- Having already tested the KS5000 from ViparSpectra, the bar was set pretty high for its little brother, but in our testing, the KS3000 delivered in all aspects. This light looks sharp, performs great, and it's evident that a lot of thought went into the design. This video covers unboxing, building, and testing the KS3000 and includes high-resolution PAR/PPFD charts with thousands of readings for hang heights of 6" all the way up to 36".

In order to offset costs involved in publishing reviews and automation projects, like others in this space, I have decided to begin charging for the many hours I spend running tests, compiling data, and producing these videos. I have marked the video as paid promotion to reflect this and will continue to present objective facts and results.
Viparspectra seems to have the edge atm with their layout and type of diodes.
These LM301H are super efficient.
Can't wait to get mine. It's coming in today
Great review! Always good content from this channel :)
Hey, it's been awhile! Thanks for watching.
Good review.
I love Viparspectra lights 👍👍👍
This is by far the most impressive review for a grow light I've ever seen.
Thanks, man.
Excellent review. Hope to get a KS2500 soon. Automation is no problem-- I automate all my lights via NodeMCU and relays fixed to the power cord and can set a ON/OFF schedule via a web page at will. Sweet.
Good stuff! On/off is no problem - I like being able to dim from an external controller too, but it’s more of a “nice to have” vs a “need to have”.
Q: why ?? Are are your yields better or has your quality increased? Is this for a large room?
Mainly for convenience: I don’t have to reach into awkward spots to get at the dimmer switch on drivers that don’t have an external pot. Even some of my remote drivers are a bit of work to get at with the layout of my rooms. I can just tell Siri to dim my lights to whatever percent if I’m going to do some work in one, or adjust them from my phone or whatever.
You also get the bonus of more precision (setting levels anywhere between 0%-100% vs 0, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%) and flexibility - wanna simulate sunrise and sunset for your plants or fish or whatever? No problem.
As I said in the video, I doubt many will care, but I like the option.
@@LEDGardener which controller do you use for the KS3000 ???
Waiting for your home Assistant project update. Hope you will be able to put more about your rework soon.
Great Video! Its allways a good idea to double check the ppfd. Have you been using lights from Sanlight?
What percentage of heat reduction can I expect between the KS3000 and my current Sun Systems 315W LEC/CMH light in my 3x3 tent?
Are these test results in a reflective space are in a open area and what’s the size of the space. Great review love this light but it matters.
If they added the full spectrum like aglex but stuck with high end leds and added a driver/controller similar to medic grow that has certain benefits of lowering the 660 nm diode down for veg and turning it up for bloom but adding that to the uv spectrums 405nm , added in ir and more white …
This would be great in a 27x27. Thought about it but went with the 3x3
I know this review is a year old so I'm guessing maybe they have changed some things since this came out. I went and looked online on there website and they say the ks3000 can be daisy chained and when i look at ac infinity's website they say they have an adapter to control the lights remotely. Just wondering if anyone can confirm?
Can I put the dimmer in between 75% and 100% or is it fixed positions only?
Fixed only.
Wat about average ppfds for 18/6 light cycle
i notice the maxsisun MG300 is not in the competition line up ;)
The KS3000 or HLG 260w rspec kit. Whats the better choice. I have a 3x3 AC Infinity tent. And have been using a digital hps/mh.
KS3000 for more uniform (multiple plants), HLG if your growing one dense plant
@@Hardball_MMA Just received my KS3000 yesterday.
Would you say the KS3000 would be good for a dedicated 4x4 veg tent or would you recommend something else?
It'd probably work decently but I'd be so tempted to get the KS5000 for the big footprint and versatility if I ever wanted to flower in there.
@@LEDGardener Actually, the KS5000 is going in my flower tent. So I’m figuring that because I’ll have two 4x4s for a perpetual grow, the KS3000 might be a perfect led for veg only.
Ah, nice. It'd probably work if you ran it nice and high and turned it up.
Would you choose the Spider Farmer SE3000 or a Viparspectra KS3000 for a 3x3 space?
KS3000. Lighter, better coverage, and I like the design better.
@@LEDGardener thanks. I'm looking for a summertime light that will run cooler than my 315W CMH. This just might work and might have more even coverage.
Before buying any Spider Farmer product you would do well to read the numerous negative reviews on Amazon regarding lack of customer service.
I dunno. The mars hydro fce4800 really floods even light in a 3 x 3. At half power, @ 2 feet, the ppfd readings are high 500s low 600s.
costs twice as much too
Hello, great video, thanks for sharing.
Would you be interested in a collaboration? I can send you some of my lights for review
array 3 is better
