Men need a relaxing and supportive place to share guy thoughts. McMahon's Watch Bar is as good a place as any.

Cerebral, introspective, philosophical, genuine watch content comes from one place on RUclips. That's why I keep coming back.

McMahon, I’d be happy to watch regardless of what you talk about. We’re here for you, not the watches.
I’ve written for a website for the last 6 years. There’s writing and editing involved, but also photography, videography, and backend search engine optimization. Long story short, challenging myself to make more of that has been a fun goal. I understand the desire to evolve the YT channel. Whatever you decide to do, I’ll be along for the ride.

I love your channel, McMahon. I keep coming back because of your honesty and humor and unique perspective on the hobby/addiction. You have this crazy way of breaking things down and making analogies that I really appreciate. 😊 It makes me reflect on my own attitudes towards the hobby and I get a laugh when I realize I think the same way about it as you and all the other watch obsessives here.

I’m a long term watch enthusiast / addict too. Thanks to you I’ve downsized considerably, and started really thinking about things that matter in my life besides watches. You might not have the channel we want, but you have the channel we need!

I never watch your episodes, I always listen to them on headphones doing chores. Talk about whatever you want and don't enforce connections to watches if there aren't any. I will for sure keep on listening. 👍

Here’s the thing, I’ve noticed you continuously mention you need new watches going in and out to stay relevant. I disagree, I believe you can stay relevant even with a one watch collection. It’s all about the content you’re recording. You’ve succeeded in creating an entertaining RUclips channel! Keep it up! You’ve got this man, you’re awesome!

Enjoy your trip Jeff, I would just say to keep using YT as an outlet to share your thoughts and express your creativity. Don't worry about the audience, they'll find you when they're ready to. I do like the idea of reclassifying toward video essays though, it might be a more organic fit and open up a new phase for the channel. One idea, if you did go down that route might be to checkout those whiteboard-style animation generating tools, they even have free ones, and I could imagine with your teaching background that it might end-up being a good fit.
I've loved your content as-is but I totally understand the urge to evolve over time and expand the format.

We enjoy your musings. New ideas will come when they come, dont sweat it. I also still enjoy "old style" RUclips content like this. No need for fancy editing. Maybe you could discuss how to approach how to write and the watch hobby, or approaches to writing generally

The Tuna always looks great, it's the 1Seiko I want to add to my collection. Lastly, what I love about your channel is that it's never 1 dimensional. I never walk away empty, great content.

I came for the watches but I stayed for the stories and the humor. Hope you keep making these videos. The topics fit very well to the stage of watch collecting where I am at. Every other watch channel only wants to provoke you to buy new stuff but I don't see the point in that anymore. I just want to sit back and enjoy the hobby without new purchases.

I found it interesting when you were exploring the tension between entry level luxury watches (which you longed for!) like Breitling and the more mid level Citizen and Seiko watches. Videos about watches priced from 1000.00 to 3500.00. I was in the same sphere as you at that point!

I think your strength and uniqueness is watch philosophy, that is, you're sharing your mind about watches and watch collecting. Even if you don't have any new watches and all your major milestones are already behind you, you can still philosophy about the hobby in a very intelligent, intuitive and entertaing way. Many people just share specs, experiences, and technical staff about watches. But your channel is really unique. You're the only watch philosopher I can think of on RUclips.

You should consider loaning some watches from others, primarily non Japanese watches. That way you are not committing to any new purchase, hence not lowering your watch 'potency'. On the flip side you get to experience different watches from different brands, and the audience also gets their watch content dose. It will also be interesting for you to explore other varieties (maybe even micro brands),and we get to see a review from the perspective of a Japanese diver watch lover.

Honestly, I don't really care about things like editing and music. I value stories, opinions, and experiences. After around 8 years of watching watches on RUclips, I can say your channel is still my favorite watch- related one.

Dear Jeff, your content is awesome and i really love it. It is refreshing compared to the rest of watch RUclips. Your passion for Seiko Divers is unique and interesting. We come because of the watches, but stay for your personality and Essay style Videos. If you feel fatigued, take a small break from watch Videos. But a lot of people Love your content. I would watch you also with a one watch collection of an Umera only. All the best!

Excellent content. Maybe this is all part of the collection journey, the part where nothing happens for a while and you stick with your collection before you thin it out again. I believe that 3 watches is the magic number.

I have a radical idea. Abandon the watch niche for a few weeks and just talk about random life stuff that you're interested in. In fact, challenge yourself to not even mention watches in any video for a while. Just see what happens.
Edit: Men need positive role models. I'm not saying this should be a "men's advice" channel but you're someone who can have an impact that has nothing to do with watches. Cheers.

You and i have accomplished peak success with youtube. People dont understand just how impressive 10k subscribers is when you're independent, unsponsored, unpaid, and unadvertised. Its a testament to your content. I guess do with that what you will. For what its worth, people stick around for Jeff and not for watches.
