I've never protected any electrical components when cleaning a car with a pressure washer either, just don't use a very pointed jet and stay far enough away not to cause damage. I have a friend who specifically power washes his engine bay with the car running. He does this so that if the car stops running due to any electrical components being damaged he will know right away where the damaged component is. Since he told me this I've done the same with my cars and with or without this method have never had an issue.
How did u not flood the engine jet washing it like that or is that a diesel engine cause I would never jet wash my sx4 turbos engine like that like and as someone said did ya protect the electrical work
Being curved, it's the strangest prop I've seen in 55yrs of driving, but it works OK. The plastic retainer on my 08 broke almost immediately, and I Never bothered to replace it.+

Engine's should never be washed, the dust over oil leaks Protects And removing lubrication from seals will give more future problems. Something I learned at the University as sechanical engineer

+quiambaomc Funny but I just had to fix mine! I have ordered the white plastic piece that holds the rod to the body. And had to straighten the rod itself. I have checked prices and the plastic piece is around 5$ and 45$ for a new rod from the dealer. Just get a new original one.
volvosweden there's no Suzuki dealer here in Vancouver that sells support rod for my 2010 sx4 do you one that ships here? can you share the website. please and thanks.

Is that advisable? don't I need to cover the electric stuff in the car before washing? need to know the risks before I go ahead and try this myself

So if an oil leak happens what is the right thing to do? I’ve used the gunk spray (just a small amount) with just a spray bottle of water and whipped it clean all around . Let it dry out for about 6 hours but when driven after that it was a little Smokey , would this be from the bottom or some that is burning off of that was left behind?

it's a engine hook, so you can pull it off easier with a hoist

Can you show me how your Hood prop Rod is attached? I just bought me a 2007 SX4 and it was missing so I am replacing the parts for the hood prop.

To avoid problems, I would recommend covering electrical components, do not use pressure washer and run the engine while rinsing.

i did this and when I turned it up I had a miss fire. To much water on some electric components. next time ill let the car idle cor 24 hours
