Living only 60km's from the Ardennes Arbalete trail...i'm probably just a little bit biased. Thanks for adding it to the list, the southern part of our tiny country has a lot to offer when it comes to bikepacking. And for those who won't stay for the trails...our beers are so good they're on the Unesco cultural heritage list.

Even as an American, I was glad to see all of the international routes. But this got me thinking, there might be a cool series in here if you did it by region: too three in the southeast, west coast, British isles, Pacific Northwest, etc.

I did the ardenne arbalette this late august beginning of september, around the F1 in Spa weekend, so I had lots of rain and some dry spels, especially the last day. I found the southern part perticularly very nice, with hard climbs and steep wet boulder decents, the best part. the northern part, and start of the route, takes you on a very nice 15Km bikepath where you can get used to your packed rig. I did this route instead of the Vosges route through to the Netherlands due to the Covid-conditions at the time.

I've ridden the Cambrian way in Wales. It is beautiful and rideable in 2-3 days , Knighton- Aberdovey station and back to knighton (for me ) Faster for many, and 3-5 days taking it easy for both ways. My only disappointment was arriving at Aberdovey station hungry and out of water and desperate for a coffee, only to find there was no cafe there!
The next one may be the Highland Trail. Good routes and lots of helpful advice for bikepackers , both new, and experienced

Thanks for the inspiration! I found myself in the UK and had a few extra days. I did the middle loop of the highland 550 and it was nothing short of spectacular. Lots of rain, very remote and many magnificent views. I’ll have to come back for the full route.

This was great. so glad to see TWO BC routes. I can't wait to do the N. Vancouver Island route in the Spring. I wanted to do it NOW, but you know, weather! I moved to Vancouver Island partly to ride all the back roads. As a Vancouver Rando I already rode all the mainland BC routes including into Alberta all three ways. The Crowsnest route (BC Rte 3) paralleling your Fraser Valley - Fernie route really sucks (climbs, heat) so I am tempted to try that - after I get in shape. I guess you could always bail and cut over the the Crowsnest if necessary!

That Euro Divide route looks interesting. 7000k is just the distance across Canada which is probably tougher. Europe is more interesting! I cycled the length of the LF1 route four times and also around Turkey. Always meant to do the rest of Western Europe. And my French and Spanish aren't too bad.

@@alumenyame8351 we put bigger tires and gears on our classic touring rigs, but that was not enough.
Too much weight, too little traction, too little experience riding tails I guess. Also some of the smaller trails were quite overgrown in the summer.
After one day we took official bike routes that were amazing (and on asphalt).
      Good luck and have fun!
