Amazing footage and art works by Urbanites!😂 I would choice watercolor( a mix of DS, Sennelier and QoR) and pens. Glad you had a fun time with Sarah and group! 🥰🤩💜🤘🏾🙏🏾
Thank you so much Sarah! I had such a lovely time lol as you predicted it was a lot of videos of either laughing or figuring out the camera :D but a wonderful glimpse into an awesome day nonetheless x
Sarah, your workshop had to be so lovely, how jealuse I am!! I would like to ask you if you could share the name/IG of the artist who shows her sketchbook at 10:08? I love those landscape. Thank you!!
What a great urban sketching meet-up... beaming smiles all round, irregardless of wind-factor, had me smiling. I love Sarah Burns and I'm working my way through her annual gouache subscriptions boxes... lucky, lucky, me! 😊 I remember your original Tower Bridge sketch, Sketches... I've still got those magic multicolour pencils on my wishlist two years later, haha! All the spreads are beautiful... I so love the fun and laughter when you all do the laydown side-by-side. Very inspiring and love that you are a 'fair weather sketcher'... I feel you! I'm a 'through the car window screen' sketcher for 4-5 months of the year!!! Superb, fun, informative, inspiring Vlog! Loved every second of it! 💕💕
I belong to a local sketching group, and I love the feeling of cameraderie. I love seeing all of you having fun together, and the work everyone produced was wonderful! Thanks also for the tips about the magnetic strips to hold the travel paintbox. Very helpful!
This vlog is amazing and it makes me smile while watching because of all the laughing people and the good mood of your videos. Thanks to Sarah that I found your channel ❤ and I’m excited to watch all your videos now🎉. Greetings from Germany 🙋🏼♀️
I am fairly new to gouache and I'm loving it. I think I'll probably start using it for Plein air when I get outside more next year. Thank you for sharing your day!
Hello! I am one of Sarah’s patreons and I discovered your channel from one of her recent videos that included this meetup. I love your sketch of the buildings and the gorgeous vivid colors! I’m happy to have another great artist to follow. I live in the US and I’m drawn to artists in the UK. I dream of living in Scotland which is how I discovered Sarah. I mainly paint with acrylic and I’m trying to expand into gouache and water color and really love watching videos of people painting with those two mediums. Look forward to getting to know you through your videos! ☺️
What a great time! I love how the wind was giving its own sketchbook tour 🤩 Watercolor, gouache, and pen and ink are always my go-tos. I've been getting into tinted graphite lately.
I think neocolor IIs would be fun! 🖍 I loved the colorful fluff around her hood on her coat!! 🥰 She was so colorful! 🌈 A woman after my own heart!! 💞 Those blue buildings, while very different and striking against the historic buildings around them, are beautiful and artistic!! 💙 I love that you used the multicolor pencils to sketch with! 😍 Where to use them is a challenge for me, but I adore the color combos!! 🤗 That sketch turned out stunning! 📚 You all created awesome and unique art pieces!! 🎨 How fun, and thank you for sharing scenes of London!! 🫂
Hey….I just met Sarah Burns at the Seattle plein air meetup…….but what is weirder is I just found your channel about 4 days ago and subscribed. So my worlds are colliding. Beautiful art and Sarah is great!! Thank you.
Such fun to see the two of you together, laughing, having fun, and freezing. I don't often do plein air or urban sketching but when I do I enjoy using two small palettes from two different creators on Etsy, ArtstoEmbers (with Daniel Smith WCs) and StaceyRomanArt (for my A Gallo WCs). I usually use these as my travel palettes also. Thanks for sharing.
That looks like such a fun day - thanks for letting us (RUclips) tag along 😊 i always bring far too much with me if I go outside to sketch, but ink and maybe watercolour is usually what I end up using 😊
Love all of the different styles! My go to supplies for on location sketching are an ArtToolkit demi palette, water brush, mechanical pencil, and waterproof fountain pen. I’m practicing laying down sketches in pen first though so I can just nix the pencil.
The supply I’ll use sketching outdoors is Tombow brush pens + Caran D’Ache mixing palette + water brush. But I’m curious to buy & try the Koh-i-Noor multicolor pencil like you showed here!
A wonderful day out with your friends and the bridge itself is a very inspiring location for a beautiful artwork. Mrs. Burns's paintings have really improved, they are very impressive, like the other sketchbooks too. Thanks for upload, pretty hair lady😊😊
I joined an urban sketching group in our area and love it. My current favourite items are ink pens and watercolour. I love to see at the end how everyone’s looks so different and learn so much
Before your next sketching trip to London, make an accordion sketchbook. It is so easy and you can chose the paper. You can make amazing panoramas. Love your videos.
What a wonderful day with like minded people and so lovely to see you and Sarah together..I love both your channels ..beautiful art from all of you ❤😊..I was gifted the Roman Szmall urban palette for my birthday last year but haven’t plucked up the nerve to try painting in public or outside 😂🫣
I've been following Sarah Burns two RUclips channels for several years now. It's because of her post about your video on her Instagram that led me here. OMG, Sarah got to draw a portion of Shakespeare Globe Theater! That's so cool! There are so many awesome sketchers represented here. i am now a Subscriber to Sketches.n.Scrubs. I cant wait to see more of your content 😊
I enjoyed this so much, and perhaps it's no surprise but what made me really laugh was the clips of you and Sarah just laughing into the camera for no apparent reason. 😂 Yes, fellow overpacker here. I'm still bringing my entire etchr field case with watercolors and such even though I've only been using a single pen and tiny sketchbook... That's not even in the field case. 😅 Here it's the opposite... It gets hotter and hotter the longer you sketch. 😅 Also love that dreamy, pastel, rained on painting that she did. I could have sworn the rain made it better! 😂
Kremer watercolours or Shinhan Pass. Loved this video especially the bit where you discuss your set up, as it gave me for the first time an idea of what might be useful for me. I have watched a lot about Urban Sketching but am in a wheelchair and haven’t got a great lap! I have watched Teoh for quite some years, especially during a period of being bedbound, when acquiring supplies kept me connected to art, so now I am trying to use what I have! My views at home are not great unless I am in the garden, this year has been sooooooo cold and rainy! So urban sketching is calling me again. I think you may have been using a fude pen if so it’s my favourite! I have two and recently saw them in pink white and brown and like the idea of carrying them with different colour inks. Great video with lots to think about, including Sarah’s work on toned paper, really lovely, and your other sketchers.
I would love to use a combination of my Watercolors, Gouache, & a Black Ink Fountain Pen. Looks like you all had a blast & wonderful day together. So thrilled to see both of my favorite gouache artists get together for a Plein Air adventure! Thank you for sharing this wonderful video!
I limit myself outdoors extremely. Usually just a pencil, maybe two brush pens. I tried dried gouache once but it's just too much hassle, especially if I am alone. Small hardcover sketchbook, preferably not bright white paper. It was fun watching Sarah's video and going like "hang on, I know that girl" 😂
I'm a new subscriber🎉! I heard about you over on Sarah's channel. I'm delighted to have found you and I look forward to following you along with your 🎨 🖌️ art journey 💞!
Such a fun video! Loved seeing everyone’s sketchbook art! Hmm.. I’d love to try using a fountain pen with either sepia or black ink outdoors. Then painting it with watercolors. New subbie to your channel! Love your videos! 💜🥰
Thank you for watching! It was so lovely to meet you and I am still impressed by how quick you were, and that it was your first time. I hope you are well x
Great video, what fun! Lovely to see my old hometown❤, your sketches are remarkable, and your colour choices are to die for. so good to see this meeting of like-minded people. All are fabulous in their own right. If I did do urban sketching, which I don't 😅 chances are I would take a suitcase full of just in case supplies 😅❤ btw I took some screenshots. Thanks for sharing ❤
I haven’t yet tried sketching outdoors, but I think I would stick with pencil or water.soluble graphite to start. I want to try plein air sketching with gouache at some point, though!
This looks so much fun, love Sarah's work, thank you so much for sharing. Could you please tell me the name of the artist at 10:08 ? I really love those landscapes. ❤❤
Im so jealous of all the groups of sketchers i see!!! I have searched for groups in my area and can never find any. Maybe ill start one myself. P.S. anyone in the chas wv area?
I have the same problem. There’s a group in my area but they seem to only post at super short notice if they bother at all. Often it’s after they’ve been out. If you start your group I would recommend a widely viewable calendar, not one hidden behind Facebook or something. A calendar that can be added to, and with long range events events you may need to cancel , is far better than one where you only put an event up two days before and no one is ever free.
Very good point :P lol though I think that even though most of us were probably introverts, there's something nice about spending time with other artists from time to time. Thank you for watching Karen x

Ball point pen + Watercolor👩🏼🎨 and outdoors in the cold is tricky but fun heating handwarmer🔥 and hot drinks ☕🫖
So much beautiful art. It looks like a fun day. Thanks for taking us along with you!
Thanks for watching x
What a wonderful day with like minded people and so lovely to see you and Sarah together..I love both your channels ..beautiful art from all of you ❤😊
I’m amazed you made such a lovely vlog with all the clips you took! I thought for sure we created madness 😂 but it was so much fun!!!
And your sketches were so fab!
Thank you so much Sarah! I had such a lovely time lol as you predicted it was a lot of videos of either laughing or figuring out the camera :D but a wonderful glimpse into an awesome day nonetheless x

Me too x

Oh, I really love this video! I, also, Love Sarah!
I admire your ability to draw and paint buildings with such ease. I'm trying to get better at it myself. I just love your painting style 💜
I am fairly new to gouache and I'm loving it. I think I'll probably start using it for Plein air when I get outside more next year. Thank you for sharing your day!

Lool I quite enjoyed that too :P ahhh, I haven't used tinted graphite - thank you for sharing x
I really like watercolour pencils, crayons and anything that’s water soluble to sketch with.
Thanks for the vlog. Looks like it was a fab time. ❤
Thank you for watching! It really was x
I love seeing the variety of styles that come out of group urban sketching sessions. What a fun time!
The whole group is SO CUTE! All the laughter and the Ooohs and Aaaahs! Great sketches! Thank you!

Awww! Thank you so much for watching and your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed it - here's to even more laughter and an awesome weekend x x

Wow, what fun to tag along (via RUclips) on your adventure. Thank you for sharing this!🙂
ohhh I have my Roman Szmal travel palette that I love to use! Urban sketching kit + a few other RS colors + a gold. Loved watching you and Sarah!

Oh my god that looks like so much fun 😭😭😭😭😭 I haven’t seen so many humans in a public area not on their phone since before Covid lol
Thank you! It was truly wonderful x
So fun to see you and Sara too. Nice sketches by all
Thank you! 💙
Lately enjoying charcoal and pastel pencils in Kraft sketchbook. 🙋🏼♀️🌻🇨🇦
Thank you for watching and sharing! ❤️
I think my favorite sketching “tool” was the dance, with the laughter a close second! 💃🏻😂💃🏻
😂😂😂 x
Good choice! xx
Pentel Aquash Brushes are an absolute must for me now when painting in location

Loved this.

Looks like a fun day. Glad you enjoyed yourself 😊
soo many giggles😀 and so much great art from everyone there!
Two of my favourite urban sketch artists! I think my favourite thing to use to sketch outdoors is a pen - micron or a fude. Mx

My observation is, urban sketchers are very sociable people. They enjoy getting out of the “isolated “ studio. Just sayin💜💙💚
Very good point :P lol though I think that even though most of us were probably introverts, there's something nice about spending time with other artists from time to time. Thank you for watching Karen x
