He wasnt. He used the invisible deck by bysicle, a gimmicked deck (you can just google it, i own it too). Mike asked Howie to put his sign on the invisible card, so it is clear that he will write his autograph on it, wich Mike studied before his occurs and wrote it on all of the gimmicked cards
You are absolutely incredible. You're so likeable, handsome and entertaining. Plus I just can't wrap my head around how you did all that! Honestly the best magic I've ever seen!
At the invisible deck the first trick with the card inside the box, he said to Heidi to burn all the faces or all the numbers right? She decided to burn the faces but he kept the faces in the end instead of numbers.
But he said which ones are we burning? She said, we’re burning the faces. Then he asked Sofia if we’re burning men or women? When you think about the only 4 possible chances he gave to Simon, he’s not going to try to draw a club or a spade, so he’ll be picking from a heart or diamond, & the (Magic Mike?) knows that Simon is alpha so he’s going to pick a diamond over a heart. So he’s set this up knowing: - Heidi isn’t likely to burn the numbers. Simon or Howie might, but not Heidi or Sophia. - Sophia is going to choose to burn men, & keep women. She’s a very confident woman & wont choose to burn them over the men. - Simon knows it’s too hard to draw a virtual club or spade over a heart or diamond. Because he’s an alpha male, he’ll pick a diamond, and the guy is watching his eye movements trying to figure out how to hand signal it. You wouldn’t do that with a heart, it’s too easy, his reaction time would be much quicker in deciding, or more so that reaction time is going to let the guy know he’s trying to figure out which one is less common (heart being most common), & if he’s taking a little bit of time to think, then he’s chosen the diamond over the heart. Simon isn’t going to hand draw a heart on national TV. So at the end, he burns their choices. All he really did was play into their genders & personality traits, observe their eye movements & reaction time. He dresses it up with this invisible deck, which is common hand sleighting. He told Howie to put anything he wanted on that invisible card. Think about what you would think of with a few seconds to react? Do you pick…a tree? Or something personal to you, the first thing you can think of to draw? Your signature. He knows that from looking online, & the rest is just sleight / fast hand movements. He dressed it up to look really good, but if you are someone who is professionally trained in reading people, observing eye movement, body language, reaction time, & a relatively fool proof 50/50 card trick at best, this is actually one of the worst demonstrations of mentalism that I’ve ever seen. I’m not saying he’s not a good entertainer. I’m not saying I could perform it like him. I’m simply saying it’s actually quite simple in concept, that he almost can’t lose.
@@CC_Babblecockman your description made me laugh... where did you get all this from? It's magician's choice, simple as that. Whichever each of them pick, he just continues the story to make it fit. She picked faces and not numbers... he shouldn't have asked her which she wants to burn, just to pick. So really the numbers just got left behind, the way he did it. Whichever the next chose, the choice for Simon would always be which of the four ladies is he saving. It's not at all that he knew this one would pick men or women. And whichever Simon picked, he simple took the one he needed from his pocket. That's why he had the paper clip on it... gave him an excuse to reach into his pocket. Also might have had two suits on each card since he only showed half of the card.
He used the invisible deck by bysicle, a gimmicked deck (you can just google it, i own it too). Mike asked Howie to put his sign on the invisible card, so it is clear that he will write his autograph on it, wich Mike studied before his occurs and wrote it on all of the gimmicked cards
Yeah it's called magicians choice. If she said numbers, then those get burnt. Because she said faces, he changes the patter to be ok, now which of those are we burning and then saving... just like if the other one said women, then he'd ask Simon which woman he wants to save. Simon gets the same question either way.
In the SCAM magic, all punch lines are related to the picked letters. As long as the little boy gets the letters forced, his show will succeed. As of the method, his stand came with the four drawings facing down, and then he stuck the drawings with the picked cards.
Yeah that one was so obvious, I was like, my god. Is his whole routine based on that? Yep. It's always like that though with those mentalist prediction ones. Like obviously it's a forced selection if you already had the word written on your body or prerecorded etc. would have been cooler if he did some sleight of hand to apply the pictures discreetly so that it wasn't so obvious the stand was the prop.
@@artisthusnatalal3099 … It makes me nauseous when I hear magicians say to the judges at their audition in front of the audience how they “have never met or set anything up, blah, blah, blah” 🤢🤮. When I hear it, I’m left literally yelling at my tv “JUST GET ON WITH IT THEN!!!” 😆😆😆. I just wish they were more like Shin Lim in his early days on Penn & Teller’s “Fool Us” show where we didn’t see or hear him say anything before Alyson introduced him… It was kind of like a “silent assassin” approach which I loved as he let his skills do the talking for him 👍😁
28:15 the guy tells Heidi what do you wanna burn and she says the faces, but then he says we have only the faces left i dont know how the judges didnt pick that up. From the beginning he wanted the faces to get left because i guess he knew Sofia would leave the Queens remaining
Yeah it's called magician's choice. He forced the decisions to go his way no matter what. So he set it up as ok, now which face are we saving... it would have been better for him if she said numbers of course, cause then it would match. What he should have done is just let her choose face or number... and if she says faces, then "ok we're saving the faces for now, numbers are burnt", and if she said number, then "ok all numbers are burnt".
Mandy is funny but she’s well prepared with all especially from beginning when she asked Simon to choose . Basically all the pages are the same in her book hehe then she put back inside her big back of cos there was an original one standby just in case they ask haha. So it lead to everything so it’s well thought well performed great 👍
Ur not serious, right? They were good performers, not magicians. The tricks are easy. You can see them on youtube, you can even buy them. They're not even that hard to figure out. But performing them with style and charisma takes practice. And being able to perform them flawlessly in front of cameras takes nerve. They're great performers. But it's not magic. Lemme give you an example: How did Mandy know they were going to spell out EAT? She gave them the letters. Watch at 15:00 when she "shakes the bag" between draws, you can see her closing the bag and re-opening it. That's because it's really multiple pouches with see-through walls. One pouch has a bunch of E's, the next pouch has a bunch of A's, the next pouch has a bunch of T's. So if she wants you to draw an E, she just puts her hands together and her fingers switch to the first pouch. Then you draw an E. She distracts you with a joke and some movement as she walks to the next person. She says she needs to shake things so you naturally believe she needs to close the bag so nothing pops out while she's shaking. But really, she's just putting her hands & fingers together and selecting the second pouch to open. So now, no matter what, you draw an A. And so on. I think, in cards, it's called a "push." You make the participant feel like they're making their own choices, but in reality you've "pushed" the choice onto them. Many, many tricks are like that. For example, look at Ryland: Ryland let you think everyone's choosing cards but they're not. At about 23:50 it doesn't matter what was originally on the backs of the cards. Once he places the cards on his black board, the cards are (probably magnetically) joined together with the SCAM cards he wants you to see when he turns them around. Watch how he turns the cards. He firmly grabs the front-facing number card AND the back-facing SCAM card that's now attached to the number card. He grabs both and turns them around revealing the SCAM cards he already had sitting there. While sitting there they were a letter (SCAM) on the back (facing into the black board he has, and hidden from the audience) and they had black material on the front (facing the audience). So you see a black board but it's really 4 black cards on a black background. He snaps the random number card into place atop a black card and then turns it around revealing the letter behind it... the letter that was sitting there hidden the whole time. And because he knew it was going to spell SCAM he could plant all those SCAM visuals around the set (and on the floor) beforehand. The last guy's even easier - kinda silly, actually. He "pushes" the choices down to the just the face cards. About 28:15, he asks Heidi what she wants to burn (face or numbers). If she says numbers, he goes "great, the numbers are gone and we're left with faces." Then he proceeds with Sofia to narrow down the faces. If Heidi said "faces" like she did, then he changes his dialog to be, "ok, so the faces are 'starting' to burn," and then he asks Sofia which faces she wants to save. Either way, he has them "choosing" faces like he wanted. Then he'd have changed his dialog after Sofia's choices to narrow it down to the Queens for Simon. Simon had the only real choice (suit) but by that time it has narrowed down the options to 4 cards. The 4 queens. So he now only has to palm 4 folded cards in his right hand. You can see, at 29:48, if you go slow speed, that his left hand comes up and removes the crispy card Simon pulled out, and leaves a new folded card in his right hand. Slow it down. In the shot with him and Simon, you can see the card Simon gave him is sticking up out of his fingers an inch or so. But when he "swipes" away the paperclip, he's really covering his right hand so you don't see that he's taking Simon's card away in his left, leaving you seeing the stub (barely visible) of the real card he wants you to see, barely sticking up out of his right hand now. He had four queens folded and just needed Simon to pick one so he could present it.

For real!

Ryland let you think everyone's choosing cards but they're not.
