nahhh a konami thing to do would be to ban beatrice a year from now after people stopped playing fiendsmith in their decks and moved to some other engine. Like what they did to halq.
If they hit Beatrice, people will pivot to the DDD Negator.
Also if they hit Apo. People at least in the OCG. Will pivot to Knightmare Gryphon...which they were already sort of doing.
In the TCG. I'm sure there are some other busted options to take the Place of Apo. If they even decide to go that far.
It's not a Beatrice problem, It's a fiendsmith problem.
The obvious correct choice is to put engraver to 1 IMMEDIATELY but people keep defending Konami trying to make money instead of making the game better so they don't change the stuff that is necessary. So the game stays as cancerous as it is.
When I read princess's mats, I instantly thought "oh, I can make this using plunder gold special summon from hand by discard red to equip it to gold on next chain."😅

This is giving big "releasing the Ishizu cards while Tear is already clearly the best deck" energy except in this case Necroquip and Aerial only really benefit Fiendsmith and very little else if anything

More like giving Garura to the TCG in POTE Format with the next set release being MAMA.
Aerial Eater is a decent Super Poly target in other decks to clear the fiend decks.

slight correction to the line he talked which was: Closed Heaven -> Requiem -> Engraver -> equip Requiem -> necroquip -> reviver engraver -> Sequence -> Lacrima -> revive engraver with Lacrima
this works as a one card combo, except for the Lacrima reviving Engraver, since Requiem or Closed Heaven is sent back to extra for Engraver's revival effect, then when you get to Sequence, that leaves only Engraver and the one not sent back from Engraver's effect in grave meaning to get out Lacrima would require sending those 2 back to deck/extra deck since Necroquip is a Dark and not Light, so their is no Engraver to reviver with Lacrima
the actually end point of the combo(without another light fiend from some other source) is Necroquip and Engraver either Xyz into Ceasar/Beatrice, or Link into a link 2 (likely S:P or I:P)
only reason to got for Link 2 and Lacrima is to either go into a Link 3(if there is a good one to use here), or go for the same Link 2 as the previous step, but also get Lacrima's burn damage
also this combo going up to Necro Xyz/Linking with Engraver is also doable off of Tract or Sanct making them 1 card starters as well
You can Xyz into Ptolemy M7, use its effect detaching Engraver to recover Engraver, discarding Engraver to search Tractus, using Tractus discarding Lurrie summoning it.
Now you are able to make Sequentia into Lacrima with Engraver on GY.
The craziest part about fiendsmith is they will still be the best engine by miles even after BANNING goddess and beatrice

I'm a Master Duel player ATM but my god I'm fearing the day that Fiendsmith comes to this game and just watching what is capable of rn with SE... My god we need a TOSS level banlist to fix this format

But anyway fiendsmith have the potential to be an engine to support poor decks if we got strong banlist hit to limit accessibility and how generic it is
Things like decks that can make ranks 3(dijinn)
And evil heros (they can summon a light fiend) these are horrible decks and need powerful engines
At that point they shouldn't ban either and just ban fiendsmiths

I have some theorycrafting like Magical Musketeer FS but i don't think those decks can do anything in a format where SEFS lives

I was so happy with the design direction moving away from omninegates in the last couple years of yugioh. Then I see this, and see how they're making custom cards that push more and more in the direction of filling your deck with one card starters, so the rest of your deck can be filled with handtraps and I wonder if it's just as bad

True. Tbf, it has moved away from the omni-negate interactions mostly. The interactions coming out of SE are generally more interesting I would say; it's just that 1. they put up way too much of that interaction with just a single card, and 2. breaking the board is just meaningless since they can just very easily rebuild it again. I feel at this rate we may never get boardbreaking back. Our only option is to prevent a board from being built in the first place, and I can't say I find that fun Yugioh.
I want in-archetype hand traps like mercurier. I'm tired of decks having half or more of the space being counters to other cards

@ eoincarey2817 Scarecrow was an old card and I’ll defend that ban for forever. SHS was the stereotypical combo deck and somehow even less interactive than Kashtira.

What this means is that the fiendsmith engine can be made out of 1 single card in the deck and 3 extra deck monsters

@@gigadon120 no, engraver in the main; moon, requiem and necroquip on extra + any rank 6 (probably beatrice lets be honest) the engine is started by any 2 materials so something like dotscaper or clock wyvern for example could equal any generic rank 6 but you will likely see snake eyes instead of those jank cards

It also makes tractus a 1 card fiendsmith combo, whereas before if you opened tractus by itself it was a brick. So now technically you could play 6 main deck fiendsmith combo B4 normal summon cards, then 7 if you count normal summon lurrie
The new fusions actually makes it so that the fiendsmith engine is playable in fiend decks without needing any of the secret rares. So I guess it lets more budget players try the engine out while incentivizing them to spend more to make the engine better
How is it playable without the secret rares when engraver and requiem are secret rares? You literally need 1 engraver and requiem in order to make Necroquip
@@chewdoom8415 you dont actually make necroquip. from dark beckoning beast you can make moon of the closed sky, then use spirit gates to revive dbb and make sequentia, then use the two dark fiends in gy to make aerial eater and send your fiend (like samsara d lotus). afterwards you can make muckraker and summon the sent fiend at the cost of fiend locking yourself

One's opinion of the format aside, this has to be hurting their numbers, right? Attendance has tanked at the locals I go to and my friends from back home (Brazil) told me our locals has switched to once a week instead of twice due to low player numbers.
There were four people at my locals on the INFO release weekend. Attendance has tanked since Snake-Eyes came out.
Nobody cares about locals, only YCS attendance numbers matter

What's crazy about Aerial eater is that it allows Yubel Fiendsmith to stay the same even if Beatrice gets banned.
Before the TCG exclusive, if Yubel wants to combo using Dark Beckoning Beast they'd need to: ns twice, make moon into requiem into engraver then discard one to revive with gates into Sequence into Beatrice to dump Samsara and then go into Muckracker to discard and revive Samsara, which is two discards just to get to Samsara.
Now they can go into Necroquip into Sequence into Aerial Eater dumping Samsara and revive it off Muckracker/gates with just one discard.
The difference between monster and monster card is pretty easy to visualize if you think about it. If forbidden droplet sends a Poplar in the spell/trap zone as cost, it's considered to have sent a monster as cost
6:20 You can't go into Sequence because you've returned 1 Light Fiend to revive Engraver, which mean you only have Requiem and Engraver in grave and nothing for Lacrima to revive.
And of course it’s a level 6 for Beatrice

The sucky part is that the fiendsmith cards are so cool but enable too many things for too many decks. I’m still in favor of getting rid of the bridges between fiendsmith and other archetypes that shouldn’t have these tools
Aerial Eater is a newly released bridge for both Unchained and Yubel.
Fiendsmith should lock to fiend. Broken engine without restriction are the bane of yu-gi-oh.
It's weird how every official Fiendsmith card translation drops the religious chant reference in favor of a shorter, stupider name. I think Konami thinks players are too dumb and intimidated by big words...

@@Efgand0894 All those names (Sequentia, Dies Irae, Tractus, etc...) refer to sung parts of the catholic Requiem mass (a mass for the repose (requiem) of the deceased).
Many composers (more than 2000 over history) have composed music for these mass, including of course Mozart, but also famously Verdi. Cover versions of the same song, in a way.
It's hard to tell exactly what they were referencing, but Mozart's requiem notably doesn't include a Tractus.
And of course, none of them include a "Desirae", a "Lacrima" nor a "Sanct" (famously, not even a word)

For future reference: If non fusion area sees a spike in play you can still summon princess under non fusion area as the card condition states you can SPECIAL summon by sending the above materials to the graveyard. Non Fusion area specifically stops a FUSION summon
We can not continue the last part of the combo like that, because to summon Lacrima like that, it needs TWO FIEND LIGHT. At this point we would have on grave: Engraver, the Link 2 and Necroquip.
To fusion lacrima we should back Engraver and the Link 2, since Necroquip is DARK, and in this situation we would not be able to summon Engraver, because it was send back to the deck
Damn the entirety of 2024 has been such an awful year for this game. Even after the August banlist the game is still gonna suck cuz they aren't gonna hit fiendsmith yet. Tear 0 meta that's completely unaffordable for budget players with a terrible mirror match all year long. Not even to mention that we're getting a new Maxx C in just a few months like idk how they can make this game any worse at this point.
I can't see Fiendsmith Requiem surviving past this year. Fiendsmith as an engine is already exhausting and we're barely into INFO.
Just... why is Fiendsmith as generic as it is?
Just make new handtrap that stops opponent from playing LIGHT monsters but locks into some obscure type-attribute combination for the rest of duel, then print archetype for that combo whose best cards are cash money. There, easy.
Now samsara d lotus is always live. Beatrice as a fusion and not likely to get banned is a win for yubel
if beatrice lives we might as well bring back curious and lavalval chain, since those are now harder to summon than beatrice lmao

The TCG is turning into degenerate dogshit with absolutely insane and out of control combo decks that have no sort of constraints. And Beatrice will get the ban hammer.
I hope your right because it would be cool for Fiendsmith to become a tier 1 deck and not just a splashable engine. Waiting till the end of a tournament is smart because that gives Konami the data to hit stuff right away. I can see Caesar not being banned right away for monetary reasons. But Apallousa and Beatrice are probably on the chopping block. They won't be able to handle all of the displeased customers if they can't get most of their money back after Caesar and Beatrice being hit after a month or so. Its what they get for making The Fiendsmith a secret rare instead of Requiem. We technically only need 2 Requiem if we are worried about cards like D.D Crow. They could have done it that way and print as many of them as the current The Fiendsmith just to save face.
Where are the fusion material for lacrima coming from? At that point you only have 2 LIGHT Fiends in GY and one is the Fiendsmith Engraver.
You can still just go Engraver + Necroquip into Beatrice but you miss out on the link 2 body.
Sequence can summon Kaleido Heart hahahahah

Please for the love of god Konami do something about the powercreep, the game is getting to unsustainable points and instead of printing more disgusting beyond broken cards, just use then fking banlist. It’s suposed to be used like that. AT LEAST USE IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
The banlist only exists to sell new cards. Balancing only was a side-effect at its best, its not the main objective
@@Alex-Omegawell I think if they want a system to sell new product, a set rotation system would be way more effective. That essentially forces you to play the new stuff bc is the only legal stuff u can play. A banlist imo makes it so people can still technically play the old stuff while promoting the new things, but keeping the value of older sets still. It’s way more effective as a tool to control powercreep and I hope they are able to see that when a format looks skippable, things might need to change. The only reason why this format is not skippable for some players is bc it is on the wcq season but if u don’t want to go to worlds, why would anyone play this format?

I think this card is a bigger buff for Yubel than Snake-Eye personally. That said, definitely helps both decks a lot.
They did it so other decks that cant put infinite monster on the field can still use fiendsmith
The classic RE2 soundtrack gave those cards the ominous aura they bring up. There was absolutely no need to have these exclusives, even more with Snake-Eyes now having one extra body to do whatever they want on their end board...
With the exception of the Fiendsmith package Raizeole Shark Toy Box easily cooks Snake-Eyes. To many interruptions and no way to use them all. You pretty strong going 2nd potential and going first Rafflesia plays through Nibiru and on the following turn allows you to use Raizeole Hole. Dweller cooks them to.

@chewdoom8415 with eater were able to make yama add sharvara then summon back eater with its second effect make rage pop rage with sharvara, rage add samsara to hand, that's 1 card combo with fiendsmith if you already normal like a dbb you summon back samara with yama

I mean seems rather clear they are going to hit stuff. These 2 cards are Common as is Heaven. Fiendsmith has so many hit flags it is silly.
I don't like that ruling. If it says 1x + 1y, it should require 2 monsters to send regardless if 1 monster meets both conditions. Idk I'm sure there's precedent for this but if... oh nevermind i should have watched the whole video. It's the "monster" card in the S/T zone that is acting a both.
