- While Harvey Dent's legacy and the fallout from his demise were certainly important in 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises", we all know Gotham's fallen white knight never returned in the flesh. But what if old Harvey wasn’t so easily vanquished at the end of "The Dark Knight"? How would his survival affect the other characters and where would they end up? What if there was no Cult in Halloween the curse of Michael Myers?

What if the invisible man was in the monster squad as Dracula’s spy?
What if Brainiac and Supergirl was in Superman 3 with Yul Brynner as Brainiac?
What if Batman Triumphant was made where you have Scarecrow and Poison Ivy as the villains where Ivy is like Sil from the movie Species and a subplot that Selina is pregnant with Bruce’s child?
What if Spider-Man 6 is made where the Jackal cloned the dead villains and breaks the lizard of prison to make the Sinister Six?
What if Nick Wilde was the main character in Zootopia? And Zootopia kept its original, darker concept?
Two-Face surviving would only put Gotham stuck in a cycle of chaos. His coin flips for decisions would keep things in constant unpredictability, with no stability in sight.
Two-Face is one of the greatest Batman villains of all time. His origin, connection to Bruce and the way he operates makes for such an interesting, layered villain. It's a shame that he's not used that often in the movies.
I hope someday, in a live-action Batman movie, they genuinely utilise the character to his fullest potential and have him as a movie's main villain, preferably building up Harvey's character and downfall in the Matt Reeves Batman sequels.

What do you mean? He's used often enough. We already have 2 different live-action adaptations. There's only so many batman movies that have been made.

For a future Fanscription could you possibly do “What if X-Men First Class was a more accurate prequel?”
If you do it, have it be set in the late 80’s or early 90’s. Have Xavier and Magneto meet when they’re both 17. Have their first students and the first X-Men be Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Storm, Quicksilver, and maybe a few others. Have Xavier and Magento be the ones who built Cerebro. Ditch the whole thing with Mystique being Charles’ foster sister. No Wolverine cameo. Still use James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender for Xavier and Magneto but age them up with makeup so they look like older men, I know in the flashback in Last Stand it was Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as Xavier and Magneto, but just say it’s the story being imagined in a different way, similar to how each of the first three X-Men movies had a different person playing Kitty Pryde. Still use Tye Sheridan for Cyclops, Sophie Turner for Jean, Nicholas Hoult for Beast, Alexandra Shipp for Storm, Evan Peters for Quicksilver, etc. Also have Magento know QuickSilver is his son and have Quicksilver be killed by humans at the end of the movie, that can be what causes Magento to hate humanity and turn evil.
Yeah because Jennifer Lawrence was definitely a miscast as Mystique is over a thousand years old older than Wolverine in the comics and maybe Toad could make an appearance

Much like the Harley vid, I like seeing other villains brought into the Nolanverse we didn't see.
You know a lot of people keep praising Heath Ledger as the Joker but I don’t think Aaron Eckhart gets enough credit as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. Personally I liked his performance the best out of anyone in the Dark Night.
In my personal opinion.
The ending of The Dark Knight while almost perfect should have gone a slightly different way.
Keep everything mostly the same.
Two Face kidnaps Barbara and the kids. Invited Gordon to a face off (no pun)
And Batman shows up.
HOWEVER in an attempt to stabilise Harvey’s mentality and to sympathise with him.
Bruce should have taken off the mask and showed to all of them that he’s Batman.
Two Face: “Then why was it me who was the only one who lost everything?”
*Bruce takes off his cowl showing to everyone that he’s Batman*
“It wasn’t.”
“Bruce?..”
“Harvey… I know all too well how it feels to lose someone you loved. Please… Rachel wouldn’t want this.”
“You let her die…”
“Harvey I tried to save her.”
“But you didn’t… just like Jim… you both failed her.. and now I’m going to show you how it feels to lose someone you loved..”
“You’re the one pointing the gun Harvey…”
(And the scene proceeds as it did. Bruce puts the cowl back on before saying “I’m whatever Gotham needs me to be.”
That way if they really wanted they. Luke have brought back Two Face in the next film but it would be even more horrible because both Bruce and Jim were worried that he would reveal to Gotham who Batman was.
But I do really love this fanscription.

This was an amazing Fanscription and works so well with the Parallela of the Dark Knight. Coming full circle also including the Crime Bosses from the Batman Mythos

This had to be one of the best what if story you guys have made
Two Face is one of my favourite Batman villains. I love the deep psychological complexity of the character from the comics and how he represents the duality of identity between Bruce and Batman, plus Harvey's friendship with Bruce. Aaron Eckhart's performance as the character may have been short, but he certainly did a great job in the role and his downfall from Harvey to Two-Face, while indeed instead rushed and overshadowed by the Joker, still felt impactful. I hope that in a live-action Batman movie, they utilise the character to his fullest potential and have him as a film's main villain, preferably building up Harvey's character and downfall in the Matt Reeves Batman sequels.
I need a Batman Beyond Fanscription! You took so much from it with your Tim Burton Batman fanscriptions, show it some respect.
And/or a big project of what if Wish used the original script.
He would have sued the police department, and used the money for reconstructive surgery. Then lobbied for Wayne industry
Now do Dawn Of The Dark Night, and throw in Catwoman, Bane, and Barbara Gordon(Batgirl).
Honestly I like this one. Not as great as what if joker was in dark knight rises, but this also good, love how they put red hood into all of this
One idea I think could be is that The Dark Knight is split into two films (like Rob mentioned in his review of the film). Ending the first one where Harvey’s in the hospital.
Then have the sequel continue on from there with Two Face and Joker going to war with each other. Batman manages to stop them both in the end and possibly adopting a young Dick Grayson after his parents are killed during the chaos.
Similar to the comic issue of Batman: Dark Victory.
This version is way much better than the original dark knight rises

Unlikely. We saw Joker at the end of Batman 2022 laughing with Riddler, and he was nothing like Arthur

I know the joker doesn't have a big role in the movie but still i really would be very interested how that would have turned out. How would there Dynamc be and you could still tell the story how they met before the movie.
This fanfiction brilliantly shows the potential Two Face has as a villain as opposed to just being some pawn of the Joker like he was in the original movie

If we got this movie instead, and with the ending it has, it would been a perfect opportunity to have Bale’s Batman to be the Batman of the DCEU.

This fanscription episode was amazing to watch and see what if Two-face was in the Dark Knight Rises and adding red hood in the storyline as gordon's son is pretty awesome to see this character introduces besides the Titans tv show. Just great job once again from channel awesome team.

I loved the inclusion of the clip from BTAS. In my mind, Mark Hamill will always be the best Joker. I also like to think that Strange had a hand in insuring the truth of Dent's crimes got out, if he and Dent both died. Hugo Strange is smart enough to usually have a contingency plan.
Absolutely great Two Face and Gordon stuff, but Bruce is such an afterthought here, no arc for him as in the original.

The Tim Burton movie was crap with hardly any redeeming values (other than the magnificent makeup). Why would anyone wish for a sequel.

Well this was a *very* welcome surprise! I already loved your rewrite of Batman Forever, so this just further confirms you guys really know how to write a proper Two-Face story. I do still prefer when his motives are a little more complex than just revenge, but this was still really cool! I would've loved seeing him as the main villain in Rises.

I was always under the impression that the Dark Knight was setting up Two-Face to be the main villain for the sequel but i was pretty bummed out when he didn't appear in Dark Knight Rises and went with Bane instead, it would have been cool to have had Two-Face as a way to finish his story arc as i felt that killing him off was very abrupt. This was a very interesting what if and it did a really good job in showing us how the events would have played out if he had lived. Love to see a fanscript of Batman Beyond set after the Tim Burton movies, i think that would be very interesting

I don't like Two-Face killing Hugo Strange. I can understand maybe killing off Joker because of Heath Ledger's passing but not Hugo Strange.
They keep reusing the same Batman villains like Penguin and Catwoman in the movies. Batman has so many villains that need to be in a movie like Hugo Strange and Manbat.

I still to this day can not fathom at the end of the Dark Knight why they didn't just say, the Joker killed Harvey or Harvey died of his wounds, why did they need to come up with that idiotic Batman plot that leads to Dark Knight Rises where Gordon still has all the evidence and the letter on Harvey Dent that Bane uses
I had the same feeling ever since I watched the movie.
Well blaming joker for Harvey's death wouldn't make sense as he was elsewhere when Harvey died and I'm sure specialists can detect how long he's been dead for. Also it wasn't just over Harvey's death. They had to explain how 5 people in which 2 of them were cops were killed.
Now could they have pin that on the joker? That's the real question.
Gotham believed in Harvey more than the Batman. A face they can see and know personally while Batman was treated as a dark figure.
@@knightghost1782people know that Joker had multiple unamed associates who did his bidding while he was in jail. It wouldn't be too big a stretch to pin Harvey's actions on Joker.

I got an idea what if Kevin Conroy was the Batman of the 80s along with Christopher reeves
Personally, I would have used Harvey as the main villain of the Dark Knight Rises and mostly just kept the plot the same. Instead of Harvey dying in the climax of the previous film, just have him be holding Gordon’s family hostage and threaten Batman take the fall for his murders or he’ll kill them. Give him Bane’s role of taking over the city and trying to blow it up (and completely cut out Talia). Still have Bane but just be more obvious with the henchman role.
Bane would just be like his Batman and Robin Counterpart where he was just a mindless muscle for hire.
Or how about the early rumours that one where it was going to be Penguin and Riddler were they’re played by Philip Seymour Hoffman and Johnny Depp, second being based on Batman: Prey where Hugo Strange is the main villain or the Mad Hatter as Nolan was going to use and that’s why he never appeared in the 2004 cartoon
Why not have Bane be the front man, like in the movie, but instead of Talia using it to further her scheme, it would be Harvey who would be finically backing Bane( to rid Gotham of its filth once and for all, through Bane’s revolution

The art of Roland Daggett makes it seem like Willem Dafoe was the intended actor for him.
Nice concept, my only disagreements are being the shootings of Dr Strange and Joker.
Why? There's no sequel to be made in this hypothetical.

Incorporating aspects of The Long Halloween into this works: heck, I think Nolan took inspiration from that, as well as Batman Year One to an extent with the trilogy. I called the twist on Red Hood easily and making the story more grounded helps, Bane's overly complicated story kind of a sour note to end the trilogy on by comparison.
Almost was wondering if Two Face might've been redeemed somehow and James Jr. was the major threat long term, given how there is a storyline involving him as a villain and a psychotic one at that

I like the general premise that Harvey Dent survives to become a recurring/persistent villain. His stint in the Dark Knight was short-lived as the arc was cut so short.

“The Dark Knight” is one of the most popular and influential comic book movies ever made. Its legacy has only grown since it debuted to much fanfare in the summer of 2008. Deservingly so! The movie is pretty darn close to perfect in a lot of ways. However, there’s one thing about it that has always kind of bugged me.
The climax with Harvey Dent’s transformation into Two-Face works great as a part of the story Christopher Nolan and company were telling, but that character’s full turn seemed a touch rushed. Almost as if we got the finale of a third movie at the end of the second. Back then, plenty of fans wondered if Harvey was actually dead following that final sequence. We thought maybe he’d make a comeback in the next film. One person who also questioned Dent’s fate was the character’s actor, Aaron Eckhart.

Quick note right up top. I’m not going to be using the whole Bane/League of Shadows storyline from the third film. Where that seemed more like a continuation of “Batman Begins” with elements from the first sequel, my story is going to be more of an extension of “The Dark Knight” while trying to branch off in some unique directions. I just realized that the reason why Bruce and Gordon didn’t lower their heads when everyone else did at the Harvey Dent Day event was because they both knew that Dent didn’t deserve their head bows because they knew what kind of person Dent really was.

I love this. I kinda wish they would save Two-Face for a third movie for a proper story rather than just giving him a little screen time.
I'm still trying to figure out what the title should be. I don't think The Dark Knight Rises title would fit this Two-Face Batman story. Anybody got an idea for a proper title? Comment below please, I'd love to hear your ideas

I would’ve liked at least some of the events of Rises acknowledged/included in this (or at least put Catwoman in there - Bane would probably be one villain too many, but Catwoman would fit as a side player), but otherwise this is a pretty good “What If…” alternative follow-up to Dark Knight.
Interestingly enough, rumored or otherwise, one of the initial drafts of what became the third movie was allegedly based on the Batman story “Prey;” that story, coincidentally enough, also featured Hugo Strange in a primary role.
Idea: Dark Knight Trilogy but it’s set in the 66 series
