Caution: Make certain you are not trying to troubleshoot hatch operation, with the doors locked. You must have "unlock enable" BCM logic present. This could be easily overlooked if you have "manually" unlatched the hatch.

Thanks heaps mate! I followed your instructions and could fix my hatch. Amazing tutorial.
Thank you Sir. Glad it helped. Cheers 👍
Nice one Ian
Cheers Joe. You got any videos in the works?
My SX4 has 4 conductors not 2. 2 each of the same colour.I did the screw driver across all four pins and it worked. Can a 2 pin switch be adapted to work on the 4 conductor socket?
Good analysis to prove the failure. Love that pointer. Cheers dave
We spare no expense on this channel Dave. Cheers Pal
Thankyou so much
Thanks for watching 👍
Thank you so much! Do you (or anyone here) happen to know the part number for vehicles with the keyless entry?
Thanks for the SX4 videos!! With this back hatch issue, did you hear anything trying to engage? When I press the button, I hear something, but there is no physical action. I'm wondering if that might indicate it is the actuator not engaging vs the button? I haven't taken off the back panel yet... I wanted to see if you heard a noise... thank you for this video.
Hello...in my case...silence. You are very likely on the right track. If the switch and wiring are fit when you depress the switch (with a functional and correct key FOB in proximity) in addition to the actuator drive you can hear a relay within the BCM click (under dash/footwell LHS if I recall). You may have a partial seizure of the linkage between Act. & latch assy. May just require lubrication if yer lucky. Good luck and thx for watching...Ian
Hi i have problem with central locking on sx4
When i press lock/ unlock button light flashes but it does not lock / unlocks the doors or hatch. Driver doors central locking button is not working as well.and hatch is locked when i press the keyless entey button on the door or hatch just lights flashes but locks doesn’t work i have to manually lock unlock the doors. I have checked door lock fuse under dash no problem with it.Please can you help with that thanks.
How did u remove the inner panel.without breakin the mounting tabs
You can use a panel fork on the plastic pins if required. Normally it’s not an issue. Don’t do it in cold conditions. 🍻
Question: how do you open the hatch door in the lock is buggered? The key won’t open it...!!!
This may help you

Today I noticed that after opening the trunk on the SX4 it would not close. Should I start the troubleshooting with this video or is it something else I should be looking at?
What did you end up doing? The electronics on mine appear to be working, but the hatch won’t close.
My hatch won't close boys. What do we do
It won't electronically lock I think and the doors open indicator is staying on
Please help!. My trunk does not open when pressing the release button/switch. I removed the switch and the actuator and connected them both directly to a 12v battery. Both worked. However, when I reinstalled them back to the trunk, they will not. I checked the voltage coming at the switch with a multimeter and verified 14 volts are coming at it when the button is pressed. However, no voltage is detected at the actuator, but as I said, the actuator works fine when tested separately. So, I am suspecting the issue is with the relay which according to the diagram, is inside the junction box. My problem is that neither the user manual nor the diagrams show its exact location. Maybe I don't understand the diagrams. My car is a Suzuki SX4 2008 sport sedan with keyless entry.
Give me a couple of days…I will consult the diagrams and Get back to you.
So you have the manual/wiring diagram?
Hi I'm having the same problem with my sx4 2009, but the difference is that there is absolutely no power on the wire leading to the back therefore the trunk doesn't open the license plate light is not working as well. Please i need a help to fix that up thank you
Hello sir... 2 questions. When you say there is no power leading to the back which wire are you referring to? Do you hear a click at the body control module (LH footwell) when you depress the hatch switch? Also have you manually opened the hatch for access purposes?
@@TheGibby3340 when I push the switch botton nothing happens, so i removed the trunk panel, i tested the actuator the same way you did in the video using a screw driver nothing happened, then i used a multimeter to check the power supply and i realized there is no power to operate the actuator since there is an electric motor in there, and the 2 license plate bulbs are blown. I suspect an electrical overload, the weird thing is there is no burned fuse
Herman Nino Tchouka Mba Possible...Did you inspect the wiring for damage at the roof line to hatch transition? The video details this @ 11:19...
Hello mate
Can the boot latch issue cause the other doors to stop functioning as well?
When i unlock the car the car receives the signal and the lights blink however the door have to be opened manually and the boot doesn’t open at all,
Can you advise what’s wrong with it?
Are you sure “all” doors are remaining locked?
@@TheGibby3340 yes do you know what can cause this?
Can you lock and unlock all doors from the drivers door switch?
I just replaced the actuator, and the hatch still won't open. What should I replace next?
The intention of the video is to provide you with the information necessary to troubleshoot it yourself. If you have watched the video and thought it through, I am sure resolution is well within your grasp. Thx for watching. 🍀🍻
@TheGibby3340 so I watched your video a few times through, so changing out the button was easy, realizing it didn't fix the problem was a kink. Today in the mail I will get a latch to replace, and that should fix it. We will see. Thanks for posting this, the dealership I went to to see if they could fix it wanted $175/hr just to figure out what was wrong, not even to repair it at that point.
@jensaulnier I am happy to help those who help themselves. If you’re still struggling gimme a shout. 🍀🍻
Hey man I'm having the opposite problem and the mechansm won't lock, and the door open indicator is staying on. My dad just died last month and i am lost and i dont know what to do. Please help❤
