You should totally send them to more bikes launches, this video was the deciding factor in me purchasing the new SP and I can't be the only one. What's good for them is definitely good for you.
I've had my Hypermotard since 2008 and ride it everywhere all the time. It's my only bike and was my only transport until September 2018. It all comes down to how much enjoyment you get from the bike, not how big the tank is, or what category of motorcycle it appears to belong to. I take it to work, on long trips, through the twisties in the mountains and I've even taken it drag racing. If it pushes your buttons you'll ride it anywhere.
Jason Hall The same as with any 11 year old bike really. Battery needs to be kept charged, tyres need to be inflated correctly, chain needs to be lubed and tightened correctly. The only faults with it at this age are some minor wiring issues around the ignition switch and the indicator cluster. They seem to have become slightly temperamental but could easily be fixed.
Motorcyclist is dead to me. Adam is no bueno. Much like Chad on Bike World. I still get to follow Zack tho. I have no idea how to watch Chris, Suzy, or Luke.
I bought the sp based partly on this review. It’s excellent fun. Come from a gen 5 Zx10r and not looked back. Tank range no problem unless absolutely hammering it. Steering damper and termi not stock on sp. 1 tooth down on front sorts smoother ride. Lower seat available. Weighing only 75kg and short I dropped the forks 20mm through yokes to also help turn in and seat height. Preload off on rear also. I like the fact it’s niche. Knee down fun, wheelies, comfort, touring and giggles. Perfect for B road Britain.
Had the 2009 Hyper 1100S. What a bike! Had it for 4 and a half years and loved every mile. If there was one bike I wish I'd of kept it was that one. Never missed a beat.
I love you guys. I also really appreciate how Chris asks questions and follows along with everything being presented with rapt interest. I own an 821 hyper and even with its niggles the bottom line is you can’t go wrong with any of these jumpers. Mad fun.
I picked one up in 2019 and it’s an urban hooligan/canyon carver that has kept me smiling every time I get the chance to ride it. It’s not a do all bike but what it does do, it does well.
Very good discussion and what is discussed at 13:30 is spot on. When someone says 'It is a Ducati and it meeds special attention setting off' most people won't understand, until they set off on a Ducati. The words 'Its a Ducati' mean a lot to those who have ridden one. To someone who has not, they cannot magine what it means. There is only one word for a Ducati engine regardless of model, and that is 'Superbike'
love how you over took every one whilst casually talking us through the review, made it look like light work lol. love this channel and the brilliant reviews you guys do... want to see you review the bmw s1000r ;)
More Body/chassis roll does not necessarily mean more weight transfer, but a smoother one. With stiffer suspension you would have higher weight transfer peaks under braking although the chassis itself moves less
Crazy I love Zack but I'm not paying $70 for a year of him. I'll see him through 44teeth. Your my go to now for all things motorcycles. Keep it coming and I hope your RUclips channel flourishes.
Just read MCN's review on the hypermotard, the review had a remarkable amount of similar opinions. To my dismay it was the man himself Mr. Alastair Fagan. So I asked myself where did it all go wrong for MCN lol keep up the great work.
@44teeth loved hearing a Napoleon Dynamite reference from my favorite channel! I knew Jared Hess (the Actor that played napoleon) jsut before filming and he was hella funny ,..he used to hang out in character but we didn't know it was a character jsut was so funny to hear him at party's in that character. He didn't think it would go anywhere hanging out in Provo Utah at Mormon university BYU party's but hoped it may get to Sundance film festival and when it got picked up by MTV still no idea it would go world wide . Love hearing people quote around the world. Funny thing is it's real, one of my best friends grew up in the city in Idaho it was filmed in and he said it was dead on lol LOVED THE REVIEW of the hypermotard!! I left sport bikes after 12 bikes LAST being an R1M becaue of a back injury froma wrecked Ducati 999R so sport bikes are out. Considered the hypermotard from Ducati as a Ducati fan, also the old Streetfighter and ended up going Yamaha MT10 at launch (FZ10) in 2017 and that Supernaked was the most fun and reliable bike I've ever owned! Perfect commuter, weekend canyon carver, 1,200 mile trip tourer , 2up machine, and with a cat delete pipe, a race filter, rearsets, brake pads and a reflash it was a helluva track bike, yes track bike, tighter layouts I got better times than my R1M , so much fun and whether u can wheelie or not , its a wheelie machine! Put it in B mode and TC3 and it's power wheelies for days. I've never tried a hypermotard but think it would be a blast too, loved this review.
Lolol the kill switch gag! In 2005-6 I had a Ducati 999R Fila replica and it was the shit back then BUT had this weird issue some electrical issue in sure but occasionally it would have no electrical power, uoudngo to start it and it would do nothing, the start button was like a dead switch, I had a buddy in our group of 60 bikes that loved to hit the kill switch, he knew with my 999R to hit it at stop lights because half the time it wouldn't start so I'd have to push it through the interesectikn and screw with it until it fired lol. Used to drive me nuts but now a fond memory. He was my US Marine brother killed in Afghanistan by an IED while on Patrol ,..fond memories and glad to see Ducati has solved that start issue. Ps it wasn't a neutral thing.
If this one does not have issues like the past models I am definitely upgrading from my 821 SP . Definitely the most fun daily bike ! I get to go to college everyday on mine and it’s my pleasure of the day !
I have a 2016 SP and have no issues with hard launches from a stop. My complaints would be with missed shifts and the seat locking you into one position. I'm not optimistic that the gearbox has gotten much better on this one but the gearbox on mine is not bad enough to prevent me from considering buying this new version. I suspect the dual exhaust provides better sound options from the aftermarket.
It's my dream one day riding my own Hypermortard. In Brazil there isn't options in this bike model, and in these days for this reason I own a Yamaha 250X year 2008.
Lol, Zack with the killswitch :D wish he hadn't disappeared behind the Motortrend paywall :( (i understand it but it still makes me sad) - Nice review btw Mr Statham. How I want one, how I know it is completely the wrong bike for my commute (34miles each way along the A1) but I still covet it..
