ViparSpectra XS-1000 PAR Test and Review

- The ViparSpectra XS-1000 is the latest addition to the XS series. It is the smallest fixture in the line and draws only about 120 watts. It features top end components with a Mean Well Driver and Samsung LM-301b diodes. It is a well made and easy to use grow light.
I tested the somewhat larger ViparSpectra XS-1500 last fall. It draws about 150 watts and earned a top pick for 2’ x 2’ spaces. The XS-1000 is also meant for 2x2 coverage, but will it be able to fill in the PAR Map? I run it through the test and compare it to the ViparSpectra XS-1500. Watch the video and see how they perform.

If you are looking for a little light, the XS-1000 and XS-1500 are both great options and great deals. The XS-1500 is perfect for those who want to maximize production in a 2’ x 2’ tent. The XS-1000 is better suited for those who want to maximize efficiency. They are high quality fixtures at excellent prices.

It is nice to see the other side of the big lights. I love the dimmer on this, I believe it's perfect for seedlings or clones ,as you mentioned. Affordable and possibly great for small 1 plant stealth grow!

Been using the 1000 for a month now….. was planning to get the 1500 but settled for the xs1000 as it fitted the budget..
Great lil light so far, plants are loving it. Will be using it to vegetate 1 plant so it’ll be fine…. Until I can afford the Array line from Migro, this lil baby will be just fine for my set up.

I have 6 XS-1000 and 4 XS-2000 I just bought the 4th and plan on continuing to expand my collection as needed. I like the smaller light, as they're very versatile and allow different height across the tent/room (wherever I'm setting up at the moment) I have an Apogee ePar meter and generally have to turn them down or hang them very high at least until the plants do the flowering stretch. Easily producing 1000+ ppfd in an open room @ 3' up. I like having the extra power and reset them every watering.
Just finished a grow with the xs1000 in a 2x2. It did pretty damn well. A little more light would have given me denser buds but not by much.
I just got it, found it for $100 and felt like it was a great deal. Really excited to quit spending so much money on bud!

I have one of these in my 4×4×80 grow tent and it's a great LED grow light and I am growing two plants. One auto and one photo and they both are doing great. I started from seed to veg and flower. Great overall LED grow light that in my opinion will preform with any LED grow light on the market. Even the high end expensive LED grow lights.

@@VN-wy7boFor autos oh yes. Photos you'll need the 1500 or the p2000. PAR doesn't matter much with autos as they get more light daily vs photos. So it all equals out as far as how much kught thru tecievr.
Any numbers for 2 XS100's used jointly? Specifically what would be the best spacing between them for the best light overlap/coverage?
Can you test the XS series against the P series? I know the XS series is the new series with newer components but Shane at Migro compared the 1000 lights and the P series beat the XS series I would like to see if it is the same for the whole series. Thank you and God bless you and your company

So 75% should be fine for veg. right? And flower 100% when using a 2x2 Box
they have a par series now . which looks like a Mars hydro tsl edition. I have one and love it.
I use the xs1000 and a spider farmer sf1000 in a 2x4
I also have a 3x3(I think it’s actually (32x32) and have a two spider farmer sf1000 in there as well

Here in the UK this unit is priced around 25% higher than the equivalent ViparSpectra P1000, and whilst the premium components on the XS justify the price differential on paper, practically there's almost nothing between the two units, with the XS actually running considerably hotter.
I would recommend seriously looking at the P1000 if you've been considering the XS-1000.

How did you go with spectrumking? I had one but didn’t like it, and ended up with se3000
lol i hate how "there is always something worth spending a little more on". i've already increased my budget 3 times. for my 2x2 initially tried to get something without a brand, for around 40/50eur. realized this was pointless, so then looked at VS P600 & MH TS 600 for around 75eur. realized this was pointless, so started looking at the likes of the VS P1000 which is already around 110eur. of course they compare the P1000 to the XS1000, so now that i'm considering the XS1000 for around 140eur, of course there is yet again a better one (XS1500), which is what's TRULY needed for a 2x2. OMG lol
Unfortunately, all of these tests are for nothing because there are several variants of this same light on the market. Same with the xs2000. If you live outside the USA the likeness of getting this specific light is slim to none. Some have less LEDs some don't have the same driver.. It's a mess.
