You gotta admit, Buck Dharma, the lead guitarist is one BMF !
My all time favorite guitar player
Absolutely among the very best, but doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Hell yes, a real fine player and always looked forward to BUCK'S BOOGIE when we went to see them live.
and yet he's got a whopping 7.8K followers on his RUclips channel... Taylor Swift? 10M... this is the world we live in.
Oh my goodness!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!! You are the man for reacting to this song! One of my faves by BOC!
Right? It's like the ultimate BOC joint. It's got all the various elements that are so specific to BOC. Oddly, it's not very well know. But I have always loved this song since the summer of 1979.
Great band, Great song off an underrated album. Thanks.
I agree 100% when I listen to this album I have to listen to it in its entirely!
aye. great band.
got to see them back in 91? at the Thunderbird ! (now burnt down) Seating 350 max...concert 600 plus and 200 out side smoking and drinking !!!! Crazy night for all !!!
Awesome show!!!!!
What is special about BOC is they carry 60's Psychedelia into the 70's, many 60's bands didn't. They also had some very esoteric lyrical adventures that set them apart from the rest.
Esoteric defines the song Astronomy.
They are still carrying it in 2022.
Yep. Very intelligent band. Thinking man's band. Not to be confused with heavy metal bands who have unintelligible lyrics and two chord tunes.
If you listen to some of their songs from their Stalk Forrest Group and Soft White Underbelly days, you'll see even more of their psychedelic side.
Another beautiful, amazing song from BOC. Buck singing here. Tambourine? What?
Great choice.. Buck Dharma sings this one, seen them do it Live a few times.. 3 songs to request, I will go with "E.T.I", "Flaming Telepaths"(with intro), and "Stairway To the Stars"..
I've always loved these guy's
Deadline from BOC is a great song the mood of the song makes it great.
Love Deadline!
BOC played this live at a small theater venue here in New Hampshire just a couple of years ago.
I'm glad to see he reacts to a lot of BOC tunes. They've been my fav. band since 1980.
"Astronomy" - either the studio version or the live version from Some Enchanted Evening.
"Veteran of the Psychic Wars" - the live version from 1981.
"The Subhuman" - the live version from On Your Feet or on Your Knees.
I appreciate that you don't interrupt the song and save your comments for the end. Well done!
Great Point😎
I freakin wore this album out...
Yeah, dude! This is one of my all-time favourite BOC joints, and it's so deep-cut.
MORE BLUE OYSTER CULT!!!!!
BTW, the album cover of the “Mirrors” album on the screen (on which “The Vigil” was released) is actually a painting not a photograph. 🤔
very underrated album in the bocverse.
fantastic album for those long drive east from the pacific.
doesn't matter if your from cali, ore or wash. You're going to drive through some hours of desert at some point.
Love BOC. Just about every album they released had a different feel to it.
That's what made them so great. Every album sounded different than the last. Every song different also with different singers and song writers. Amazing band.
I cannot believe you are doing this song!!! Outstanding song off my favorite BOC album! I love every song off this album. An album that never got its due credit! This song just kicks ass! Dr. Music is just as good off this album.
@Zoey The Savannah yes it was! And die hard BOC fans hated it! I loved every song off it! It was in no way a pop album. Dr. Music and the Vigil alone blows that stupid monicker out of the water. I love Moon Crazy, Your not the one I was looking for, I am the storm. I have read that In Thee was the best of the album. NFW! The Vigil and Dr. Music are much better songs! The Great Sun Jester also good. Always loved Mirrors
This band is AKA Great White Underbelly! Seen them at a tavern like venue in Tacoma under that name
@@LesSmith45 They've been using that name for club gigs since calling themselves BOC (started on Long Island NY at Stony Brook)....
@Zoey The Savannah A ridiculous way to describe one of their best albums in my view.
I just saw them live in July and they played this song....I done lost my mind. LOL!
This has got to be one of the busiest slow songs I've ever heard.
Love it.
14 th studio album "Curse of the Hidden Mirror" 2001 featured Bobby Rondinelli on drums (Rainbow, Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath), listen to "Dance On Stilts" and "Out Of The Darkness" last album before the new 2020 "The Symbol Remains" 20 yrs later, "Edge of The World" "Stand and Fight" "The Alchemist"
GOOD GOD IVE FORGOTTEN THIS SONG !!!! TY FOR REACTING TO IT!!!!!
Masterpiece! Heavyweight but yet smooth, everything so chrystal clear perfection.
Standing at night gazing up the sky (especially wintertime) with a clear moon this song is my private rocket ♥
Except the Groove, the break and following at 6:16 can make me fell a tear, so beautiful and the guitarplay all through the song
is so on spot.
What a great comment. Perfectly said.
Great stuff Wilburn, love this band and love your channel!
Finley somebody reacts to The Vigil - B.O.C. For me it's my Fav.
Who’s Finley?
If you ever get a chance do E.T.I. by Blue Oyster Cult. Great song.
"Mirrors," 1979 was an odd album for BÖC.
If drums are your gig, try their studio version of "The Red and The Black" from their 1973 "Tyranny and Mvtation". Stellar!
Minutemen cover TRandTB
YES i've been asking for that one for a long time...and I"ve got a whip baby !!!
Your music mirrors your mind
ELP Tank
Tyranny and Mutation is insane
What a perfect album
I love BOC but I have never heard this song and I really like it. You've reacted to quite a few songs by Blue Oyster Cult, but only a few of their biggest hits. Please, react to "Burnin' For You" or "Cities on Flame With Rock and Roll" or "I Love the Night," all of which you will love, Chod.
100% agree
This song is so amazing from the album Mirrors which is often overlooked but every song is AMAZING!
100% agree with all these comments. Another to try is "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" either off Fire of Unknown Origin or their 1981 live album with epic solo.
YEAH WILBURN w/ the WORD OF THE DAY, "Conversate" MY MAN..haven't heard that since a NUN slapped my hand!!
PEACE, WIL B.
You should play "The Golden Age of Leather" next from BOC. It's another epic song with a great story
May as well try “Godzilla” live. Always brought the house down back in the day.
Congratulations on 30K!!! Here's 3 more BOC suggestions: Lips in the Hills, The Marshal Plan, and Joan Crawford Has Risen From The Grave. Rock On, Man!!!
Lips in the Hills
This one Rocks
Luv your reactions Chod !!!
For Halloween you could do "Joan Crawford"..
This song always reminded me of the movie "Phantasm."
😊👍
i like this song hey now
hi chod i enjoy your site i get to see videos inbetween treatments thank you im a stevie ray fan ,
Gratz on hitting 30k. Here’s to next 30. You deserve it.
You like drums...ETI live. Albert at his best.
I think you should try "Monsters" from BOC at some point. They take over a space ship and things happen.
😎
Yourmusic mirrors your mind
Please review the song Tank by ELP You'll experience Carl Palmer at his drum-rolling best!
Great Reaction to BOC
So many Amazing Songs
Check out Cities On Flame
Thanks
Drummer Albert Bouchard destroys the kit - Cagey Cretins for the win.
Two words for the next reaction. Black Blade.
THIS!!!!!
Black Blade is epic!
I see your two words, and I call: Cagey Cretins.
@@labluvver I see your two words and I call Flaming Telepaths.
@@Mark39251 I'll see your 2 words and call Harvest Moon. 🌙
Oh wait a minute this is one year ago erk
You should check out a story album by Harry Nielsen "the point" one of the best story albums I've ever heard
Where you been homeschool man I thought you vanished anyway I guess you're still here
no tamborine...not sure which sound you are talking about...
this is THE WORST of BOC... dead muzak. I loved the BOC, esp 1st 4 albums including Live/"on your feet...." There were still some good tunes left in the band from "AGENTS" Album, but the THRILL WAS GONE, esp. after the BOUCHARD Bros. left the band.
Next should be one of Joe Bouchard's tunes: Celestial the Queen.
