One massive element to Anabolic steroids is that is boosts recovery time massively. Source: lived with gym rats who were cycling and some that weren’t; both equally fit. The ones that were would do 2-a-days no problem.

But any martial art like wrestling, boxing, muay thai, BJJ, takes so much out of you when you train twice a day. Not taking gear would have been objectively stupid.

The question isnt whether he used gear or not. The question is 'why *wouldn't* he take gear' to get in to shape? He's not a sportsman and he's not having a real fight. There's no blood tests to pass and there's no question of 'cheating' or not.
If he didn't take gear to get into shape, he made his preparation unnecessarily harder than it needed to be. Not taking gear would have been objectively stupid.
This is the thing I always say.
He’s not a competing athlete in a sport that requires clean hormone profiles, so there’s literally nothing wrong with taking performance enhancers.
People have such a negative outlook on gear because it’s improper use in sports that they lose objectivity.
