  • ViparSpectra's foray into the bar light game with their new KS series impressed me. The KS5000 is a sleek, powerful 4x4 light with a very large footprint that provides strong, even coverage. In this video I unbox, assemble, and test this new lamp.

    In order to offset costs involved in publishing reviews and automation projects, like others in this space, I have decided to begin charging for the many hours I spend running tests, compiling data, and producing these videos. I have marked the video as paid promotion to reflect this and will continue to present objective facts and results.

    dude, appreciate your vid big time. Just the 1st few minutes of opening. There's nothing worse than humming and hawing when it comes to purchasing something online, in a territory foreign to me, not sure what I will be getting. Up until now, I really had no idea on how big the lights are. I know led's are more powerful than hps/halide, but it's still nice to get a physical perspective of the size of the equipment, with you in the background. and the quality. thanks . appreciate it.

    I've been rocking their P series and XS series boards for the past couple years. Love vipar products for the mid range fixtures. Been waiting for this bar style design and knew it would happen eventually. Disappointed they didn't go up to the 650-720w range, but delighted they offer the remote driver.

      Now that we’ve reached close to the plateau of efficiency spectrum tuning is the next frontier.

    Lights drivers usually hung inches from exhaust fan, that's why it won't raise temps too much as it's pulling the heat off and out the tent

    Eu version will prob have less diodes which are made by some budget brand, while making us watch all the US reviews. I feel Vipar have got here on the blood of us EU growers. .. Dam i make myself chuckle with my little digs. I wouldn't say this crap if i didn't feel it was true.

      They have a market and they sell a ton. Also priced right with good build. Lotta people looking to grow indoor vegetables. And veggy starts are extremely expensive when your starting 100 seeds. I was a affiliate for a long time. And yeah they’re are a lot people wondering why they still sell em. Well like I mentioned there is HUGE market. Especially now with the prices of produce the market has exponentially increased.
      I’ve got a 5 year old v600 4 year old r300 and par 700 that still work like they did when I got em.
      If they’re taking apart and cleaned they last for years. But yea competition is great. I like the fact the added benefit of hanging the driver.

    • @Diranar851
      @Diranar851 2 года назад +1

      @@timpage5021 Yes i know they work well but now there are cheap Samsung Lm301B/H lights out there since some years, which have a far higher effeiciency, maybe its not important in countrys with low electric costs, but in others, to mention EU, the Light per Watt is very important for your electric bill.

    • @timpage5021

      @@Diranar851 agreed. oh I know they’re out there . Trust me energy cost is extremely important here in the US. But everyone wants a bargain and they wanna feel like they’re getting something from a reliable company too.. Also plant starts respond extremely well with the heavy blue 400 to 460 nanometers wave length. Especially leafy greens . Remember lotta these are not taking em to flower. Just starts and up through the seedling stage and then get hardened off in shade to go outside., I whole heart agree there’s better out there. Lotta people people aren’t as knowledgeable either. But yea if I got a lil 2x2 tent with couple seedling trays that XS1000 is gonna cover that space better with way more efficiency . But the basic home gardener is gonna see the v300 at half the cost and get similar results. At least for a few years anyways.
      They’re trying to get the best deal (they feel) for best price and from a reputable company that’s been around a long time. When I switched to LEDS around 12 years ago Viparspecta is what I started with. Anyways what light and what space you rockin with presently?
