Part two of the Bat'leth build! Cutting metal, welding it all together, and grinding.
I use an angle grinder and an oxy-acetylene torch to fabricate the remaining pieces and combine them with the forged portions from part 1.
The next video will deal with the one biggest problem. The problem that was the entire reason I took this project on. How would I even heat treat such a ridiculous sword? Its huge! And not in the normal large sword kinda dimensions!

The way all the pieces of it fit together really delights me. (Also all crafty videos should come with cameos by Pusheen tbh.)

Right? It was just so satisfying with the nice metal click as each one slid into place.

I have not seen anyone gas weld steel in a very long time. There is a cool new thing you may want to look into, it's called MIG welding. And an even cooler new thing is called TIG welding. You may want to look into them.

Gotta work with what's available at the time. I've done welding and metalwork professionally (uncertified, non-structural. I have welded, I am not a welder) So I use MiG all the time. Saving up for a multi-process machine so I can add TiG to my repertoire.

most of my grinder guards have been removed or modified. Some I have cut down just enough to keep the fingers safe.

This was really cool - I'm excited for the next part! Also, I completely agree with your assessment of the ice cream truck jingle, that's creepy as shit

I’ve bumped a grinder a couple of times. There is no faster way to lose every layer of skin. Well maybe.

It’s definitely up there. But even that’s not too bad - imagine a grinding disk shattering. The way they are usually held, it’s either your belly or your pelvis in the plane of rotation. And maybe that’s almost never gonna happen. But it only has to happen once.
