Talk about LEDs always focuses on efficiency and 'numbers' but never on the quality of the finished product. LEDs are finiky and not always plug and play if your environment is tuned right. If you don't mind a little less efficiency but better finished product mix LED and HPS in the same tent. You won't regret it.
I am wondering if you are reviewing an older model of Spider Farmer SF4000. The model I am looking at on Amazon as of 7/28/24 has the Samsung LM301H EVO chip. 450Watts. Is this the model you are reviewing, or an older model with a lower efficiency chip? Thanks!

Best emphasizes the importance of a properly designed layout and the quality of LEDs. Use lights with LM301H~ EVO chips. It seems incorrect to still use LM281 chips for sale. Could it be that they haven't consumed the 50,000 MOQ they received?"

Why is the Koniea brand in the list? It can't be found in 5x5 best LED light 2024 either. I think the brand should be on the list. You have already tested the 900w 4 channel from Koniea. I wanted to buy it now I'm unsure.
I've had a great experience with MedicGrow, both from a product and customer service standpoint. Must say though, seems like an odd choice to put a 2x4-sized 320w light into a 4x4 review.
Not true. spectrum is only 2% blue which promotes stretching. LED have 10 -15%blue for short dense growth. HPS is less than half as efficient making them much more expensive to own than LEDs over a period of time and are environmentally damaging due to energy wastage and mercury content.
No just never tested one but they would not do well in this comparison. According to their website their 500W 4-8s delivers 665 µmols average in a 4x4. That's a system efficiency of 1.91 usable PPF/watt. That is a lower system efficiency than any fixtures in this list for $1,149. They were good fixtures when you bought them but now they are not competitive.
@MIGROLIGHT which are you talking about. And mine produce over 1200 watts. And the newer ones are taking g over the large commercial market. WTF. Maybe you should check again. New lights can get 7lbs. Documented. Can yours.
@@RedtideFla lights don't produce watts. They use watts and produce light, heat, sound/vibration. The more efficient the light is the ratio of the light produced goes up. An old led rated 1200w could be throwing out less light than a new 750w Led.
@tommyheron464 I'm glad you think this, but I'm still getting magazine quality, and 36to 40 Oz off each light. All new grow facilities are switching to black dog. Cheap Chinese LEDS are exactly what they are. Inexpensive and last 2 yrs. Black gives 5 yr guarantee. Do your lights. All high-quality connesuers are switching. Maybe you should open your mind to the obvious.

They got a new design gen 2 . Even the seedling kit they improved on them as well with a better controller . They are always improving. But I been hearing people complain about driver issues on the new Ion Franes.
Can’t speak for the other companies, BUTT, Mars-Hydro’s Costumer Service is the worst. Make you feel like they don’t give -a~f*^k about you or your grow. Don’t put your purchases on your account on THEIR site. Then make you prove you purchased the light. Been waiting 5 weeks on a driver that went out on me Jan. 9, 2024. Would like to hear of other costumer Service with other companies. I’m in the market after 4-20-2024. Just sayin………
Spider farmer is just as bad. They wouldn't send me a replacement driver and had a harvest die because of it. They still never fixed my light. I had to do a chargeback
@@HoldThatMayo95 I still don’t have my driver at 5 weeks since contacting them. May not be on the list, butt A/C Infinity is on their game at Costumer service. I may pay a little more. Butt I’ll go with good C.S. . I have the S44 in my 4x4 tent, and it’s a good light. Lights are the only things I ownn N that are not A/C Infinity. This is one of the reasons why I'd purchase from Shane's MIGRO, and HGL, as well. From my years of watching this channel, these companies not only honor their Warranty, but will quickly send another driver. I had the same problem with an Alibaba "sample". Nice, 8 bar fixture, 800W, but driver went bad. They couldn't even sell me a replacement driver..?! MIGRO 750 was a month away from release, and I needed one ASAP. Found a decent, cheap, Amazon fixture (I certainly don't trust the warranty, but $325 for a 720W, 6 bar fixture from "RDJ Bouns"), has kept me going for now. I'd like to know who sells these 800W drivers..?! I've looked all over, but have never seen one for sale over 300-400 Watts..?! Many, many fixtures use these drivers, but apparently no one sells them? I've never used google so much, as I have when trying to search for a replacement driver. Nothing worse than a useless warranty. And one of the main reasons I wanted to purchase the MIGRO 750, besides that it's got a great spread of light and is very efficient, is because I know Shane handles any problems quickly. Forgive my rambling, please. I just wanted to share a similar experience, and express how important Warranties and Customer Service are. Thanks for the info on Mars Hydro's "Warranty".👍💯✌️
Thanks for the update. There is something funny about the spreadsheet. Shouldn't "total cost 3 years" column be "3 year electricity cost" + "USD $ Price"? The last column doesn't seem to add up. Mars FCE1000 is $819 + $1042, but is only $1430 total cost? Then Migro Aray 4x4 is $475 + $1029 and Total Cost is $1472. How can the total cost of the MIGRO be more than Mars when the Mars fixture is $350 lower than Mars? Is there some other variable that is not listed in the spreadsheet?
The electricity and fixture cost are based on delivering 800 µmols PAR average in a 4x4 which is 800 x 1.44m2 = 1,152 µmols PAR. The MARS Hydro delivers 995 watts x 2.44 = 2,428 µmols so there is only about 1/2 a fixture required or about $400. The ARAY 4X4 delivers 1,235 µmols so about 90% fixture cost is required or about $410. This calc may appear convoluted but it is the best way to compare lights of different wattages and PAR outputs to suit the same size space in my opinion.
Someone considering buying one of these lights for their 4 x 4 grow space is unable to buy 50% or 90% of the fixture. They have to buy the entire fixture. So their initial capital outlay is the "USD $ Price"@@MIGROLIGHT . In my view that should be included in the 3 year total cost. (And it would make MIGRO total cost way better than the more expensive fixtures...) Maybe your chart is fairly comparing the efficiency of the different fixtures, and the way I describe it is a "buyers guide".
Migro lights are underpowdered and unsuitable for growing in the spaces suggested. You can tell this is the case by the 250 watt increase between the 4x4 light and 5x5 light. 30cm distance from light required to almost get 800 par and the average under 800??!!! Seriously???
This was a confusing azz video. 1. Because he said Spider farmer se5000/2.5 But then i go to the website& there's no se5000 that looks like this. There's a G5000 that looks like this& it's 2.8 so can somebody help make it make sense? Shane does lots of work& I expect truth& transparency from him so this thru me? Even the se7000 doesn't look like this the gseries does?
I have a 4" x 6"=6" with a FCE 4800 and Bloomplus 3000 organic soil. I could improve efficiency with one beg light. 4x4 is to small for 6 plants. 4 x 6.5 is the sweet spot for 6 15 gallon pots with some room to spare.
Good info. So at how many watts do I need to introduce co2 man. I have an 350 r from hlg. I would like bigger bud. The quality is fine but I don’t get huge colas for the main vein.
Not all strains are made for huge baseball bats. It very dependant on plant structure, how you can manage streching, what kind of light you are using, how often you are feeding, how precisely you can control nutrient supply (depends on media you are using). It is so many factors to be considered. I got beautiful fat colas from using cheapest possible grow light, tons of terpenes. While clones of plant produced rock hard, but not consistent cola and they streched 2x more than mother plant. So experience is biggest key. CO2 is good for speeding up vegetation, but after strech is finished (1-3weeks, dependinging on genetics) plant starts nutrient uptake downwards. ✌
ThriveAgritech has a white paper you can search for titled, "Impact of supplemental under canopy lighting on dry bud mass". It is definitely something I am going to play with and the Migro Array bars seem like they would be a great value candidate. @@MIGROLIGHT
Hi, it's not overkill, it's at the high performance end though. If you are just starting I would recommend the ARAY 4X4, link here: migrolight.com/collections/led-grow-lights/products/aray-4x4
If I use se7000,in 4x4 is it necessary to use 100% power? I only have one tree. and encountered problems with heat in the grow tent Right now I'm only using 80%. Or should I change to se5000? If i used 100% of light my grow tent temp is 80 Fahrenheit or more
It's really not a yes or no answer, indicating that you don't understand enough about growing. Is the plant healthy? Generally you can turn it up until you get light burn, then turn it down a bit... But a better way is to actually measure PPFD/DLI values and go from that.. you're probably not going to be maxing that light out if it's anywhere near your plants. If you want to keep it simple, just leave it as is.
Is the photontek the equivalent of the Lumatek 2.9 or lower umol/s model? I think its the 2.7umol/s model. Still, the coverage on those units are terrible by the looks of it.
Thanks @migro I'm more interested in the one you tested as there seems to be a big difference between the diodes used. It might make the difference when someone is deciding what unit to purchase.

I recently received your 500w 4x4 migro aray light. I noticed there are some inconsistencies on hanging height between the online information, and the information provided with the light itself. What do you recommend for hanging height and power percentage for seedling, vegetative, and flowering stages?
Whoever says mars Hydro's customer service is bad -it's probably a plant from another lighting company I've had issues in shipping that were not their fault that they corrected I've had them ship me free things before that got bent in shipping they're very responsive and they're very very accommodating either you haven't talk to them or you're a shill
I’m starting to wonder why you wouldn’t test the GML Tent ultimate? It would blow all these lights away! Can you explain why you won’t test GML LEDs any longer? Seems like you’ve lost all credibility by being picky choosy on who you test. Consumers want a non biased tester, who doesn’t sell his own LEDs. Conflict of interest is what comes to mind right away. All I can say is I used you as and promoted you as being a great tester. My eyes are open now. Thanks for showing us this. Mars Hydro is your number 1😢😢😢 this is far from the truth and it’s telling that you are a paid advertising agency now, not a professional tester.
Guaranteed this comment gets deleted. Any criticism of migro lights is deleted immediately incase people are educated on the lack of power in his lights. This is what happens when you read how to grow cannabis instead of actually planting some seeds.
Hey Stephen here, I grew for many many years and give advice to novice growers on a daily basis, most of my knowledge came from books before starting growing yes. We don't delete comments on this channel, we leave them up so everyone can see who the haters are. Take care.
@@MIGROLIGHTit's not a case of being a hater, it's facts. 500w of led is under powered for a 4x4 space for flowering all plants efficiently. 30cm space between canopy and light? What about the over a foot of buds below the tips of the colas? The majority of the vegetation is located at least 30 cm below the tips of any decent buds. Your lights are inadequate and underpowered isn't a statement I throw around. The 5x5 light is more suitable and I am not commenting on build quality. I'm saying the truth that in a real world grow with cannabis plants your 4x4 lights and the other lights below this one are just no use. Your lights results in under developed lower buds with light green vegetation caused by lack of light.

Wow surprised not to see mammoth lighting on here. Great price and a ton of light for the money
My Spider Farmer SE5000 fell right in the middle. I'm not mad about that. I originally used it in a 3'X 3' and it crushed it. I feel like it will be fine in a 4'X4', but, should have gotten the Aray. Thanks Shane, been waiting for this one.
hope it didnt damage any plants?
Thank you for your research, Sir!
Shane + Migro = Trust simples
Would you also recommend the IONFRAME EVO6 from AC Infinity
Talk about LEDs always focuses on efficiency and 'numbers' but never on the quality of the finished product. LEDs are finiky and not always plug and play if your environment is tuned right. If you don't mind a little less efficiency but better finished product mix LED and HPS in the same tent. You won't regret it.
I’d like to see where the omega infinity 3.0 fits into this list
I just bought the Omega black. Should have it in a few days. I was going to get the infinity but decided to spend the extra on a proper drying tent.
I am wondering if you are reviewing an older model of Spider Farmer SF4000. The model I am looking at on Amazon as of 7/28/24 has the Samsung LM301H EVO chip. 450Watts. Is this the model you are reviewing, or an older model with a lower efficiency chip? Thanks!
everyone wants to say the ac infinity light is great but no test they still haven't sent you one china light build quality ? and a weak 3 year warranty mammoth lights are beast new tech and great reviews
Nice selection 🔥💨🔥💨🔥✌🏿💯❤️
Best emphasizes the importance of a properly designed layout and the quality of LEDs. Use lights with LM301H~
EVO chips. It seems incorrect to still use LM281 chips for sale. Could it be that they haven't consumed the 50,000 MOQ they received?"
Im using the Growealth 4800. It doesnt reach the corners very well… but it does the job well
I think that last one with the extended fixture is so you can put 2 in a 5x10.
Keep it up. Amazing videos. I have the groplanner 600 for my 4x4. 4 150w boards for 45 a piece on Amazon. Really wanna figure out spacers of 6” and see the par. It gets toasty in the middle. I’m at 65%

yes coming soon, thanks
With the KS5000, how many cm or inches are the hanging points in from the edge of the light?
Why is the Koniea brand in the list? It can't be found in 5x5 best LED light 2024 either. I think the brand should be on the list. You have already tested the 900w 4 channel from Koniea.
I wanted to buy it now I'm unsure.
I've had a great experience with MedicGrow, both from a product and customer service standpoint. Must say though, seems like an odd choice to put a 2x4-sized 320w light into a 4x4 review.
Double ended high pressure Sodium lights are exstreamly cheap and have exactly the right light spectrum you will need in flower always.
Not true. spectrum is only 2% blue which promotes stretching. LED have 10 -15%blue for short dense growth. HPS is less than half as efficient making them much more expensive to own than LEDs over a period of time and are environmentally damaging due to energy wastage and mercury content.
Why is it that you never include Black Dog, afraid of the competition?? Used them for 10 years. Nothing compares.
Documented. Can yours.
@@RedtideFla Read their specs, they are outclassed by every light on the list above
No AC Infinity tests?
For whatever reason they ain’t got many videos of anyone doing par reviewers either .
I’m hearing lotta problems with the new bar lights .. But one thing I can say bout AC infinity they will improve on the product if it did issues
Like their tents had bunch of issues then they redeisujgnrd em . And the fans . They got a new design gen 2 . Even the seedling kit they improved on them as well with a better controller . They are always improving.
But I been hearing people complain about driver issues on the new Ion Franes.

How did AC/Infinity's new IonFrame Evo series bar lights not make the cut???
Not tested yet

where can you buy the parlite in US? Thanks
Not tooting our own horn but we have the best customer service in the market, toot toot
@@HoldThatMayo95 I still don’t have my driver at 5 weeks since contacting them. May not be on the list, butt
A/C Infinity is on their game at Costumer service. I may pay a little more. Butt I’ll go with good C.S. . I have the S44 in my 4x4 tent, and it’s a good light. Lights are the only things I ownn N that are not
A/C Infinity. My next light will probably be an A/C Infinity based on C.S. alone.
@@MIGROLIGHT Sorry Shane, Didn’t mean to leave you out of the mix. You’ll definitely be in the “GOOD” list.

What about ac infinity ??
OK. Thank you. Understood.
Curious why you didn't have Mammoth lights on the list or tested?
They are in the 5x5 test coming soon
What is your go to lighting for clones and seedlings?
The ARAY 1
migrolight.com/collections/led-grow-lights/products/migro-aray-1-seedling-grow-light
Migro lights are underpowdered and unsuitable for growing in the spaces suggested. You can tell this is the case by the 250 watt increase between the 4x4 light and 5x5 light. 30cm distance from light required to almost get 800 par and the average under 800??!!! Seriously???
You’re missing the point of effinciency
They are under-driven to increase lifespan and efficacy .
800 par is bang on for big buds .
This was a confusing azz video.
1. Because he said Spider farmer se5000/2.5
But then i go to the website& there's no se5000 that looks like this. There's a G5000 that looks like this& it's 2.8 so can somebody help make it make sense?
Shane does lots of work& I expect truth& transparency from him so this thru me?
Even the se7000 doesn't look like this the gseries does?
surely any of the new Evo lights beat all these ?
thanks :)
Why no tests on Dimlux LED's on your channel?
They have never sent us one for test
Anything over 1000 Par co2 is beneficial

Shane, have you ever experimented using your Migro bars as "Under-Canopy" or "Side" lighting?
No but thinking about it...
ThriveAgritech has a white paper you can search for titled, "Impact of supplemental under canopy lighting on dry bud mass". It is definitely something I am going to play with and the Migro Array bars seem like they would be a great value candidate. @@MIGROLIGHT

@@MIGROLIGHT but my tent hight is only 1.80m is that still okay?
Yes
Does he charge for reviews

Is the photontek the equivalent of the Lumatek 2.9 or lower umol/s model? I think its the 2.7umol/s model. Still, the coverage on those units are terrible by the looks of it.
Both the same fixtures just with different names for the UK and US market, they have a 2.7 and 2.9 if I remember correctly.
Thanks @migro I'm more interested in the one you tested as there seems to be a big difference between the diodes used. It might make the difference when someone is deciding what unit to purchase.
Why no HLG’s being tested?

@MIGROLIGHT I received the email this morning, thank you. I'll try again after work.
Any need to supplement co2 with your migro light?
CO2 is beneficial at all PAR intensities. However if you cant to grow more it is usually easier to add more grow space i.e. a seedling or veg tent
@MIGROLIGHT I just picked up a 4 foot x 4 foot x 80 inch tent. I plan on getting your light. I'm just trying to prepare properly and get everything at once. Looks like I might be adding some co2!
I recently received your 500w 4x4 migro aray light. I noticed there are some inconsistencies on hanging height between the online information, and the information provided with the light itself. What do you recommend for hanging height and power percentage for seedling, vegetative, and flowering stages?
