Yes, but a young girl who can override her natural instincts during fight or flight to save her own life and push through the physical pain of her injuries, as well as the mental and emotional pain of what was happening to her mother and still manage to completely stay silent to survive, she's got the strength to carry on with life. While she will never forget it, i think she'll have a good productive life and not let this moment that was totally out of control ruin her forever... It’s taken me almost 15 years to listen to the interviews from this horrific crime. It’s taken me 5 tries to get through this entire video.
Since 2009, I’ve felt disgusting for dating one of these psychopaths a year prior. I’m so angry he congratulated me and told me how excited he was to meet my daughter the day she was born, just 4 days before the murder. Hearing his interviews in this video have made me vomit multiple times.
    But he gets no name.
I’m still friendly with his parents who bent over backwards to give him a great life and get the help me needed. They adopted him from his drug addict biological mother and gave him a beautiful home with whatever he wanted in life to succeed. When he started to turn into a different person, they tried absolutely everything and anything to get him help for what was diagnosed as “depression and ODD” but is now clearly shown to be ASPD with sociopathic and psychopathic behaviors. I will defend his parents for the rest of my life because they are TRULY good people. Some people are truly evil no matter what support they have in life. Evil people get no name.

I grew up about 20 minutes from this case, I was in middle school when it happened. I've barely seen any true crime channels cover this case, I'm glad to see it getting some attention.
Edit: I was discussing this case with my family after watching this episode and remembered something. Two of these guys were at the prison my step father used to work at. He worked the SHU (Special Housing Unit) which is a maximum security wing, basically solitary confinement. He told me inmates usually go there once they misbehave on the inside, but inmates who've committed crimes against kids go right away because if the other inmates find out, they'll kill them, they go to the SHU for their own safety. I guess they weren't at his prison for long, only a few years, and then got moved to a different prison, but that they were in the SHU unit where he worked. He said they were quiet, cordial, friendly even, never caused trouble, got along with officers and other inmates, you'd never suspect them of something so terrible if you didn't know any better.

Its amazing really because even the most unreliable person can give a persepective youve yet to see. That doesnt make someone suddenly reliable. the same way you can learn from someone younger than you but you are still a well of knowledge in comparison and thats just due to time. Now when that younger person is the age you were maybe the imformation they hold will be more accurate and you have lots to still learn. Thats how it is though no one person can really hold all the information in the world, but it can be in many. we can all learn lots from eachother.

A lot of people have already said Jaimie was smart to play dead, but I think more impressive is the level of mental fortitude required to overcome the sheer terror and horrible pain one must be in to make rational decisions. That's what's impressive. Most adults have a hard time doing what's best for them when panicked and in pain, let alone going through what she went through. It takes so so much to override your instincts and all the chemicals rushing through your veins.

I completely agree, she was clearly very close with her mother since she was sleeping in her bed, it mustve been horrible for her to play dead while not knowing if her mother was going to survive or not.. smart girl.. she mustve had so much faith in her moms love to know that she'd perfer her to survive than for her to panic and try and check up on her

Well i dropped a knife while chopping some vegetables, in a moment of sheer stupidity i tried grabbing it, it bounced with the handle on the table, tip up, i forcefully stabbed my hand almost through. Immediately after feeling the pain shock and the table covered in blood, I passed out. If it wasn't for my stepdad i would probably have died like an idiot in a pool of blood while chopping vegetables. Everyone says "it's just a small stab, you'll be fine" while ignoring the pain shock reaction that can incapacitate you really fast if you're not used to pain.
Lessons learned: don't underestimate knives, and a falling knife has no handle, don't try grabbing it, let it fall instead, then pick it up and wash it.
Pain shock is a horrible feeling, yet somehow she managed to call police.

As I've aged, I usually stay away from this type of stuff, but when I was a child, I'd experience secondhand fear, bewilderment, sadness, etc. plus nervously think of what I'd have done. Us parents of mentally Ill children are chastised by the community when our kid does something terrible, but when we tried to do something when something could be done we are denied, we are given ridiculous options, we are offered counseling for US.

Those with Parole in this care are those that do not actually committed the murder per se, so makes sense. And also because people at 17 arent the same people at 50. Minors should never be sentence to life unless it's evident they will do it again. You can mature in that time and be a completely different person (although in this case Steven and Chris are sick in the head and shouldnt be released).

Antisocial personality disorder goes unrecognized in a lot of people because they don't show particularly dangerous signs. A cool and funny fact, there is a doctor called James H Fallon who decided to do research on the brain differences of psychopaths and normal people. He decided to test himself one day and discovered he was in fact a psychopath due to his brain structure being that one one. He had been noted for being cold and calculated but he wasn't particularly dangerous or violent. Must've been a shock!

The ancient times were so filled with murder and death that ancient people created the term Momento Mori. Death was so common that the people just accepted it as a part of life. Random murders and attacks from enemy armies which would turn peaceful nights into bloodshed, you’d survive the attack only to find your neighbours were burnt or stabbed to death over the course of a few hours

@@zzodysseuszz Momento Mori - "Remember You will Die". It was indeed a very common saying. It used to be etched on tombstones, to remind the living that one day they too will die and be lowered into the ground. And in my own opinion, its a good saying to keep in mind and remember. Momento Mori was also the name for a physical "momento" as well. A keepsake taken from someone who has passed away. Usually something like a loch of their hair, or a picture of the person in a locket. Or a piece of jewelry they often wore, or some other kind of trinket the person once owned. Any of those kinds of things were also known as a Momento Mori. "To serve as a physical reminder to always remember those who have died, because one day you too will die.."

      @KoiladaScrewYTHandles Год назад

@@zzodysseuszz I hate to break it to you, but all that still happens today, you need to read the world news. Also, death _is_ a part of life and attacks from enemy armies were hardly "random." I'd also like to pint out that you're commenting this on a video about a vicious but not uncommon kind of murder in the modern day.
I get what you're trying to say, but you're judging it based on incorrect notions and assumptions of the past in comparison to today. If you do a little research (as well as just generally have an awareness of the world beyond your own bubble), you'll find, through credible scientific sources, that humanity is not more or less violent than the past. Plague and disease were the most common, and most feared and recognised, cause of death throughout history, as opposed to violence. To the point that if you _did_ travel back in time, your worst fear would and should be falling ill, rather than being murdered.
Like today, most people in the past lived their lives without being brutalised, but because what you hear and see seems to say otherwise (because nobody documented the farmer families from 903 who lived a plain life, as there was no reason to), what you're getting is confirmation bias - _"I hear about these brutal things that happened in the past, therefore the past was more brutal."_ A logical fallacy. By association, you also think _"I don't hear about as much brutality today, therefore the modern world is less brutal."_ Which is also incorrect, and the only reason you think that is because you aren't on the grapevine of people constantly hearing about or experiencing it.
      Or worse: densensitised to it.
Take America for example; the number of senseless mass shootings has been growing every year, the amount of children being shot and murdered in school has also increased - last year had the most school shootings ever recorded. Parents put kevlar in their six-year-old's bags because they're scared they'll be shot, and young children are trained on how to deal with these shootings since they first enter school. Does that not sound brutal? It does to people with sense, or people not surrounded by it. But when you hear of it so often, it becomes "normal," and it doesn't seem as brutal as, say, an army raiding a village and slaughtering the inhabitants in the 1200s, even though by all sense, children being butchered (and fearing being butchered) in their place of study is no less brutal.
And of course, bringing it back around to the confirmation bias, because most people live a normal life, and most children aren't shot, they aren't as documented as the violence. I guarantee three hundred years into the future, someone like you is going to be reading about all the mass shootings and violent war crimes in the 21st century and thinking _"the past was so much more brutal compared to today,"_ meanwhile the people of New Castille are experiencing the exact same thing, they just don't hear too much about it in their bubble.
