This was enjoyable! I have to apologise I tend to watch art videos while I’m cooking dinner and end up not commenting. But I always enjoy hearing your insights. Usually I’m standing there nodding like YUP
I just wrote a comment on another video saying i don't go out anymore because i get sick from the sun but when you said that being outside affects your health, now I'm thinking it's because I don't go out enough! I love all of these vlogs, the scenery where you live is gorgeous!!thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to make them. 💕💕 I could never go out to draw because I'm scared people would approach me lol. And my hand always starts shaking when someone watches me draw/paint
I always get so nervous to paint in public. I love that you made this and are giving people motivation to do the same!! Also love all my people of color doing art on youtube!! Subbed all day sis, and keep up the dope work!!
Nice tips. Thank you. That pencil looks so fun! I've never seen one before. I'm not an artist, I'm a watercolor dabbler, 😊 but last year I braved plein air. My favorite place is an area where people go to bird watch. You can drive around, so I often just sit in my truck and paint. That way no one can watch me. 😄
@@SketchesnScrubs Oh, I see now that there's an extra weird emoji that snuck in at the end, that was not intentional! 😂 I'm definitely enjoying your videos, I'm happy I found you! Thank you, and right back at you! xx
We have a state park near us surrounded by our enormous lake. Love to paint there! I’ve been enjoying painting tiny things lately. If you just stop and look at and around your feet for a few minutes you can see some amazing sketchbook fodder to capture 😊
My favorite place to create is in my art studio! Second to that would be when I'm alone in my camp trailer. I love that time. Very enjoyable video, thank you!
Plein air from you is the best!!! I live in a tiny cottage on Lake Barkley; in the woods away from people - 20 miles from a grocery. Lots of plein air opportunities for being creative :)
My favorite place to sketch or do Plein Air is around my front yard boardwalk. I usually paint the various birds, bugs & insects, flowers, and the cows & calves.
For the most part, I love creating at my desk. It is quiet there. I get easily distracted and rarely finish my work when I'm outside. I do admire those that art in the wild. Tfs
As soon as I saw that Artraveller I had to stop the video and look it up! I love art supplies and figuring out good ways to take my materials outside and/or traveling. I hope you will do a video soon on your setup with watercolors. Can you carry everything in that? I have lately made a folding lap board from a 9x12” piece of foam board and white duct tape and use it with magnet clips for my metal watercolor palette and clip-on water cups. As to whether I am nervous about working in public, it has never really bothered me, which surprised me because I have a fear of public speaking and that sort of thing. I do work in small sketchbooks which perhaps make me less obvious. I’ve had some wonderful conversations with interested people.
Oh I feel you on the indecisiveness. What sketchbook and pens? Takes me all day to decide. Should I apply for that job across the country? Already done 😂
@@SketchesnScrubs Lock out all persons with the slightest judgement and, god forbid, a suggestion! I’m joking. Actually to keep my 5 year old granddaughter out of my way!
I definitely find. I create better locally has although I have lofty plans when I travel I never really end up painting much 🙁 I do also take lots of pictures though so I can recreate the scene at home.
Took a break from art for about 2 months. Could not stand the sight of art supplies, much less hold a pen without shivering. But now the joy is slowly coming back and your video is the first art related thing i watched in this period. It was fun and inspirational. I like making art outside though I really don't like people watching me haha. Also, i love those rainbow pens. Have one also 🥰
Youve actually inspired me to start drawing again 40 years after school. So thank you. At the minute im just literally drawing objects in my house But definitely planning on going out when it cools down (currently in Riyadh) so huge thank you
Wow where did you get the art traveler bag? I’ve been searching. Absolutely love your chit chat relaxing video. Im definitely going to go back and watch the playlist! Would love a tour of your art bag and it’s supplies in the near future 🥰😊 until next time my friend, happy creating!
i tried painting outside in our garden but the neighbours were there too so it was a bit uncomfortable because i rarely show others what i do. i think i still prefer my room lol
I haven’t tempted being outside yet, in part because I’m in a wheelchair and don’t have much movement in my arms. The sort of water colour painting outside it’s a bit scary but I have packed ready for anything. That brings its own problems like by the bag is so heavy. It’s just a bit of a worry as to where I could put things on, particularly water. I will be very interested to catch On some of the things you talked about in this video, for instance, you mention the use of magnets. Are the ones we have quite powerful and that they hold water if I attached the travel bottle to them do you think?
By the way, I wouldn’t consider myself being an artist, since I am extremely insecure about if I am “good enough to paint/draw in public”. I would -unfortunately- consider myself an art supply collector, though. Same kind of subject that @creating cute art recently talked about in her video. Thinking: “with this palette (paper/pen/pencil/brush...you name it) I will paint outside”...I buy it-and guess what... So, I really love the idea of Miranda Watson to “use up a palette (or other art supply)”. And maybe I would even use up one thing “outside”. 😄
Since you just mentioned it, I wanted to ask you for a while what your specialty is as a doctor. Just interested, because I’m a specialist for orthopedics and trauma surgery:-) -and in case you forgot...I’m the one with the Lamy Safari 😄
I’m in Germany. The best art-related thing about that is, I think, that we get Schmincke colors “KIND OF cheap” 🤣 I make homemade watercolors as well. I have one color that I named “Laguna”-based on the water of Venice. If I can find a picture of it or a painting with it, I’ll put it up on my Instagram and let you know.

My favourite place to paint/create is definitely in bed, being in a comfortable space definitely helps those creative juices flow 😄

What a beautiful video!!🤗❤️🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️ Favorite place is my studio!!
I loved the cafe series! I totally got it when you said you are right there with big decisions, but little details it’s harder!

Thank you so much ChuckLee! Painting outdoors certainly takes some getting used to but it’s a lot of fun ❤️

I bought that same multi color pencil years ago, and stowed it away! I’m going to dig it out this week!

There's a stone circle not far from home & I love to go there and paint at sunset.
Really appreciate your videos, very fun to watch and listen to : )
I was inspired to buy one of those multicolored lead pencils for myself to sketch with after watching you use yours ☺️

Do you use fountain pens? They are great for urban sketching. I will be teaching an online class soon all about how to use and maintain them..
