My dad used to sing and he sounded just like Sam. Today my dad would have been 76 but Covid took his last breath. Happy birthday dad… from your baby girl. I came here to hear my dad’s voice! Both are resting in peace!
You must have wonderful memories of your father. I can only imagine how special it must have been to grow up listening to his soulful voice. I'm very sorry for your loss.
So sorry for your loss 🙏 I am so glad your can find comfort in hearing Sam's voice and remember your Dad. Those are very special. Love and hugs from Boston.💗
I watched the Apple series Hijack and heard this song. I thought I had heard all Sam Cook's songs. I love this song and can't stop listening to it. There is nothing like listening to the old songs. Such sweet memories and heartache but in a good way.
Hah, that’s what brought me here too!! The series Night Sky also had an episode with one of Sam’s songs “that’s where it’s at” . Always makes me so happy to hear one of his other great songs when not expecting it.
SAM WAS A ONE OF A KIND, NAME A FUCKING NOTHER, THERE ISN'T.... You nor I ever did for anyone what Sam did and it's ok.....I am what I am as are you and so was he ... nothing to get upset about....
The true King of soul could take you to church just by humming a couple of bars.Lord knows I wish I could have seen and heard him but I was to young. Those were the days and a true artist. There will never be another Sam Cooke ......
Sam Cooke said in an interview he had to record blues to make more money. HIs gospel roots went with him in almost everything he did. He had the voice for anything.
Its hard not to hear blues in gospel. Dont forget they used to label it as the devil’s music. Because the men stayed out all saturday night en then proceed to skip church. Also the blue note in the blues scale used to be banned for being the devils tone.
+Matthew Miller ----Yes, two awesome singers/songwriters/musicians, gone in their prime, & unusual circumstances, 2 of the greats silenced 2 soon, thank God 4 yt, & the legacy they've left behind, have a Blessed one >>>>>
Sam your voice is just so melodious. A beautiful sound. You are missed very much. Wish you had remained with us making more beautiful soulful music. A tragedy tto loose you so young snd in such a terrible way. RIP.
Sam Cooke transported us, MADE us feel the emotions of the song. He lured us in by casting a magical spell with his voice. You just don't have that with the artist of today....will never be another Sam Cooke.
So many days since you went away I often think of you night and day But I know that someday, someday darling I won't be trouble no more Trouble, trouble and misery Is about to get the best of me But I know that someday, oh someday darling I won't be trouble no more I told you my story, I sang my song About you leaving baby, you know that's wrong But oh, someday, someday darling I won't be trouble no more
Sam Cooke Blessed with such an esquisite, enchanchanting voice that mezmerized the entire world. This is such rare find. Thanks for uploading this for the world to hear. People often hold treasures like this for themselves, but I say share, his legacy of only 13 short years in secular music.. A Black man in a class all by himself is who Sam Cooke was. I will continue to play his music often..
Rip sam dec 4 1964 its been 65 years and no one has come close to u a truly one of a kind.if u are looking down from heaven know that millions of people 💘
I own quite a few Sam Cooke 0:30 albums been a fan nearly all my life. (One of my mom's favorite artists) but somehow hadn't heard this song until I watched Hijack. The 1st 30 seconds made me shout out oh my God. What a completely underappreciated musical talent.
Trouble times may find you weepin' wailin' and cryin';if you live, surely, you will be dyin',watch out for haters who try to bring you down when you are flyin'
I have loved Sam since the days he sang gospel with the Soul Stirrers. When he began to sing R&B he blew me away. He has and always will be my favorite, Otis after him, then anyone else that can hold a note. Sam had the sweetest voice anyone could ever love.
truly sad the way he was murdered just trying to ask for help after he was robbed. one of the most soulful singer/songwriter/musicians of all time. Truly a great loss that left us way too soon.
What a great singer ! With such a talent that removed most of the persons who listened to him. He had nothing more to do in this world. He place up there, deside God.
His voice inspires and touches your soul to this day. There's been little notoriety, no big Hollywood films, no reinvestigation of his murder.... Truly an injustice and tragic end to such an iconic figure in music, and more importantly his stance for equality. Things have improved since then but we still have so much hatred in this world. One day people will realize we don't "have" a soul, we have a body... We ARE that soul. When you consider the title "King of Soul" there is no greater title.
That is not what the Bible says at all.Behold, all souls are mine,as the soul of the Father,so is the soul of the Son of God is mine. The soul that sinneth,it shall die.Ezekiel chapter 18 verse 4.
I played lead guitar for Charles Brown for 10 years, abd he told me about his friendship with Sam Cook. He was scheduled to do this session with Sam cook, but at the last minute he decided to go to the racetrack instead. Knowing Charles like I did, I know that he really didn't want to play second fiddle to some one he considered a newcimer. So when he didn't show, they called Ray Charles to play piano. The organ was a young Billy Preston. But they did the Charles Brown songs anyway.
Goddddddddddaaaaaaaammmmmmmnnnn this song makes me sad for so many reasons. It's content, the way its sang, and that Sam isn't around anymore and this is the closest I'll ever get to hearing him; on a laptop sitting on a couch :(
My dad used to sing and he sounded just like Sam. Today my dad would have been 76 but Covid took his last breath. Happy birthday dad… from your baby girl. I came here to hear my dad’s voice! Both are resting in peace!

The most powerful voice and vocally gifted man in this solar system.
I'm an 80s baby and soul music is still the only music that fills my soul with heartache and joy. Rest on King Sam.🤴🏿
yuuusss !!!
That man could sing "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and would still be able to move me. By far the purest and naturally soulful voice ever recorded.
jmitoke22: Speak TRUTH to power!!!

Absolutely beautiful voice. Missing you greatly Brother Sam Cooke 😢

Sam Cooke said in an interview he had to record blues to make more money. HIs gospel roots went with him in almost everything he did. He had the voice for anything.

Cooke was the father of soul, and he was a son of gospel
i love james brown but Sam is the father of soul hands down bar none...best to ever do it!!
The King of Soul.
Sam did almost every genre that was known back in his day.. His next project before death were to be an blues album.
100%
King of Soul, Forefather of Soul, a legend that had so much potential, such a shame his life was cut short...
You ain't lying Mike! ✊🏿
James Brown was the godfather of funk. He invented his own genre.
My god, this man could sing. I can't even hum as well as him. Always loved, the legend Sam Cooke :D
hummmmmmmmmm huhuhuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
😆😆😆
Trouble and misery is about to get the best of me. Oh yeah! One of the best line ever. Period.
Such a beautiful blues piece. It can't get no better than this.
Mimi Dudley . BABY. IT'S NOT BLUES. IT'S WHAT ALL OF IT REALLY IS....
The first few notes are just magical. Sam Cooke the smoothness and perfect timing. Plus a beautiful tone adds up to an amazing voice.

The blues explained in the first 8 bars.
Absolutely, positively sublime. It doesn't get much better than this.
Sam Cooke transported us, MADE us feel the emotions of the song. He lured us in by casting a magical spell with his voice. You just don't have that with the artist of today....will never be another Sam Cooke.
So many days since you went away
I often think of you night and day
But I know that someday, someday darling
I won't be trouble no more
Trouble, trouble and misery
Is about to get the best of me
But I know that someday, oh someday darling

I told you my story, I sang my song
About you leaving baby, you know that's wrong
But oh, someday, someday darling

Sam could sing labels on soup cans and make it BEAUTIFUL 🤩✌🌹🦋💜❣
The first few bars are heavenly. Thank you Sam for your beautiful voice and songs.

I spent 5 years of my life in the Mississippi Delta. It was there I got a love for the Blues. This the 1st I ever heard this beautiful song
Started watching the gorgeous Idris Elba on AppleTV in the series Hijack. This song was the very first scene. ❤
I own quite a few Sam Cooke 0:30 albums been a fan nearly all my life. (One of my mom's favorite artists) but somehow hadn't heard this song until I watched Hijack. The 1st 30 seconds made me shout out oh my God. What a completely underappreciated musical talent.

Sam Cooke. Singer. 'Nuff said. Gon' and sing now. Thanks for the upload, Nstoner111. RIP Sam Cooke and thank you. Blessings
Love the beginning of the song. No one can hum like Sam. The voice if an Angel.
The voice of God
Alexander Tang No, it’s the voice of Sam. It’s real, not a delusion.

Billy Preston on the organ. His trademark to our modern music world.
What a beautiful voice Sam had!
What a waste of talent and life to loose him so young.
Shame.
