😂the fuel capacity and consumption is really something else on the Rivale, but after 10 years, it aged much better than the Ducati (looks wise), I sold my hyper and kept my Rivale, I can't resist that ass it lks like a cobra
i even bought the hyper, i don't like 3 piston bikes anyway + the hyper looks and feels alot more like a supermotard but can also be used very well for daily use.
The MV is definitely more streetfighter-ish than the Hypermotard. It's sad that the tank capacity kills it. Some company should come up with an aftermarket extended capacity tank.
2:31 It looks like the MV's headlight should be tucked under where the original one is, in that big open space. Cover the original light with a painted cowl and boom! 10x better looking!
the data on the Ducati not being able to customize the electronics is incorrect. you have full control over all 3 modes. I have one set to 0 ABS 0 TC and full throttle delivery..funny to end a review unsure about the victor while you are pushing one of them home..
Non è vero il termignoni va preso a parte non ci esce la moto.. E poi l ohlins dietro c'è cosi come le marzocchi davanti. Quindi ti assicuro che questa è la versione sp
what about the ducati? i've been reading on some forums that the ducati has a lot of issues, even brandnew one's. mainly ecu, wiring, dash, etc... i love the ducati, but ever since i've read about the troubles, i've kinda changed my mind about buying one...
Just an FYI. The 2015 Rivale has the same (larger) fuel tank as the Stradale. I fit that tank to my 2014 Rivale and get 100 miles before the fuel light comes on.
The Duc is closer to the initial idea - Hypermotard. The Duc IMHO looks better although the MV has some nice touches. The Rivale has no suspension travel thus is not suitable for fooling around (jumps, light offroad etc.). I considered buying a Ducati but I got a KTM 690 SMC R instead :)))
This was an awesome review! Not too long, not too short. I can't wait to see the review on MV Turismo Veloce against its competitors.I do have one question though, how do these 2 bikes handle off road?
yup, but that bike seems to be ignored in the US for some reason. You can throw the ktm 990 smt into that category too and it's been here longer. This should have been a 4 bike comparison.
I didn't include the 990 KTM because it is no longer in production, at least not int the USA. The Dorsoduro is currently in production and available, if you can find an Aprilia dealer.
I've seen 20+ guys with the hypermotard. Snowcat, his friend, two motovloggers in my country, and tons of others on reddit and forums who are having problems with the Hypermotard.
Love the looks of the MV, but the gas mileage is a bummer. My Hypermotard with full racing exhaust system, gets over 200 km before the fuel light comes on and then it has another 45 km's before it runs dry. Yes, tested... :)
I bought a hypermotard in thailand in 2014. It’s a beautiful bike and fun too. But from the first month i had problem with the starter. And it never stop. Electrical problem which they can’t find where it from. And i met so many others customers in the waiting room with the same problem. Beautiful bike BUT a bike you don’t trust is not fun. Sometime start. Sometime not.... i’am afraid to do long trip because the poor level of reliability of this bike. In 2014 i read that ducati were more reliable so i bought one. but it doesn’t. THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL. Don’t buy a bike you don’t trust! I had many honda and yamaha and never had problems. It’s the first and last Ducati bike i will buy. I want to resell it but in thailand it’s not easy. Specially with a seat bike so high and people want to give you peanuts to get it.
@@pathamsut5611 yes of course they are!!! But not at a decent price. Anyway, my Duc was sold long time ago and guess what? I don't use Paracetamol anymore😉
90% of the commenters say the Hyper looks better and I agree with that. What these guys are talking about is completely subjective. Not only for the looks but the engine and other components too. Hows the MV`s engine a clear winner?? And you can customize the Hyper`s electronics too.
The Hypermotard looks way better because it's much more simple, it looks agile and aggressive as with the Mv.. it looks fat and heavy and a little bit overly done... this might be the Honda Type R of its motorcycle class.. Got to agree the MV has more electronics but they are forgetting that bikes of this class should be a wild animal... you do not put a wild animal in a tux.
MV Agusta fixed the small fuel tank problem, or this review is wrong? Because on MV Agusta site, the fuel tank is 4.23 gal (16 liters), not 3.4 gal (12.9 liters). For me, it wouldn't be that small tank, even if it would have 3.4 gal, considering that my Husqvarna SMR450 has 2.4 gal (9.2 liters) 😄
You can customize the level of ABS and traction control on the Hyper. Its not a race bike so why do you need to customize the engine braking just learn the bike and you'll love it.
MV Agusta Rivale needs a fuel cell tucked under the rear well. Once you run out of gas 3 or 4 times then its fun factor is out the window. Then is time to put it on Craigslist
well if it did 50 miles to the gallon it wouldn't be a problem now would it ? funny how electric bikes are starting to have more range then normal bikes
Mikolaj1406 What if you want to go into canyons and shit? I live in Brazil and we pretty much have petrol station at every corner as well, but some roads I like to ride are little far away and they don't have petrol stations close to that. And besides that, even if you have a petrol station at every corner, going there every 50 miles is just ridiculous.
Sondre Oldereide Michaelsen It's not a motard. Would you buy the Rivale to do motard stuff or to ride it on the canyons and roads? I would ride it on the road. If I wanted a real motard, I would probably tune one.
Why the heck would they put such a small tank on the Mv Agusta Rivale? I thought this bike sounded cool UNTIL he said it has a 3.4 gal tank and ran out of gas at 50 miles, 31 MPG!!! WTF?? I get 42 MPG on my 12 honda cbr1000rr for goodness sakes.
Hey its cyclecruza!😁 im totaly fangirling now, but man version. its very cool u watch moto vids too. i luv hearing ur thoughts as well any other sane exrienced rider. im getting into riding too.
I have 5 Ducatis and 2 Mvs and am now trying to decide between 2 more Ducatis and 2 More Mvs, one a Hyperstrada, one a 2016 Facelift Diavel 1260, and of the MVs the Others are a Brutale 900, and a Rivale. I already have an 800 Triple cylinder MV (sounds shite and wants to rev at 11,000 even at 20 kph do not recommend. unless as a work of art for the wall), and an Inline 4 cylinder 1090 Brutale (my favorite of all my bikes including the Harley. Ducatis i have 2 Monsters, a scrambler Cafe Racer 2020, and a 22 Nightshift Scrambler, and an 848 streetfighter. Got some other brands too including Benelli, Enfield and Diablo.
Ducati pushing the MV up the road is great advertising for Ducati =) 8:43
😂the fuel capacity and consumption is really something else on the Rivale, but after 10 years, it aged much better than the Ducati (looks wise), I sold my hyper and kept my Rivale, I can't resist that ass it lks like a cobra
Ducati is a clean, nice looking bike while MV is like alien version of a street bike.
Still think hyper looks better, different strokes for different folks
Ducati looks good to me, I'd ride it. I just prefer the Rivale.
i even bought the hyper, i don't like 3 piston bikes anyway + the hyper looks and feels alot more like a supermotard but can also be used very well for daily use.
100%
where is the Aprilia Dorsoduro :(
The rivale is awesome and beautiful, pity that they don't produce it anymore :/
That MV is sexy as hell... Ducati still wins in my book.
That Rivale is so good looking, how the heck it didn't sell? Motorcycle world is truly unpredictable
With the Ducati you can also adjust the traction control, abs levels and engine power levels..great review !
If Ducati is the Ferrari of motorcycles, then Mv Agusta is the Lamborghini of motorcycles.
+RoninWalker6 ducati and lamborghini are part of volkswagon and the MV engine was designed by ferrari..
+MrKdr500 HAAH. Just about to say that.
Figuratively speaking. In terms of Italian prestige.
+RoninWalker6 MV was always the Ferrari in moto
Thats why i ride aprilia
good review, contains the pros and cons of both bikes
Best video yet guys, good job and keep this up!
That Rivale sure is gorgeous, but f**k MV for giving it a tiny tank. Who the hell wants to fill up every 50-60 miles?! No excuse can justify that.
Ducati vs MV?
Like it even before watching!!

Italian motorcycles are the best, bye from italy!!!
Please do a review on the MV Agusta Dragster
Time to go full Motard!!
Only Americans manage to do a 10 min review on the hottest bikes on earth without actually riding them even for a sec....
MentalMayhem it's hard to ride when your out of gas.
Think of it as "post-ride reflections"
Good job. Makes up for your last Tenere video review.
Hypermotard is the legendary hype never a doubt
That Ducati is one of my dream bikes. Id love to have that and like a 07 R1
Good review
The hypermotard in the video isn't the SP version. It doesn't have the Termignoni exaust and the ohlins suspention...
Non è vero il termignoni va preso a parte non ci esce la moto.. E poi l ohlins dietro c'è cosi come le marzocchi davanti. Quindi ti assicuro che questa è la versione sp
Can you tell me the jacket which you are wearing on the Augusta I want to buy it
The Mv looks like its missing the nose piece under the headlight ?? I like the hyper duc look way better
Best moment ?
"UHHHHHG"
"Foot sore? Wanna switch?"
"yeah"
They should have included the Aprilia Dorsoduro.
what about the ducati? i've been reading on some forums that the ducati has a lot of issues, even brandnew one's. mainly ecu, wiring, dash, etc...
i love the ducati, but ever since i've read about the troubles, i've kinda changed my mind about buying one...
3 years passed. What did you decide to go with?
@burnt Rubber you mean literally? 😅 jkjk 😐
@burnt Rubber decisions decisions... FTR1200 is around the corner
Just an FYI. The 2015 Rivale has the same (larger) fuel tank as the Stradale. I fit that tank to my 2014 Rivale and get 100 miles before the fuel light comes on.
Both these these bikes are great but I choose a Husqvarna Nuda 900R instead.
Nice comparison guys. Also, Do make a comparison of MV Agusta F4 and Ducati Panigale 1199?
The Duc is closer to the initial idea - Hypermotard. The Duc IMHO looks better although the MV has some nice touches. The Rivale has no suspension travel thus is not suitable for fooling around (jumps, light offroad etc.). I considered buying a Ducati but I got a KTM 690 SMC R instead :)))

yup, but that bike seems to be ignored in the US for some reason. You can throw the ktm 990 smt into that category too and it's been here longer. This should have been a 4 bike comparison.

These two are new bikes, hence the review. The Dorso isn't.
What about the Aprilia Dorsoduro which is also a hypermotard?
Nice bikes guys....😍
What can you say about these bikes reliability-wise?
Reliability basically sucks.
lol horrible snowcatxx87 has had 2 motards and they were garbage
I've seen 20+ guys with the hypermotard. Snowcat, his friend, two motovloggers in my country, and tons of others on reddit and forums who are having problems with the Hypermotard.
Anyone that asks about reliability shouldn't buy a bike like these.
Hey guys nice video but do you know how much the mv cost around ?
how is the MV for a passenger on a short ride around town?
Thanks for this great video. Can you also review the new Kawasaki Z800 vs his rivals? (Mid Naked Bike)
what's the name of the label from the black jacket :D?
how tall to drive these two bikes comfortably?
How do these compare to the KTM 990 SMR?
I love them both 😢
How does the ktm 990 smr stack up?
Love the looks of the MV, but the gas mileage is a bummer. My Hypermotard with full racing exhaust system, gets over 200 km before the fuel light comes on and then it has another 45 km's before it runs dry. Yes, tested... :)
Hey Tom, just for men called they want their touch of grey back.
MVs crack the radiator riding just in pavimented road. They are amazing bikes, but are fragile.
the mv is BEAUTIFUL
How did I miss this comparo?
I love the push job
I bought a hypermotard in thailand in 2014. It’s a beautiful bike and fun too. But from the first month i had problem with the starter. And it never stop. In Thailand, there are many people who want to buy your motorcycles only you don't know where they are.
@@pathamsut5611 yes of course they are!!! But not at a decent price. Anyway, my Duc was sold long time ago and guess what? I don't use Paracetamol anymore😉
u think aprilia dorsoduro can be better of one of them?
Dorsoduro anyone?
Troy Siahaan, do you bataknese?
What about reliability?
Ducati e mv agusta
Good
Helo Brazil...
ducati's prettier imo
nah...in any universe.
Noslov ! except the multistrada. the new ss is beautiful in real life. just the headlamps look a bit off
90% of the commenters say the Hyper looks better and I agree with that. What these guys are talking about is completely subjective. Not only for the looks but the engine and other components too. Hows the MV`s engine a clear winner?? And you can customize the Hyper`s electronics too.
who won?
I prefer the look of the Duc, the Rivale looks 'bitsy' to me and the Duc's styling is more cohesive.
Bella prova, si sentono i motori, c'è piacere a seguire la prova, non come quei fastidiosissimi test con musica demenziale di sottofondo!
I agree! Although my metaphorical view of the Ducati Hypermotard is exactly "an animal in a tux" xD Just can't get over how good that beast looks
Daniel Kemnitz hahaha! Yep, the hypermotard is just beautiful...
MV is stunning but the 800 triple still has the sprag clutch problem even after the recall, which means great looks, no start........
The MV sounds like the new F1, it's amazing!
in looks for me the ducati shits on the mv
The guy with the beard sounds like Tina Belcher when he gets excited.
This US guys need to read more or find the proper words instead of using "-ish" all the time.
Riding Guatemala loool
Guatemala?? Hell yeah! 🇬🇹
Man I want that black jacket plss someone link
are they a supermotos ?
Mv is a beast. Comparison is out of range here..
"sporty - motardy bike" great analysis tony...it's just street legal supermoto bike...
Well, at least it is all downhill from Crystal Lake, I know this canyon very well.
How could anyone possibly say the MV is better looking?!
You can customize the level of ABS and traction control on the Hyper. Its not a race bike so why do you need to customize the engine braking just learn the bike and you'll love it.
Looking from the riders the position the tank and bars of the Rivale look an awful lot like the FZ-07.
No ABS on the MV sways my opinion to the ducati. With how cagers don't even pay attention Anymore it's an essential part on modern bikes these days.
Is the rivals sold in America?

Where is the electric shootout?
Get the fuck out of here
in italiano si dice cilindri ,no pistoni ,2 cilindri ducati-3 cilindri mv agusta
+Massimo Bernardo la frase nasce dal fatto che Mv ha scritto "tre pistoni" sul fianco di tutte le sue moto.
ok non lo sapevo,grazie
IT IS THE MOST BEAUTY, THE MOST POWERFUL, IT IS THE SPEEDIEST,.
IT'S AN MV.
RIVALE.
IT'S TIME.
Nice bike
Haha. Never go full motard.
Both good bikes but too expensive to maintain in my country....
How tall is this guy troy
MV Agusta Rivale needs a fuel cell tucked under the rear well.
Once you run out of gas 3 or 4 times then its fun factor is out the window. Then is time to put it on Craigslist
Love the looks of the Rivale but I would never buy after you guys said the fuel tank capacity. 3.4 Gallon?!?!??! WTF MV?!
It's for European riders, we have petrol station on every corner here.
well if it did 50 miles to the gallon it wouldn't be a problem now would it ?
funny how electric bikes are starting to have more range then normal bikes

Hey... its a motard.. not a touring, a 3.4 gallon tank is 1.4gallon more than your average supermotard which what its set ut to be.
Sondre Oldereide Michaelsen It's not a motard. Would you buy the Rivale to do motard stuff or to ride it on the canyons and roads? I would ride it on the road. If I wanted a real motard, I would probably tune one.

ahahahahah!!!!! La MV beve più di mio nonno!!!!!

Hypermotard is a big supermoto/maximotard. Ser also 950sm or 990smr and dorsoduro.

Fueling issues sloved=more created aka no fuel xD
CycleCruza There is a bigger tank available, mine has it and I get more range on the Rivale than my RSV4.
