Very nice review and thanks for posting this. I'm a new Defender owner myself and so far no issues, but there has most likely been a lot of software updates over the last 8-9 months. Love the G Wagon that's in this video as well. Good luck with your Defender and hope the issues can be sorted out.

P400 better choice in mgg power and more standard options. Stereo is even bad in Range Rover product line up. My p400 2023 RR Sport 3rd time at the dealership in 14 months of period.

I have a 2023 110, love it. Agreed with never going back to a lower seating car. Drove my kids Mazda CX5 and other kids Jeep Wrangler and I hated how low I sit with CX5. Although the wrangler is a Sahara, the seats are still rather harsh. The boy had an entry line wrangler prior to Sahara and the it’s harsh with those seats. Also, had a couple episodes of car going into neutral initially when I got it. I’ve had the car for 2 years now and somehow it fixes itself? Question: did you actually get into any collision because of the delay with the emergency braking system?

Thank you for your honest and straightforward without filler ownership experience! Reliably issues is the only reason why Im hesitant to buy a Defender and ai absolutely love the design, its elegant, sleek and unique. I hope one date they come out with a reliable Defender, especially with their prices.

Quality issues are expected with JLR, but u got me off guard about the quality of meridian sound systems... From experience, maybe because of personal taste, the best sound system I've experienced on a car was in a 2014 evoque, with the 800w meridian. It was mind blowing to me. Recently I experienced the B&W system on the XC90, and it didnt wow me as much. Sure, the sound was crisp and clear, but i missed being as envolved by the sound as I felt in the evoque, mailny because of the less present bass. Granted I didnt experience many sound systems and I know the B&W in volvos is one or the best regarded sound systems out there, but i still keep JLR's meridian up top for my preference. Maybe it is just that the 400w version is not as well executed as the 800w and above systems? Curious...

If you have an Android phone you may have to turn off anything that may alter the sounds from the sound settings.

Seems to me that no matter what vehicle or manufacturer you obtain a vehicle from since 2018 on that there are complaints. The irony is that while Range Rover/Land Rover historically has problems most domestic AND import vehicles are experiencing multiple recalls. Having driven the new go 550 AND a used 2024 Defender S, both of which have owner complaints, I found the Defender preferable overall. The reality is ALL cars/trucks/suv’s have issues and are cost prohibitive whether by purchase or maintenance cost. At least Range Rover/Land Rover doesn’t threaten their customers with law suits when they complain publicly like Toyota does… 🤷🏽‍♂️

Have a 2021 x5 and haven’t had a single issue. No rattles, music issues, Bluetooth, fluids, oil, etc. and it averages closer to 20mpg. Love defender design but can’t imagine dealing with all that.

The new 2025 will actually have the touch screen MBUX and also the keyless entry. I believe it's even a smoother ride even for the G63. G500 will be available as a V6 then the G580 as the all electric.

Coming from the hi-fi world, Meridian was the pioneer of digital audio (think CD era, in late 1980s) and quite iconic. Of course, they become more known for their licensed technology - MQA and MLP (for DVD audio). It's pretty sad they licensed their name to such a subpar experience.

oh my god what a whiner. i have a 22 defender x and had it 3 years. first i would never rely on any driver replacement such as emergency braking or adaptive cruise control. i control my car so that shit is disabled from the start. you got screwed by your dealer. first service according to the mfgr is 21,500 miles OR 2 years. i had my first service, including and oil change and it was $800 not $2k. then there is the dumbass that would not change his oil till 21,500 miles. i change mine, myself, every 5k. never had an issue worth mentioning. after owning 7 audis and 3 mercedes benz the defender is the finest car i have ever owned.

Funny-they put a mouse motor in it and it gets 12 mpg? I have a 2015 Denali with 4WD and a massive V8, 6.2-which gets 18-20 mpg.

Great review, I was just wondering how come your rear indicators light up the whole side.like the brake lights and all light up except for the actual yellow indicators. Is that a mod you did?

Use pure synthetic oil and change it every 5k miles. 20k oil is not a thing. I get mine changed at Mavis for $145 including oil filter. Oil people know oil and engines. Trust them
