This... It hits ME very hard. I also was sexually assaulted here in Arizona years back by a doctor named Dr Finkle ..... I relate to everything you say, there wasn't enough hot water on this Earth To Make me feel clean for years. I too blamed myself.... It was one of the most surreal things I've lived through and then I will continue to live through. There was no settlement money. He's in prison and I can only hope one day he goes to hell. Because the things he stole from me, I can never get back. I'm so sorry, I'm sending you all the love I have, and hugs. It's hard, and it changes us as people......💔💔💔

Thank you for sharing your experience. Sadly this reminded me of two similar experiences I had, the first with a paediatrician when I was a child and the second with a gynaecologist I saw in my 20s. Years after the incident with the gyno I learned that he was being sued by six women. This was validating because when I asked my then family doctor to refer me to someone else she dismissed my concerns and actually became defensive and protective over him. Her reaction at the time made me question if i was maybe overreacting... but now I know that I wasn't. This happened here in Toronto Canada.

Thank you so much for sharing, Jacy. I’ve been going through my own health struggles over the last couple years and I’ve felt dismissed and demeaned as well. But I can’t imagine going through something like that. We’re supposed to just blindly trust healthcare professionals with such vulnerable parts of ourselves and it’s terrible that some sick weirdos can come along and mess up or even end our lives because they choose to abuse their power. It is terrible but I’m glad that you’re ok, or at least trying to be ok. That’s all we can really do is TRY to be ok.

I was violently raped 35 years ago by a stranger. I didn't go to the police because of the guilt and shame like you spoke of. It took 30 years for me to unpack the trauma when I finally admitted that I needed professional help to process what had happened to me. Then I wrote a book and included it in my story. It was so hard to write, so I understand how much courage it took for you to make this video. It was the most cathardic way for me to heal. I only sold a handful of copies, so there was no money that was made from telling the truth out loud, but what comes from telling the truth can be so much more important than money. I hope that when you are ready, you will take that money and buy everything you could ever dream of wanting for yourself and those you love. Don't spend one second feeling any guilt or shame about it. Spend every penny you want, and do it for the millions of people who go through experiences like this, but are never vendicated. Most importantly, use it to make sure that you get the best mental health care possible. The healthcare system in this country sucks, so you deserve to have USC footing the bill for the care that you need in order to heal. It will be a continued process to continue healing, and therapy is damned hard work. Keep moving forward, knowing you are loved and honored for your strength and bravery. You've got this!!!

I had the same surgery. An oopherectomy I think it’s called. Ovary, tube and a massive softball size cyst complete with hair, teeth and bones inside it!!! The doctors told me I would not experience any hormone issues since I had one healthy ovary, and would still be able to have kids if I wanted more. However, I since then experienced major depressive episodes and an anxious episodes along with numerous physical ones, including weight gain and losing all of my hair. So I don’t think it’s true when they say that losing an ovary doesn’t affect a woman’s hormone balance.

From time to time I research the life experiences of mixed race people. Being the older brother of six biracial siblings, I often wonder why they feel what they feel, and why they gravitate more towards the black experience as opposed to the white experience. As close as I am to their mother, I just don't really get why they embrace the black side of their reality and totally disregard their mom's side. In doing my research, I stumbled upon your RUclips channel about being mixed race. Being impressed by your gift of articulation, I decided to watch more of your content. In watching this particular video I couldn't help but listen to it in it's entirety. I found myself getting vey angry about the fact that you were violated during a time that should have been one of the greatest experiences in your adult life. I have very fond memories of my college experience but I see that it sucked for you obviously. You didn't get millions, but I'm sure that your settlement will eventually change the poison of your college experience to medicine for the future you. Great events will come to pass for you and countless other women. Thanks again for sharing your life with us and... Be Well🤙🏾
