking up this video Vic hahaha 😆 and yes you miss a small clip after he says that
Holy crap. You missed Tsuki's epic entrance at the end!? I was looking forward to your reaction to it.
that's what i was gonna say, like i was waiting for it too
Right?! I was waiting for that too.
Spoiler...
Not joking watching haikyuu made me finally decide to start playing volleyball and now I am captain of our high school team and it is one of my passions. I owe my life to this show
OH NOOO I was waiting for you to see the end of the episode!!! 😭 I love that part
can’t wait to see her reaction to the best saves in haikyuu history .. u already know this !!
3:56 is so funny lmao
also vic is going to love season4&5+ :D
Victoria Garrikc: "Knowing Haikyuu, we're probably not going to find out who wins this epidsode, it might take 2"
Me: yeah....2....
Had the same reaction lmao
"that was the most ninja thing ever" guys she predicted ninja shoyo
"Pass high in the middle of the court" You know what i'm thinking homies 😌
Dayumm You'll pay premium just for "Haikyuu!!"? that's commitment O.O
Also that last line of coach Ukai is legendary, cause that was the last haikyuu line of Ukai's VA (Voice Actor) before he passed away, R.I.P to Kazunari Tanaka, ukai's first VA...danr it i'm crying now :""(
30:46 The shift on Vic’s face reacting to Suga and Tanaka vs reacting to Ushijima HAHAHAAHAH
Victoria: “I don’t think I’m going to heaven.”
Me: *remembers all of the dark humor I laughed at* “Yeah, me neither.” 🤔
Can relate
Don't worry, we'll make it cozy
There’s a scene at the end of the credits in episode 10 - can’t miss it
The last 5 or so minutes of S3E8, starting with the flashback to the opposing coach's days as a player, has my vote for best moment in the series.
LOVE THESE SM!! plus one more week until ep 10 AAAAAH excited!!
INTERESTING FACT: As a child, Tendo ate flowers because someone said, "You are what you eat," and he thought he would become a beautiful flower by eating flowers.
that's so cute😭
39:25 “that was the most ninja thing I’ve ever seen”
Manga readers: 👁👄👁 she’s not wrong
YO THE MOMENT YOU SAID that’s the most ninja thing I’ve ever seen , CHILLS , no spoilers but your intuition is no joke, stuff that’s not even animated yet
let's gooo
i've been busy past few days and forgot that's it wednesday today(my time) and its time for another Haikyuu reaction video from Victoria :D
IVE BEEN WAITING ALL DAY
Every time I hear the coach's words in that episode it gives me chills, I love it.
