Another pretty set for a battle mage build is the Carian knight armor set with the spell blade pointed hat. I pair it with a fully upgraded Wing of Astel and Carian Royal Scepter.
Rogier's Set is quite good, aside from design, Spellblade set increases Glintstone sorceries.

Just the helmet is needed for the passive. The rest you better get the most armor possible, whilst still being in the medium armor range.
Yeah, this is mostly just for looks or roleplay. When i do a mage build i use medium heavy armor and the appropriate headwear.
If I wanted a set for more of a battlemage type that used heavy armor, where would I go to try and get it or what pieces would I be best off equipping?

Cool cosplays. However, the Alberich build _I've_ been enjoying is a bit different.
The greaves don't add to the thorn magic's effects, so I swap them out for better greaves that don't clash aesthetically. Particularly, Malformed Dragon greaves for best protection, or Cleanrot Knight greaves for more immunity like when you have to tred the Lake of Rot.
It's also an ARC > INT-focused build, and I cast from the Albinauric Staff; Staff of the Guilty in off-hand to enhance thorn magic.
And Blood-affinity Rogier's Rapier is IMHO the best melee weapon to use with the build.
So essentially I'm still cosplaying Alberich, but the build feels even more efficient, and it's surely enjoyable.

So , I just started playing couple days ago. I got the meteorite staff, rock sling etc.
I started farming this mage gear from the first part , it's kinda trash vs the base astrologer gear that I'm equipped with . Or am I missing something ? Do I need to upgrade it ?

I’m in the late midgame (just killed golden godwin) and after farming a bunch of gear I’m still going with Carian Knight set and the two faced Burger King hat (both from second dungeon). BK hat is starting to be a liability so I’m swapping it for either the arcane mask from Noctus or the ugly banana int hat you can buy with 2nd boss rememberence
Best - GOBLIN - IF YOU REALLY GRIND THEY DROP A SECOND V2 of THEIR HEAD THAT HAS SPIKES AND LOOKS LIKE HES MAD - first version has PLUS 2 INT and is pretty easy to get

Lusat helm, Blaidd armor, Black Assassin gloves and boots. Staff depending on dmg or cast time. Wing of Astel ofc. I will forever simp for Astel. His skills are absolutely fantastic. I wish we could get some more of them in game with DLCs.
This is about just mages though but they are fire though

I like the preceptors robes you get from Seluvis but with the mask of confidence so you don’t have the massive hat
I use that and bullgoat leggings for the curly feet look

For me the best mage armor is the Blackflame Monk set. It has really good defensive stats but it's on the heavy side. Still great when paired with any glitztone crown.
I like to utilize that armor as well, especially if i am going with a black flame, or pyromancer type build.
What bonus does it add?
@@williamwilliamson7973 don't think it adds any but iirc it's pretty good mage defense. I used it throughout Raya lucaria and didn't have many issues there tbh. (at least with mages lol)

Pretty sure Lusat staff boost all magic dmg but makes fp cost higher. So in theory big beam + 10 sec of inf fp = broken

I am a noob at Elden Ring so i have a question for anyone who knows. So i was farming the first set on this list for my mage but after farming the 3 pieces (pants, gloves and robe) i equipped them but all my defenses and resistences dropped without any visible benefits compared with the default astrologer armor. Am i missing something? Why equip that armor if the default gives better stats? (except for weight). Also isnt the Lazuli Robe a straight upgrade to Raya Lucarian Robe? Would they be interchangeable? Thanks
He's using the full set for the sake of role play. All you really need is the hat for special bonuses

ive been using the snow witch set altered, so it takes away the fur cape, really clean and white. Did a grey fit for my first run through and then white for ng+ cuz you know, rebirth

What’s the point of sorcerer armor other than the helmet isn’t it always just better to wear armor that gives the most defense while still being able to medium roll?
Agree, the mage armor doesn't do that much more damage either.

sorcerer armor usually gives better element defense. plate armor gives better physical defense usually

9:53 As of right now, this step is bugged or adjusted. She gives you nothing and doesn't even speak to you specifically. I've heard you need to kill the God guy to thre far east first.
You need to kill Radahn first by starting the festival with Jerren the witch hunter, there is an elevator that takes you to Radahn behind Jerren at Redmane castle. In order to do this you must first find Azur's sorcery which eventually leads to her questline where you go to witchbane ruins and she gives you the primal glinstone (she is hidden in a staircase in the ruins, this is after killing Radahn boss ) you then have to go back to Redmane castle and talk to Jerren and use up his dialogue, then go back to Rennala's chamber in Raya Lucaria and there are two summon messages red and blue, pick the blue one to assist Sorceress Sellen, then you fight Jerren with her. After that you go to a 3rd location hidden ruins nearby Ranni's rise with a staircase that is invisible that you have to strike to reveal. If she is not talking to you in witchbane ruins it means you have not killed Radahn and talked to her in her original location with the pumpkin head boss. when she talks to you it will lead to witchbane ruins and on then to her hidden body that is located elsewhere in the secret ruins nearby Rannis rise, there is her new body in the hidden stairway. You then return to Azur's location(Green crystal guy) on Mt. Gelnir and his set will be waiting for you, Azur's set is hidden in the Sellia hideaway, it is on the floor cave in one of the tunnels with large purple crystals.
@@atomghost9642 Redmane castle and talk to Jerren does not works hes not there for me or in other videos iv watched. hes also not in the ruins for me after i gave her soul back and she said she was going to carion maner and that was the end of dialog and iv followed every step very carefully

I like to do medium armor, and then just the hat for a great suit, since all the perks come from the hat.
Yeah, when i'm doing a mage build i rock medium armor, and the hat for the perk i want.

I really admit though, the meteorite staff is the tits during the first half of the game and map. But once you get to Capital Lyndell and the frozen mountains of giants, it’s mediocre at best.

.meteorite staff pairs with Rock sling it probably best staff and spell combo in the game.

Sir first of all, first set is not true. You show the garden where located before boss, this door is locked. New players needs to open ot first. And second you said headgears different from looking. No. They give int bonus. Every of them has different int bonuses.

Its not really worth it gameplay wise. Was just experimenting for knowledge. I would probably cap at 200-250. But, then again, perhaps on a much higher new game+ it'll be essential. I've only gotten through New Game +4.
