@@TanDiego thank you for this video, as always very helpful. Question: Insignia NS-BC115SS9 is not meant for a built-in cooler (not mean for undermount) it is a free-standing cooler, is it still working for you?
@@jxstudiollc I’d also love to know if it’s still working well, but Diego mentioned he wanted it free standing in case it needed swapped out (and would be good in case repairs were needed). Smart thinking! I was about to create a more permanent fixture but am now rethinking the practicality of that.
@@hollyfleischer2984 free standing cooler should work, but better to get undermount cooler which will have an heat exhaust in the front, and no heating issues for a little extra $$.
Wasn’t sure I would be able to find a video that would help me execute my vision in the space I have. After finding this it was perfect! A quick trip to Lowes and an hour later I have transformed my space. Thanks for the help!
Whoever is going to attempt this, keep in mind the OP did not use the correct fridge. You will need get a 'built-in' type fridge. What this means is that the fridge will have a front vent at the bottom or top so that it will not overheat. If you choose to use a fridge like in this video, you will need to give lots of opening around the fridge for proper ventilation or you run the risk of the fridge overheating and/or fire...
hence the title "built-in," the fridge I chose works for me and my space, it has plenty of room for hot air... if any to escape. I can easily swap in a built-in fridge but thanks for contributing.
This is exactly what the plan I had in my mind on how I want to do my project. Came on RUclips to see other people's ideas on how other people do it. Looks like that's the best method. I like how you used a level to find where to put your support piece of wood. I 1as thing of just using my laser level but I think the ruler level will be easier and sufficient thanks!
What you could do to make the circular saw cut straight is screw a straight scrap piece to the part of the cut youre not going to use. Then you just saw with the circular saw flush against that piece all the way down.

Wait!!! But how did you install the trims that fill in the super small slits between the cabinet and fridge??? Just wood glue? 😭🙏 please help! Thank you
Very Cool Tan!!! Quick question. You said you did not secure it so I'm guessing no issues with movement of the fridge when opening/closing door. Did you have any issues with the fridge overheating since the back is closed? Thanks and I loved "if I can imagine it I can do it"
@@Nicky68Y Thank you very much! No issues at all, it is still running fine, I didn’t close the gaps around the fridge so air can still come out and there’s quite a bit of room between the wall and the back of the fridge.
I’m a bit late to the party, but are you sure that fridge is meant to be countersunk like that? Most affordable mini fridges are standalone. You need a front venting fridge for this.
yes I put in the description *** The standing fridge I used works for my space and it is not enclosed and it has plenty of room for hot air to escape, it is however recommended to use an actual built-in fridge with a vent from the front if you are going to enclosed the fridge. ***
Do you have a floating floor? I am about to install something similar but I have seen videos that say if you have a floating floor you need to cut it to the cabinet size.
Great idea but that doesn’t look like a “built-in” ready fridge. Looks like a “stand alone”fridge which means it does not have adequate ventilation therefor cutting its life short and keeping the fridge from peak performance.
@@TanDiego There’s only so much air the fridge can draw from the area behind it making the fridge work harder and use more energy to keep a steady temperature. It may still be working but I can assure you it’s drawing more energy than it should, but to each their own right?🤷🏻♂️
Hey, Tan. Trying to do a similar project and want that exact mini fridge. Do you know the brand and any other info? Thanks!
Joe Bobillo hey Joe, it’s the Insignia NS-BC115SS9 115 can beverage cooler, I see it at best buy for $229.

300$ bucks for labor to install it. Handyman musta been hurting for work
That’s really nice!

Is your wine dry getting good ventilation. I would have used a bottom vent fridge.
Yes. There’s tons of room behind it. Plus there’s gaps on all sides for air to come out, it doesn’t get hot
You are amazing!
The only thing I would’ve added is a pop up extension for charging devices
I am such a fan

Great job! How did you keep the trim pieces in place?
Thank you, I nailed little blocks to the adjacent surfaces as backings then nailed the moldings in front of them
Really nice.

Good
if this fridge is not meant for in countertop is there any heating issues with the exit ventilation?
It is still running today, I did not seal it like you would with a built in fridge

Yes I do, I just set it right on top of the floor and it has been fine.
Nice job!!! What wood did you use for the the trim pieces?
Thank you. They are just white cabinet trim pieces around the cabinet section from Lowe’s
Hi how did you put the trim pieces?
You can glue them or nail gun them in. I just attached them on whichever surface they can rest on
If you have an ugly standard size mini fridge, would it fit under there rather than beside it?
Sunshine & Raindrops it depends on how wide your space and which cabinet you choose, you can use trim pieces to fill in the gaps
Did you add the cabinet trims via sillicon adhesive, or is it attached in another way? Thanks!
C L I used small blocks to have them rest against and small nails and caulking to hold them in place

I can just slide in a “built-in” fridge, I didn’t want to pay $1k. Plus there’s a ton of space back there, still working 😏
