    That Carole King house is incredibly charming. The castle-style front door, the turret, the window seat on the cover of Tapestry - you can see why those creative women loved it.

      It doesn't look it from the front but it is a rather gigantic house with views from front and back.

      @RockessentialTim I'm glad you said that because looking at the front, I couldn't understand the attraction to that structure besides the history. Now I know there's a whole lot more space to enjoy and work with.

    Fun video Tim, 🙋‍♂from Nashville. Great entertainment for Sunday breakfast. I'm now doing Ubering in my new Tesla here in Nashville. When I pick up people from their hotels leaving to go to the airport. I tell them " Evidently no one told you, That once you're here in Nashville, you can never leave." I get quite a few interesting comment's.

    I used to live in Echo Park one block away from these Victorian houses on Calumet street next to the Edgeware brick apartments. I was always in awe of the beauty of these antiques. It was Anton La Vey founder and high priest of the Church of Satan that’s photographed behind the Eagle’s in the balcony.

    I live at the infamous Cecil Hotel downtown. People die here almost on a weekly basis. You add that up by a hundred years that’s a shitload of dead people. So by my estimation this place should be the Grand Central Station of ghosts. Neither me or the numerous people I’ve talked to have experienced anything. Go figure.

      I’d go to management and demand a sighting! I mean, any dwelling that witnessed Good ole Richie R. coming home covered in victims blood, undressing in the lobby and going upstairs to bed, has got to be haunted.
      Maybe up your profile name from 666 to a pentagram. THAT doesn’t work, try for a week quoting what he said after his trial,’I’ll see you in Disneyland.’ Someone says hi to
      You in the halls,’ I’ll see you in Disneyland.’
      Keep us posted. 🎉

    Thanks again for another great video. When I was in LA this past spring I tried to find an open door to the Lido apartments but I failed.I just missed someone going in. Def doesn’t feel like a great part of town lol. By the way, do you record all of your music soundtracks. I saw in the one video it seemed like you had a studio. Love the musical interludes between locations. Thanks again!

      Funny, the door happened to be open when I went by. The former Hollywood Hawaiian Hotel where Warren Zevon lived and wrote if about a block up the street on Yucca. And yes, I am a musician and I write and produce all the music for the vids. I prolly spend more time on that the filming part!

    Ok Tim, your gonna think I'm nuts on this one but, here it goes,
    During my 95' trip to LA not only did we visit a bunch of Doors sites we also stopped in to see Room 105 at the Landmark Hotel
    I remember walking down the hallway and the only door open was 105, just barely cracked but open, we peaked in but no one was inside, so I stepped back to get a photo of the door then, we went elsewhere exploring LA. Things didn't get weird until I got the film developed back in Texas, to my amazement the photo of Room 105 door came out way different than the others. we took tons of photos in LA with the same camera and film type. but the Janis room is slightly out of focus with a dull light coming out from the top of the door jam, but the light is bent and separated like smoke. this photo is creepy creepy creepy. Maybe it was Janis's way of saying hello to a fellow Texan.

    • @RockessentialTim
      @RockessentialTim  Год назад +1

      Wow! I would love to see it. I'm going to be making a Janis video in the coming future and obviously room 105 will have a place in it.

    Very entertaining, Tim. What's your take on why the Tom Mix / Frank Zappa Log Cabin property has not been redeveloped after decades of dereliction? Given its location it has to be worth a fortune. Who owns it now?

    • @RockessentialTim
      @RockessentialTim  Год назад +1

      I have no idea who owns it and I hope beyond hope nobody buys it because if they try to develop it, the traffic on Laurel Canyon Blvd will be more of a nightmare than it already is for years to come!

    Hi Tim, brand new to your channel. Very nice, thank you for this. Will like and sub for sure.
    I love your style with quick and to the point objective narrations.
    The former Navy/Marine Corps Reserve Center in Elysian Park is haunted. It is now an LA Fire Department training facilty. I spoke with one of the city employees there who told me that dozens of city, county, and contractor employees have gone in there to do work or repairs in the underground facilities area and have ran out in panic refusing to go back in to even retrieve their tools. They swore to God there is something is in there. Not making any of this up either.
    This city employee said that people highly suspect the reason for such chronic paranormal type activities is because of the different types of death in or around that facility. Both Navy and Marine Corps personnel died inside there drowning. There was a big pool in there designed like the inside of a Navy ship to train the sailors and Marines how to deal with emergencies. Someone allegedly committed suicide there too. Also, there was allegedly both Native American and Jewish cemeteries there that were relocated.
    The guys in Slipknot said something about that Houdini Laurel Canyon house being haunted too. They recorded there.
    On a different note. A former neighbor of mine was the first responding LAPD officer to that motel room when Janis Joplin was found dead. He said he could still see the needle decades later. He said he neve though he would be sent to a call and personally see a muscian whose music he liked dead of a drug overdose.
    Sorry for the ramble. Just your video was done so well it got me fired up to talk about this stuff. Keep up the great work you have a lot fans out here.

    The unknown figure in the Hotel California pic in the Lido lobby could have been a guest who happened by and was checking out what was going on. Not saying ghosts dont exist, as I've experienced them on more than one occasion, just ruling out the mundane explanation. That said, another great video!

      I saw the Germs quite a few times and it was always total Chaos. Lorna Doom used to borrow my bass rig occasionally. I honestly can't remember how I knew her, I think we lived in the same building. I remember she was way more polite than her image would have led one to believe and that Belinda Carlisle was her best bud. One of the more memorable shows I saw was the night Darby jumped off the balcony onto the stage at the Starwood and broke his leg.
