The "GR" branded oil is intended for the BMW engine in the Supra. Also, the drain plug should be tightened to 30 ft/lbs. and the oil filter to 14 ft/lbs.
Running 0w 20 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum done 4 oil changes already. My Corolla GR has 10k miles I change the oil every 2500 miles except the first one was at 1k miles.
When finishing the oil change, don't forget to mark your miles on the Toyota website for warranty purposes as well as logging for your claims. Also, in the vehicle the reset for maintenance is in the settings on the cluster.
I did my first oil change on my new car by myself, how do i do this on the toyota website? there doesnt seem to be an option that lets me do this until i bring it to the dealership?
Should not check the oil when it's hot. It will 100% read wrong. The way this particular engine works, it won't read right for at least 8-10 minutes and will read lower.
I would like to know who actually makes the GR oil for Toyota. My dealer uses it for the Toyotacare free oil changes but I still would like to know. I normally use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 so I'm curious.
Any 0w 20 with the ILSAC-GF6-A will be fine. It’s the frequency (intervals) that matters. I change every 2500 miles. But don’t go more than 5k miles. Turbo with direct injection change that oil often.
Great video. Subscribed so I can keep up to date on maintenance on my own GR Corolla. Any recommendations on how to pick a shop? I can do some of my own maintenance but would rather leave bigger jobs to a professional.
@@ej86depends on what you mean by “standard” GR 0W20 is BMW standard oil. By no means the same certifications as the regular non GR branded Toyota 0W20 oil

"I'm not sure who makes this it's rebranded but it tells you on the back" proceeds to not tell us. Wtf

Is that overkill every 2500 miles..... not enough 🦕 🦖 tho.
@mmc2k9999 it's a turbo car, better safe than sorry plus oil is cheap
Why not every 2000k or 1000? I Change my oil after every drive just to be safe
I do the oil changes my self 30.00 for oil 5 for a new filter.
AZ GRP here… hot temps = heavier weight -- > 5w-30

In metric countries they say 2.5km changes
How were you able to pull off the crusher washer that was already on there?
So the 0-16 has been out for a while now the new Toyota oil is 0-8
That oil that leaked out concerns me. Can’t wait to look at mine…

Are you guys going to be offering different filters? Like I would love to able to order the Motul oil with the k&n oil filter..
I mentioned that to the team to get working on that - Thx

The Supra oil is not the correct oil for GRC
Question: What would you do if there was actual metal in the oil?
Over to the Dealer or NEXT DAY AIT a motor from Japan for Raceday
I thought the supra oil was a no go 😬
It is a no go. It has different standards/certifications than the regular Toyota formula by Mobil1 oil.

Hi Jeff - LOL
