Im gonna say probably a hat in time, ether that or hollow knight, the mods for a hat in time make it so incredibly hard to put down and i couldnt be happier
Hollow knight is more of a metroidvania, while still being a platformer, the elements of the game would be lacking without the enemies and bosses. Games like celeste which don't have enemies focus solely on the platforming, making it be able to be a platformer in my eyes.
Astro's playroom is worth your time if you want to play the "Prequel" Also there are 4 Bots to unlock in the prequel that will be added to the Astro Bot's Crew bringing the total to 305.

Somehow Astro Bot has some so the most brutal killing methods I’ve ever seen (Tama Trio is self explanatory, the first two world bosses having their eyes hit a bunch, Mecha Leon having his nose pulled by the nose ring and then slammed back into him) like geez why is the cute little robot the one with such brutal ways of killing things
for the Trio you aren't actually destroying their insides, just the yolk of the egg they're hiding in you can see the actual bird flying off each time you defeat one
The fact that Sony is taking notes from Nintendo like this is an amazing thing. Games should be more like Nintendo games: fun and charming and enjoyable.

You say it like it's something bad. Yeah, it took many of the great things that game has. It also added it's own jist to the formulae and it improved and bettered upon what was already a great game design philosophy. Hyped for the Astro Bot playthrough. If you want another platformer to play I would recommend the Trine series. These games are relatively short but extremely fun with multiplayer. The ideal amount is 3, but 4 players is also extremely entertaining (for the viewers).
I beat Astro bot not to long ago and I was not expecting a T-Rex demo at the end. And the references to other PlayStation games and other stuff was pure gold. Can’t wait to play the new one.
This game has something that is so often missing from games, a sense of innate playfullness. So often games are visually impressive but utterly lacking in soul. This has style and soul. It's taking obvious influence from a lot of places and that is just fine. Saying "I've played all the platformers" while also having not beaten the all-timer that is Banjo-Kazooie is certainly a thing to say.
Regarding the Orbital Blitz bots- they’re supposed to represent the racing teams from the WipEout series. The red and yellow one is Piranha, the red and white one is AG Systems, the purple and white one is Qirex, the white red and blue one is Auricom, and the blue and yellow one is Feisar!
This game went from something I was cautiously excited about to one of the greatest games I’ve ever played in like an hour genuinely a fantastic experience

Both were on the ps2, both were brought over by EIDOS Entertainment, and, if I remember correctly, both were made by the same developers, but only one get any recognition, and it isn't the one with the most unique turn-based combat system ever.
We Love Katamari is the second game in the series. I just went on a binge and I would definitely recommend that one to play through. Fantastic music, good humor. Should be a fun time

I will say one thing ( and I mean this totally without offense), something that I've been intrigued by with anyone who plays this game, and that's the extent (or the constraints) of his game knowledge. Like, I'm kinda surprised he didn't recognize Loco Roco, Gravity Rush, or them OLD old RPGs. It's been interesting to see what his exposure has been!
Forgotten Mascot is Polygon Man, the original mascot for US PS1, but nobody liked him, so he was scrapped. But he IS the final (and only) boss in PlayStation Allstars: Battle Royale.
If you can manage to find a PS VR1 for cheap, I would definitely recommend getting it just for Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, that game is also fantastic for its own reasons
I say my favorite platformer ever was Super Mario 3D World. The feeling of actually grasping the entire level, the stars and stamps, the boss fights, it was simply amazing!!
i know it's not a platformer, but Bioshock 1+2 is my childhood game series. Soley because watching playthroughs over and over, and then being able to play it for myself made my heart explode with joy.
and as a side note, my first and only platinum i ever bothered grinding for, was in maneater. Nowhere near looking as painful as astro, but definitely more time consuming than astro

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is my favorite platformer of the last couple years. The music roped me in and the movement is so much fun in that game.

SMRPG got me into RPGs but I was pretty conservative with the ones I played. It was limited to games like FF7, Lunar: SSS.

Forgotten Mascot is Polygon Man, the original mascot for US PS1, but nobody liked him, so he was scrapped. But he IS the final (and only) boss in PlayStation Allstars: Battle Royale.
If you can manage to find a PS VR1 for cheap, I would definitely recommend getting it just for Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, that game is also fantastic for its own reasons
I say my favorite platformer ever was Super Mario 3D World. The feeling of actually grasping the entire level, the stars and stamps, the boss fights, it was simply amazing!!
i know it's not a platformer, but Bioshock 1+2 is my childhood game series. Soley because watching playthroughs over and over, and then being able to play it for myself made my heart explode with joy.
and as a side note, my first and only platinum i ever bothered grinding for, was in maneater. Nowhere near looking as painful as astro, but definitely more time consuming than astro
