That girl is pure badass.
I found an update on her. She studied public health and played field hockey at her university. She seems to have grown into a well-adjusted young adult. I hope she lives a long and prosperous life while these guys rot in jail.
Being a parent, idk why I listen to these things, it hurts from every angle. Obviously, that poor little girl has to live with this forever. Her father wonders every day what he could have done differently or how he could have been home to help.. But those horrific killers were good little children at one point, too. That's what really messes with me. Their parents seemingly loved them and tried to raise them right and they ended up the worst people imaginable. I can't imagine the shame and heartache their parents feel, too.
That being said, you don't get a more straightforward case for the death penalty. There's no hope for rehabilitation there and they should never be free, not just for punishment, but because they're too much of a risk for society. Idk what the legality is in their state but I feel the death penalty is appropriate.

@@za5820most people like this actually have some sort of history of child abuse or trauma in their lives, or something along those lines. It’s a weird way to see it, but I like to find comfort in that, because it means that children aren’t just randomly turning into murderous monsters at some point in their development. Obviously not in every single case, but at least it isn’t completely random 😅😅

That little girl was in a pool of her own blood with 18 wounds, a punctured lung and fractured elbow, and a cracked skull and partially amputated foot…but still managed to dial 911 and tell the officers her name and what had happened…she’s so strong it’s unbelievable.

Jamie is doing amazing now! She did an interview in 2019 about her life 10 years later, and at that point they had raised over $250,000 for a scholarships in her mom's name.
Doing work to benefit others is a very effective way to help you over come loss or depression. I am very glad to hear she is managing to come out the other side of this and do good things on top of it.
Jamie is such an amazing being. Her presence of mind to do everything possible to survive helped tremendously to get these low-life psychos out of circulation. Jamie saved not only her life, but the lives of other victims because this gang wasn’t gonna stop killing until the cops stopped them.

When the narrator said the police recovered a sweatshirt that said, "This is Steve's sweatshirt" and a pair of socks with Christopher's last name on them, that's a pretty good indication that these guys are possibly some of the dumbest criminals ever.

I think it was more that they were so full of themselves and the feeling of superiority and maybe even not caring about if it could potentially be traced back to them.

The interrogators were really good at applying pressure at points that made a lot of sense. Specifically when the interviewee said he stole Pokémon stickers when he was nine and the interviewer said ‘we’re not talking smoking under 18 or pokemon stickers, we’re talking MUUUURDERRRR!!!’
I'm so proud of that little girl she saved her own life. I'm so sorry she has to live with this horror for the rest of her life. I hope she stays as strong as she is
Read an article, she studies some sort of health aide in college, also plays field hockey for that college, so she's living as swell as possible, though I'm sure the PTSD and horror comes through time to time... What a strong last she probably has become

Yes, but a young girl who can override her natural instincts during fight or flight to save her own life and push through the physical pain of her injuries, as well as the mental and emotional pain of what was happening to her mother and still manage to completely stay silent to survive, she's got the strength to carry on with life. While she will never forget it, i think she'll have a good productive life and not let this moment that was totally out of control ruin her forever... Her mom's only concern was her daughter living for that exact reason, so imagine on those hard days that'll be/has been her driving force when things are at there worst
She's a survivor and behaved like a warrior. She has the strength to not continue to be a victim. There have been kids throughout history that had it even worse that went on to be happy fulfilled adults, I'm betting she'll be one of them.

I grew up about 20 minutes from this case, I was in middle school when it happened. I've barely seen any true crime channels cover this case, I'm glad to see it getting some attention.
Edit: I was discussing this case with my family after watching this episode and remembered something. Two of these guys were at the prison my step father used to work at. He worked the SHU (Special Housing Unit) which is a maximum security wing, basically solitary confinement. He told me inmates usually go there once they misbehave on the inside, but inmates who've committed crimes against kids go right away because if the other inmates find out, they'll kill them, they go to the SHU for their own safety. I guess they weren't at his prison for long, only a few years, and then got moved to a different prison, but that they were in the SHU unit where he worked. He said they were quiet, cordial, friendly even, never caused trouble, got along with officers and other inmates, you'd never suspect them of something so terrible if you didn't know any better.
Terrible terrible imagine being the parent of this evil boys!!! After they did this terrible crime claiming they are mentally sick so they can get away with the horrible crime 😮😮

I briefly took two classes in forensic psychology during my undergrad years and I find it legitimately impressive that all these techniques and terms have been identified in interrogation throughout the years. Mad respect to people who dedicate their lives to catching these people.
It's actually shocking that William, who went with a knife and seemed to at least enjoy the idea of infamy, will be out in 2024, while Quinn, who did confront the murderers about having attacked a woman and a child, and is the only one who seems to recognise the horror of what they did, will not be eligible for parole until 2029.

A lot of people have already said Jaimie was smart to play dead, but I think more impressive is the level of mental fortitude required to overcome the sheer terror and horrible pain one must be in to make rational decisions. That's what's impressive. Most adults have a hard time doing what's best for them when panicked and in pain, let alone going through what she went through. It takes so so much to override your instincts and all the chemicals rushing through your veins.
I completely agree, she was clearly very close with her mother since she was sleeping in her bed, it mustve been horrible for her to play dead while not knowing if her mother was going to survive or not.. smart girl.. she mustve had so much faith in her moms love to know that she'd perfer her to survive than for her to panic and try and check up on her
Well i dropped a knife while chopping some vegetables, in a moment of sheer stupidity i tried grabbing it, it bounced with the handle on the table, tip up, i forcefully stabbed my hand almost through. Immediately after feeling the pain shock and the table covered in blood, I passed out. If it wasn't for my stepdad i would probably have died like an idiot in a pool of blood while chopping vegetables. Everyone says "it's just a small stab, you'll be fine" while ignoring the pain shock reaction that can incapacitate you really fast if you're not used to pain.
Lessons learned: don't underestimate knives, and a falling knife has no handle, don't try grabbing it, let it fall instead, then pick it up and wash it.
Pain shock is a horrible feeling, yet somehow she managed to call police.
Fun side effects of all those chemicals is that you don't feel pain. Soldiers are trained to check themselves after taking cover because you often don't feel getting hit through the adrenaline. The human body is capable of incredible things when it needs to be.
I don't think it was fortitude. I think it was her "fight, flight, or FREEZE" Instinct. She froze, as a deer would. Your brain doesn't think when you do those responses. It's a response for a reason: it saves your life

same, I'm not sure if I have ADHD but I'm certain I do have autism, so I would find it very hard to communicate at all with someone. Especially in a situation where there (technically) is a right vs wrong answer and every mistake and piece of behavior matters a lot and could literally put me in prison
This was horrifying. The way that Chris guy talked so casually was so creepy. I don't envy the parents of these guys either. Can you imagine doing whatever you can for your kid and he/she turns out like this? That girl is amazing. Just thinking about her courage and heartbreak and what she witnessed. I hope she has been able to heal and live a full life after this horrible experience.

This event rocked the community here in New Hampshire. My kids were classmates of Jaime and I coached a young lady who had dated one of the killers. When Jaime graduated from high school, nearly everyone in attendance was in tears.

There was a case in Connecicut where two former inmates brutalized and killed a mother and her two girls, then set fire to the house while they were tied to the bed. I often think about the husband/father and how his life is now. Co-incidentally, a friend, who is a retired corrections officer said he had to see them every day in prison and restrain himself from killing them, himself

I'll say it again, this is why I'm glad walmart isn't 24 hours anymore. No one good goes into that store passed like 11pm. There are a handful of peole that will go in after work, but the rest are either thieves, weirdos, or drunk/high people.

finally I see someone else commenting about this, it seems as though everything can be a red flag - which, to be fair, is kind of true in my opinion. Every single element of a suspect's behavior can be taken as a red flag, but that does not mean it 100% means they are guilty. For example not moving at all vs moving a lot (fidgeting, bouncing leg, touching face) can both show someone's stress about the situation, but it's hard to tell whether it's because they are guilty or because they are being interrogated by police about a serious crime and are seen as a possible suspect in the interrogator's eyes. Same goes for speech, someone may use "maybe"/"I think"/"probably" because they genuinely are not sure and very stressed at the moment and find it hard to recall what they did on said day, especially if it's a small thing like which route they took when driving
@@mysteriousluck I'm always confused when they say "and then" statements when giving an alibi is a red flag. I feel like that's a completely normal way to state the things that you did on any given day. i.e. "I went to school and then I walked with my friends to soccer practice" I talk like that all the time !! lol

Although i think kids r too ignored when even as an adult you understand that you will always have something to learn from those older and younger than you. Its amazing really because even the most unreliable person can give a persepective youve yet to see. That doesnt make someone suddenly reliable. the same way you can learn from someone younger than you but you are still a well of knowledge in comparison and thats just due to time. Now when that younger person is the age you were maybe the imformation they hold will be more accurate and you have lots to still learn. I mean, when you were a kid hearing about crazy brutal events in the news and on TV, was your first thought not to think about the victims, putting yourself in their shoes? As I've aged, I usually stay away from this type of stuff, but when I was a child, I'd experience secondhand fear, bewilderment, sadness, etc. plus nervously think of what I'd have done. Stuff like defending myself if possible, running if possible, and playing dead all came to mind. What were you thinking when you were a kid watching a docu on a heinous, violent crime?

I've been watching these for the past couple days but this one made me sick to my stomach. I have 2 daughters and the thought of them experiencing something like this makes my heart hurt. I hope that poor girl is doing well and that her mother is resting peacefully.

Boils down to politics. New Hampshire predominantly favors Democrats. Democrats are generally opposed to the death penalty and are softer on crime in general.
The law that allows for parole was based on crimes committed by kids under 18 and the fact that their brains are not fully formed. Sadly, these four being under 18 are allowed the same law, but I can assure you that each time they come up for parole and the board reviews their crime, they’ll be sent right back to their cell. Sociopaths don’t improve, their personality disorder only gets worse when surrounded by like minds.

I was 11 when I seen someone get shot and killed. Every moment of that time is so vivid and easy to recall. I can only imagine the trauma that girl endured and what kind of ptsd she suffered from that. Her strength is unimaginable and to hell with those monsters. Her mother was in the middle of a divorce and he was a horrible man and he actually held them hostage and was going to kill them also but some how they got out and I was walking over there and had no clue what was happening I walked in and looked at him the moment he sat in that chair with a big white wall behind him and did it. And i hate the nights when I have dreams about it.

Poor Jaimie, this is absolutely horrendous. I can't imagine being 11, watching my mom get brutally attacked, get brutally attacked myself, and with those injuries, be in SO much pain.... And yet..... She managed to play dead and save herself. She is SO strong. I'm so sorry for her that she had to do that but I am really really glad she survived. I'm sure if there is an afterlife Kimberly has to be looking down so happy her baby survived even if Kimberly herself died horribly. RIP Kimberly, and I hope Jaimie has managed to find some level of peace, she deserves it. I hope the rest of her life goes as smoothly as possible, she has experienced enough pain and horror for a lifetime.

She said he had a Swastika burned into his arm and a police officer had gotten him the job at the pizza place to "try and get him on the right path" this was a huge happening in the area when it happened. Yup. It’s a sad state of affairs that we COULD stop kids from killing if it was a priority. But the juvenile justice system, child welfare system, and adolescent mental healthcare system is so ineffective, that it fails everyone.
Us parents of mentally Ill children are chastised by the community when our kid does something terrible, but when we tried to do something when something could be done we are denied, we are given ridiculous options, we are offered counseling for US.
I don’t need counseling. I need my child to get intensive inpatient help, and I need for that to be more easily accessible.
I was told that my child who was at risk of killing herself from overdose had to “consent” to inpatient treatment. But doctors need my permission to give her a flu shot. Make it make sense.

The narrator has it a bit wrong: The detective didn't askChris if he'd tell Jaimie he was sorry she was hurt, but whether he would _apo;ogize_ to her. The two not exactly the same, because one can be sorry something happened without having any involvement, but an apology, while also an expression of sorrow that something bad happened, is an admission of guilt to the offended person harmed by the bad act.
My mother was murdered over half a decade ago and the pain I live with every day is immense. It’s a type of pain and most will never understand, which is a good thing obviously. I just hope the people that shatter lives are able to comprehend a fraction of the pain that they inflict and get what they deserve for committing these acts. Vile people

@@commonsense571 I would never want to kill anyone, but the idea of killing a mom in front of her kid...hearing them both cry out to each other...that's an entirely different thing all together. Genuinely can not fathom doing that, and there is no punishment severe enough for this crime

It’s insane to see the thumbnail with Chris Gribble’s face. I went to church with him. I chatted with him about once a month. We even danced at church dances. I will forever remember the day we all showed up for our youth group and the bishop announced what had happened. Of course there were no details at that point. Every time a new detail was released it just got more and more sickening. Chris was always kind of weird but I’d only ever seen the other youth try and be nice to him. I just still can’t believe I met a killer. Not to mention how anyone could be so violent and cruel.
His mother also abused him and he was isolated. That's why he was weird

@@OfTheCoast1234567 same BUT I still think these conversations are important. Not as an excuse but as a rationale for why it’s so important to understand how dangerous abuse is. You and I are lucky and got away and bettered ourselves instead. But there are many who also don’t make it out.
On the bright side, I’m glad so many people are able to break the cycle and have more help to understand what abuse has done to them BEFORE they get to this extreme. You and I didn’t have a lot going of help or community dealing with abuse. Mental health accessibility is what keeps people from hurting themselves or others. So let’s continue breaking that cycle!
Only thing the investigators got wrong or that Chris and Steve are not animals. They’re monsters animals don’t do this.

@@aishabush1655 I understand why they don't want to hear the little girl's 911 call. It's one thing to listen to the story or watch an interrogation, but to hear the terror and pain in a kids voice is something much deeper. It's more personal.
I swear when he said that the little girl said "please don't do this" and mom replied "It's OK baby" I truly cried.
I am a daughter and a mother so I can only imagine the fear and mother trying to comfort her baby in spite of it.
It just shakes me to the core.
As for the 2 that carried out the murder.
They are weak and spinless individuals. There is NOTHING superior and tough about killing 2 defenceless and unwitting women.
I can only hope they get what's coming to them inside.

Knowing your mom is dead, being in horrific pain and suffering blood loss, being alone and so young. Just unimaginable, what she went through before being able to make that phone call.Missing your mom, every time you remember her, remembering the time you lost her, then later, going on without her, living the new life with your dad in mourning. Because of a set of strangers.
Being a "troubled teen/kid" or "abused" is absolutely no excuse. I was an abused kid/teen. My dad was an alcoholic cokehead would come home all hours of the night mad at the world and take it out on everyone in the house, me my brother my mom...im 31 now with my own kids and have never hurt anyone like this. Ive had a couple fist fights in school but thats as far as it ever went. I couldn't fathom ever doing something like this. These people are just evil. My heart goes to jamie and her dad. I cant imagine the guilt the dad has for not being there to protect his wife and young daughter 😢 and i praise jamie for her strength and from what i hear shes doing great now ❤ a horrible thing shes guna have to take with her her whole life. Scars as constant reminders. I just cant imagine. All for a few pieces of jewelry smdh.
