Honestly you deserve so much recognition. Not only is this recipe simple but it looks so mouthwatering. It would’ve been easy to just make a quick video recipe but you made it so much more with your heart and humor. I can’t wait to make this!

I use to make taco pies for my husband who has been gone for over 15 yrs. I use to make them many years before he died…mine was refried beans and ground beef cooked with taco seasoning packet and topped with cheddar cheese . This was put between 2 pie crust and baked

When I first made this recipe, I got it from the "25 ground beef recipes" on your Well Done site. I made a pie and cut it into "right size" slices, vacuum sealed them and into the freezer. You don't recommend this for anyone on a diet but I am a true believer in portion control. In April of 2018, I had bariatric surgery and so far I have lost 208 pounds, with 21 pounds to go. Yours and Matthew's "Heavenly Taco Pie" remains a staple in my freezer. When I am running low, of course, I make more. Matter of fact, the reason that I am leaving a comment is because I am enjoying a slice of "Heaven" right now for my lunch. I decided after all this time to leave a comment. I hadn't seen this site before and opted to leave my comment on this one. You're right, btw, Matthew would be proud of your re-creation of his pie. Since my surgery, and my stomach is the size of a walnut, I'm very choosy with what I am going to fill the space with at meal times. I'm using the pie to toast you and Matthew's memory. With his recipes, and memories, he will always be with you. Peace.
