Have to give props to you Ziggy. I am only new to your streams. And I found out about POE. And I had no idea about Builds, was very confusing to me. Now I have sort of an idea, and have a starter build for myself to get use to the game. Appreciate it dude. ;)
hey ziggy, this build is amazing. Im using it and i have to say that even with mediocre gear it has very nice damage and survivability. I wad also very lucky because i found the call of the brotherhood. I'm using it and the enemies melt instantly :) good job with the build
Hello, I might be late to the party, but I'm playing an Elemental Hierophant pretty much thanks to this guide. It's pretty cool. Now, I just want to day that using Romira's Banquet and Conviction of Power you can cap Endurance Charges pretty easily thanks. It's a good synergy in my opinion. Thanks for this guide man you're awesome!
I don't usually comment on build videos but... Man ZiggyD... I thought this was wanna be one of those instances where i try the build and find that you have great luck with drop and you do it look easy but... Maybe i've been lucky with drop myself but i'm melting enemies on my way maps, almost half way through merciless and playin effortlessly. Thanks Dude!
+ZiggyD Gaming is just my storm call is at 15, so in a few levels i could craft it 20%Q thanks for the quick awnser and for an amazing and fun build (and cheap!)
+ZiggyD Gaming Which defensive gems are you using in this build? My templar is doing a fucking hell of damage, like 18k at best, but in the other hand is really weak when taking lots of damage. Any advise?
Diego Lagrost Cast When Damage Taken Immortal Call, Arctic Armor a Chaos Golem ar all good options. And warlord's mark for leech on curse on hit with Herald of Thunder is great too
Hey Ziggy! You should make a screen similar to the one at 9:43 but with the skillgems to use for this build. I know you mention them earlier in the video but a visual layout like that makes it much easier and simpler to understand. Thanks!!
I was a bit skeptical about this build at first, but decided to swallow my pride and go ahead and try it. Why isn't EVERYONE talking about this build? It's amazing. The passive skills you have access to allow for a build that can move and cast super fast, and it does a ton of damage. Best of all, I was actually able to beat Malachai on merciless--I only died once, and that was because I got a bit careless. Otherwise I was able to take some pretty brutal hits that would have killed any of my other builds. Maligaro was a bit of a struggle, but I didn't have a whole lot of chaos resistance, and he WAS beatable. That said, I prefer to place Herald of Thunder in an unlinked socket and instead put Increased Area of Effect in its place to make a huge Orb of Storms. Also, I opted to not go into the Shadow area, instead, picking up energy shield and lightning damage passives, like Crackling Speed and Unnatural Calm. I'm only level 70 now, though, so we'll see if that holds up well in later levels. Also, I recommend using golems for their buffs, maybe linking them to Blind, as well. The Curse on Hit for Orb of Storms works really well, as it has a huge radius and allows you to curse enemies and also get your Elemental Overload activated in one casting, and Warlord's Mark does a great job of keeping your mana filled for Mind over Matter. That said, temporal chains can also be a good option, or even conductivity if you want more damage. Alternatively, you can unlink the curses for more versatility and instead upgrade OoS with other things like lightning penetration or Blind, but I find being able to drop the curse with the Orb really saves a lot of time. Finally, I'm a little torn over the use of Herald of Thunder and Clarity. They are helpful, but having that extra bunch of mana for the really big hitters is also a life saver.
G'day man, gald to hear the build is working out well for you and even better to hear that you aren't afraid to make modifications to better suit your playstyle and goals - that's what PoE is all about! As for whether to drop auras for more unreserved mana pool - if you do so consider using the clear mind jewel for a damage and regen bonus. However, I'd first recommend trying to rely more on a mana or hybrid flask to restore you mana as you take hits. You can lean on mana flasks really hard in a MoM build and gain a lot of survivability as a result.
Thanks for the tip. I have noticed that using a seething sanctified flask seems to be a really good way to recover mana in a pinch. I've thought about using Clear Mind, but I like Arctic Armor too much. I think I'll give it a try, though, to see how it works. It might be worth it.
Very nice guide, but can u make forum guide for this build or atleast reply here with skill gem combos in gear, because while listening im getting confused :/
This build + buffed up decoy totem = god mode. Seriously. Just came back from a few years and ripped a summoner at normal essence pack in koams dream. Just hit 67 on this toon and I absolutely melted everything up to this point, 100% solo and self found! (excluding piety & malachai rushes)
Well... I was unsure what I was going to start the league with. I was considering RF totems, Spark, Arc, and a few other options, however, I'm for sure using this! Looks awesomely fun to play! :D
Any chance this build is written anywhere? The video is good for explaining it and really sold me on it, but it would be much easier to put a text document up in my second monitor to reference than a youtube video. Played the quick leveling spark build to 41 and about to transition. This has been the most fun I have had since I took a break last year.
A very old Template, still very much useable in 3.0. Killed shaper easially using Hysteria essences in a lightning based build. Hysteria essences allows you to make pretty strong spells using your gloves and helm. With the slight changes to the tree I have about 30% shock chance in a none crit built which is more then enought gives the raw power of the lightning spells used. A Hysteria built helmet allows for a 30% MORE multiplier to socketed elemental gems, which means you could basicly use any elemental spell in a pseudo 6 link. Storm Call(Lvl 21, 20% quality was very lucky and got my +1 level corruption on my 2nd try) - Concentrated Effect - Controlled Destruction - Added Lightning/Lightning Pen gives a total of 153% More multiplier lifting up Storm Call to a extremely strong Single Target/Pseudo AoE ability and to be fair even without a carcass jack the AoE aint that bad even with conc effect. I sorta wanted Spell echo in there, but given the amounts of raw +cast speed aviable around the base template it isnt needed at all and you gain way higher dps with stronger shock values for most content(some bosses have way to much hp to allow a strong shock). Less duration is a nice substitute if you find the original storm call duration a bother but to be fair i never saw it as a great need for the built overall but its on par with the strenght granted from lightning penetration for most content. Currently i pack about 5.4 casts / second, which is way to many casts for the manabar to keep up but allows for some strong bursts when needed. To combine with this i used a pair of hysteria crafted gloves for the +16% more cast speed, a baby faster casting gem making the gloves a pseudo 6 Link. Ball lightning - Spell totem - Slower Projectiles - Elemental Focus. With the +2 totem Ascendry node you get 3 "weaker" totems with very low investments at the drawback of a "less multiplier". Thing about Ball lightning however is that its raw strenght acctually comes from multiple quick hits rather then hard hits, which in turn makes this draw back less of a burden. However i really do recommend a quality spell totem for the placement speed, since its really expensive for a totem hybrid to invest in the totem nodes and the base totem placement speed just felt very disruptive with the rest of the build. The thing about these totems is that even without any multiple projectiles the raw +Area, attack speed and slower Projectiles make the totems able to hit most of the screen and with three of these totems up you deal more then enought raw damage to clear most content even without self casting storm call. As my chest i only had a five linked rare chestpiece with Orb of Storms - Warlords Mark - Curse on hit - Arcane Surge. Was planning to add a longer duration gem in the 6-link eventually but never really happened since ive moved on to other characters. Then ofc shieldcharge, faster attacks and fortify aswell as a cast when hit, immortal call and lightning Golem setup. I must say that its not the highest dps or most tanky char in PoE, but its quite middle of the line HC, SSF and even shaper viable(with correct gear setups). At the end it felt very fluid, decent move speed(especially while shield charging), very few cast animations and pretty high total dps. What really enjoyed me the most was the overall flexibility of placing totems and being able to try avoid combat on harder fights while being able to do very reliable burst dmg when possible. Overall i spent no currency on this char(unable too since i played SSF), so its a nice built for some laughts and giggles if not its quite user friendly since once you got the basic parts of the built finnished you can easially make it a low life built or basicly use any spells you like... I suppose a low life version whould provide even better results, but its pretty hard to get hold of proper gear for low life in SSF.
Im acctually trying to build a Melee version atm. problem as i see it is the struggle to get hold of decent scaling, especially accuracy without hurting the "base concept" of the template too much. But so far its quite decent and i use a 100% conversion glacial hammer for ST/Light Cleave in my headpiece with 2x of the treshold jewels. I also use a massive Ice Crash in my gloves for some serious AoE when needed. Fairly limited to leap slams atm, but it keeps fortify up at the very least linked to a Cast on Crit Molten shell, usually it procs reasonably often but i dont really know if its worth it given the low amounts of raw crit aviable(skipped multipliers). The crits mostly experimental too increase freeze chances, to make better use of herald of ice.
I'm playing SSF and I found essence worm, that thing is awesome for this build because it lets you have more unreserved mana. I'm thinking that pledge of hands would be pretty good too.
Okay, going back to PoE after a hiatus. I'm not 100% sure about this build but I have to believe. To BELIEVE with my old man creeper - with his shabby garb and pink boots on. I prioritise damage over life, generally, but that just got me so far where enemies literally one shots me. I might last longer with this build.
You forgot the +1fire/+1cold helmet Ziggy! j/k ;) This was def one of the builds I'm debating on running, the other being the new shockwave skill. Since that one requires weapons it might just be a 2nd character already planned. And I still want to run a Lightning Warp totem build -.- so much choice!
A +1 pseudo five link is better than an actual 5l. But yeah the potential eventually caps out. At that point you use those slots for your extra skills out Vaal storm call in your helm for the 20% pen and put your main skill in a 6link. Or you use that 6l on a new build. The point is that the 4links are cheap and carry you very far.
This is actually quite nice build. I have tried it on Perandus standard and hit level 70 with no problems at all. DPS is high enough that you don't actually see live unique and rare mobs. You see them when they die. Dominus died in 10 seconds :D. I've got lucky to find Carcass Jack and Windscream so I am running 2 curse setup now on gloves - Warlord Mark + Enfeeble. For helmet I am using Doedre's Scorn which will scale future more if I can afford to +1 additional curse corrupted amulet. But I want really nice one so 1 exalted will be insufficient. At this point I will probably change gloves to Asenath's Gentle Touch if Temporal Chains works this way. If not I will setup the 3 curses on the body armor, because I am using it with Vaal Storm Call right now. Got quite nice ES shield for 1 chaos with 350 ES + resist so 3.7K life + 1.8K ES + MoM with 0.8K free mana pool is quite nice. Also don't need Clarity aura at all, because I an running Rallying Cry + Increased Duration which constantly gives me + 11 mana regen and Stone Golem for life regen. Btw Orb of Storms covers the whole screen with this AoE. It's impressive.
Nice build Ziggy. Gonna use this to gain currency in the new league. I would love to see a guide where you mix this build with non-crit arc build; since this an aoe-build maybe use shock-nova? Just a thought
Yea but in the end it still won't have nearly the clear speed of a number of other ascendancy builds. This is without a doubt a good one for cheap or new players but Scion with Raider/Ele (fire/cold) or Raider/Inqui (crit lightning) will dominate clear speeds. Having constant Onslaught up with 7 or more frenzy charges... 48% cast speed with 20% movement to stack with high crit on inqui or raw dmg from ele /w golem. That will likely be my first build once this starts. I will probably try a number of the others but those two builds are what i am most interested in.
Would it be possible for you to list the Link combinations you are using ? I am not so good in this game yet and dont have much knowledge. I am using your build right now as a beginner build.
I now have 1,401 hours on record for Path of Exile, and I still have no idea what the hell I'm doing!! such a noob T_T ..I really need to actually start doing what Ziggy says in these vids instead of watching them and then going and something completely different that fails haha.. love your videos anyway ZiggyD, thanks heaps for all the tips!
In this video, you recommend rushing to Elemental Overload, but in your Spark Leveling Guide, you recommend linking both Spark and Orb of Storms to Controlled Destruction. What would you recommend instead of Controlled Destruction if you're going to be taking Elemental Overload? I imagine having both of those together isn't the idea.
ziggy, you're saying, this build is beginnerfriendly. my problem is, i am pretty new to POE. an item/bandits/defensive skillgem setup in a thread would be really nice, since i don't know all the gems. its kinda hard to figure out, what items and gem setups i should get. i dont even know what weapon would be the best for this setup. for me as a beginner, this youtube video dosen't help me that much:(
+arno nym I explained all of those things in the video though :( As for weapons high lightning+spell damage & cast speed. Any unique that looks good for lightning or general casting (like pledge of hands) works fine.
+ZiggyD Gaming it still isn't that easy for me to figure out. for example the CWDT setup. i don't know how far i should level the gems etc. or what about the bandits?i have few more questions. just saying that a thread at the forums would be much easier to discuss things. however, still happy that you sharing your builds. thanks!
+arno nym generally speaking you dont want to level you cast on damage taken that high. most setups run it between level 1-5. after that look at the gem and it'll tell you what level the associated skill needs to be in order for the cwdt to work. as far as bandits, you help the ones he had listed. if you're still not sure then watch more videos or just play without a build in mind and have fun.
Enjoying the build overall. Question: in your first video you recommended Spark + Orb of Storms, but in this one you recommend Storm Call + Orb of Storms. Why the change?
Is there a in depth guide or a page i could refer to cause its quiet hard to play over and over again for the build it would be great if u could do that but if not then its okay :) love ur builds have been watching and following :)
+moon Charm I agree with you. He speaks rather fast and following gem linking and such is difficult. Most other build creators seem to create very detailed builds on forums where they provide this info in a written form. I imagine that his channel get so many comments that he cannot catch all of these requests.
Wouldn't you need a lot more mana for the Mind Over Matter combo to be most effective? Your free mana is just good for 1600 dmg, and then MoM is useless.
+LoDsuper You'll see problems as soon as you hit mid level maps and start getting chunked with massive hits. I run a Flameblast Scion who relies on MOM for defense (plus 5 endurance charges, Cloak of Flame, 24% block, about the same ES ZiggyD had, and 100% uptime on Granite and Jade flasks). She has about 5650 life, 2850 mana unreserved (slightly more than covers MOM's 30%), and still gets knocked down to almost no mana instantly sometimes. ZiggyD's build looks fun, but it in no way looks HC viable as he said in the video. You're going to need to turn a bunch of those damage nodes he recommends into mana nodes if you want to stay alive once you hit maps.
+TheInevitron i mean in fairness this is meant to be a very basic starter leveling type build. and if your playing hc id hope youd do more research on your own than just what one person says in a vid
TheInevitron 2850 unreserved, u wot. are u running blasphemy + warlords? because 2% leech is insane for keeping mana up. expecially on things like ball lightning/storm call. flame blast requires you so stand still and charge, so it's natural you get hit more.
+LoDsuper I can drop a 10 stack Flameblast in under a second (though I almost never need to go over 2-4), and I can do it from safely across the screen. Ziggy's standing still way more in this video than I ever do. You're also vastly overvaluing his leech, which caps at 20% of his life and mana per second in the best case scenario where he's maxing it out, and that can be hard to do because of the leech changes. Spike damage is the major killer in POE. His build is great at sustaining little hits from random dorks, but it's absolutely terrible against spike damage. A pack of blue devourers, tough bosses, or any particularly bad confluence of mods and monsters can easily kill him. His 40% MOM is going to prevent less than 700 damage there, maybe 1100 with perfect gear and more mana from leveling, which is practically nothing when it's your main form of defense.
Thanks for the great guide again ZiggyD, I only ever play your guides these days as I have limited time and they are always enjoyable. However I am not sure what to do gear wise you do list a couple of options in the video but with the ascendancy options I would really like to see what your boots, helm and gloves specifically look like or/and some unique options, Carcass Jack is pretty expensive and you mention there are a tonne of other armours out there could you list a couple? I am currently lvl 60 and still running dual scepters although not with +1 anymore, does it matter if I wand and shield or whatever?
Tell me if my math is wrong but according to my Calculations Iron Will shoud be superior to Controlled destruction with the strength from the skill tree alone.
I'm thinking of trying this build, what wand/scepter would you recommend using? Could you link us your equipped items with the gems setup, I'm really curious. Have a nice day ZiggyD! :D
Dude. Ziggy. This build is like a master secret build. Like, Illuminati shit. It's cheap as h*ck and extremely powerful. I can't think of a cheaper more efficient build. But hear me out, this isn't just a 'cheap' build; It's an effective build that is fun to play. Thanks alot for this.
+mattrg320 Ice trap + cluster trap, or poison cluster trap. Look at pohx kappers build its so op and cheap. YOu can literally do all bosses up until merc in less than 10 seconds.
What does he say @9:22 "It's also a great idea to run a ______ storm call setup". Since I am new I don't have the full vocabulary of this game down yet, and lack a good understanding of the game still.
I was using your Spark Scion build and I thought that build was awesome but GOD DAMN this build is the best I've played. I never die (other than by traps because I suck) and never run out of mana and I can lay waste to everything so fast. I was skeptical at first when i watched your video but wow am I a believer now. Thanks so much. I just have one question: Is there a better travel power than Flame dash, lighting warp, or leap slam that I can use in the Dungeon? I am sick of dying by those stupid traps. Thanks for the video.
I prefer lighting warp because its essentially a teleport which means you don't travel "through" traps but teleport behind them instead. which minimizes the damage you take.
It takes a while to get going but its worth it in the end. I had trouble getting enough mana leftover, after the resveration of % based buffs like herald of thunder and arctic armor tho. Manatank op ^^
Hey Ziggy! Awsome content as always## i was thinking about using lightning tendrils as a main spell in conjunction with orb of storms. ithink that by reahing higher lvls illhave no prob with close range casting, got anythoughts on that? i didnt see it mentioned in your alternatve skills :D i think a similar set up could work with flame surge and a fire trap set up, instead of orb of storms. im not sure though wether fire trap could proc eo as often though. lol im so hyped for this expansion, ive gone though 1000 builds in my head already
+artemis142 For CWDT there are generally some guidelines: you want CWDT to trigger when needed. If it triggers to often for your need (i.e. molten shell), then you want to increase it one or two levels. If it always triggers when you don't need it (if it constantly triggers after a big fight, when you get a few more hits) then you need to decrease it by a level. Adjust the active gems accordingly. This is specially the case with something like molten shell or regen totem. If you use active gems like ball lightning -> GMP -> blind/knockback, i.e. you just want to use a utility effect (or curse), then you want CWDT at a very low level. Be aware that in this build, you already have OOS - Herald of Thunder - Curse on Hit - Warlords Mark, so another Curse (like Enfeeble) on CWDT won't work.
I was thinking about doing this kind of a build with Righteous Fire. (20% extra aoe from gloves! RF only needs 4L!) Just can't decide between going Hierophant or Chieftain.
Hey Ziggy! Thanks for another awesome guide. i just have a noob question about Ascendancy classes. Why did you choose the Hierophant over the Inquisitor here?
Ziggy, you haven't even mention Elemental Focus support gem, which also gives More multiplier in return of not applying elemental ailments which is fine in my opinion. Any thoughts of this gem? Or maybe you'll even make a quick video about how good or bad it is?
Hi, Ziggy, I've been playing POE for quite a while now. I've never been good at it, but I know a thing or two, and this build is really what I'm looking for: something that's cheap, but effective. However, there are a few choices you made that confused me, and I think if I understand them, it will help my understanding of the game. First, why didn't you take the Eldritch Battery keystone? Wouldn't that have helped with conservation of the mana needed to reduce damage? It looks like you have a lot reserved, and in my experience, when I have that much mana resevered, it goes away REALLY fast at higher levels, even with arctic armor. Second, I thought it was strange that you spent all those points to get down into the Shadow area, when you could have used those points to get lots of other good skills that are much closer. Why didn't you take things like Annihilation, the Templar starting nodes, or the Crackling Speed clusters instead, for instance? It seems like they would have been more economical. Third, I noticed you seemed to favor Controlled Destruction over Elemental Focus. Why is that? I've always thought the chance to crit outweighed the chance to do status effects on enemies, especially high-level ones, where there's a chance they won't even proc. Finally, how come you don't use the lightning penetration support gem? I understand that Illuminated Devotion give penetration, but isn't more usually better here? The way most people talk, elemental penetration sort of trumps most other forms of support. Anyway, thanks for your time!
Cheers mate .. Could you please suggest some uniques that will enable this build to work late game? I've followed your guide skilltree wise, tho the uniques you mention kind of fall of late game .. any suggestions?
A question about MOM. Let's say you take a 1k hit, so 400 should go to your mana. What happens if you only have 300 mana? It should bring you to 0, but where does another 100 apply? Will it go to your hp cos you have 0 mana left or will it be mitigated anyway making MOM a flat dmg reduction regardless of your mana pool?
Hello, I noticed you mentioned what you were wearing on Gloves and helmet but not on anything else What called my attention were the boots, which contained 3 red crystals. would you mind sharing your gem setup? I'm having a hard time figuring how to optimize the gems outside of gloves and helmet :/
+ZiggyD Gaming Thanks mate. Keep up the good work. Love the stream. Too bad I cant watch you more since your timezone is kinda screwed for us here in Denmark.
Is there any remotely efficient way to tie the general frame of this build into a block heavy, Tempest Shield variation? Or has anyone here had any luck with Tempest Shield as more than tacked on utility?
Hey Ziggy - loving the build so far. For hardcore, what do you think about Eldritch Battery / Zealot's Oath? I was also thinking about getting Cloak of Flame for some extra survivability, but what do you think about getting block / spell block? Like with Stone of Lazhwar, Lioneye's Remorse, Rainbowstrides, etc. Just trying to figure out how to make the build even tankier
I thought about going with a frost caster build this addon, but the problem i have with that is the fact that if you go frost bomb it seems to be very problematic to keep the 'on crit' proc going. Maybe not worth the skillpoint then?
What is a good 5 link setup for Orb of Storms focused on damage? I have no idea what to put in my chest piece. So my thought was an Orb of Storms 5L would help kill bosses even faster. Then get another curse with Cast on Hit instead and grab Whispers of Doom.
This build has been fun. But, there were 2 things I think could have added. But other than that, video was amazing ^_^ First, is just pictures of the Gems and Skills which you could use. Just text makes it hard (personal problem) to find the right spell or support gem. Second, Bandit quest. Should I take Elemental resistance or more life? I would have loved to hear your opinion "I recomend, but you can take what you want" . . . If someone would be so kind and tell me which bandit I should take on which difficult? Thanks.
Hey Ziggy, keen to try this build for the start of 2.2 mate, but the link to the passive tree in the description is broken. It says it's an outdated tree and therefor won't load the nodes.
Hey Ziggy, as always great guide, extremely clear and well detailed. But I'm fairly concern about Elemental Overload being viable without building crit I'm about to swap Firestorm with Storm Call (was waiting to get Less Duration first) and my crit chance is just around 7%.
Hi Ziggy. Thank you very much for this guide. I am a new POE player and have been following your build. Right now I am level 83 struggling on tier 6 maps. Please could you advise the end game gear i should be using? i have the carcass jack and geofris helmet. If you could link your gear and gems setup would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
+Jens Bengtsson It's not that it's linked to HoT, it's that it's linked to Curse on hit and a Curse as well. Just having them in the 4 link together means that both Orb of Storms and Herald of Thunder will curse on hit.
+ZiggyD Gaming I dont see HoT in ur skillbar but it seems to be activated. Aa I am new, how is this worting? For me, I have HoT and Orb of Storm in my Skillbar and must have HoT activated (that circle animation). Help would be really nice mate
Hi, thank you for the fun video and build :) , I used it for my character and have some questions: You said that we should be able to get mind over matter keystone in hierophant class in cruel by the time we select mind over matter passive skill. That is simply not possible, how could you be so low - level and still beat Izaro in cruel. Maybe Izaro was weaker in alpha or you forgot how you levelled your character ? Are you sure this build is viable for end game contents ? Are high damage spikes a problem when you have so little mana for mind over matter ? Thanks in advance :)
Ziggy, what is the ability that turns ur hero into a lightning man? I'm very new to PoE and im playing ur build and having a lot of fun so far, but want to know what that skill is cuz it looks so cool! Thanks so much!
I understand this is 4 years old. I just recently started playing PoE. I would like something similar to this with the latest version of the game. Do you have advice on a build to go with for a beginner like myself that will end on a similar path?
"and because you level faster with no pants on"
God bless you, Ziggy
Have to give props to you Ziggy. I am only new to your streams. And I found out about POE. And I had no idea about Builds, was very confusing to me. Now I have sort of an idea, and have a starter build for myself to get use to the game. Appreciate it dude. ;)
hey ziggy, this build is amazing. Im using it and i have to say that even with mediocre gear it has very nice damage and survivability. I wad also very lucky because i found the call of the brotherhood. I'm using it and the enemies melt instantly :) good job with the build
Ziggy Can you please just list the skills you are using in the video and the support gems that you are using with them thanks for your time
Hello, I might be late to the party, but I'm playing an Elemental Hierophant pretty much thanks to this guide.
+Games A Fuego A little bit of a question... Would quality do any good to any of the gems we need?
+Games A Fuego Quality on your main gem of choice is usually pretty good but nothing mandatory!
Any advise?
Diego Lagrost
Cast When Damage Taken Immortal Call, Arctic Armor a Chaos Golem ar all good options. And warlord's mark for leech on curse on hit with Herald of Thunder is great too
This just became the build I'm going with right out the gate! Thanks for an awesome build!
Hey Ziggy! You should make a screen similar to the one at 9:43 but with the skillgems to use for this build. I know you mention them earlier in the video but a visual layout like that makes it much easier and simpler to understand. Thanks!!
What's funny, is before you posted this, I made this almost exact same build on skill builder. This will be very strong.
Thanks Ziggy, your guides help overcome my lack of game play ability. ;-)
Very nice guide, but can u make forum guide for this build or atleast reply here with skill gem combos in gear, because while listening im getting confused :/
+Pauly D his skill gem combos in gear information starts at around the 8:30 mark.
PoB for the love of god ! What is the prob with ZiggyD Gaming.
just had a 17% quality storm call drop and was looking for a build. This seems perfect.
Path of exile still seems to amaze me with its class flexibility.
I'm playing SSF and I found essence worm, that thing is awesome for this build because it lets you have more unreserved mana. I'm thinking that pledge of hands would be pretty good too.
Thank you, good human. Just what I was looking for!
Also,Inquisitor is a good option if anyone decides to go crit,it's nice to ignore resists of mobs.
PoE is a game of defense. Whatever build you're doing you need to prioritize defense if you wish to do late game content.
what is that gem he becomes transparent blue with? like in 8:49 thanks in andvance
The problem i see with this is that once you get your chest 5l or 6l, the bonus of getting the pseudo 5l is pretty much gone..
It's impressive.
help Oak for Bandits I presume? (normal)
What about cruel, merciless?
+Lowlife Alira cruel for cast speed, Oak again Merciless for Endurance charge
yeh, i guessed it actually. Need an actual detailed build tough... hmmm.
+Lowlife yeah, a detailed build was be super nice
Why cant i open the skill tree? i try to open it and it just keeps saying its and old version and its a blank skill tree, halp plz :(
could u link your equips with the gems in them for convenience
+acexwing1 This char was on the alpha so I cannot sorry
+ZiggyD Gaming Please just show how the gems link of helmet, gloves, boots.
+Kaoru Sugimura Im actually so lazy I will try ziggy's build first. Then we'll see what works, but I think I'll try out new attacks
Why cant I click the build URL ? says wrong version etc etc
+Benjamin Small it only lowers you to 5% so it's still easy to maintain.
ziggy, you're saying, this build is beginnerfriendly. my problem is, i am pretty new to POE. an item/bandits/defensive skillgem setup in a thread would be really nice, since i don't know all the gems. its kinda hard to figure out, what items and gem setups i should get. i dont even know what weapon would be the best for this setup. for me as a beginner, this youtube video dosen't help me that much:(
+arno nym I explained all of those things in the video though :(
As for weapons high lightning+spell damage & cast speed.
+arno nym i agree 100% !
Enjoying the build overall. Question: in your first video you recommended Spark + Orb of Storms, but in this one you recommend Storm Call + Orb of Storms. Why the change?
Spark for leveling Storm Call for endgame.
why not grab the ice/light mana regen node. It would seem a very valuable 3 point damage cluster for a MOM build.
Oh sorry that is indeed in the build I just forgot to route it! It's great for this build if going cold or lightning.
+ZiggyD Gaming What are the best cold dmg spells atm? Do you think Frost Bomb will serve a good purpose?

I'm actually looking for a flameblast build and I hear you mention you could use that for this build so I may try it!
+moon Charm +ZiggyD Gaming
Wouldn't you need a lot more mana for the Mind Over Matter combo to be most effective? Your free mana is just good for 1600 dmg, and then MoM is useless.
+ccax74 fast regen (tree and ascendant), constant leech(warlords mark etc), and 1 emergency mana pot. i see no problems.
Tell me if my math is wrong but according to my Calculations Iron Will shoud be superior to Controlled destruction with the strength from the skill tree alone.
iron will is increased % CD is more%
I'm thinking of trying this build, what wand/scepter would you recommend using? Could you link us your equipped items with the gems setup, I'm really curious.
Have a nice day ZiggyD! :D
+Worried T-Rex wand or scepter with spell cast, lightning damage, spell damage, elemental damage ..
Stopped with plating thuis build because there is no gem setup, and whitout it's imposible. Thnx Ziggy.
+ZiggyD Gaming pls note me all gems you are using in this video. thanx!
Dude.
I just have a question here - how the Conc. Effect and Controlled Destruction work with each other ???
looks nice - will test it out in 2.2.2
What does he say @9:22 "It's also a great idea to run a ______ storm call setup". Since I am new I don't have the full vocabulary of this game down yet, and lack a good understanding of the game still.
vaal storm call
+Dean Johnson Thanks!
Why not use Eldritch Battery for added survivability? How would EB interact with Sanctuary of Thought?
Nice Guide , can u please tell me the levels of the skills u use . and the ideal weapons to equip for a templer is a sword and a shield right?
Hey Ziggy! Awsome content as always##
i was thinking about using lightning tendrils as a main spell in conjunction with orb of storms. ithink that by reahing higher lvls illhave no prob with close range casting, got anythoughts on that? i didnt see it mentioned in your alternatve skills :D
i think a similar set up could work with flame surge and a fire trap set up, instead of orb of storms. im not sure though wether fire trap could proc eo as often though.
lol im so hyped for this expansion, ive gone though 1000 builds in my head already
i got confused dureing the gear and skill gems is there a forum or something for this build?
whats the cwdt setup level of gems? also.. what to link with clarity and arctic armour if herald and orb are in curse setup?
Be aware that in this build, you already have OOS - Herald of Thunder - Curse on Hit - Warlords Mark, so another Curse (like Enfeeble) on CWDT won't work.
what do you use to keep up your charges?> what gem setup?
I was thinking about doing this kind of a build with Righteous Fire. (20% extra aoe from gloves! RF only needs 4L!) Just can't decide between going Hierophant or Chieftain.
Hey Ziggy! Thanks for another awesome guide. i just have a noob question about Ascendancy classes. Why did you choose the Hierophant over the Inquisitor here?
anyone else having an issue with the passive tree link?
Ziggy, you haven't even mention Elemental Focus support gem, which also gives More multiplier in return of not applying elemental ailments which is fine in my opinion. Any thoughts of this gem? Or maybe you'll even make a quick video about how good or bad it is?
Adding to the multiple requests that this build be written/posted somewhere...
@ZiggyD Gaming plz make a Daresso inpired build! Slash your way through Wraeclast as Daresso!
Nice guide, thanks for sharing ;)
how to deal with ele resist mobs? like the labyrinth ones?
Ziggy can we replace fire golem with new Stone golem
ziggy please show a few examples of linked gems for this build of u`res
You mention using Warlord's Mark several times. Are you manually casting this or doing something like linking it with Curse on Hit?
+bloooski curse on hit linked to herald of thunder and orb of storms
Hi, Ziggy,
I've been playing POE for quite a while now.
Is their a guide for this? that goes over gear and stuff a little more in depth than just a quick video?
How viable is this for like end game?
Cheers mate .. Could you please suggest some uniques that will enable this build to work late game? I've followed your guide skilltree wise, tho the uniques you mention kind of fall of late game .. any suggestions?
A question about MOM. Let's say you take a 1k hit, so 400 should go to your mana. What happens if you only have 300 mana? It should bring you to 0, but where does another 100 apply? Will it go to your hp cos you have 0 mana left or will it be mitigated anyway making MOM a flat dmg reduction regardless of your mana pool?
yeah any excess your mana cannot absorb will go back to your life.
ZiggyD can you update the loot filter for the"Ascendancy"?
Hello, I noticed you mentioned what you were wearing on Gloves and helmet but not on anything else
What called my attention were the boots, which contained 3 red crystals. would you mind sharing your gem setup?
I'm having a hard time figuring how to optimize the gems outside of gloves and helmet :/
two quick questions; what would be better storm call or vortex? would it be a good idea to take some of the aura nodes and use more auras?
When would you change from your leveling build? When you reach endgame or before? If before around when will it be best/possible?
+Ozzid Gaming whenever you like really but around 40-60
+zomfgroflmao1337 Elemental overload is easier to keep up than it seems. Give it a shot
Hi +ZiggyD Gaming ! I was wondering what links would be good for lightning tendrils.
+NeeguHertz Good question
What is a good 5 link setup for Orb of Storms focused on damage? I have no idea what to put in my chest piece. So my thought was an Orb of Storms 5L would help kill bosses even faster. Then get another curse with Cast on Hit instead and grab Whispers of Doom.
sir .. can i know you first skill (q skill) that lightning ??
can help a lot sir
great, Ziggy just rose the price on Geofris Crest...again.
This build has been fun. But, there were 2 things I think could have added. But other than that, video was amazing ^_^
First, is just pictures of the Gems and Skills which you could use.
Thanks.
what is the name of the spell you use in 1
Hey Ziggy, keen to try this build for the start of 2.2 mate, but the link to the passive tree in the description is broken. It says it's an outdated tree and therefor won't load the nodes.
What about the bandits quests? I guess ill go:
Normal: Oak
Cruel: Alira
Merciless: Oak (?)
What are your opinions?
I'm wondering if the Firestorm and Flame Totem caster build is better than this Spark and Orb of Storms
Hey Ziggy, as always great guide, extremely clear and well detailed. But I'm fairly concern about Elemental Overload being viable without building crit I'm about to swap Firestorm with Storm Call (was waiting to get Less Duration first) and my crit chance is just around 7%.
+Awka Liwen I have 100% uptime with just 6.7%
Same question, has this build been written anywhere?
You say you link orb of storms with herald of thunder - What's the point of that? It's not a support gem?
+Jens Bengtsson It's not that it's linked to HoT, it's that it's linked to Curse on hit and a Curse as well. Just having them in the 4 link together means that both Orb of Storms and Herald of Thunder will curse on hit.
+ZiggyD Gaming I dont see HoT in ur skillbar but it seems to be activated. Aa I am new, how is this worting? For me, I have HoT and Orb of Storm in my Skillbar and must have HoT activated (that circle animation). Help would be really nice mate
*****
You can activate skills and then swap the skillbar to something else and it'll stay activated!
What about the bandits?
+Colin Bridgman I think the best ones are: Passive point, Cast speed (Alina) and Endurance charge (Oak)
Hi, thank you for the fun video and build :) , I used it for my character and have some questions:
You said that we should be able to get mind over matter keystone in hierophant class in cruel by the time we select mind over matter passive skill.
Do you have advice on a build to go with for a beginner like myself that will end on a similar path?
nice guide ziggy. ive been looking for a good tanky templar build to play with my gf when she builds a new pc.
i want ask what gems to use?
Is it possible to build a low life hiro with the Sanctuary of Thought passive?
Nice guide... Can i use flame surge with this build?
