  • British Columbia’s vast network of forest service roads is now seeing a growing number of gravel cyclists using them for recreation and adventure. Once used for commercial logging, these roads are being repurposed for gravel riding. Through this network of roads, riders are now able to access places that were previously thought unattainable.
In the face of climate change, the need to make tourism and recreation more sustainable has never been more pressing to the local community in BC. Repurposed is a short film that takes a closer look at the discipline of gravel riding, what it means to the community, and how it is transforming the way these logging roads are used to interact with the land.
Repurposed was filmed in the unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh and Líl̓wat Nations.

This is an amazing video. I just purchased my first gravel bike this week and I'm hitting the KVR from Kelowna to Penticton this Saturday for my first real taste of gravel riding. I am beyond stoked to get into this sport and hopefully help it grow in B.C. Canada

Il gravel è quello che il ciclista ha sempre desiderato, quello che il ciclista su strada desidera, senza saperlo. Il gravel è la dimensione naturale del ciclista.

Well you certainly showed riding on logging roads at it's most ideal. Quite a different story on an active logging road mid summer when the dust hangs in the air for a half hour after you've had to pull off on the shoulder to let a logging truck pass.

Chris, this is unreal. The shot at 3:54 is so magnificent I want it as a wall-sized oil painting.
So stoked you're out here getting people fired up on Gravel. I'll never forget seeing your brutal early spring Adams Lake bikepacking trip on your road bike... you've come full circle! Love it.

You speak of this network of roads being intended for logging in the past, while the reality is that the bulk of the roads that you go on are intended for current logging.

Yall should get a device that connects to your bike that lets you make love to it, that's all that's missing from this romanticized video.. yall always try to glamorize this. "What is gravel to me" like it's trying to dissect some great secret of the universe. These type of videos go on a loop talking about nothing and they use the biggest vocabulary to do it.. wtf💀
