The Monkees have been a part of my life since 1966. I am now 68. These wonderful singers, actors, and talented performers still mean the world to me. I love them. I love their music. When I watch the show today, it still brings a smile to my face. They, for me, represent a happy period in my life. My teens! I was lucky enough to see them in concert many times, as well as meet all but Nez over the last 25-30 yrs. Davy was my absolute favorite. So I am happy for that. I hope I have an opportunity to see Micky in concert or meet him again in the near future. It breaks my heart that Davy, Peter and now Mike are gone. Miss them always. Thanks for your video.👍💕
I am also a Big Monkee fan and am also 68 years old. I met Mickey at Busch Gardens in Tampa and got a nice photo with him. I subscribed to your channel.
I was born in 66 and loved watching the Monkees when I was a kid. When I was a toddler my mom heard me singing Hey Hey were the Monkees while riding in the car. It was the first song I ever sang. I had all of the albums and I played them over and over for years. I saw them in Atlantic City in 2010, not too long before Davey Jones passed. I’m so glad I had that opportunity.
I love all of them, they were a part of my childhood. Each one had something different to add. I think Pleasant Valley Sunday is one of my favorites. I truly appreciate their talent and God Bless them!!
Way outta sight man a total gas i dig what you sayin. Probably some out there now saying WTF. I was also 9 with a bunch of teens around getting into Mary Jane and digging the vibes.
My favorite Monkees song is one of those rarities where the title is not in the lyrics. That song is the sometimes outro, For Pete's Sake. In this generation, in this loving time In this generation, we will make the world shine I'm a boomer and saw the shows in the 60s. This song, though I like it a lot is an obituary to the ideals of boomers. It is an anthem to how the generation that failed me most is my own. If we had been more like our parents, called by some the Greatest Generation, perhaps the state of the world would be better.
They were a part of my childhood....watched them every Saturday morning in my pjs....life was good. Rest in peace Davy, Mike, and Peter. Rock on Mickey!
I've been a Monkees fan from the first moment I saw the TV show back in the 60's. My first single I ever bought was Daydream believer and to this day it is still my favourite song. ironically if they hadn't been shown playing their instruments they could have been another boy band. The Inkspots were recognised as the first back in the 50's. Because of the Beatles they were created and they were their downfall too. RIP Davy, Pete and Michael. And good health to Micky, your music and shows will live on.
Almost identical to my experience.I wasn't born early enough but was then too young to fully appreciate them as a young kid. I first saw the Monkees on TV in the 70's as a kid but didn't really get into their music until I was much older. My nephew was staying with me when I worked in Hong Kong (I lived in a village so there were no neighbours to disturb). I recall his emerging from the bathroom saying, "Daydream Believer blasting out at 7. am on a Monday. What a way to start the week."
As a kid, I lived for the Monkees show on TV. They were the best, clean, funny and in a sense, innocent. The best tends to die off too young. God bless the Monkees.
Impossible to name just one song. I so loved watching the show! I saw them in concert when I was 14 the whole stadium was girls screaming for their fav. It was awesome. I saw Davy and Mickey at different times separately performing in my hometown that was so nice! Davey Peter, Michael rest in peace. Micky be well and enjoy what ever time you have. We all grow old and eventually we all pass on. It is the memory of all the joys that we had and remember that keep us young in heart.
My first ever concert in 1986 , at the old Oakdale theater in Wallingford,CT. The stage was circular and rotated round and round. I was 13 and my older sister and I loved watching the reruns on Mtv. Even my younger brother and sister were into them. We got so excited for the 20th anniversary tour, my God almost 40 yrs ago. My sister and I walked around for hrs at a solid out show( our mom bless her waited in the car for us and then even came back later to get us after the show. Unbelievably a man came to us with 4 tickets and he just gave them to us. Wow A 15 and 13 yr old. We sold the other two tickets quickly to a couple for 30$ lol we weren't stupid. It was the most surreal experience to me. My first exposure to famous people on TV. And my first concert. The atmosphere was incredible. We got to see Herman Hermits,( Henry the 8th I am) and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap . But it seemed an internal wait til the Monkees came on stage to Hey hey we're the Monkees ( I think anyway). The whole show was amazing, the only thing that could have made it better is if Mike were there. Sadly even though I saw them 3 times it was never with all 4 at the same time. I was delirious, my sister chiding me for screaming we love you Davy. ( Hey I was only 13 at the time). A few yrs later Rock and metal came back into my life and I went in other directions. But me and my friend John played every Monkee tape over and over. We especially loved No Time, Randy Scouse git, and the porpoise song. The Monkees we're a huge impact in many lives and they proved they belong in the Rock Hall of Fame. They have countless hits and tons of great songs. Oh and I would put Shades of Gray up to songs like Yesterday, Hey Jude, everyday. That song is a ridiculously underrated, and under recognized song. And just shows the incredible talent of those 4 men
I saw a concert with Micky and Peter back in 2016. It was my first concert ever (I was 15 at the time). That night left me astonished. They were full of joy and energy, making it bittersweet to leave at the end. While I felt lucky to have that moment, I was upset I never got to see Mike. I adored him the most and really looked up to him as a person. While I collected Monkees records, I also had Mike's. The day he passed I cried so hard. I felt grief for weeks. Him and his songs (Tapioca Tundra was my favorite of his) got me through rough patches in my life. Peter's passing was a hard one to shake too. At the time I saw him I remember he made a death joke... Nobody liked hearing it of course, but with the kind of spiritual person he was, I guess he accepted that fact..
We're happy to know that you were able to watch The Monkees live! Thank you for sharing your life story. Wha other types of video would you like to see?
My favorite tune was You Just May Be The One. Even though it wasn't one their more popular songs, I feel it was such a well written song. I love songs that change tempo but can bring it back to the core of a song. Mike Nesmith was a far better musician than anyone gave him credit for! Rest well boys. You bright a brighter day to a lot of people.
Monkees Headquarters.. in my opinion is one of their best albums.. many songs... many great songs... what a bargain.. back in those days.. to get so many new songs all on one album... for such a great price...
I've loved them since the 1970s. I listen to their music and watch their show regularly. Micky, God bless you for keeping the music alive. I will always be a trueblue Monkees fan!
June 16, 2016: my friend at the Hard Rock got me a "meet and greet" ticket for the show. I met Mickey and Peter before the show for the brief hand shake and photo op. I mentioned my love for the band and jokingly invited them to my home studio to record a tune. As the security hustled us off to make room for the next guests Peter said, "Wow! I wish we had more time..." The sincerity of his voice made those words stick with me. Those words haunt me now. Mickey was equally gracious and I was able to spend some time with him after the show. I cherish that hour and will never forget how full of life was, and how he loved making everyone laugh at his stories. Making people happy is the core of who he is. I knew studio players made the records. That's what the industry has done since the '50's. The Wrecking Crew played on their records as well as Jan and Dean, Sonny & Cher, the Mamas and the Papas, the 5th Dimension, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, the Byrds , and the Beach Boys album Pet Sounds. The Monkees were unjustifiably maligned for doing what everyone else did at the time. Hang in there, Mickey. We all love you.
@@jeffcarlson3269 It seems Mickey Mouse changed his last name. I hope he isn't sticking Minnie Mouse with the legal papers. At least he didn't choose to change it to Monkee Mouse.
The Monkees are my favorite. It is so sad that three of the four have passed away. I hope eventually they get the accolades they deserve like induction to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame which they've been wrongly kept out of.
@@randylibby2523 Uh...plenty of living performers have made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Monkees have been purposely kept out by specific persons who decide which artists get inducted.
I had a crush on Peter when the show aired. so adorable. loved the show. very unique. so uplifting & silly. we need silly today badly!!!!! sorry they're gone. grateful to have had them in my TV life. Mickey thank you for being you!!!!!!!
Anita Garatie, Peter Tork was great! I believe he played eight instruments (all well), and was a better actor than he gave himself credit for. I recall an old interview when he said that he felt like he was, "made of wood" in the early Monkee episodes. This was due to his early performances being very stiff. Later on, of course he said that ALL four had a level of proficiency in BOTH music and acting.
While most had a crush on Davy, I had a crush on Micky. I thought it was the cutest and I just loved his personality. His smile made me happy. Good to see he is still handsome as ever. RIP Davy, Peter & Michael. Yall had brighten my days in the golden days.💛
The Monkees came to tv the year I graduated high school. In the '70s, my daughter watched them after school, and I would watch, too, while making dinner, etc. Always loved them, Peter, 💜 in particular. Still listen to their cds every day. God bless them for all the joy they brought to millions around the world. Simpler times. RIP, you were great! 🎸🎶🎹💞💞💞
My favorite song is door into summer. I love these guy's, such a great childhood watching the Monkees on TV as a kid and adult. Took my son too their 50th anniversary concert and we got second row floor seats, my son was so impressed, he is a fan for life as I am .
I still find myself listening to Door into Summer... it has a special nostalgia hypnosis it places over my when I hear it.. my mind wanders back to the days when I first heard it... back to my childhood.. summers spent at grandma's house..small town life.. riding bikes till after dark... all the scenes of my youth..
Favourite song is probably one of Nesmiths 'the girl I knew somewhere' or 'you just maybe the one'..or 'circle sky'.. Nesmith had a voice I would have loved to have had..Dolenz had the great pop voice undoubtedly..but Nez just had a smooth deep easy Texan charm to his vocal..effortless.
One of my favorite groups of all time!! Daydream Believer and a homecoming queen....yup singing it right now! 😊❤️ My best friend, Larry Saltis, was in the New Monkee's band. He beat out thousands in the contest on MTV. (Back when they still played music.) Great job 👍
I had the pleasure of seeing this Tribute Tour with Micky Dolenz. It was a wonderful Tribute with lots of video footage of the group. I feel very blessed to have been able to see it.💖💖💖
I watched these when I was a kid. Aways enjoyed Micky. Now 68 years old I am see the others have passed away. Mickey if you see this Thank you for all the great songs and TV shows 🤗🤗🤗
It must be very hard to see your fellow band members die, even worse close friends. As long as he remembers the great times shared, and hold fast that they will be together again , he will be OK. Imagine how Paul and Ringo must feel? Or any legendary group that has had the loss of it's members. They will abide with the faith that they will be together again one day.
A friend took me to a Monkeys show in PA that features Has-Bands , a term of endearment for tours where the audience is all seated and now and then a performer takes a seat and it's all good. I was stunned how multitalented Micky D is. Wow, Bravo Micky you are a very very talented man.
We're happy to know that you had the chance to see The Monkees live! Also, thank you for sharing your message for Micky. Which of their song appealed to you the most?
Talking about Micky reminded me that my favorite Monkees song is "Randy Scouse Git". Michael, Peter and Micky were so much more musically talented than the show expected or deserved. (And Davy was the consumate showman.) The only people who couldnt find anything to appreciate about them were the ones who didnt look.
Seeing them age and 3 of them pass the way they did stunned me. I know we all don’t live forever, but it still was a shocker to see Davey, Mike, and Pete pass. As for their songs …. Day Dream Believer Last Train to Clarksville Pleasant Valley Sunday Those are a few whose titles I can remember…. One of my older sisters used to play The Monkeys and Beatles albums seemingly 24/7, but I didn’t mind because I also enjoyed their music.
About 50 years ago I was 6 years old and I remember seeing the show on TV every now and then Saturday morning. Back in the 90’s I remember seeing a Monkee’s marathon on MTV which brought back memories from my childhood and I became a Monkee’s fun. Two of my favorite songs are “Daydream believer” and “Last train to Clarksville”. I still feel quite sad about the death of Davy, Peter and Michael. I hope Mickey is doing well as I would love to see him singing the Monkee’s song live in concert at least once. Have a nice day!!
Davy and Peter were my favorites. Peter was so adorable! Mid to late 80s, my foster parents had us playing softball. When we'd win, dad would throw us in the back of his truck. And would take us to Pizza Hut in our town. We'd all be screaming HEY HEY WE'RE THE MONKEYS. Guess that's one of my favs. Great memories Great song❤❣ God bless them all❣❣

I grew up with the Monkeys and watched their their family/kids show On the telly in the 60's . Always thought them quite goofy and for an initially manufactured band they very soon showed everyone just how accomplished they were as musicians and song writers. I always feel old when part of my childhood ' dies' like this . I am positive they will all be reunited again in a better place . Thank you The Monkeys for all the joy , music and entertainment you gave everyone !

Pleasant Valley Sunday, Papa Genes blues, Randy Scouse Git, Valleri, Shades of Gray, Popoise Song, The girl that I knew somewhere.....lol Ok I'm done, I could go on all day. Been a fan for a long time. I'm glad Micky is taking better care of himself. It has to be incredibly hard being the last one.
I really like a lot of their music as well. It is hard to find just one that is the best. A lot of that depends on how I am feeling at the time. One of the things about the Monkees was that is wasn't just one lead singer. All of them had a opportunity to lead in multiple songs.
@@bryanwhitton1784 I even left off some of the ones from the Pool It album, which I really liked the whole thing. I agree, I loved how they all had a chance to be the frontman.

I was 10, 11, & 12 when their TV show was on NBC and Laugh-In came on afterwards. I never did my homework on Monday nights back then. I bought their first album and Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, & Jones Ltd., when those albums were first released and I still have them. Nice memories of a time period that will never happen again.
@Denise C... I as well.. I got the Monkees debut album as a birthday gidt from my aunt when I turned 12.. she did not know who the Monkees were but my cousins her children..told her I liked the Monkees.. they were Beatles fans... and I remember the night I bought Pisces,Aquarus, Capricorn, and Jones Ltd... Mickey sometimes performs with Christian Nesmith (Mike’s son) and Christian’s girlfriend Circe Link. There’s videos on youtube with them singing together. Mickeys voice is still great after all these years. Christian and his girlfriend have videos as well. He’s a great guitarist. I didn’t have a favorite I loved them all. Used to watch their show. I was 8 years old in 1966.
Sabrina Pittsley, You wrote that, "Micky's voice is still great after all these years". I agree! It's not a fluke that Micky's voice is most identified with the Monkees best songs and greatest hits. LAST TRAIN TO CLARKSVILLE (#1), I'M A BELIEVER (#1), PLEASANT VALLEY SUNDAY (#3), STEPPIN' STONE (#20), and WORDS (#11). With respect to the vocal stylings of Davy and Mike it was Micky's VOICE that made the Monkees commercial. He was the only Monkee, with the voice for rock n roll, and he still has it....
Studio musicians were used on the early albums not because the boys couldn't play well enough (Peter especially was an extremely talented musician), but at that time, studio musicians played on ALL albums no matter who they were. They had to fight to get to do their own music
WOW..... PETER WAS AN ACCOMPLISHED MUSICIAN LONG BEFORE HE WAS IN THE MONKEES. He can be seen in concert footage playing classical piano. He was such a good banjo player that George Harrison had him play on the soundtrack to Wonderwall. He wrote the closing theme to the show. He was a very accomplished guitarist. He taught Micky, who was actually a guitarist, a bit of drums. MICHAEL was an accomplished songwriter and was about to be signed to a contract as Michael Blessing when he got the role on the show. The only albums they didn't play on were the first and second. That wasn't anything to do with their skills but because filming the show didn't allow them a lot of time to do more than add vocals to tracks put together by studio musicians. By the 3rd album - Headquarters - it was them playing on every song. Any studio musicians were in addition to the four and were under their direction. They composed songs on that and the following albums asking with songs written by friends of the band. The album Justus was only the 4 with no studio musicians at all.
'A little bit me, a little bit you.' Not one of their best known songs but the words have a message for everyone in a relationship. It also reminds me of my childhood in the 60s. I had an amazing time in school with my lovely little school friends.
It is one of their best known songs actually. It reached #2 and has been on most compilations. Nice comment; it is one of my favorite Monkees songs, too.

He had two beautiful horses that he kept in a field, they never wanted for anything even though he was down on his luck money wise. Very decent guy, glad he lifted himself up again.
I first discovered the Monkees in the mid 80s when I was in the 6th grade. At that time, episodes of their show were in heavy rotation on MTV and later Nickelodeon. I hope that Micky remains strong as he continues to live among us. Long live the Monkees!

I loved watching them on tv. Mickey always was my favorite as he seemed to have more fun than any of the four. Daydream Believer was my favorite. R.I.P. to the three who are gone.
I grew up with the Monkees. Mickey was always my favorite b/c of his antics on the show. I recall them trying to break into a mobster's safe and they destroyed his desk in the process. They scrambled by placing the desk blotter, the pen pot/can and phone on the safe (since the desk was reduced to splinters). Mickey spun around looked directly into the camera and whispered, "They'll never know the difference." LOL Anyway, my favorite song was one that Davy or Peter sang the lead on... Shades of Gray. That song I've always identified with.

So glad we got to see Mike and Micky last September. My then 14 year old daughter loves those guys, and it was a joy for both of us to see them, particularly Mike, who was always my favorite. Mike contributed so much to the music industry, both recorded, and behind the scenes. And my favorite Monkees song? “You just may be the one”, hands down.
My favorite song was "Daydream Believer" plus Davy's "Jean" for the film "The Life of Miss Jean Brody" (I think that's right?). I know Mickey has appeared a couple of times on stage with Mark Lindsay (Revere's Raiders) and a few other surviving members of bands from the 60's and 70's. Wishing him good health and long life.
They were all skilled musicians and performers before the show. Peter Tork partnered with Stephen Stills and formed a band. He played the guitar and banjo and probably other instruments. Mike called himself "Michael Blessing" and had performed his own songs on television. Mike wrote a lot of Monkees songs. Mickey was the one member who had been in a previous TV show. He auditioned for the Monkees by playing the guitar and singing Johnny B. Goode. Davy performed in many musicals before getting a part in the show. They knew what they were doing. But according to Don Kirschener, they were his property because of their contracts. So, what ever they did was up to him. During the show's run, they did live concerts in front of thousands of fans, playing and singing themselves. I was a kid in the 60s and I grew up watching these guys. As far as having other musicians play the music for them, that's not unusual. Even the likes of Jimmy Page and others often were helped out by studio musicians.
Pete also played harp & church organ & I think a brass instrument. His banjo lessons were hilarious.Lucky students to have him for a teacher. But I don't think even Peter could've got math into me.
Yeah I remember seeing an episode of the Brady bunch where the focus of the show was Davy Jones, This show was a rerun of the Brady bunch show , It was long before I knew anything about the MONKEYS TV SHOW, very interesting report though
They were a huge part of my childhood. Still have some of their albums. Sadly Davy and Peter died within days of my parents. My dad died Feb 24 2012, Davy, Feb 29. My mom died Feb 18 2019, Peter, Feb 21. I felt like I lost my entire childhood in one fell swoop.
I began watching Monkees reruns in the mid 70’s. I was 4 years old. I instantly developed a crush on Davy Jones even at that young age! I love many of their songs. I boo and hiss at the people who do not consider them to be a real band. I agree, they started that way on the TV show, but they certainly did not lack talent. Eventually, they learned to play together and went on tour. With all that said, I definitely love Daydream Believer and Look Out, Here Comes Tomorrow the best. Thanks for posting this video. So sad that Mickey is now flying solo. But I wish him the best always! I’m glad he is still with us. ❤️❤️
I still can't believe Dolenz is the last surviving Monkee. I mean, he was drinking with Lennon, Nilsson, and Moon in the 70s! I guess it's the Keith Richards effect- do a TON of substances and yet somehow live to an old age. I'm glad he's still going, he has always been my favorite of the Monkees
I recall when they interviewed Keef and he was getting beyond smack, but wanted to make a point to the worlds research community. He implored them to note that in all his years as a serious junky, he never got a cold or as much as a sniffle, and now that his system is running without heroin, he's now getting colds like everyone else. I thought it was a very good thing to put on record and challenge the researchers. He was telling them to find out why fully addicted IV heroin use is in effect the preventative 'cure' for the common cold. ;-) Who knew?
The Monkees individually were good musicians, but as you say, they were hired as actors. They weren't experienced with playing together so it took them awhile to work things out. Davy Jones already had a successful singing career, so when the other David Jones decided to begin a singing career of his own, that David Jones began using the name David Bowie to differentiate himself from Davy Jones. In the 1960's, many bands didn't play on their own records. Eventhough the bands, like the Monkees could definitely play their own instruments sufficiently, it was probably best said by Jan Berry (of Jan & Dean) to Brian Wilson(of the Beach Boys), "Why play the instruments yourselves when you can buy the best(musicians)". The same group of people, known as the Wrecking Crew, played on many records. In fact, the only reason there were some actual bands was to go on tour with the leader. Those who were hired for that duty were: the Tijuana Brass, the Playboys, the raiders, etc. You want to talk about a totally fictitious band? Try the Partridge Family. The only real member was David Cassidy and he was accompanied by the Wrecking Crew. How about you like those Ventures records? Again, that was the Wrecking Crew. The actual Ventures were real, but they were always out on tour making the big bucks and didn't have time to record. A major advantage of hiring musicians is that they are professional studio musicians and take a fraction of the time to record something than if the actual groups fumbled through the recording sessions wasting money. Studio costs are expensive and time is money. In the same time it would take the actual group to make one side of one record, the professionals could record 3 or 4 songs. Now, Michael Nesmith , he pretty much did what he wanted and even more so after his mother died and left him millions of dollars. He didn't have to work. He was a very talented musician, playing a custom 12-string Gretsch guitar. He was also a very talented composer. His song, "Different Drum" put Linda Ronstadt on the map. There isn't a simple story about the Monkees and it can't be told in 7 minutes.
@@FactsVerse how about a look at the Bette Davis / Joan Crawford rivalry? I also think a story about how the land was developed in the early days of Hollywood would be very interesting
I met Mickey Dolenz in 1987 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, MI. I stood in this line with my friend for what seemed like a century all for his signature on my album! Glad I was there though, take care Mickey!
I grew up listening to the monkees my aunts introduced me to their music ever since I was 6 years old I have loved their music and now that I am 55 years old I still love and enjoy the Monkees I love all 4 of them

You're very much welcome and thanks for watching! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of video would you like to see?
I'm with you. (I'm 67) I still binge on their shows here on You Tube!
My sister and I had their pictures all over our bedroom walls. Micky was my favorite. Her’s was Davy.
One of my favorite Monkees songs of all time was your Auntie Grizelda on which Peter York sang lead.
I think Mickey was the lead singer on Pleasant Valley Sunday, right?

In 1966 I was 9 years old, I remember watching the Monkees on TV .. They were Groovy
The Monkees definitely were Groovy. While some bands were great, cool, way out or out-of-sight, none were as Groovy as The Monkees.
I was 10 when they came on the air. I bought the Monkee mobile model kit and put it on top of the TV after I built it!!😊👍
Way outta sight man a total gas i dig what you sayin.
Probably some out there now saying WTF.
I was also 9 with a bunch of teens around getting into Mary Jane and digging the vibes.
Me too, same age 👍
I was 14 and LOVED THEM. Still do ❤️
My favorite Monkees song is one of those rarities where the title is not in the lyrics. That song is the sometimes outro, For Pete's Sake.
In this generation, in this loving time
In this generation, we will make the world shine
I'm a boomer and saw the shows in the 60s. This song, though I like it a lot is an obituary to the ideals of boomers. It is an anthem to how the generation that failed me most is my own. If we had been more like our parents, called by some the Greatest Generation, perhaps the state of the world would be better.
Agreed...us boomers were too busy smoking weed for too long... then when kids came along..... ooops!...
They were a part of my childhood....watched them every Saturday morning in my pjs....life was good. Rest in peace Davy, Mike, and Peter. Rock on Mickey!
We're happy to know that you're a fan of The Monkees! Which of their songs is the most memorable for you?

Great song...
"What am i doing hanging round" was my favorite. Never failed to watch them on tv every week. So sad to see the 3 departed.
I LOVED that song.
Beautiful words, thank you for your message for The Monkees. Which song of them appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse Personally Myself I Liked Davey. Be it the Accent Or His Great Sense Of Humor I Liked Him.
Yes, Daydream Believer is the best!!!!
Flip side is better
As a kid, I lived for the Monkees show on TV. They were the best, clean, funny and in a sense, innocent. The best tends to die off too young. God bless the Monkees.
No truer words...
The Stones are still bangin' and clangin', missing only Charlie Watts - who only passed in 2021.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
My first ever concert in 1986 , at the old Oakdale theater in Wallingford,CT. The stage was circular and rotated round and round. I was 13 and my older sister and I loved watching the reruns on
Mtv. And just shows the incredible talent of those 4 men
Thank you
I was at that concert at Oakdale. The Grass Roots were one of the opening acts, too.
That's funny I'm 15 and about a month ago my first concert was Micky Dolenz
Mike sang a lot of great songs in the group....as they all did...
Love that one. "You Told Me" is also a great cut.
My favorite is" I'm a believer."
Same.
Monkees Headquarters.. in my opinion is one of their best albums.. many songs... many great songs... what a bargain.. back in those days.. to get so many new songs all on one album... for such a great price...
A MASTERPIECE
I've loved them since the 1970s. I listen to their music and watch their show regularly. Micky, God bless you for keeping the music alive. I will always be a trueblue Monkees fan!
I seen that same tour?- in PA. The joke he said was the one left would be known as 'The Monkee'
You're a true fan! Thanks for sharing your sentiments. Which song of the band appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse It's a 3-way tie between Last Train to Clarksville, Pleasant Valley Sunday and Circle Sky.

Micky was my favorite.

Daydream believer,by Davy Jones, but know it makes me cry every time i hear it, because it was when they where young and having fun.❤🇦🇺
I saw their "reunion" tour in the 80's (without Mike). They still had that magic. My favorite song was Pleasant Valley Sunday.
I had the pleasure of being there during one of the last interviews Davey Jones did before passing. the passings of him and his bandmates still makes me sad, their music has been a part of my life fdor so long.
I was born 50 years ago and grew up listening to them
I am a few years older. I liked them too watching the reruns.
I was in awe when I first heard them aged 15 yrs old.even today I'm 71 yrs old I have to stop if a record comes on .last train to clarksville. And pleasant valley sunday.and that was then this is now .loved ALL SONGS THEY MADE.saw them when they were older ,at the NEC twice.o my god dancing in the isle I was 15 again. Thankyou Mickey ,Davy, Mike, Peter. Thankyou for such happy days. Linda Bellamy UK 2022.
I was with my folks at Skagway..( later Skaggs.).... and I rushed out to the car on that cold winter night.. while I waited for them to finish shopping.. just so I could read and study all the credits on the back cover and admire the front cover.. by the light...of the over head parking lot lights.....
I wish Mickey Dolenz a long and Happy life

Mickey sometimes performs with Christian Nesmith (Mike’s son) and Christian’s girlfriend Circe Link. There’s videos on youtube with them singing together. Mickeys voice is still great after all these years. Christian and his girlfriend have videos as well. He’s a great guitarist. I didn’t have a favorite I loved them all. Used to watch their show. I was 8 years old in 1966.
I was 5 in 1966, lol I enjoyed the syndicated versions! 😄
Last Train to Clarksville and Daydream Believer are my favorite songs from The Monkeys. 😊
Monkees
That's everybody's favourite songs by the monkees, they're not tbe Beatles, they don't have 100 great songs.

Davie Jones lived in a caravan in our village in England in the early eighties, he was broke but was very charming and funny.
One of my favorite bands of all time sad 3 of them are gone now but their music will live on forever had many favorite songs
"I Wanna Be Free"! So grateful I was able to see Davy, Mickey & Peter perform in Detroit at the Fox Theater in 2011!
I couldn't wait to come home after school to watch The Monkeys. RIP

Monkees
One of my all time favorite bands of the 1960s! So sad that Davy Jones, Peter Tork and mike nesmith are gone now. Micky did a great job on his tribute to the monkees concert!
We're happy to know that you love The Monkees. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! What other types of video would you like to see?
Been a fan 47 years and to many songs to have a favorite one
I loved the Monkees so much as a young girl watching their TV show in the 60’s, I wouldn’t miss a single episode 😁. Davy Jones, of course, was my favorite and my favorite song was “A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You” followed by “Pleasant Valley Sunday”. I STILL love their classics mentioned in other comments, however, the two favorites of mine bring back good memories of my childhood ❤️
Thank you Fact Verse, for the memories 😊

Micky Dolenz was the most important member of the Monkees. He had the best voice and had the most genial personality. Micky is seemingly in good health which is fantastic and could absolutely carry the band’s music credibly. Micky is a natural.
Is this Micky?
They were all important.
I don't know if we can single out any as being the most important.. all the Monkees.. each one was an integral part.. of something bigger.... and the Monkees would Not have been who they were if Any single one of the members would have been someone..different..
I agree
Loved the monkees hope he gets through it and holds on longer

Been a huge Monkees follower since I was 3...had the great pleasure of meeting Micky Dolenz comic con uk 2022.
He was wonderful and meeting him felt like I was meeting the other 3. Micky, Peter, Davy and Mike were meant to be.
I grew up with the show and have seen the Monkees live on several occasions, having seen all the members at one time or another. I've also caught Mickey's solo show. The band is a part of life and the memories are incredible.
I saw Micky's tribute show this past April, and it was so much fun! Bittersweet for sure, but it was a beautiful tribute to the band.
Pleasant Valley Sunday. "mothers complain about how hard life is but the kids just don't understand"
Remember laying on the carpet with my sister to watch the Monkees on tv. We also saw them the first at Milwaukee county stadium with the beach boys and frigid pink.....saw them at every local show they performed in the Milwaukeec area.
To quote from an article "Never was a group so derided,so maligned and so misunderstood as the Monkees-all because of four actors who initially didn't play on their records-critics could ignore the fact the Beach boys didn't play on their rec and the Mamas and Papas didn't play on their hits, what they couldn't ignore was some businessmen put together their idea of a pop group and made money out of it"
I can't believe it's been 50 yrs ago I was a little girl back then and had a big crush on Davy Jones I wasn't in my teens yet only about 5 yrs old I love their music love those monkees forever ❤💕

I can remember watching them years ago
I grew up listening to The Monkeys! We had 5 of their vinyl records, which I later bought as CD's. Their music doesn't grow old. My crush was Davy and his British accent. I share Mickey's birthday, but not the year. I can still listen to a CD and know what song is next.
You're no fan because it's spelled MONKEES
My grandmother's birthday is the same day as Micky Dolenz! (March 8) she was 14 when he was born.
I loved watching them on tv. Mickey always was my favorite as he seemed to have more fun than any of the four. Daydream Believer was my favorite. R.I.P. to the three who are gone.
I don't understand how someone can be one's favorite Monkee but they still don't spell his name correctly (Micky). Have a nice day.
I love The Monkees. They was so amazing. Their tv show and music was very entertaining. Excellent Video.
I watched the show as a pre kindergarten. I don't know how I knew it was time, but I always ran home to watch. In 86 I went to the reunion tour in OKC. I wish I could go to the Micky. Dolenz tour now. Last Train To Clarksville is among my favorites
Love them🥰🥰🥰 watched every Saturday on TV 📺. Saw them two times in concert !!!!
I was born in 1980. but I am a huge Monkees fan. I have gone to a few concerts over the years
In away I felt like I grew up with the Monkee's even though I did not discover them until the 80s then when I was 14 they released a new album. I watched them on Nick-At-Night
Great band. I watched the TV show when I was young. My favorite song from them was “Daydream Believer”.
So great, so many hits if you're a child of the 60's (or any age for that matter) ...so I will go with Head. Their own all the way and a totally underrated album.
Jean was actually sung by Oliver. Rod McKuen was the songwriter.
Thank you for sharing your favorite song and your beautiful message. What other types of video would you like to see?
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is the correct movie 🎬 title.
DAYDREAM BELIEVER is a great song. The Monkees third and final Number One Single.
My fave song - the powerful Shades of Gray. That song helped to shape my life.
Actually, just two were musicians (Nesmith and Tork) and the other two were actors, when they were chosen.
@@michelmurphy7152 Well, Davy Jones was a singer - he had a long run in the musical, “Oliver,” before auditioning for the Monkees.

Wow, I bet☹️
I began watching Monkees reruns in the mid 70’s. I was 4 years old. I instantly developed a crush on Davy Jones even at that young age! I love many of their songs. I boo and hiss at the people who do not consider them to be a real band. I agree, they started that way on the TV show, but they certainly did not lack talent. Eventually, they learned to play together and went on tour. With all that said, I definitely love Daydream Believer and Look Out, Here Comes Tomorrow the best.

Mickey if you come to Wisconsin I like to meet you. You keep gone going. Sorry about your 3 friends. God-bless you. From Dawn Paul Melnik 🙋♀️🌞👍🌈.
He’s a Monkee Man!!
