Even being about 5 or so levels under you can easily pull out wins by using your brain just a lil bit.

The bit with Quaxly...don't make me cry
Chock:this is a disaster
Me:have you seen security breach

Honestly was scared by all the reviews of the game before i got my copy, but after a day or two of running around in it and playing it I just realized that i was having fun and actually enjoying it. I mean i played sword when it released but it got super boring and i put it down for a few years only to try shiny hunting later, but this game even though admittedly it runs awfully for others but it hasnt really bothered me or i havnt really noticed it, it is still really fun.
plus i chose quaxly and named him Smoothie also honestly Palifin is one of if not my favorite pokemon now
You're part of the problem of why Pokemon will never get better.
@@sexyprincesswriter2362 I guess so, but id rather enjoy what we have than spend time complaining about what we could have. there is a lot of ways that game freak and nintendo in general could improve everything. i just feel like game freak needs reorganizing and new hires to try and tackle making better games
@@sexyprincesswriter2362 Youre part of the problem of why pokemon wont listen to fans
Interesting how the Nintendo IP first open world game is having more problems than Sonic's first open world game this year.
Thats because you're pokemon fan doesn't mean the game is good
I'm actually having a lot of fun with this game compared to sword and shield so was shocked to see the reviews. Love the 3 pathways storyline
Deserved reviews. Game is broken as hell
@@RioluJH that stuff can be fixed in patches
@@nafslee they won't until X-mas, after everyone who bought the game already finished it. And there is zero communication by B-Tec 343 Industries that fixes are even happening. Stop defending this massive sh*thole of a studio that already killed my passion for this series.
@@RioluJH doesn't give you the right to force your opinion on me. I'm not defending the studio (who's name I didn't even know until you told me). I'm just saying I'm enjoying the game and people will be playing long before christmas anyway as has always been with Pokemon games of all generations.

i love the game my only complaint for me is at times the difficulty feels weird, like ill be fighting normal trianers in a ears but in that same area i run into somone with pokemon like 20+ levels hugher then mine, but the others i fought in the same area were the around the same level as me
The trainers with black bubble text are exceedingly stronger than the rest you encounter. Look out for the color of the bubble.
@@toastguy5976 Oh thanks, is it the outline of the text bubble that changes color?

I agree with you. While the frame rate is an issue, it isn't a major one.
@@botmaster9000 Agreed, it would be nice for them to fix it but it doesn't happen constantly and when it does it only lasts for like a few seconds so its not a horrible game ruining issue
Something I don’t get is that one of the biggest video game franchises of all time with billions of billions of money still can’t afford voice actors or put in the effort to put voice actors in
They can afford it. But nobody is asking for it lol why put money into it
Dude this gameplay commentary is hilarious 😂 I’m dying this guy is soooo funny!
SV has been such a mess but this put a smile on my face, thanks! ❤
Sudowoodo terastallized into a grass type in case you didn't notice. That's why it was not very effective before he changed and super effective after
Nice! I’m glad you’re playing this so I don’t feel as bad sitting this game out. Hopefully by the time I get around to it they will have a patch to help smooth over some of those rough edges.
I wouldn't count on it. Both Sword/Shield and Arceus are an absolute disaster from a technical standpoint. Neither of those games ever got their technical issues ironed out. It would be cool if they did fix the issues here, but why would they? This game is already selling like crazy despite having the exact same graphical and performance issues as before.
@@robinmattheussen2395 The pokemon community needs to stop buying it and demand refunds seriously. The state that they released the game in is disrespectful to the consumer and they need to know that they can't get away with selling incomplete games.
at 1:03 - Challenging? If I didn't swap out my whole team (having a total of 20-somthing viable pve pokemon in the end) then I'd be sweeping every gym, every boss and every titan with ease. I think my main would have been lvl 80 or something by the time I took the Champion Assessment (which was the last "quest" of the three I did) if I didn't keep swapping and training many pokemon.
and at 36:31 - you didn't battle any of the trainers and didn't seem interested in filling the pokedex - of course "breezing" through it wouldn't be possible with THAT little effort, but all games before this was mostly the same.
well the video is a glitchy mess since there is no audio
Love how Choc hasn’t pointed out the literal OLED Switch in his bedroom 😂
The one disappointing thing I think is getting overlooked is that it's supposed to be based on a Hispanic region, I thought I heard Spain (?) But you hardly see anything like that anywhere in the design of the world except for like 2 npcs that say adios or the rival
I mean Spanish people are mostly white, it's a European country. Unless that's not what you mean.
@@wintersong2266 there's no Spanish architecture anywhere in this game and they made sword/shield the designated European highlight so Im pretty sure it was just rushed world design tbh
@@TheKrypticX yeah I'm surprised I haven't heard more people talk about this. Like isn't there a sushi chef gym leader? That doesn't really strike me as Spanish unless there's some big sushi industry in the country that I've never heard about.

I immediately thought it was based on Spain and Portugal because of the map, which strangely resembles Spain (and Portugal since there is no western border.) I just assumed I was correct when I saw Spanish everywhere.

To answer your questions about level scaling, the gyms and what not are at a preset level, you just happened to go to the second gym first. I feel like, if nothing else, the icons for gyms on your map should have had a "Suggested level" icon, or you know, should have had scaling.
Choc: "Now we can embark- why aren't you using the wheels you stupid a$s" LMAO
The game is not that bad. The story is actually really good. At the end
Honestly, this game made me realize GF has been trying to choose between focusing dev effort on “more of the same, but it works” and “new and exciting, but all the code is broken and everything is unbalanced as hell”, because they DON’T HAVE THE MANPOWER to do both
@@spindash64 your right they have such a small window to make a game as they have to make at least 1 pokemon game every year
In Pokemon Sword and Shield: Marnie: "This move really expresses my feelings, don't you think?" She said that right before using bite.
I have had none of the issues that others have had. I even found a shiny in my first 10 minutes
5:06 Actually, funny thing about that is is that Nintendo actually IS offering refunds for these games.
How dare you not call fuecoco “chroctopus”
The editing and commentary was emaculate. Thanks Choc
The game is fun, but I’m not going to ignore the glitches. I only recommend playing it if you are willing to put up with the glitches.
I mean a day one game that costs 60 or more bucks i expect to see a good game, a game can't come out perfect and all but if theres more bugs that good stuff its a bit of a problem
The abrupt cuts of the Tera theme when you fucked up had me Rollin
After Legends Arceus this feels like a step backwards
I wanted to avoid spoilers but if choc post anything I’m watching it.
This is one of the funniest Pokemon games and its not because of the game lmaoo
Its the glitches just if u wonder
Choc: The game is actually challenging
Me who only lost one time and being constantly overleveled: 🙃
Not biased in the sliiiiightest, but you should totally name a pokemon Chain since you asked for name suggestions! Besides that this game leaves me really hopeful for the future of pokemon games now that they're breaking out of the normal formula. I enjoyed the game the whole way through (besides the game crashing and losing 40 mins of class progress) so I hope you do too!
At least the story is good. The only problems are the bugs and glitches, I don't know why people bandwagon on "Violet and Scarlet bad!" It's honestly a really solid game with better graphics a better storyline than most other open world RPGs
This game is better than people say it is
Hey Choc great vid, appreciate your humor👌
Scarlet is definitely rough but not unplayable. After the few hours I was actually enjoying a PKM game since Gold on GBC. Firestarter all day but Fuecoco didn't impress me at first. So I gave him a chance and he's looking good now👍 I actually took on Katy the bug lady (gorgeous btw) before Brassius and that was a night match. Challenging and a fun time. I find that taking on the lower regions and working your way up offers the best flow. But I swept Brassius with Vivillon Crocalor and Tinkatuff. Can't wait to see more from you.
This game was actually really fun for me and was some what challenging and I picked fuecoco and named him Carlos
I named my fuelo because I had a song stuck in my head and replaced wei wei lo with fue.😂
There is no way I named mine Carlos too
I'mma name mine Alfonso :D
(In memory of my favorite animal crossing villager)
Welp
I named my sprig, grass kitty haha
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are unironically the best pokemon games for all the unexpected and wrong reasons-
You didn’t have to reference the saddest episode of Futurama and ruin me like that!
Yes the glitches are there but man it's a really fun game and I enjoy exploring the world and doing the gyms in any order and my starter (in violet at least) is Fuecoco
I worked to buy my girlfriend a switch, as she's never had one, or any nintendo console, and was a huge pokemon fan her whole life, and now that she has one and scarlet/violet, shes having the time of her life, and none of the bugs will make it matter less.
"he's not as cute, he looks like an akward teenager"
that's basically every starter since gen 1
Chopus not relishing the actual gimmick to terrastrialising hurts me
Though this game has its technical issues I honestly think this is one of the best Pokémon game.
Also IMDb can be reviewed by people who haven’t played the game and could make alt accounts to only vote on one game so…
But. This is not a movie. :B

Choc, good choice picking fuecoco, you just avoided SO much disappointment.
Don't get me wrong, the graphic is ass but i still had a lot of fun.
The story/characters are clearly the best part.
LARRY
YOU DID NOT WITH THAT FUTURAMA REFERENCE!
What annoyed me the most besides all the bugs and choppy gameplay was that you had no idea where to start. You could accidentally jump into a high level gym or boss and you just lose lol but once you figure out where to go it makes things a lot smoother and fun also the map sucks you try going somewhere and are blocked off by water or something and have to go all the way around it takes some time figuring out
5:05 gets me everytime
The game’s been fairly stable for me tbh. It’s crashed twice but I’ve been playing it damn near nonstop since it came out. The frame rate does suck though. I loved the framing of a treasure hunt. All three storylines are great and the final storyline is pretty cool.
@@jowysw All of the footage youre finding online are specifically edited together to shit on the game, for the most part the game runs perfectly fine. After about a week of people getting their laughs in, start to listen to genuine reviews of the game and not just shitposts.

@@jowysw No. I just have a regular V2 Switch. The Animal Crossing themed one in fact. The game is far from perfect and it’s embarrassing that Game Freak thought that this was acceptable. A little bit of advice for whatever it’s worth for you. When responding to a post or comment make sure that you respond to what is actually being said rather that what you THINK or FEEL like is being said. When you react the way you did to my comment it gives off the impression that you didn’t read the full comment.
