We were all waiting for you to meet him lol. Kita is one of the best Role Model and inspiration for most of us, especially for our younger generation. Also, kudos to the coach of his team for recognizing, affirming and utilizing such a wonderful member for his team. On the side note, once you have concluded this season of Haikyuu, you should search for the channel of this guy Aleczandxr. He did great breakdown and analysis of the characters of Haikyuu (Kita, Atsumu, Noya, Tanaka, Hinata, Kageyama, Tsuki, Washijo, Botukuo, etc.) and other anime. The video on Kita really thought provoking when he links it to Oikawa. Plus he also have one on Run With The Wind. Only watch the Haikyuu AFTER you concluded Season 4 though cos there might be spoilers.

One thing that the anime missed but it was in the manga it's the fact that the Grandma was watching him during this match. She was there in Tokyo watching the match in live with a shirt with "Kita" being written on it.
One of the most shocking things about Haikyuu that I learnt from the interviews with the author is that they didn't even mean for Kita to have this much of a presence, it just kind of sort of happened, and the author was also surprised by his development. Kita is also a big favorite of Yanagida Masahiro from Japan's national team!
I think it's because the 'shonen' aspects of Haikyuu were always intended to be the 'hook' whilst the deeper sports philosophy elements gradually built over time, like boiling a frog. This is pretty obvious if you go back and watch/read the earlier arcs. The thing is, by this point... the frog has boiled. None of us are watching/reading haikyuu primarily for 'hype' anymore. Kita embodies more than a lot of Haikyuu characters the zen philosophies Haikyuu really symbolizes in the sports manga genre: It's not about the result, it's about the process. By this point we all kind of understand that as many other characters have shown us this: - Bokuto's description of chasing 'moments' over an end goal. - Hinata learning 'he who would climb the ladder must begin at the bottom' - Ennoshita realising life was harder for him without the 'hard' and 'stressful' elements of Volleyball in them. Kita as a character simply embodies all those elements in one person, and shows that whilst effort and dedication to the process may not result in a superstar or get you to a specific goal, effort ALWAYS produces results. Just maybe not the results you imagined: Kita never expected to get the jersey, for instance.
Kita just obliterated the "join Sarah's love house" speedrun. Meanwhile Oikawa, Ushijima, Atsumu and Pineapple Head are waiting outside of the Love House wishing to know his secret.
Did you notice the part where you hear his grandma say "Someone is always watching" and it shows Kita noticing the Inarizaki coach watching him from the gym door? Apparently the coach had an amazing eye and had been watching how Kita conducted himself since middle school, because he didn't just hand Kita his first jersey in 5 years, but a CAPTAIN jersey at that, and no one on the team objected. Kita stopped doing the right things to please the invisible gods above and around him, but his discipline and commitment shined so bright that people ended up noticing him nonetheless.
I just want to shoutout Suguru's (the green-haired guy in the stands) lady friend for being invested in his passion for volleyball and allowing him to ramble about it. It's super wholesome to see their dynamic.
Yeah it’s awesome seeing her catch on some of the nuances of the game too as someone just starting to watch the game. I love how the game is broken down in Haikyu!, especially when they use the audience at the game for analysis.
They did break up due to his passion for volleyball (in turn probably missing some of their dates for practice, etc). So seeing her witness how passionate he is about the sport, and how happy he is because she is also taking interest (I'm assuming they made up) is a nice story in terms of side characters.
It's a smart and cute way to make sure newer readers aren't confused about what's going on if they didn't buy volumes or have been reading since the beginning
I love that a side character like her had an off-screen character arc. Started out upset that her bf was devoting so much time to his 'club' instead of spending it with her. breaks up with him but goes to see his game cause she realizes there is something she doesnt understand. and after seeing his passion realizes its something super important and decides to invest her own time into his things. Love how wholesome they are.
Congratulations to Kita for just casually strolling into the love house. Love how Sarah wanted to paused a few times during the kita backstory but just couldn't and just keeps having the "that's my boy" grin. Also, a little more detail about Kita, as Suna pointed out, he never received a uniform back in middle school and only got it during the current year.
Kita love! One of the moments which always gives me goosebumps is when kita’s grandma saying “there’s always someone watching” fades to the coach watching him. It’s like, even though he never got a jersey in middle school, his efforts were still being noticed.
I knew you would love Kita! There is no one that hates him, his ideals might seem sooo obvious and simple but honestly it's easy to forget about it. And specially when Haikyuu's cast is full of what they call "Volleyball Idiots", these kids so full of adrenaline and with such a high-anxiety mentality XD It's so soothing, just being reminded that as long as you are diligent everyday, you can be compensated, or you can count on your efforts being able to pull up results There is still a little bit more of wisdom we need to hear from Shinsuke, but he is such an amazing character ;O; I find myself coming back to his philosophy almost daily and it really calms my anxious mind 💛 So overall, not surprised at all that he entered your love house practically 10 seconds after appearing, that's just who Kita Shinsuke is, what a role model
So true that it's easy to forget. We so often fall into the trap of results-oriented thinking. The real focus should be on mastery and the process, because results will follow. But man, even for the smallest things in life it can be extremely hard to uncouple your motivation and happiness from the results.
I think this episode is VERY important in Haikyuu. because I think Kita showed what 'true sportsmanship' is. and the beauty of keeping a routine everyday. I think that's why so many fans choose him as favorite character, even though he didn't appear for a long time in the entire show.

Huge congrats to Kita expediting his way through the Love House AS he deserves. I had a feeling you would love him, but for him to get a private suite after just half an episode just shows how incredible he is. He is truly just a perfect and wonderful person and teammate, and his mentality just connects with me so so much. When he cried after getting his jersey (his first one, AND the captain role at that), I remember just Melting. This last run of episodes is some of the most phenomenal in the entire series, but this episode always stands out to me because of Kita's introduction and backstory... we all love him so dearly!
My first volleyball coach always said, "Find the FUN in FUNdamentals!" reiterating that the daily grinds and boring practices are what shapes the skills of a player. I feel like Kita's the prime example of this and I try to live by my coach's words to this day.

I knew you would fall in love with him, but I admit I did NOT expect it to happen this fast. On the previous video I predicted that he'd earn a key by the end of the season, I was shocked that he managed to have his own suite reserved less than halfway into the episode!! My jaw hurt from smiling so much watching you completely melt for him. He is near-universally adored by every Haikyuu fan, and there is much more Kita wisdom in store during these last few episodes. Kita basically plays the role of both the dad and mom of Inarizaki. Best exemplified in that flashback of Atsumu having a cold. Stern to Atsumu's face, scolding Gin for encouraging his recklessness, but behind the scenes he put together a care package with all of his favorite foods. It wasn't "You being sick hurts the team and hurts our ability to win" it was "Your health is more important than anything else, please take care of yourself properly". He cares about everyone so deeply, and that makes him not just the ultimate leader, but the ultimate role model. By the way, if you're still having trouble with the whole Aran/Alan/Aaron/etc. thing, you can just call him "Ojiro" it that's easier.
I'm not a very disciplined person (or at least I feel like I'm not), but sometimes I remember that people like Kita exist. I feel like I can borrow being like them for sometime, and that gives me the patience to slow down and do things properly. Cleaning the dishes. Maintaining my bike. Folding my clothes. It's a good feeling, and it pulls me along.

I love how Kita doesn't care and just keep routine for himself, but her grandma's word of "someone's always watching" actually fruited when Inarizaki's coach has been the one watching him and giving him the reward he deserves. Since Kita only participated the official match for first time during his third year and has been playing since middle school, it is likely that he has to wait at least FIVE YEARS to earn his first jersey 😢 (but also named captain on top of that ✨). Now that I'm writing this, I just realized it is also the same pattern with Sarah's love house 😆. He has to wait for 4 seasons to meet Sarah, but acing the entry of love house in just one day 🍧🍒❤
The most relatable thing ever was watching you fall deeper and deeper for Kita. I remember feeling this exact same way. It was like - "How is this dude that I just learned the name of five minutes ago already one of my top characters in the show?" The moment he received his jersey? It was over for me.
i remember when i first got introduced to kita i automatically loved him. his methodical and thorough thought process are everything, and he's good at volleyball too??? please, when i saw him cry because it had been at least 3 years before he could get a jersey, that's when i knew he would be one of my favorite characters.#kitashinsuke slays

I, too, fell in love with Kita almost instantly . There's one dialogue that he'll make at the end of the third set and that one dialogue has been my motivation since so long, other than Tanaka's "I'm just average" monologue.

its cool how they add those audience couple (friend) , the idea is to make volleyball more friendly and open for newbies, the way the author had a volleyball player and the girl a completely new to the game is really good. if i remember it correctly haikyu resulted to more people getting int volleyball in japan and prolly worldwide as well.
Kita's approach is inspiring. That grind of consistently doing things towards the goal will reward you. Improving little everyday is better than none. Making it a habit and routine is the process towards success.

Oh, I love Kita, and I'm always excited when reactors get to meet him. That phrase from his backstory "Someone is always watching" is something I remind myself every now and then. Efforts are not always immediately rewarded, but constant work will be seen eventually by others, however it's all about holding on and being persistent until then, and a lot of people don't have that in them. That's what makes him such a good character and role model imo.
Them miya twins backstory is really well done too!! Gives you a new perspective on them (especially Atsumu) and the way their dynamic is portrayed is really wholesome 😊 It’s only gonna get better and better from here, I can’t wait for episode 24 ‼️
In Rintaro's inner monologue at the end, they show the guess blocker guy from shiratorizawa when he's talking about the blockers he's faced. I like to think inarizaki beat shiratorizawa last nationals, when they got second place.
With the end of the match approaching, some of the best moments in the entire series are gonna come hard and fast, can't wait for the barrage of tears and joy.
Someone told me once so don't quote me but the number is also important in Japanese school sports. The lower the number the higher you are on the team. So bring handed number 1 is saying you are the captain and you have earned that respect
Kita-san became my favourite the first time I saw him in the manga like 5 years ago and he still is. His way of life and the way he's thinking is so inspiring and he's just... so sweet. Every time I watch this episode I get so happy, and I'm very glad you liked him. Boy didn't play in the games for five school years and then instantly became captain, because he was always doing his best and someone finally saw it. So great
To clarify some things about Kita (best boy), he wasn't given a jersey during middle school only. He had one in high school, but didn't get to play a single time during his first and second years. Despite that, he got the title of captain and the number 1, which is the reason for his tears. In Japanese school teams, numbers are not a personnal choice. There are given by seniority (3rd years get the first numbers, then the 2nd years, then the 1st years), and then by usefulness to the team. By that logic, the number 1 is more often than not the captain. There are a few exceptions, but yeah. In Karasuno, for the 3rd years, Daichi is considered the most important, so number 1. Then Suga (2), then Asahi (3). After comes the 2nd years : Nishinoya (4), Tanaka (5), Ennoshita (6), Kinoshita (7), Narita (8). Finally, the 1st years : Kageyama (9), Hinata (10), Tsukishima (11) and Yamaguchi (12). It's also the reason why Hinata is so pissed at being number 10 before realizing it was the Little Giant's number: Kageyama had a lower number and thus was considered more important to the team. So coming back to Kita, receiving the number 1 (and the title of captain) despite never having played a single game, is such an incredible honor and show of trust by his coach, that he just gets overwhelmed by emotions. He is the most important player of his team, without even having to touch a ball. Hope that clarifies the scene! :)
I bought one of those mystery keychains that was Haikyuu characters. Sure i would have loved tsuki or Kageyama, but i got Kita! And honestly I was much more happy with that since I respect him so much.

Man kita's jersey appointment it's fantastic, the guy is hardwork personified without the angst of oikawa, like they coach said he may not be a star talent. But the guy has no flaws either.
You finally got to properly meet the single best character in the show! There are a bunch of characters I personally love more because we've spent more time with them, but if I had to choose a single character to draw life inspiration from, it undeniably HAS to be Kita. He's just... perfect.
The author mentions that among the characters, the one who Shinsuke Kita would be most likely to get along with is Aone from Date-Tech. (Because they both live carefully every day)
The thing about Kita that we love is that he’s not a super player like Atsumu or Kageyama but just how he is a simple guy. Like he’s better than average yet not the best however, it’s due to his habit of maintaining what he is used to do, made what he does flawless. ✨ And that it’s a simple as that. 🥺💜

I remember back when season 4 was coming out and waiting patiently for the Kita introduction, and every single reactor has fallen in love with this man so quickly, his natural charisma has infected the entire community within those 20 minutes. Despite his short time on screen, he's probably one of the most beloved side characters in Haikyuu, wise beyond his years, a natural leader capable of handling the Miya twins, with some of his words later on being relevant to important themes in Haikyuu well beyond the current match.
This is definetly my favorite episode centered about a player outside Karasuno, it's so sweet and so deserved he gets the recognition from the coach finally
and THIS is why Kita is loved universally. he's so simple and hard working but also caring. there is another guy JUST like him but a tad bit more extreme and suffice to say, that guy definitely has STAR POWER lol hope they give his small arc as good enough time and detail as they did with kita-san.
I think it's easy to like Kita. He's solid, steady, logical, rational, and smart. He doesn't do anything extravagant and he's a hard worker. He's disciplined, and he keeps the team in line without raising his voice, but by just using calm, rational arguments. What's not to love about him? Not to be dramatic but he helped me out of my slump. I was struggling with my studies, feeling that I'm not good enough for a PhD. But Kita's philosophy made me feel better: I don't have to be the best, I just have to keep doing what's necessary, the best that I can. The results is just going to be a side effect of the process.
the scene where kita gets his jersey -- not only a jersey, but a captain's jersey -- always makes me cry haha. it's such a touching moment. and i love him!!!! although my favorite types of characters tend to be the more flamboyant ones (atsumu, oikawa, etc lol). i love almost every single character in the series, though. 😭

Yeap, Kita is great, one thing to keep in mind though is that all these teams are there to win. In the sense that even though kurasuno is our protagonist the antagonist of the stories aren’t bad people like in fighting anime. There is no battle between good and evil, just two teams that want to win. I love this show because it does such a good job at representing both side of the net in positive ways that don’t make you feel bad for liking players on every team not just kurasuno. Sorry for the long post that I’m pretty sure is just rambling lol love your reviews and I can’t wait to see more.
Kita has been practicing volleyball seriously since middle school but since he wasn't that special, they didn't even take him in team. They gave him manager/analyst kind of role instead. Counting that, Kita was in volleyball team for 6 years got his jersey in 5th year and got chance to play in an official match in his 6th year. Also some people fail to notice they swapped out their ace ( who is even top 5 in japan) to being Kita in. Its a bigger deal once you realise that.

THIS MOMENT. FINALLY. i knew it! i knew Sarah gonna love Kita. this episode really inspired me a lot. I love the really fun twist on the "someone is always watching" phrase, where Kita is also the person who watches and observes everyone around him. His methodical personality makes him a keen observer so that he can bring the best out in other people without being overly flashy. It's really interesting because characters like Kageyama or Oikawa are often highlighted as they bring out the best in their teammates through sets that are just disgustingly good and everyone can see that, whereas the things Kita does will go unnoticed by 99% of the people around him yet he still has such a tremendous impact.

Congratulations to Kita for just casually strolling into the love house. Love how Sarah wanted to paused a few times during the kita backstory but just couldn't and just keeps having the "that's my boy" grin. Also, a little more detail about Kita, as Suna pointed out, he never received a uniform back in middle school and only got it during the current year.

Kita love! One of the moments which always gives me goosebumps is when kita’s grandma saying “there’s always someone watching” fades to the coach watching him. It’s like, even though he never got a jersey in middle school, his efforts were still being noticed.
I knew you would love Kita! There is no one that hates him, his ideals might seem sooo obvious and simple but honestly it's easy to forget about it. And specially when Haikyuu's cast is full of what they call "Volleyball Idiots", these kids so full of adrenaline and with such a high-anxiety mentality XD
It's so soothing, just being reminded that as long as you are diligent everyday, you can be compensated, or you can count on your efforts being able to pull up results
There is still a little bit more of wisdom we need to hear from Shinsuke, but he is such an amazing character ;O; I find myself coming back to his philosophy almost daily and it really calms my anxious mind 💛
So overall, not surprised at all that he entered your love house practically 10 seconds after appearing, that's just who Kita Shinsuke is, what a role model
So true that it's easy to forget. We so often fall into the trap of results-oriented thinking. The real focus should be on mastery and the process, because results will follow. But man, even for the smallest things in life it can be extremely hard to uncouple your motivation and happiness from the results.
The next 4 episodes are absolute bangers, some of the best of the entire show especially 22-24

Huge congrats to Kita expediting his way through the Love House AS he deserves. I had a feeling you would love him, but for him to get a private suite after just half an episode just shows how incredible he is. He is truly just a perfect and wonderful person and teammate, and his mentality just connects with me so so much. When he cried after getting his jersey (his first one, AND the captain role at that), I remember just Melting. This last run of episodes is some of the most phenomenal in the entire series, but this episode always stands out to me because of Kita's introduction and backstory... we all love him so dearly!
My first volleyball coach always said, "Find the FUN in FUNdamentals!" reiterating that the daily grinds and boring practices are what shapes the skills of a player. I feel like Kita's the prime example of this and I try to live by my coach's words to this day.
Kita is a ton of the fandom's favourite character. He appears a fair amount the rest of the season, but I agree, wish we got to see him earlier lol As cool as he is here, my favourite moment for him hasn't come up yet. He's amazing.
It's no surprise that Kita is the most popular Haikyuu character among high school volleyball players at the national competitions (according to a recent poll). He's also the favorite character of Yanagida Masahiro, one of Japan's best spikers and ex-captain of their national team

I knew you would fall in love with him, but I admit I did NOT expect it to happen this fast. On the previous video I predicted that he'd earn a key by the end of the season, I was shocked that he managed to have his own suite reserved less than halfway into the episode!! My jaw hurt from smiling so much watching you completely melt for him. He is near-universally adored by every Haikyuu fan, and there is much more Kita wisdom in store during these last few episodes.
Kita basically plays the role of both the dad and mom of Inarizaki. Best exemplified in that flashback of Atsumu having a cold. Stern to Atsumu's face, scolding Gin for encouraging his recklessness, but behind the scenes he put together a care package with all of his favorite foods. It wasn't "You being sick hurts the team and hurts our ability to win" it was "Your health is more important than anything else, please take care of yourself properly". He cares about everyone so deeply, and that makes him not just the ultimate leader, but the ultimate role model.
By the way, if you're still having trouble with the whole Aran/Alan/Aaron/etc. thing, you can just call him "Ojiro" it that's easier.
I'm not a very disciplined person (or at least I feel like I'm not), but sometimes I remember that people like Kita exist. I feel like I can borrow being like them for sometime, and that gives me the patience to slow down and do things properly. Cleaning the dishes. Maintaining my bike. Folding my clothes. It's a good feeling, and it pulls me along.
Having watched this, yeah, I do love Kita, I cry everytime he hugs his shirt. Even when he picks up and is walking, he's already holding it very dearly, as something very precious

I think Kita became an at least top 5 character for everyone when he cried getting his captain's jersey.
I love how Kita doesn't care and just keep routine for himself, but her grandma's word of "someone's always watching" actually fruited when Inarizaki's coach has been the one watching him and giving him the reward he deserves.
Since Kita only participated the official match for first time during his third year and has been playing since middle school, it is likely that he has to wait at least FIVE YEARS to earn his first jersey 😢 (but also named captain on top of that ✨). Now that I'm writing this, I just realized it is also the same pattern with Sarah's love house 😆. He has to wait for 4 seasons to meet Sarah, but acing the entry of love house in just one day 🍧🍒❤
The most relatable thing ever was watching you fall deeper and deeper for Kita. I remember feeling this exact same way. It was like - "How is this dude that I just learned the name of five minutes ago already one of my top characters in the show?" The moment he received his jersey? It was over for me.
i remember when i first got introduced to kita i automatically loved him. his methodical and thorough thought process are everything, and he's good at volleyball too??? please, when i saw him cry because it had been at least 3 years before he could get a jersey, that's when i knew he would be one of my favorite characters.#kitashinsuke slays

I, too, fell in love with Kita almost instantly . There's one dialogue that he'll make at the end of the third set and that one dialogue has been my motivation since so long, other than Tanaka's "I'm just average" monologue.

its cool how they add those audience couple (friend) , the idea is to make volleyball more friendly and open for newbies, the way the author had a volleyball player and the girl a completely new to the game is really good. if i remember it correctly haikyu resulted to more people getting int volleyball in japan and prolly worldwide as well.
Kita's approach is inspiring. That grind of consistently doing things towards the goal will reward you. Improving little everyday is better than none. Making it a habit and routine is the process towards success.

Oh, I love Kita, and I'm always excited when reactors get to meet him. That phrase from his backstory "Someone is always watching" is something I remind myself every now and then. Efforts are not always immediately rewarded, but constant work will be seen eventually by others, however it's all about holding on and being persistent until then, and a lot of people don't have that in them. That's what makes him such a good character and role model imo.
Them miya twins backstory is really well done too!! Gives you a new perspective on them (especially Atsumu) and the way their dynamic is portrayed is really wholesome 😊 It’s only gonna get better and better from here, I can’t wait for episode 24 ‼️
In Rintaro's inner monologue at the end, they show the guess blocker guy from shiratorizawa when he's talking about the blockers he's faced. I like to think inarizaki beat shiratorizawa last nationals, when they got second place.
With the end of the match approaching, some of the best moments in the entire series are gonna come hard and fast, can't wait for the barrage of tears and joy.
Someone told me once so don't quote me but the number is also important in Japanese school sports. The lower the number the higher you are on the team. So bring handed number 1 is saying you are the captain and you have earned that respect

Kita-san became my favourite the first time I saw him in the manga like 5 years ago and he still is. His way of life and the way he's thinking is so inspiring and he's just... so sweet. Every time I watch this episode I get so happy, and I'm very glad you liked him. Boy didn't play in the games for five school years and then instantly became captain, because he was always doing his best and someone finally saw it. So great
To clarify some things about Kita (best boy), he wasn't given a jersey during middle school only. He had one in high school, but didn't get to play a single time during his first and second years. Despite that, he got the title of captain and the number 1, which is the reason for his tears.
In Japanese school teams, numbers are not a personnal choice. There are given by seniority (3rd years get the first numbers, then the 2nd years, then the 1st years), and then by usefulness to the team. By that logic, the number 1 is more often than not the captain. There are a few exceptions, but yeah.
In Karasuno, for the 3rd years, Daichi is considered the most important, so number 1. Then Suga (2), then Asahi (3). After comes the 2nd years : Nishinoya (4), Tanaka (5), Ennoshita (6), Kinoshita (7), Narita (8). Finally, the 1st years : Kageyama (9), Hinata (10), Tsukishima (11) and Yamaguchi (12). It's also the reason why Hinata is so pissed at being number 10 before realizing it was the Little Giant's number: Kageyama had a lower number and thus was considered more important to the team.
So coming back to Kita, receiving the number 1 (and the title of captain) despite never having played a single game, is such an incredible honor and show of trust by his coach, that he just gets overwhelmed by emotions. He is the most important player of his team, without even having to touch a ball.

I bought one of those mystery keychains that was Haikyuu characters. Sure i would have loved tsuki or Kageyama, but i got Kita! And honestly I was much more happy with that since I respect him so much.

Man kita's jersey appointment it's fantastic, the guy is hardwork personified without the angst of oikawa, like they coach said he may not be a star talent. But the guy has no flaws either.
You finally got to properly meet the single best character in the show! There are a bunch of characters I personally love more because we've spent more time with them, but if I had to choose a single character to draw life inspiration from, it undeniably HAS to be Kita. He's just... perfect.
The author mentions that among the characters, the one who Shinsuke Kita would be most likely to get along with is Aone from Date-Tech. (Because they both live carefully every day)
The thing about Kita that we love is that he’s not a super player like Atsumu or Kageyama but just how he is a simple guy. Like he’s better than average yet not the best however, it’s due to his habit of maintaining what he is used to do, made what he does flawless. ✨ And that it’s a simple as that. 🥺💜

I remember back when season 4 was coming out and waiting patiently for the Kita introduction, and every single reactor has fallen in love with this man so quickly, his natural charisma has infected the entire community within those 20 minutes. Despite his short time on screen, he's probably one of the most beloved side characters in Haikyuu, wise beyond his years, a natural leader capable of handling the Miya twins, with some of his words later on being relevant to important themes in Haikyuu well beyond the current match.

I think it's easy to like Kita. He's solid, steady, logical, rational, and smart. He doesn't do anything extravagant and he's a hard worker. He's disciplined, and he keeps the team in line without raising his voice, but by just using calm, rational arguments. What's not to love about him?
Not to be dramatic but he helped me out of my slump. I was struggling with my studies, feeling that I'm not good enough for a PhD. But Kita's philosophy made me feel better: I don't have to be the best, I just have to keep doing what's necessary, the best that I can. The results is just going to be a side effect of the process.

Yeap, Kita is great, one thing to keep in mind though is that all these teams are there to win. In the sense that even though kurasuno is our protagonist the antagonist of the stories aren’t bad people like in fighting anime. There is no battle between good and evil, just two teams that want to win. I love this show because it does such a good job at representing both side of the net in positive ways that don’t make you feel bad for liking players on every team not just kurasuno. Sorry for the long post that I’m pretty sure is just rambling lol love your reviews and I can’t wait to see more.

Kita has been practicing volleyball seriously since middle school but since he wasn't that special, they didn't even take him in team. They gave him manager/analyst kind of role instead.
Counting that, Kita was in volleyball team for 6 years got his jersey in 5th year and got chance to play in an official match in his 6th year.
Also some people fail to notice they swapped out their ace ( who is even top 5 in japan) to being Kita in. Its a bigger deal once you realise that.
Haven't even watched it and already can't wait for next week. Now is were it gets peak Haikyuu.

i knew it! i knew Sarah gonna love Kita. this episode really inspired me a lot. Huge respect to Kita! being consistent person without any shaken is so hard. you just have to do it gradually every day and the result will show up and reward your efforts! when i'm tired of anything in life, the moment when Kita got his first Jersey was come to my mind right away and gave me a lot of strenge so yeah! can't deny that i really love this man! 😊
I love the really fun twist on the "someone is always watching" phrase, where Kita is also the person who watches and observes everyone around him. His methodical personality makes him a keen observer so that he can bring the best out in other people without being overly flashy. It's really interesting because characters like Kageyama or Oikawa are often highlighted as they bring out the best in their teammates through sets that are just disgustingly good and everyone can see that, whereas the things Kita does will go unnoticed by 99% of the people around him yet he still has such a tremendous impact.
