I'm from Santa Ana,(part of OC) and I feel like most of the areas they mentioned are the higher class housings and here in Santa Ana we're not ghetto but we do have lots of ignorant people. But I love my city!
Great video...yeah I recall as a kid the O.C. had lots of Asians, but not as many as now. I discussed this with other Asian-Americans of different ages and backgrounds. Back in the day L.A. of course had a variety of Asian areas, but what was different then was there were the Asians that lived in East L.A,. and South Central (mostly Japanese-Americans, & some ABC'S around Chinatown, etc), and they were "Asians of the Hood" types; though of course not everyone was gang affiliated or acted gang-ish by any means. You also had Asians living in the South Bay, Westside, downtown L,A., etc as there still are now. So then the Asians of L.A. thought the Asians of O.C. were less "street wise", etc. Also there was more teasing and bullying in O.C. of Asians generally by whites and Latinos. Nowadays I think things have socially leveled out much more. Statistically there may even be more Asians living in O.C. than L.A. though that is hard to exactly determine. Overall I agree with the observations of the people in the video, that L.A is more trendy (Hollywood), and O.C. more laid back. So its not better or worse, just different.

I'd say LA has more variety. I go to Rowland Heights or San Gabriel/Rosemead area for a variety of food, but Garden Grove/Santa Ana area has a lot of good Vietnamese food. Irvine has a lot of variety also though. Ahhh. Idk. Asian population in the IE is so minimal. I'd say most of 'em would be found in San Bernardino or Riverside. Because of CSUSB and UCR. You can find all the Viets and Filipinos around UCR area. LOL.

OC, we do have all the good food if you know where to go. and plus we got all the malls. and the HILLS too. Laguna hills is my spot for pics!

OC Asians only hang with each other if you’re not Asian you cannot hang with them or go to their house. OC Asians don’t date outside their box because they do not want to get disowned by their families. La Asian are use to diversity therefore they date other ethnicities and have different friends. LA Asian seem to be more fun and friendlier because of this. I would assume that this is why in LA the Asian lingo and style is better. They are not scared to learn new things about other cultures. Asians in La learn new thing an add it to their culture. This shows they are willing to evolve an Americanize.
Los Angeles has waaay better food and its more affordable than OC. There's better sushi, kbbq, shabu shabu, dimsum, thai food, viet places, and dessert places. But OC has way better boba spots such as milk bar, craved tea house, and roasting water!
Los Angeles has been ranked the highest cost for living there's definitely not poor people there, just people trying to make it and afford their way of live in an overpriced city.

LA has a busier lifestyle cause there are more jobs here that is in the mainstream. Hollywood/Film, Tech, and soon Google, it's an on demand city. Rent is higher too compared to OC per square footage. You can't relax if your rent is half your income. OC peeps thats in the Mainstream works in LA then drive back home because houses are cheaper.

We have asians in Tijuana majority chinese but 68% all from the Canton community. They mind their own business. And are more of their job and go home. 3 hours from TJ is Mexicali a city and the capital of Baja California, chinese are more down to earth and the asian community is much bigger and more chill.
