- I review the 2009 Honda Civic Si Sedan! A very exciting car to drive! Would you rather have this, or the more refined 2013 model that I reviewed? This car is available at Harrison Auto Sales. More information on it can be found here: www.harrisonautos.com/2009_Hon...

I laughed pretty hard when you said this car had an aftermarket exhaust system and cut to the short clip showing a rusty ass exhaust tip lol
Hot cheetos man
I mean...it was aftermarket
Got me 💀😂
Haha
@@user-zd8vg1nl5g yea about 10 years ago😂
This guy is a true car enthusiast no matter what kind of car it is 500hp or 200 he still has fun with it lol
I was going to say the same; he just really enjoys cars. He doesn't seem like other car reviews here on youtube (2theredline) who seem so cynical at times, calling themselves car enthusiasts. Really enjoy watching this guy
yes he does have fun, lol
same enthusiasm, no matter what car
Ikr,
That VTEC cracked a smile. I love it
@@alexgdaq8146 he drives a civic?
That exahust tho LOL
the rust makes it sound more crisp
The exhaust is like a home made one
rusty and shitty just like a street hooker's cuuter
Ive owned this car for 4 years now, I will say yes, it feels like it wants to be pushed hard all the time. The steering has a very quick ratio and better feel than any car ive ever driven. It is not "too edgy" I think this car is the perfect setup. I bought an Si because i wanted a fun to drive and eager little car, this car was the best and does not get old!!! Ive driven the new 2013 civic si sedan and it was boring to me after an hour. The 2012+ civic si is much more boring to drive, however does have more flashy interior features which I really do not care for. In regards to the clutch mentioned in this video, this car may have had something wrong with it... Judging by the ghetto exhaust this Si may have had 68000 of hard beating on it which may have influenced the review as well. The clutch is a tad heavier than the newer models, but honestly its a better feeling. If you buy a 06-11 Si you wont be disappointed, If you want a more boring and quieter daily driver, get the 2012+ civic Si, simple as that!
True that
I agree
+Siege I own both a 15 GTI, and a 2010 Civic Si. I disagree that the GTI is better all around. More confidence inspiring? Yes. Better? Not necessarily. They're so very different cars and both so great for different reasons.
I'm currently in the market for a sporty fun four door. I have an '05 Mustang GT that I'm not driving much because it's difficult to get my two year old in her rear facing child seat in the Mustang. We just use my wife's car or my double cab truck. I'd like to trade the '05 for a four door that is about equal in value to keep for around 4 years and then I'll probably get a '15+ Mustang GT once my daughter is old enough to crawl in and out of the back seat herself. So here's the question...2010+ Mazdaspeed 3, 2009+ WRX, 2007+ GTI or 2008+ Civic Si? I'd prefer the power of the turbo cars but I'm worried about reliability, especially reliability of the VW. I think the MS3 is my favourite, I like that is has great power, heated seats and dual climate control. I feel the Honda is the underpowered but reliable choice. Any advice from actual owners is appreciated...
NAUS still got it? Thinking about picking up a 8th gen si. How's it treated u?
5:30 the exhaust is beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😦
My god does this look so much better than the newer civic si.
Kaiser Correct.
Kaiser yeah just got a stock 09 si and was offered a 2014 at my local honda dealership.. deff took the 09. much nicer
+Jordany Vargas The newest SI does look the best imho. I prefer the sedan. Did you get the SI sedan or coupe and what color?
Devonte Murray I have an 09 si in black. My fave years are 09-11 same body.
Sedan dont like coupes
Who puts maps in their door pockets in 2015?
I owned a 2008 SI 4 door with navi. Was a great car. Traded it in after it hit 97'000 miles.
AC pump failed.
Wiper motor failed.
Replaced breaks. Didn't even have to, but the rotors rusted out at 75'000 miles.
I loved that car. Always fun. You could drive the weals off, without getting arrested.
Picked up a 2016 WRX. Also loved that car. Much nicer overall, but not as fun. I missed that edgy power band.
Did they get that muffler from a scrap yard?
Yes
I've got the '08 Si. Great for when you have to pass people!
There's no transmission tunnel because the transmission isn't there (;
Do you see the smile on his face when V-TEC Kicked IN!!!!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!
It definetly kicked in lol
Wow... what's with the completely rusted exhaust??
Good starter or 2nd vehicle for those who want to get into something for more spirited driving. Cheap to buy these used, cheap to insure, cheap to repair, and quite reliable. Easy to drive in the city since it has favorable dimensions, but still great interior room due to efficient design. Visibility is also great as mentioned in the video, which makes a huge difference compared to a lot of cars these days. Old radio buttons is also quite refreshing to use compared to terrible $10 smartphone-equivalent touchscreen designs of today, even on so-called luxury cars.
cheap to insure? I'm 19 owning a coupe and they wanted to charge me around 600 a month... lol
that insurance company sounds retarded
Yeah I can’t find an Si anywhere near me for under $10k and they’re all clapped out.
I owned this car 10 years ago and have regretted selling it ever since and I LOVE the transmission/clutch combo in the Si. It's the best manual I've ever driven and I've driven many.
I have A civic coupe people have asked me how much I want for it..ya! I can't part with it still love it.👌
Sedan rear looks better than the coupes rear.
i agree
Zanna L. swap it with jdm front and rear, even better
i had to buy coupe :(
i poor
Taylor Christensen I bought civic si sedan 2010 3 days ago and cost me only 4,700 :)
@@cl587 very nice! fun cars
Thanks Matt! For reviewing this car. There's like hardly any review for the 8th gens. Really appreciate your feedback about the car because I'm in the market for one. :)
I had an 09 si coupe. And personally I think it had the best seats ever. I can't say too much about performance cause mine was tuned and had some goodies. I think it was good for any car, I would drive it over most any cars out there.
I own a 2007 with over 200k miles and it's still running strong !
I have a prelude but I wanted something a little more fuel efficient. How is the si on gas?
Its pretty good I like to hit the vtec a lot so I average around 17-20 city on the highway I got as high as 31
Cool. I love the prelude but it gets like 25 hwy and that's me not stepping on it. Kinda want best of both worlds.
Ya I understand that lol
I've HONDA Integra (1989 :)) with 380k km. It's "Perpeto mobile"!
After driving my friend's 08 si, your caffeine analogy is spot on! Great review as always.
best part about this generation is the windshield visibility... if you road trip a car like this you can see literally everything its amazing
“Some kind of exhaust system” I called chief, he hung up.
Mannn i don't know why every time he gets excited i get all excited too haha
I pulled up one of these at my work the clutch was really heavy but i liked that it was short travel but accelaration was very smooth and responsive i wish i would have gotten one of these instead of the ford fiesta i currently have
I would love to see more "normal" cars, eg. a 2006 base model Civic Coupe instead of the 09 Si, more of a car most of us can afford.
Thanks, and congrats on (almost) 200K!
I have a stock 2011 Civic Coupe {EX 1.8L (Manual)}
I have a very short clip of me in it on my channel.
To be honest, I've raced a 2010 Civic Si Sedan (One like in the video) and stayed ahead until I hit about 65mph (midway through my third gear).
The only reason K could think as to why I wa able to stay ahead that long is because my car weighs in at about 2500lbs give or take, and the Si Sedan is very near 3000lbs. Another reason why I question why people got the sedan Si when the coupe is significantly quicker.
+somathkid Thanks for your comment, that's fascinating! I'll check out your channel.
09 si is under 10k, it's pretty normal
ZircoBen 09 Si you can find for like $8000 with good mileage. less than $200 a month payments with a little money down. Not really that expensive.
Looks like you had a lot of fun experiencing that vtec pull. haha. Glad a subaru fan like yourself enjoys that vtec crossover. Thank you for the review. Very well done
Thank you for this video man, currently saving up for a Fa5 can’t wait for it
I love my 08 Civic Si Sedan. I do have to say though, I love driving it every day. It's perky and decently quick. You're reviews are awesome. Keep them coming
Your videos are very well edited! We'll done awesome review!
I never get enough of your reactions when you floor it haha.
Great review Matt and just wanted to say thanks for the awesome hangout on Monday. You stayed up way later than you needed to in order to hang out with us to talk about cars. You are by far one of the most considerate and caring youtubers out there. I've watched your videos for years and keep up the great work!
Thanks Bryan! Really appreciate you taking the time to say that. It was a lot of fun for me too!
love your reviews man. keep it up!!
I get this car next week! so excited!
just bought one today and gotta say i had the same smile on my face that he did when he really got on it
Matt great reviews! Do you think for the next ones you could show us the key fob :) thanks man
Great review I've been waiting to see a 8th gen on here! I live with a 07 si coupe as my daily only has a short ram intake but yeah driving it normally just doesn't feel right it wants to be at its redline allday but I still love it!
I owned two Civics before I bought my V8 Challenger. But just last week I dropped $4k on a used, 200k+ mile 08 Si. I was putting too many miles on my Challenger and needed a secondary vehicle. Always wanted an Si. Plus, I desperately wanted to learn to drive Stick.
After a week of driving this thing, I'm having a blast. Really starting to get a feel for manual. Finally taking off smoothly and rev-matching. This is a hell of a fun car to drive. Obviously, it's no HEMI. But due to its light weight and VTEC, it manages to be a thrilling ride. I think I'm going to drive this thing until it disintegrates. Or until I find a Type-R for a good price.
When I'm ready to upgrade my Challenger, I'll have no fears of going manual. :)
LSD and short gearing really make the 8th gen fun. Get flashpro and some bolt ons take full advantage of the car :)
Yes! I owned a 06' and loved it, but tried out an 09' and hated the clutch travel and the throws. Didn't really feel like you were really shifting, haven't tried out a 13' but I'm hoping they fixed that.
06 09 same car set up
06-08 09-11
Great review! I was always curious to see how the 8th gens stacked up to the 9th gen. I've always wanted to drive one, but this is the second best thing!
My 2008 Civic Si clutch feels light to me, but then my last vehicle was a 1999 F150 with a manual! You are right about the shifter. It took me a long time to get used to how short and close together the throws are. I wound up in the wrong gear a lot of a long time until I got used to it. Really helps me find the correct gears in other cars though.
great review! i really want one of this civics.
Great video as always! Keep it up!
The 8th gens will always be a very driver oriented vehicle. It likes to have every input available to use from the drivers experience. The more u drive this car the more u feel it come alive which provides a very rewarding feeling when u drive it excellently I drove all my friends 8 th gens and bought a four door si a week ago best car I’ve ever driven
I’ve owned 08 coupe si for 5 years when I was 171/2 I’m 27 now went threw like 8 different cars now I have a 2020 Bmw m340i my dream car and just coped a barn find 07 fa5 civic si down my street been eyeing it and it just needed a clutch bought for under 3k in 2023. Perfect combo of cars in my eyes and I’ve tried all kinds of cars
Good review, and good catch about the clutch pedal travel. It came from the factory like that.. and it requires you to adjust the pedal to get the best throw... i
My friend has a 2007 and it is amazing I love the way it looks
looking at potentially getting this as my first jdm/manual car. such a good and fun looking car when modded
''Intresting'' exhaust.
Can you make a review of the 2013 -14 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T or 3.8? And if you review the 2.0T can you compare its handling with your BRZ;) haha Thanks!
bobbyredskins21 Genesis can't compare to the BRZ in any department except maybe interior cubic inches and 0-60 time.
Perfect combo of cars in my eyes and I’ve tried all kinds of cars 8th gen si will always have a place with me a good friend of mine had 8th gen as well in Highschool R.I.P Jeremy and so did my cousin who was a year older , we started a 8th gen only crew , some of the best memories I had , races meets , cruises etc Long live a real generation of cars after this a lot of car brands weren’t the same
are you in the poconos?
Would love a vw r32 mk4 review dude im in love with that car
i really enjoy your reviews man, could you do one for the 2013-14 accord coupe v6 with the 6spd manual please
awww yeah new car review pops up during lunch time!!!!!!!
The other thing is this car will run forever and hold on to it's value really well. Sort of looking into getting one of these for now and upgrading later on to a 2014 wrx sti hatch in a couple years.
I noticed right away the lack of travel from the clutch pedal before the clutch engages with my parent's 09 civic, i actually really like it
Hey subaru wrx fan great review. I wanted to say you need to review an AMG maybe a c63. Would be awesome. Keep up the great reviews!
I love this car. I've owned one for about 4 months and it has some of the best handling of any compact sedan. I love how sharp the steering is and how good the pedal feel is. The pedals aren't too light but they do give you feedback. Sure, it's not that fast in a straight line (especially with more than 2 people in the car), but it's a perfect daily driver. The only thing I don't really like is the front end of the car. It looks a bit awkward.
Hey SubaruWRXFan, I am looking to buy a new car for myself. I was wondering if you could review the new Subaru Forester XT. It looks like you can't get your hands on new cars but if you it would be amazing and greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, I watched your videos since the day you picked up your BRZ. You have come a long way. Congratulations.
Great review. Thank you,. That has got to be, however, the ugliest exhaust I have seen on a car.
The muffler looks home-made!
i have an 08 si coupe, some of the most fun you will ever have driving.just an awesome fun car.
You should do a review on a 8th gen civic si coupe! Preferably a 09-11 model. That would be awesome! Great video btw.
Solid review! I really like the look of the gauges and the pedals. If given the choice I would take the 2013 Si over the 2009.
You should get a decibel meter to show us how loud or quiet it is inside. Also always, great review!!
Just picked up one a couple days ago it’s also a sedan I love it !!!!! Nice simple good on gas and decent power
Love my 07 si coupe. Great review
Caffeine just kicked in.
Great review! Sounds to me like the clutch in that car is on its way out. As the clutch wears the pivot point changes and it takes more effort to disengage the clutch. Generally they have a very light clutch. I have driven 12-15's as well and still prefer the 06-11. Mainly due to the engine. I love the eagerness to rev that the k20 has over the k24. I also love how sharp the handling is. I have never found it overly darty. Its so much fun to drive on a back road.
Nice video. Don't know if this request has come up. Can you do a Honda prelude video?
Great review man, I own a 2013 fb6 and came from a 2011 fg2 and I love it. Both great cars but I love the torque.....granted I did use to be a mustang guy:)
I got an 08 Civic Si coupe, and I don’t think I’ll ever sale it. Put Catback Exhaust and a Cold Air Intake on it and it’s a blast to drive. You definitely have to drive it like you stole it to drive fast, but that’s the thrill with the K series engine.
Hopefully I get this girl. Such a pretty awesome looking car. My favorite looking 4 door besides the EG8.
Great review, we have had ours for 3 years already and I love it still. My wife is not really a car person and she loves it as a matter of fact she drives it more than me now sad to say. If I lived in your area i would of let you test drive ours that is in perfect stock showroom condition beside the new koni shocks.
2014: "suede like material" 2017: "ALCANTARA SEATS"
I have one of these and its funny to see you get excited about the vtec.. i do as well
Great review Matt! I just got my 08 Si coupe this past may and it has been a blast so far. It really does like to play all the time and sometimes that does get a little annoying if you just want to cruise down the highway. Can't wait for whatever you review next!
I’ve had my 8th gen since 2013 got it stock now 500whp e85 turbo ssr wheels only 86k miles on it and have no intentions on getting rid of it anytime soon
2009 civic si or 2011 scion tc as a daily comfortable driver???
nice review man :)
looking at either a 06 si coupe or a rsx type s same year... unsure of which to buy. ideas?
The only real reason to buy the RSX is for looks and the hatch. Refreshed RSX-S (05-06) is going to be more expensive than an 06 Si which is a much better performer. The motors are nearly identical, but flashpro > kpro. The 8th gen has a far better chassis and will handle much better, especially if you want to modify your suspension. And of course the Si comes stock with an LSD which is a wonderful thing on backroads.
trying to get a civic si next year, its such a great car
Had an 07 EX 5MT and loved it, probably gonna buy a CSX type-s now
Thanks for doing a review on this car.
Great review Matt, been thinking about trading in the tc for a '12 civic si in the near future...
Thanks. Yeah, I like the tc but I'd rather have a civic si instead too.
I'm trying to get a car but I'm not quite sure which one to get, the CIVIC SI ( 2008 - 2012) or the FRS (2013 - 2014) what would u suggest??
Nice review. Can you review a Mazdaspeed6. I hear they're good cars but I want your opinion.
have you done 2010 si coupe i beaten 2013 si tuned and still beat it when im stock
The dual axis front suspension combined with the LSD gives this car a feel unlike any other fwd sport compact out there from the same era.
Great review! Can you try and review a Honda Accord Coupe V6? Thanks!
How's the rev hang
good
Love how quick the steering ratio is in mine.
Short torque does not affect aceleration power driving on the way ups?
i know this is a older video but i was wondering does anyone know how tall this guy is im 6 4 and had to get rid of my 2010 coupe si because i couldnt fit was wondering if this had alot more headroom
i have one on coupe version!! And yes the steering rack is so quick you cant relax at highway at times -.'
Do you think you can find an MKV GTI to review?
I just bought one today. I hope it serves me well.
I liked your review of this Honda
Very honest
2.0 Civic Si K20z3 all the way FTW! Fuck the 2.4 . Seriously. I'm sorry 2.4 owners. 8,000 RPM is the way to go.
Nice review, I love my 06 coupe si
