Glad I found this video, I commute from Kent into London every day on my Honda CB650R and I’ve seen a couple of these bikes around, they look amazing. Definitely on my list of possible bikes to look at when I upgrade. Also I recognise most of those roads you were on, I grew up in Waterlooville. Good stuff sir, keep it up 👍
Greetings from a fellow 950 owner. Great & informative video, but there's some correction: the 1st level ABS does not deactivate the cornering & rear ABS, it only reduce the level of intrusion (like letting you slide out a bit entering a corner stomping on the pedal, but as soon as you starting to wash out, the ABS kick in). And 1 small thing, if you mainly ride smaller twisties, change to a 14t front sprocket, I did mine and it works a treat. Yes it robs some of the top speed, but throttle action gets much better & wheelies come at less effort than before.
Thanks for the great review! I’ve owned many Multistradas and have slowly transitioned from sport touring to track days. Currently run an Aprilia RS660 but I miss the power punch of a L-twin and Ducati sexiness. This may be the Goldilocks I’ve been searching for.
Just submitted to your channel very well done I own a 2017 standard 939 and also a factory Aprillia tuono 1100 factory 2019 and I must say I love my Ducati hypermoto

Thank you for an excellent video. Keep up the good work. You have a great style. Keep the videos coming. I'm very sure you'll grow your following. Also thank you for the comprehensive review of the hyper. I'm on the fence about what to get. Previous bike was a s2r monster. Looking for something different.
You look professional Tom I thought you had thousands of subs. You will be at the top soon I promise. But I’m contemplating on a second bike it’s between the ktm 890duke r or the Ducati hypermotard. I’m interested in going for longer rides so I’m excited to see your review on a longer ride on the hypermotard
Thanks for that comment. I'm really enjoying the learning process. I tool the 890 for a test ride. I was gonna make a short video on other bikes i considered and why I decided on the hyper. The 890 was a very fun bike to ride but felt really small in comparison. The torque on the hyper pushed me to the ducati 👌 Both amazing bike and I'm sure you won't regret either decision 👍
Nice review Tommy. I just purchased a lightly used 2020 Hyper SP back in June and agree with all your comments. I flew out and rode it home 600 miles and actually found it pretty comfortable for the trip. Besides the lack of wind protection, the riding position makes it easy to spend a day in the saddle. Curious how you feel about it after your long trip. Also, I was planning on getting the Zard GT slip ons. I think they are a bit quieter than the model you have and I think they have removable DB killers. Wondering if you have an opinion or have ever heard those in person. Thanks!
Not sure on the zard gt slip ons but something worth considering for uk track days! 600 miles! That's definitely a long distance test, such a good all round beast 👌
Nice video - am seriously thinking of buying an SP next year for a trip to mugello - I know it’s got no screen but I love supermoto bikes so I will live - any tips for me ?
Have a 2018 thruxton R but have been itching for this bike. It’s a bit taller but not impossible bike to balance Looking forward to the next video. I prefer to own my bikes till I run them into the ground but I’m not sure how the hypermotard does in that regards
The hyper is a tall bike. Nothing a bum slide to the left can't fix at the traffic lights. The first thing I done when I purchased the bike was put a load of crash protection on it. The Thruxton is a beautiful bike. Different animal to the hyper, not had the pleasure in riding one yet but I bet its nice
@@tommychapman4650 it seems to me that the giggle factor with the hypermotard is what wins most riders over I live in TX where it’s flat and hot mostly throughout the year so the thruxton although being a beautiful bike lacks the “making you feel like a kid riding a BMX” feeling
@@frankiej4128 it also makes you act like a kid. I find that it makes me ride slower as I'm always wanting to make space to have fun and improve my wheelies 😆 Every roundabout is fun. I’m thinking of changing my 20 S1000R, it has a rear set riding position as standard, so my question is, does the Hyper have the same position, or does it need rear sets, as the new MT09SP has that said position also?
Great video tommy, I live in Gosport so noticed your a local guy , I'm in process of purchasing this bike myself this weekend , would like to pick your brains if poss, would you mind me contacting you in some form ? Many thanks Gary

With the dtc and dwc set to off how easy is the bike to power wheelie in 2nd and 3rd gear? What revs ect is best to give it some? I own the standard model and it's by far the best bike I've ever owned
It goes without saying first gear is very twitchy and easy to come up. I'm far from an expert but love playing with 2nd gear and just pulling on the bars and up she comes.
