Magic is different. One amazing act like this is great. But my guess is the judges want to make sure there is more than just one. Obviously anybody who knows who this guy is knows he is a true master magician and has plenty more up his sleeve, but from the judges perspective they might give the golden buzzer and the magician is out of great acts
Such humble and cute magician. I like him even tho I don’t know him. Howie was right he looked so confused and made it more fun to watch. He’s not just a magician he’s a great actor😂😂❤️❤️
Yeah, the performing itself is insane, but the story that he presented is on another level. First, he shows you that he's figuring out how the magic works. He is transforming blue cards into red cards and vice versa, his vest also transforms, he shows how good and amazing the power of magic is. But then he tries to abuse these powers when he starts to transform the cards into coins. For one second, he thinks that he discovered an easy way to get rich, he gets greedy and quickly collect all the coins, but the power of magic punishes him for doing this and disappears. . . . The moral of the story is that you should never be taking advantage of the good things that happen in your life, either objects, status, money or people and you have to be thankful for what has been offered to you. Have a nice day!
France Manrique But Shin Lim is asain Lol. But tbh shin Lin has a higher skill but his tricks dont look as good a Eric’s. Shins land work is much hetttr in my opinion though. Eric uses equipment for his magic unlike shin Lim.
I think this act has a story. First he found magic. Then he got a coin. Then he got some greed, converted all the cards into coins and put them in the box to save coins not the magic. The very next moment, magic got disappeared. Simply awesome and subtle.
I sorta fell like it told the story of how he enjoyed magic until he was recruited for the military then everything started disappearing since he wasn't allowed to bring anything with him.
Yeah, i was there too, and i loved how he showed the move.. you know which ;), and there were a thousend magicians sitting there looking at his presentation and no one could do the move, even if he just explained it! Crazy!
No Shin Lim also won AGT but just coz of his raw skill and work. Those let u get the golden buzzer but ultimately talent shines through, and I believe this time it will too. Chien for the win!
That act is also his act that made him win FISM World Championships of Magic only takes place every 3 years. FISM (The International Federation of Magic Societie)
Nah, he was good but not great. Sloppy slight of hand where you could see pretty much everything he did. Shin Lim was a lot smoother and had a much better table to do his stuff.
This is THE best magic I've ever seen in my life. This is not just magic, he's telling a story that a person going through a wonder time and everything disappear when he wakes up. It's just fantastic, it shocked me a lot more than other magician who tries so hard to act like they have real magic and in control of everything. No wonder this magic can be the champion of Fism, it deserves it
in 6:20 you can see the trading mechanism working(use 0.25), to see the cards going under the table, the coins come back from the compartment they were, notice that he puts the cards and coins in the same position, because it has a compartment The trick is visually very good and it performs perfectly, but there's a problem with magics like that, it's obvious
@Igor negrelli i can see it its pretty visible you can see the card poking out and the table makes it go under and bring the coins out but you cant see the coins because they are under his hand

I go back to this video when I want to feel like a kid again. No words, but just amazing technique. This piece is not just a magic trick, but a crafted form of art with a story to it. What a feeling...
Daniella Calle The producers know who Eric is just like they knew who Shin Lim was before he set foot on the AGT stage. Both are FISM winners. If you Golden Buzzer them, we as audience members will miss out on material they’ve already pitched to the producers. This is his signature act. I just hope he has something new for the semis and the finale. He is absolutely comparable to Shin Lim - and in terms of difficulty, this act is tougher than anything Shin did. Both are real life wizards. As a magician I just want to see more Eric Chien!
GamonThirteen The way magic is pitched to the producers is different on AGT. They know who Eric Chien is just like they knew who Shin Lim was before either set foot on the stage. If you won FISM, AGT knows who you are. The producers want ratings. The more magic from either, the better the ratings will be. If they golden buzzer either, that’s two acts we don’t get to see from them. The problem i potentially see for Eric is this is His signature act - this won him FISM. Hopefully he has two acts in his back pocket we haven’t seen. Bc he has a coin routine he’s gonna do next that will advance him past the next round. It’s not as impressive as this but it’s gorgeous. Shin imo had a better strategy for this show. He did his audition with a brand new routine no one had seen and saved his FISM winning acts for the next three rounds. He broke up 52 shades into two different acts and did Dream in the semis. I know for a fact they wanted Shin to do 52 shades or Dream in his audition. He decided to perform a brand new act instead. Brilliant strategy. So strategically, Shin Lim went into the show expecting to win or at the very least throw world class stuff at the world and let them decide. I know Eric has a gorgeous coin routine with variations (depending on how long they give him) coming up next. The question is, does he have three more acts beyond that? We will see. But everytime I see this ribbon act I’m amazed bc I know how f-omg hard it is and he makes it look way too easy!!! 👏🏻
It's fake you idiots. That's why they have a steady camera angle. Just like couple seasons ago they had another Asian magician Will Tsai who was proven to be CGI and fake.
They didn't do it because producers probably wanted to milk this kid for the ratings galore that he is going to be raking in with each performance. #Capitalism

@@CharlieForEve If ur talking about the first color change dealing one , he was appearantly doing bottom deals , thats why he only showed some cards on the top, not the bottom.U can also easily tell it by the handling. There is no way 2nd deals could help performing that illusion.
I've watched this routine a dozen times and I've started to catch a few of the maneuvers involved in making parts of this work. But honestly, there's stuff going on here that I can't even begin to get my head around. Like, sure, he can palm a couple of cards or deal off the bottom or whatever. But there're a LOT of props in this trick and he switches back and forth between them effortlessly, and I truly can't figure out how. This is as close as I have ever come to seeing actual magic.
Delike el Ducce well it’s a combination of both, singing like that accompanied with the piano is hard to find but the fact that he is blind and autistic makes it amazing because of the obstacles those two things set in front of you in life. It’s is truly incredible.
Its even simpler than that - very little of it is skill. Now, that's not to say he doesn't have some moves, but most of this act, is something you can do with a few minutes of practice with the props - this is magic shop magic. I think he's selling himself short with this act, which works a lot better in the dark and would like to see him do more of the actual magic. The couple of sleights he did, were immaculate, if unoriginal in their application (the vanishing deal, for example).
An amazing performance! But people who are saying he’s better than Shin or vice versa need to understand that they are two completely different acts and magicians
He was enjoying magic for what it was, but when he started exploiting it for wealth (creating coins), the magic left him. Love the idea behind the plot!
Eric you are unique I have never seen talent like that Don't give up Because you are a shining star to become even brighter. Best if luck for the future.
when the camera zoomed in on that card passing under the ribbon, you could tell people were NOT expecting him to lift it up halfway. It's moments like that that make his entire act, and the fact there is more than one is staggering.
This is by far the best magic act on AGT. It's more then pick a card or hidden things that reappear later. It's truly magical throughout. Other then maybe Ben but he was a different wizard in Predictions.

I think this act has a story. First he found magic. Then he got a coin. Then he got some greed, converted all the cards into coins and put them in the box to save coins not the magic. The very next moment, magic got disappeared. Simply awesome and subtle.

I love his gestures. Breathtaking and sweet. He seems so excited when doing his magic. He looks like he is transported into the magic world.
Yes thats true!
