- No Scan tool required! I suppose the dual display format is provided in the event of Instrument Panel failure. Correction Note: the BCM only controls "Rear" wiper operation. Front wiper are stand alone circuitry. Note 2: At 4:15 I state that the car is not equipped with a keyless start module. This is incorrect, as I was confusing "remote" start with keyless start. Meaning I really can not rationalize the presence of the U1144 code. Sorry for the balls up!

Thank you so much, the instructions for going into service mode on those vehicles are around in the Internet, but it's a whole different thing to see what they actually meant with the wording. I had no idea that the lights knob was used for putting the car in service mode. I thought the interior light above the middle mirror had to be pressed... xD

Hi sir, thanks so much for your video from which I learnt that my 2010 Suzuki SX4’s slow starting issue (on turning-on ignition, the immobilizer sign will only light up after a minute or two to indicate car is ready to crank start) can be traced to Code U0100 - Receiving error of BCM from ECM for specified time continuously (whatever that means) - that I tried several times to erase but could not, and I will appreciate knowing if there is a DIY way to resolve the issue without going to the workshop.
Hello i have the same model a 2007 suzuki sx4 just recently had obd2 sensor done and wiring for my emissions test to pass a week later my car was driving fine till it stalled on me tends to turn off while the rps drop so i have to give it gas to keep it on the only sensor i have that is bad is a knock sensore but does that have anything to do with my car stalling my battery signal came in wen it stalled but the battery is about 1yr old
Thanks for this video my friend. Just got an 09 sx4 the acceleration seems to rev when I take my foot off gas but tachometer doesn’t show its revving when it does that. Is this normal?

Hi. On the drivers door jamb there is a micro switch covered in a rubber jacket. Mounted 1/2 way up the middle pillar. It is actuated by a small rubber bumper on the door, when the door is closed. Tricky to recognize. Take a look, you’ll find it. 🍻
Hi, very nice video! I was wondering if is there any way to get ECM's DTCs without scan tool? I would be very grateful if someone could give me more information about it. I have an SX4 2009, and I'm having some issues when I go on aceleration.

The Sedici wasn’t available in the Canadian market, but I suspect the architecture will be the same. Consider checking for spark, injector operation & fuel pressure. Good luck 🍀🍻
It worked, thank you! But I got the code U0100, lost communication with ECU. I guess that does mean the ECU's bad but is it (safely) openable as expensive to replace? My fault was initially intermittent so I wonder if it's a dry joint/connection
@Andy Hind while anything is possible I wouldn’t make those assumptions. Realize that checking your codes in this matter will ONLY provides codes captured via the BCM (limited capacity) and May or may not be relevant to your no start condition. Again consider the basics. Read codes via a scan tool is a good starting point. Check basics, Fuel,Air, Compression,Timing, Oversight (ECM active) Rotation (top & bottom end) and Spark. (Do easiest first) This cannot be overstated. There are many videos on the channel that can expand upon most of these checks 🍀

Why Suzuki SX4's built-in head unit is inscribed with System Check
Loss of 12V supply can cause this, resulting in loss of memory presets. Simply turning the system on (after a battery disconnect for example) usually remedies the issue.
Hey man just came across your video.
There's a 2007 SX4 awd for sale that has 140k miles on it. Own does state that it has issues. For example, oil pressure sensor, air bag, and another sensor. He also states that he got a new odb2 sensor and wiring done, not sure what that means. Should I consider wasting time trying to get this vehicle? Any common/major issues with these cars?

Airbag system failure are commonplace. Usually the passenger seat occupant classification sensing mat. I would be make certain it not actually suffering from low oil pressure…Catalytic converter(S) can also be rendered inoperable at this point. (P0420). Cheers
Hi, again wanna say thanks for your videos been a great help. I was curious about this bcm code retrieval. Is this for all sx4's? Or is it for specific models? Like i stated on another video comment i have an 07 gas mt. Ive tried this routine multiple times an nothing. No codes on the odom or secruity light flashes. And if it is supposed to then what does it mean if it dont? The bcm is bad?
As far as I know, it is not model specific. I will check the schematics but I think the BCM transmits fault data via the CAN bus to the instrument cluster. I am assuming you are still trying to come to grips with your no start condition?

@@camscott7531 Did you get a chance to check the power & grounds @ the ECM & DLC? You might want to consider isolating (unplugging) each module on the CAN bus one at a time. It possible a module or bus fault on the H or L line is dragging the system down. Isolation of the faulted module may restore CAN bus communication restoring operation of your scan tool. Absence of that module on the bus will give you direction. Depending on the level of sophistication of your scan tool.
@@TheGibby3340 ive tried at ecm. I dont have a back feed meter set up. An getting unreliable readings with push pin technique. At the dlc im getting one pin at 12v rest are lower. Are they not supposed to be all 12v excepting the grounds?
@@camscott7531 only pin 16 will be steady 12v. 4&5 ground Others are can H&L and K line. You really need a scope to make sense of them. Did you follow the logic of my last comment?
I have a 2010 sx4 sedan.
2 months ago all of a sudden the horn started going off on its own(got some looks in traffic 😂)
So I unhooked it.
Last month I get an engine light on.
I put in my code reader and it comes up with P062F code.
Anyone knows where do i go next?
Hello the P062F codes appears to be a (ECM/PCM) internal control module EEPROM error. Someone recoding/remapping previously? Perhaps just an internal random failure... The horn sounds when a ground is applied at the BCM, energizing the horn relay applying power to the horn assembly. You likely have a stray ground inside the steering wheel, simply a wire adrift touching ground or the clock spring (contact coil cable assembly) is shorted internally (more likely)...Just a few possibilities. I've done this on my 2012 sx4 it reads 0000 now and it did have codes I replaced the airbag and clockspring also the seatbelt and my airbag light is still on. I also added the passenger seat eliminator I'm stumped with this problem can someone help me
As stated in the video…in car fault code (DTC) facility is limited. Think your best course of action is a scan tool cable of reading SRS (secondary restraint) airbag codes. Not all, especially lower priced tools are capable of this. As you likely know…Paying to have the code extracted may make monetary sense. Guessing (even educated ones) gets expensive and frustrating. Your Check engine light is usually synonymous with “P” codes (Power train) this video is strictly about pulling BCM codes which are B & U...Body & Network. A scan tool will be required to pull the code which is bringing on the check engine light. A cheap $20 OBD 2 tool or App will suffice. Cheers 👍

Siegfried Gebauer Thanks for watching. Neither of my SX4’s are equipped with alarms so I can’t speak to that issue. I am sorry but I am not sure I understand your 2nd Question? The codes that I extracted with the procedure detailed in the video were induced by various demonstrations of other troubleshooting. Cheers

@@glennfurey6849 B1157 airbag deployment. B1150 Airbag communication circuit malfunction. U1144 loss of communication with keyless start control module. Steering related faults generally start with a “C” (chassis systems). Multiple loss of comm faults are very often triggered by low battery voltage scenarios…Good luck 👍
